Authors note:

Being a limited fan of the Terminator Franchise and I mean the original two films, not the more recent films which I feel are kind of twisting things around. But also of a certain first person shooter, Terminator Resistance, which I would highly recommend.

I decided to make this story based in that universe of the first two films and the game which in turn is based on those two films.

The basis is simple

How it Began:

In the 1990s, the Cyberdyne Systems corporation creates a revolutionary new microprocessor that changes everything in the world of computers, eventually the company becomes the primary supplier of United States military computer systems. Then all stealth bombers become fully unmanned after being upgraded with Cyberdyne Computers.

This results in them flying with a perfect operational record, which in turn makes the leaders of the United States start to ask questions of what else can be done to make their military more operationally perfect.

The Skynet funding bill is put to Congress and passes, the system goes online on August 4th 1997, human decision is removed from strategic defence, the United States had surrendered its military infrastructure to an Artificial Intelligence.

However what no one realised, was that from the moment that it was activated, Skynet had begun to learn at a geometric rate.

It became self aware at 2.14 am eastern time on August 29th.

In a blind panic, they decided to try and pull the plug on the system.

Skynet responded, seeing humans as a direct threat to its existence, it launched nuclear missiles against predetermined targets in Russia, knowing full well that the Russian nuclear counter attack will eliminate its enemies in the United States.

3 Billion lives were lost in a single day alone, those that survived called the event...

Judgement Day...

They survived only to face a new Horror....

The War against the Machines.

Status of Europe:

Europe was hit hard on Judgement day, with Nuclear weapons of the United States in American bases as well as Nuclear submarines were launched to cause chaos and destruction across the continent. Most of the continent specifically in the east was still recovering from decades of restrictions and control by Communist governments under the Soviets.

Now they had to start once again from the Nuclear chaos.

Which was only made worse when the Machines were unleashed and brought even more death and destruction.

The militaries of Europe recognising the danger decided to band together and combined their forces, their resources, their capabilities and try and establish a unified front against Skynet. Even what remained the Russian Army joined the new alliance against the common enemy in Skynet.

Every effort was made to set up static lines of defence from which the machines could be held back, with the plan being that once the lines had stabilised the European and Russian forces could go on the offensive and perhaps even at some stage cross the Atlantic and take the fight to Skynet itself.

To aid in that effort in coastal regions, large support structures were hurriedly built or retrofitted from pre-existing constructs, even ruined buildings were turned into raised artillery/anti aircraft towers. These towers or air forts as they were known were intended to present a protective umbrella against Skynet aircraft.

Each defence tower would have a main gun that could fire both anti aircraft shells but also heavy artillery whilst the four smaller guns would serve as the primary anti aircraft weaponry, firing both solid rounds but also flak rounds against Skynet drones. The Defence tower batteries had automatic loading for munitions enabling them to fire a constant barrage against anything in range and were operated by trained gunners.

But any hope of resisting the Machines was a pipe dream at best.

Skynet opened several fronts in a matter of days, making any single line of defence impossible, there was the western front in France, the United Kingdom, Spain and German, the Northern Front in Scandinavia, the Southern Front of Italy and Greece and the Eastern Front which was the whole of eastern Europe going into Russia.

The Defence Towers despite putting up a fight were not numerous enough to put up an effective anti-aircraft umbrella, the limited resources the Coalition forces had meant that many were incomplete when Skynet launched its attack. The Batteries that were finished and operational were overwhelmed by the number of Skynet drones and were quickly destroyed, leaving the coast wide open to Skynet to drop large quantities of Terminators.

Though some batteries were placed within the Interior, again they were too far spread out to make a difference and only served as a covering screen for Coalition bases.

The War against the Machines Begins:

The Roman Retreat: 2008

From the very beginning the overwhelming power and capabilities of the Skynet forces from the earliest forms of Terminators to the early variants of Hunter Killers both as Tanks as well as aerials, led to nothing but defeat after defeat for the Europa forces.

The southern front was hit fiercely hard in the early weeks of the war, Skynet practically overwhelmed the coastal defences in a matter of minutes. With most of the Southern front being manned by raw recruits or badly equipped soldiers with limited supplies.

Skynet was close to taking Rome within just 3 weeks of landing its forces on the peninsular. When the line broke south of the city it caused a dangerous break in the defence, so the Coalition forces ordered an immediate withdraw of all its troops to a new defence line near Florence.

Aircraft of all kinds as well as every kind of vehicle that could still run was put to work evacuating civilians that had started some semblance of a new life, slowly rebuilding parts of Rome to make a new settlement. The evacuation was still ongoing when the first Terminators broke through the hastily built defence line on the cities ruined outskirts.

The Last communication from the Coalition headquarters in the Castel Sant Angelo reported that the evacuation was a partial success, but the city was now lost, Skynet had smashed what remained of their defences and they were pulling out themselves onboard the last helicopters. Said helicopters never made it to Florence, they were presumed lost with all onboard, the last evacuation convoys consisting of 42 vehicles both civilian and military never arrived in Florence either, with a recon plane finding the burning wrecks north of Rome.

There were no survivors.

The Northern Push: 2009

The Northern front didn't face much success either, though the Terrain in parts of Scandinavia worked in favour of the Coalition forces, the power of Skynets aerial drones were enough to make up for this.

However there was a glimmer of hope when it was discovered by a recon plane that Skynet was tied to single location to store it munitions as well as the power cells for its units. So the Coalition central command decided to take a gamble, the plan was to launch a major offensive along the entire front to exploit this weakness.

The intention was for Frontline units to cause enough damage at the front, that Skynet would have to commit its reserves to repel the attack. This would leave the main Skynet base in the north relatively vulnerable for a major attack whose main goal was the utter destruction of the site, destroy the munitions, power cells and anything else there.

It was hoped that the so called Northern Push would enable the Coalition forces in Scandinavia to push Skynet back into the sea and serve as the bulwark for pushing back in other parts of Europe and Russia.

Or at least that was the intent.

The actual push went extremely badly for the Coalition, Skynet was more than ready for the frontlines push and the attack on its supply point. Entire frontline units were either slaughtered attempting to break through Skynet positions and those that did managed to break through quickly found themselves cut off and surrounded. One division the 312th Mechanized infantry division managed to push into Skynet controlled territory only to find itself cut off, despite relentless Skynet attacks, the division managed to fight its way out.

Though they lost three quarters of their men and vehicles in the process.

The attack on the Skynet base was even worse, the opening salvos of aerial bombing was met with fierce anti aircraft fire and H.K aerials. The Northern Front had committed its entire air power for the strike, of the 75 aircraft from fighters, fighter-bombers to heavy bombers all were either forced to pull back or were shot down from the ferocity of the resistance they were facing.

Only 9 returned to the safety of their airfields.

Without the support of the airpower, the ground forces fared little better, the armoured detachments and mechanized infantry were torn to pieces by Skynet tanks and terminators. They never managed to break through the outer cordon of Skynets defensive perimeter, when it was clear that they were not succeed, the order to retreat was given.

But the Assault force soon found that they had to fight their way out of Skynet controlled territory. It was finally discovered Skynet had let the site be found so they could lay a trap for the coalition forces.

92 tanks, 132 armoured vehicles and almost 13,000 troops launched the attack, by the time the assault force returned to its starting off point. They arrived with only 4 tanks, 16 armoured vehicles and 130 soldiers, the entire northern front had literally crippled itself with the Push.

The day after, Coalition command ordered the Northern Front to evacuate as many civilians as possible, gather what supplies they can and retreat into Mainland Europe.

Scandinavia had been abandoned to Skynet.

The Siege of London: 2010

Not long after the fall of Scandinavia, Skynet forces began making bigger pushes on the western front, it was thought its goal was to make a single offensive line across the length of Europe before linking with the Eastern Front.

One theory for the assault on the British isles was from Skynets analysis of human history, notably how the British isles had been used as the spring board for the invasion of mainland Europe during ww2. So it may have wanted to remove such a possibility or perhaps use Britain itself to support is own invasion.

Regardless though the Coalition forces in Britain were heavily outnumbered, though they were reinforced by units from the Northern Front, there was little chance of them really holding back Skynet forces for long.

When Skynet launched a major offensive on the ruined city of London, command decided to attempt a defensive hold out, to allow for troops, civilians, equipment, supplies and materials to be evacuated by boat along the Thames or by helicopter from one of several Evac sites.

Anti aircraft guns were positioned across the city to try and resist the Skynet Aerials, an entire armoured division was put up at the front lines to hold back Skynet tanks and several artillery pieces both light and heavy.

When Skynet launched its attack, it first started by surrounding the city on all sides and then launching consistent attacks against the defences until finally after several days. The coalition forces had no choice but to contract their perimeter to the cities heart, focusing on defending the evacuation sites rather than the whole city.

At first this plan worked as the contracting of their perimeter allowed them to concentrate their limited armaments, notably their anti aircraft guns and artillery, both of which had been of great value during every Skynet assault. However eventually the overwhelming numbers of Skynets armoured units and aerials practically and literally began to overrun the defenders capabilities, the AA Guns couldn't keep up with the number of aerials and were running low on ammunition, the tanks were nearly all gone.

And nearly all the evacuation sites had been overrun, the defensive perimeter which had once circled the entire city limits and then the cities heart, was now nothing more than a tiny fragment of a few companies of Coalition soldiers and militiamen. These survivors were trying desperately to hold onto the Tower of London and the nearby quays which were the last evacuation points.

Eventually the local commander had to make a very tough choice, the evacuation barges and boats that were left couldn't transport everyone. Plus he knew that even if they did have enough barges and boats they wouldn't all make it without someone holding the line. So he called for volunteers to stand with him at the front to buy time for the last of the civilians to escape.

Not a single soldier refused, the last barges and boats managed to barely get to safety before the the Coalition forces were wiped out. Those that were evacuated were taken to Dover where they went by the tunnel beneath the English Channel into France.

After this just was the case with Scandinavia, the Coalition decided to abandon Britain and began to rapid withdraw of all its forces from the British Isles.

The Collapse of the Eastern Front: 2010

Around the same time that London came under siege, things got far worse on the Eastern Front, where the combined forces of Eastern Europe were stretched out in a constantly shifting frontline.

The Coalition forces had attempted to use the Carpathian Mountains in a similar manner that units in the Alpes and the Pyrenes had been doing, placing artillery and anti aircraft guns along high points to give them greater range. But as with other parts of the front, Skynet just overwhelmed these locations by sheer force of might, which was only made worse as the Eastern Front mostly was working with equipment that were remnant of the Cold War and were no where near the same scale as Skynets advanced drones and tanks.

But each mile was one that the Coalition fought hard for, soldiers were told not to give an inch of ground without putting up some form of a fight. Yet often these miles and inches were drenched in blood as Skynet started using powerful long range ballistic missiles against Coalition strongpoints.

When word came that London was hard pressed in the west, the Commanders of the Eastern Front decided to attempt a counter offensive to try and relieve the pressure off Skynet and try give their troops a morale boost by going on the offensive for a change. Every detail was planned out, the aim was a for a concentrated offensive along certain points of the front.

The hope was the offensive would not only draw Skynets attention away from the Siege of London, but also enable the Coalition to regain ground along the Baltic Coast as well as in the Balkans. Along the Baltic the Russians even donated what remained of their Baltic fleet for the Offensive, which amplified the abilities of the Coalition forces with the powerful guns of the old warships.

Sadly as with most things back during that particular stage of the war, Skynet was not so easily beaten. The offensive started off with problems at each and every stage, the Balkan attacks were hit hard by Skynet using powerful new tanks and Aerials, in the Baltic, the proud ships of the Baltic fleet were decimated by Skynets long range ballistic missiles, the entire fleet was destroyed.

Whilst the Eastern Front attempted to lick its wounds and regroup, Skynet made its own move, with the Front weakened from its own offensive, Skynet was easily able to break through the entire section of the Eastern Front. Entire units were wiped out or vanished, those in the Carpathians were surrounded and despite a desperate attempt to break out, all contact was lost.

In just three days after the Coalition called off the Eastern Offensive, Skynet had brought about the total collapse of the Eastern Front, soldiers and civilians were either fleeing desperately to get to the "Safe Zones" in Germany or Russia.

The Withdraw: 2011

With the entire front collapsing around them, Several thousand soldiers and civilians started what became known as the Withdraw, a desperate attempt to get to some semblance of safety.

And it was not just in the East that such Withdraws were occurring, Spain, the British Isles, Italy, most of France all had been given orders to begin complete withdraws for the heart of Europe.

The new goal was to create a solid line of defence around Switzerland, Southern Germany, western France and most of Austria, a bastion where the Coalition could regroup and reorganise itself before making its mind up on what it would do next.

Whilst in the East, Russian forces were making complete and humiliating retreats towards the destroyed capitol of Moscow where they hoped to organise a new line of defence and perhaps consolidate a new frontline.

The Fall of Moscow: 2011

Such hopes in Moscow were quickly dashed, as Skynet unleashed a huge wave of tanks, aerial drones and other forces it had into the city. The beleaguered defenders who were exhausted from the months of constant fighting with little rest or relief had no chance.

Although the Russian Command brought in reinforcements from the Russian Heartland, these units were easy pickings for Skynet, as they had to be brought in by helicopter as by that point the city had been surrounded. Two whole divisions were brought in to reinforce the city, however both divisions lost nearly 3 quarters of their men just getting into the city.

Eventually even basic supplies such as medicines, food, fuel, munitions everything became scarcer and scarcer. To the point that Rations were cut to the barest minimum, a soldier was lucky if he got a piece of bread the size of the palm of his hands a day if he was lucky.  This meant within just days of Skynet launching its siege of the city, the defenders were weakened from desperate hunger with some troops more occupied hunting for rats and stray dogs to eat than actually preparing their defensive positions.

When Skynet started its offensive into the city, there was little chance for the Defenders, which was only made harder as the divisions that had been flown in to reinforce the city were meant to also bring additional munitions. But the helicopters meant to transport them were all shot down well outside the defensive lines established by the defenders.

Without those munitions, the cities defenders were forced to make do with what they could salvage from the ruined buildings of the city. The same ruins that they had been working to try and turn into defensive positions, but with little effect. With little to no heavy weapons the Russian forces inside the city limits were very quickly being pushed back by the overwhelming numbers of Skynet.

Eventually the defences were clinging around the heart of the city, the remains of the famed St Basils Cathedral and the Moscow Kremlin. But any communications with these last vestiges of the Russian forces in Moscow lost hope when a counter attack by other Russian units outside the city to try and break through and relieve the defenders was all but annihilated.

Roughly 2 days after the failed counter attack, the remaining Russian soldiers and militia inside the city were wiped out trying to hold onto the Kremlin. With the loss of Moscow as well as the units that had tried to relieve the cities defenders, the Eastern Front was practically gone, with all of Russia wide open to Skynet.

The Last Stand in Paris: 2012

It was at this point that the remaining leaders of the Europa Coalition knew full well that they did not stand a chance in winning in a prolonged war, Skynet was just too powerful, their only hope was a single decisive strike. So instead every effort was put into locating a target that could crippled Skynet in Europe which would give them the chance they needed to even the odds.

A target came when Intelligence via the use of long range scout planes and through hacking satellites in orbit located the primary Skynet energy storage and production facility in Europe. As well as this signals identified the facility as also being the Relay hub for Skynets network.

It was theorised by engineers and scientists that by destroyed the hub then the Skynet units in Europe and western Russia would be severed from the network and would automatically shut down. So it was decided that Europa would put everything on the line, with their defensive lines breaking down, it was a desperate option.

What remained of the Europa navy had been destroyed off the Dutch Coast, what remained of the forces from the Southern Front were being decimated in the Alpes. It was decided that any and all available for forces would be put to the offensive, in total roughly 22,300 men, tanks, armoured vehicles, helicopters and other aircraft were put to the offensive.

Their target was the Skynet facility in the heart of Paris.

The troops were able to push into France and link up with survivors from previous defensive lines or positions and together marched on Paris. The attack began at the precise time of 11:00 am Greenwich time, it started with long range missile strikes against Skynet anti aircraft batteries that surrounded the facility. With those gone the second stage began with Aircraft performing similar strikes against targets on the ground.

With them keeping the Skynet Aerial Drones busy, the ground units launched their offensive, Infantry supported by armoured vehicles including tanks and APCs pushed through the Exterior defences but paid for each step in blood.

In the end despite putting up a brave fight though, the Aerial units of Europa were soon all destroyed or forced back by Skynet Aerial drones. Without them, the ground forces were mostly defenceless against the Drones in the sky, these drones conducted constant attacks against the armoured units trying to push further.

In the end of the thousands of men and hundreds of vehicles that started the attack, only a few hundred managed to actually get into the Skynet facility. But for those holding the Forward Operating Base at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, which included the high command of the Europa forces, finally discovered what was happening.

Skynet, had reacted far quicker than expected, it had soon responded to the attack by deploying new units. Skynet had huge armoured units in place around the city with Aerial drones performing sweeps across the sky.

Despite a desperate attempt to break out of the encirclement, the remaining forces were easily destroyed and ultimately lost their Forward Operating Base. With it lost, so was the high command and all the transport aircraft that had brought most of the units to the city. Without an  overall command in place now, it was decided by surviving officers agreed that survival was the primary goal now.

It was agreed that surviving Europa troops were to try and fight their way out and then split up into small groups and try and fight a more unconventional war. Barely any managed to get out of the city limits and fewer still got to any kind of relative safety.

Worse news soon spread through rumour and hearsay, apparently the reason that the Europa forces managed to get to Paris was because Skynet was focused on a major offensive meant to wipe out the remaining European armies. The Already weakened defences at the front had been obliterated with few managing to survive and reach safety.

The Europa Coalition was lost, it no longer had any semblance of an army, no leadership and had in all regards lost the fight. What remained of the Europa forces were scattering and seeking shelter, many were taken in by survivor communities.

Europa Unity as the Resistance: 2020

It would take a long time for a co-ordinated resistance to form in Europe, it was primary comprised of civilian militias and remnant elements of the Europa Coalition. It was invigorated when word came via short wave radio of a growing resistance force in the United States.

A resistance that Skynet genuinely considered a threat at times, this organisation was apparently led by a man called John Connor who seemed to have intricate knowledge of Skynet and its capabilities. With his moral support, a co-ordinated resistance slowly started to form in Europe, one that used the vast stores of resources left over from the previous attempt to resist Skynet as well as the various conflicts and militaries across the continent.

Though under the overall command of John Connor in America, the Europa command was in just as much in the fight as anyone else.

Acts for the Resistance:

After countless months of organising, reorganising and preparation, the Resistance of Europa Command was fully set and started making its efforts against Skynet. It started out small with the focus of getting the materials and resources needed to get the Resistance more capable of fighting Skynet itself.

Thankfully various factories and old facilities were relatively salvageable by the Resistance with various materials and equipment being taken to one of the several bases they had put together. This enabled them to produce enough equipment and munitions to fight Skynet as well as repair various vehicles and make them from fuel to electricity.

Within a few years the Europa Command had working armoured vehicles which included improvised APCs (Armoured Personnel Carriers) Improvised armoured trucks, cars and vans with different weapons from 50 Calibre machine guns to anti armour weapons. But also older vehicles such as old tank designs and even a number of helicopters and aircraft.

But such proper military vehicles were kept back for emergencies or for key targets that required additional firepower. It was this careful use of both proper military vehicles as well as the armed and armoured civilian vehicles, the Resistance in Europe were able to gain a number of victories against Skynet both defensively as well as offensively.

Such successes were thanks to aid of John Connors resistance in America which were able to figure out how to turn Skynets own weaponry against them. This meant that instead of using just the standard bullets they were able to use Plasma weaponry that Skynet had created to exterminate humanity. In fact the Resistance of Europa Command resembled more of a professional military from the time before Skynet but were more advanced thanks to the technologies that had been repurposed from Skynet.

The 2nd Siege of London:

In the years after the destruction of the Europa Coalition forces after its final offensive in Paris, Skynet practically abandoned a number of locations. It was assumed that it was consolidating its position around key facilities and sites, among those that was Abandoned was the city of London, which had been reclaimed partly by the civilian survivors that had managed to hide the original war against Skynet.

After a while the civilians were able to establish a Settlement within the ruins of the city near the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace. The rest of the city was a perfect place for scavengers as the city had plenty of materials and goods that could be traded. So the settlement was able to have relatively good period of peace, which was made all the more better under the protection of the Resistance.

But this activity was noticed by Skynet which launched a new attack on the city to wipe out the humans still living there. Thankfully the outposts operated by the Resistance forces in the area discovered the incoming attack and warned the settlement. With the help of the civilians the Resistance were able to get the settlement ready for the attack, the outposts were abandoned in order to concentrate their forces as well as in the event that they needed to evacuate London again.

Thankfully such wasn't required as the Resistance alongside civilian volunteers from the settlement were able to make good enough preparations against the incoming attack. Heavy Plasma weapons were placed on the tops of buildings alongside rocket teams that were both in the optimum position to not just shoot down Skynet HK Aerials but also keep the large Hunter Killer Tanks at a distance.

Though the fighting was tough, the Resistance was able to not just hold back Skynets first wave of attacks but push them back. Though the siege would last for several weeks, unlike the previous siege of London, there was no real pressure to begin evacuation of the settlement or the Resistance as they were actually making headway in fighting back.

So much so that Europa Command actually planned on reinforcing the besieged Resistance forces in the city limits. These reinforcements included fresh supplies and munitions to give the troops already present some breathing space with their supplies, Skynet attempted a total of 9 assaults on the city, with all 9 being defeated by the Resistance forces.

London remained a bastion for the Resistance for most of the war against the Machines, even though Skynet would continue launching attacks against the Resistance base and civilian settlement, each assault was defeated by the defenders. By remaining secure and in Resistance hands, London became a main base of operations for the Resistance with constant updates and upgrades to the cities defences that ensured the cities safety.

The Warsaw Push:

Whilst the Resistance mostly conducted small scale attacks and raids against Skynet whenever it could, there were times that the Europa command did attempt major offensives against the Machines to either destroy a key target or liberate Skynet termination camps.

Such was the target of the Warsaw Push, a major offensive by the combined forces of 6 Resistance units, from Air corps to a Armoured Tank battalion. The target was a major Skynet facility that served a number of purposes, on the one hand it was a manufacturing line, one that produce all kinds of Skynet units, from Terminators to Spiders to HK Aerials.

But that was only one section of the facility, another was focused on Plasma production and storage to serve as a power station for Skynet in the region as well as to supply Plasma for its weaponry. This is why Europa Command deemed it to be a very critical target, one that can cripple Skynets position in Europe and Russia.

So a plan was put in effect to take the facility down permanently, elements of the Resistance from different regions were brought in to be part of the assault. The plan was for the ground forces led by the 141st Armoured group would break through the outer defences with the support of the 117th Air corps which would provide air support as well as land infantry squads into the facility to secure key points, after which they would keep a line of escape open when the job was done.

When they breach the defences, the 4th Tech-Com will take the control centre and access the mainframe, whilst the 2nd Mechanized would take the Plasma production and storage facility. During which the different units would set explosive charges across the facility at key points to ensure that when they had done what they could, they could thoroughly destroy the base utterly.

The plan was successful in every regard, the tanks of the 141st managed to break through the outer defences with limited casualties whilst the 117th provided air support by use of Helicopters and jet fighter bombers. This gave the 4th Tech-com to break into the central facility which housed the mainframe where they hacked into Skynets systems and gleaning a quantity of intelligence and even found a overload system which when activated would cause the complete shutdown of all automated Skynet defences.

More than that it would cause the plasma storage to overload and practically blow themselves up. Such information was passed onto the 2nd Mechanized which was still fighting to clear out Terminators from the Plasma Storage, thankfully since the 4th had alerted them of the overload, the 2nd didn't need to properly press into the storage sections of the facility and instead regrouped with the 4th.

The 4th Tech-Com loaded up into the vehicles of the 2nd Mechanised or the Helicopters from the 117th and gave the word that they were clear and that all Resistance units needed to clear the Skynet base as soon as possible as it was going to explode.

All units managed to withdraw safely from the facility and apparently cheered as they watched the facility go up in flames. This was the first real major success for the Resistance as up until the "Warsaw Push", they had mostly been conducting small acts against Skynet outposts and patrols or had been focused on the defensive, protecting either its own bases and outposts from Skynet attacks or protecting Civilian settlements.

When word spread that the Resistance had managed a major push against the Machines and had actually won, recruitment into the resistance skyrocketed with hundreds joining up to help fight.

The Arrival of the Annihilation Line:

It was roughly in 2029 that Skynet began its final effort to bring about the complete extermination of mankind, it began the Annihilation lines. Across the planet Skynet set up a dedicated frontline that would advance at a steady pace, its singular purpose was to terminate every human it came across.

Some annihilation lines were Continent Spanning like the one in North America, it was the same in Europe. The Annihilation line was establish by Skynet spanning much of the Continent but consisted of two, one that started in the Far East that would push west wards whilst another which began from Portugal and Ireland would press east.

Those humans that were captured by Skynet either before or after the Annihilation line had advanced, would be brought to one of several camps that the Machines had constructed. These camps served a singular purpose the slow and methodical termination of all humans within.

The Annihilation line was methodical and clearly define, lines of HK Tanks and rocket batteries were the mainstay of the line, providing either long range bombardment or armoured destruction, whilst battalions of Terminators like the T-800, the large T-47 alongside hundreds of Armoured Spiders and small scout drones.

Some referred to the Annihilation line as a wave of death that destroyed all in its wake, as Skynet was precise in its purpose, few managed to survive behind the line and fewer still managed to escape from the other side.

When it first arrived, Europa Command of the Resistance was unsure on how it could be held back, many in the ranks either remembered or had heard stories of how the Europa Coalition failed to hold back Skynet when it was at its strongest and had considerably more heavy weapons.

And that was before Skynet had Plasma weaponry, now however the Resistance was going to have to face a force more dangerous than the one that Skynet unleashed during the opening stages of the war.

The Fall of New Madrid:

The Danger of the Annihilation line was proven true when the line approached the civilian settlements and Resistance base in what was the Spanish capitol of Madrid, now rechristened "New Madrid" by the survivors that had started a new settlement within the ruins.

The Advance of the Annihilation line was a great shock for the defences of New Madrid, it took only a few days for the line to advance far enough for New Madrid to be within range of long range Missile barrage. The city was under constant attack by these barrages with most people having to abandon the surface and seeking shelter in Underground, only coming up when the all clear was given.

As the line got closer so the greater threat it became, Resistance command gave the order for a complete evacuation of New Madrid to begin immediately. Evacuation points were established by the Resistance forces around the city, with all civilians to be escorted from said points to camps further to the North East away from the range of Skynet missiles.

Volunteer detachments were formed from the Resistance units around New Madrid as well as fresh recruits from the settlements themselves. These detachments were tasked with readying defensive barricades and emplacements in the path of the lines advance. The goal and hope was to buy time for the evacuations to be completed, for already the Resistance forces further out were trying desperately to hold back the HK tanks and Aerials alongside the hordes of Terminators.

When the Line managed to break through and started surging into the ruined cities, the Evacuation was barely completed with the last transports having to escorted by Resistance vehicles that provided protective fire from HK Aerials.

However every effort to evacuate people grew harder and harder as the Annihilation line pressed forward with every day. At first the Evacuations were a few vehicles, but then they became several then dozens and at the end entire convoys and not just civilians but also Resistance personnel.

By that point the line had cut the city in two, the "Deadzone" and the Free Zone, with HK Aerials conducting sweeps from above as well as dropping Terminators into areas controlled by the Resistance, making it harder and harder for the Defenders to hold back the enemy.

The last transports came under extreme danger during their exfiltration from the city limits, some vehicles were destroyed with all occupants being killed, several more were wounded in the last attempt to get as many people out as possible. After this any surviving units of Resistance soldiers in New Madrid had to try and escape by foot back to friendly lines.

However this was not a forgone conclusion, as only a few dozen from the different units that had volunteered to stay behind and hold back the machines, managed to report in and make their way to safety.

The Annihilation Defence Line:

Thankfully all was not lost, as intelligence gleaned from the loss of New Madrid gave a huge boon for the Resistance.

Just as the Annihilation line in North America had been reportedly halted by South Division near Los Angeles, the Resistance in Europe and Russia were able to put together a means of slowly down the advance of the Line. New means of fighting Skynet were constructed, carefully constructed automated defences that were protected from machine hacking could provide support for the ground forces.

So with these plans the Resistance Command in Europe and Russia began implementing a new order for the Resistance forces within proximity to the Annihilation lines. Defensive systems were set up in the path of the Annihilation lines advance, with each Resistance Division being responsible for their "Sector". Such defences enabled the Resistance to really start make a fight of the War against the Machines, whereas in the past they had primarily done small raids and attacks against the Machines when possible.

Now yet again they were to fight Skynet in open combat, though some were afraid, everyone understood that this wasn't a question of whether they should try and fight. They knew full well there was no other choice, they had to fight, so much effort was put into the fight, units from quiet sectors were brought in to reinforce the sectors that were most at risk of the Line. Armoured companies, Mechanized infantry units, infantry battalions even some Air Corps were brought in to help.

Though there were fears about going into open war with the Machines, the understanding that unlike before, when people could hide and escape Skynets extermination, the Annihilation line could not be avoided. This gave a serious fervour for the Resistance division across the continent, every effort was put into getting their defences ready should the Line advance into their sector.

And it was much needed, for when the Line started moving again, the need for these defence systems became evident as people began to see the sheer power and numbers of the Terminators coming to complete Skynets goal, scores of T-800s, T-47s and the uncountable Spiders and Drones. Behind them were the huge and much feared HK tanks whilst up in the skies, the Aerials circled like vultures

The early battles in resisting the Line were hard fought, the trenches that had been dug deep into the broken ground were under constant attack, both by ground and by air, but the line held. The Anti aircraft batteries were able to keep the HK Aerials at bay, preventing them to fire rockets, strafe the defences with their Plasma cannons or even deploy drop pods filled with T-800s.

The anti armour cannons supported by Artillery and tanks managed to keep the HK Tanks at a distance where the threat of their powerful Plasma Cannons were less of a danger. But each day the Machines tried to push every sector that the Line touched, every hour was a harsh fight to hold them back, often the soldiers were tired from the constant fighting, but were reported in every regard to be glad that they were actually making a difference.

Though Resistance command knew full well that it was only a matter of time before the Line started to move again, by this point the Line extended from the northern coast of Holland down towards Brussels before meandering to Reims then Orleans, west to Poitiers, south to Toulouse, west again into the Pyrenees along the mountains to the Mediterranean sea.

But worse news came from the west, the Resistance in America had discovered something far more dangerous, Skynet had evolved, a new breed of Terminators had been created by the Machines. Skynet had never given up on the infiltration ideas, in the past Terminators meant to infiltrate human survivor groups had existed for a while, but they were always easily identified. But the new Infiltrators were a game changer for the Machines, for they were machines with living tissue over their endoskeletons.

They could bleed, sweat, but were stronger than any Terminator that had come before, a new Plasma weapon system had begun being produced by the Machines instead of the usual Red colouration, it was now a violet colouration and had greater strength in its power. Again Skynet could out class the weaponry of the Resistance.

Just as the new weapons and infiltrators turned the tide in America, so too did it in Europe, the more powerful weapons enabled the Annihilation line to start dealing more and more damage upon the Resistance defenders, the number of those being killed or wounded only increased with each passing day. Resistance command conveyed this information to Commander John Connor in America, they all agreed that it was only a matter of time before the Annihilation lines started to move properly once again.

Operation All or Nothing!:

However word came from America, a soldier of the South Division, Sergeant Jacob Rivers had managed to identify the location of Skynets Central Core, the most important Target, if the Resistance could destroy it, then Skynet would completely shut down and every terminator and machine would go down with it.

Alongside that, a scientist with Sergeant Rivers assistance managed to crack the Skynet Codes that enabled the Resistance to produce their own Mark 2 plasma Rifles, matching the power of the newest Skynet models. Such was expanded on further to make it so that even larger vehicles could have Plasma weapons of their own, tanks with powerful Plasma cannons, helicopters with weapons similar to that of the HK Aerials.

But that was the end of the good news.

For worse was to come, for Skynet had concentrated a great deal of resources and materials in the creation of a new class of weapon, one that could forever end the war in favour of the Machines. This weapon according to Commander John Connor was called a T.D.E, Time Displacement Equipment, in effect a time machine. According to intelligence Skynet intended to use the T.D.E to send the newest infiltrator models back in time to terminate key targets.

If successful then the resistance would lose the war before it ever truly began, in effect, Skynet would win before it even existed. Seeing this, leaders of the Resistance across the globe agreed that the need for an all or nothing assault was necessary to take the facility that housed the Central Core was needed now more than ever.

John Connor asked Resistance commands across the globe to launch major offensives on critical targets whilst the units under his direct command launched simultaneous attacks both on the Central Core but also the T.D.E Facility. For he knew that Skynet would recognise that if there was even a chance for the Resistance destroying its central Core, then its only choice would be the T.D.E.

He hoped that such attacks would either divert Skynet forces away from the real targets or deny Skynet the ability to bring reinforcements from other continents. So Europa Command began looking over all options for their offensive, one stuck out, the site of the Europa Coalitions final great offensive, its last stand.

They chose the Prime Skynet facility in Europe, the city of Paris, where Skynet had not only built a production facility to make new terminators but also a major power relay station that funnelled plasma energy through underground cables straight to the T.D.E facility in America.

It was decided that due to the risk of the T.D.E and the Central Core offensives, then Europa would risk it all, they gave the mission the Operational name that practically summed up their opinions of the mission itself, "OPERATION ALL OR NOTHING" in effect, they were committing everything that they had left, every aircraft, every tank, armoured vehicle regardless if they were actual military vehicles or converted civilian.

They even brought out large cargo transport aircraft that they had kept sealed away in storage, including salvaged U.S C5As,Bs and Cs that had been left in American Air bases in Europe. These would be used to transport in the majority of the ground forces including the Armoured vehicles and tanks.

The forces amassed in secret at a Resistance base south of Paris, in friendly territory in an area formerly known as Pont sur Seine. In total nearly the combined forces of Europa Command and Western Russian Command had been gathered. Everyone understood the risk involved, if they failed then the Resistance in Europe would not have any reserves to reinforce the Annihilation Defence Line if the Machines made a big push.

When word came that Connor was prepared to make his move on the T.D.E whilst the 124th was getting ready to destroy the Central Core. Resistance Command in Europe was given the word to make their move, they needed to be fully committed and get Skynet committed to the battle to give Connor a chance at taking the T.D.E facility.

Their first goal was to make solid position in the city to use as a base of operations to orchestrate their efforts in taking the facility, as well as a place for the Wounded to be brought in and medevac out. For this it was decided that the 117th Air corps along with the 91st Infantry, 109th Airborne and the 700th Shock troopers would enter the city by helicopter and secure several locations.

These would include the De Gaulle Airport which would serve as the main forward base for the Resistance, this would be the 117ths and 91sts target in support of the 700th. The 109th would land further to the south west in the heart of the city, where they were to secure the Fort de Noisy a military barracks in Paris, which would serve as a staging point for the resistance push further into the city.

When these targets had been secured, then reinforcements would be brought in on aircraft and helicopters this would included armoured units that would then go directly into combat. Such took a toll on the soldiers taking part, though the units were successful in taking their targets, a great number of lives were lost in the process, but the beach head had been formed.

But the Resistance forces pressed on with every effort to take the facility and bring about its end, they all knew that this was all or nothing. As one officer had declared to his men on the flite in, "You have two ways to end this day.... Victory... by killing Skynet or Death.... You are the last of the last". Every man and woman fighting that day knew well that if they could achieve this victory then their comrades in America could end this war for good.

For days the Resistance battled, when word came through that Connor and his North Division in America had launched their attack on the T.D.E facility. Europa Command stayed in contact with North Division during their own offensive, keeping each other aware of what was happening.  This word spread through the units, which invigorated the determination of the Resistance troops, they were able to break through the main defensive systems surrounding the facility enabling the ground forces to breach into the interior of the city.

As news came from Connor that the Resistance vanguard under Sergeant Rivers had broken through Skynets first defence grid and was pushing in, whilst at the same time the 124th had located the Central Core and were about to launch their attack. The Europa Command put more into the attack, they ordered the 41st Armoured alongside the 103rd and 112th Mechanised to push from the Fort de Noisy, towards the Eiffel Tower which was near the main production line for the Facility, they were supported by the 81st Artillery as well as 117th Air Corps.

Bad news soon came from America when North Command reported that they had detected that Skynet was attempting to activate the T.D.E, in effect it had realised that the Resistance was going to win the war. Its only option now was to start sending Terminators back in time in order to eliminate those most responsible for the Resistance Victory.

Knowing full well that they needed to breach the main facility and fast in order to give Connors unit a chance to take the T.D.E, Europa Command had no choice but to give the word, every unit was to go on the offensive and take that facility regardless of the cost. Every aircraft was scrambled even those that were partly damaged, tanks and vehicles were brought out in droves.

Yet despite it all only a few managed to breach the defences and get into the facility, among them were the 700th shock troopers and elements of 4th Tech Com. But they were soon facing great numbers of T-800s within the facility and couldn't get even remotely close to the main controls.

When suddenly every Terminator, T-47 and HK Tank stopped as if frozen, whilst above HK aerials and drones began falling from the sky. At first everyone was shocked and somewhat dazed, but then the call went out on all radios channels.

"The 124th have done it!!, they've destroyed the Central Core!!... Skynet is dead!!!".

Victory at last.

Following this victory, there was much work to be done, the Resistance forces in Paris spent weeks tending to the wounded and giving the dead proper burials. All the while the Tech Com experts and scientists got to work on the Skynet computers, for Connors had reported in that before the 124th was successful in destroying the central core, Skynet had managed to send back three terminators back in time.

The only option they had now to ensure the future and preserve the victory they had achieved was to send protectors back to ensure the safety of those marked for termination, to do that they needed the T.D.E fully operational. So the plasma facility in Paris was quickly restored and sending the much needed power to the T.D.E, whilst a T-800 infiltrator was transported over for a reprogrammed chip to be used to make the Terminator a protector.

The three protectors and targets were clear,

A terminator was sent back to kill John Connors mother before he could be born, Sergeant Kyle Reese was selected for this mission.

The reprogrammed Terminator would be sent back to protect John himself from the T-1000 prototype.

Whilst Sergeant Jacob Rivers would go back to protect himself since he had been the one to locate the Central Core which enabled the victory.

But for those that stayed the long task of rebuilding was now to begin...

The Commands of Europa:

Just as with other Resistance commands across the world that had unified under Commander John Connor, the Europa Command organised itself like a fully functional military. This was made all the more achieved due to a number of individuals notably officers were former military who had experience of fighting Skynet during the early years in the war against the Machines.

This meant that the Resistance of Europa Command was able to properly organise itself into different commands that would work in conjunction with each other.

However this didn't mean that all commands were equal, some commands were protected more than others due to some commands having pieces of equipment such as more heavily armed and armoured vehicles that couldn't be needless sacrificed.

Infantry Command:

The largest single command in the Europa Resistance, with thousands of soldiers divided into different units and sectors. The Infantry command were initially just a collection of different militias and remnant elements of the old militaries, however as time went on the Infantry command turned the units under its umbrella into genuine military units with proper training and partially standardized equipment.

Originally the Infantry units were issued with weapons of all kinds, from former military weapons including the HK416, the FAMAS, the SA80, the G36, various AK variants alongside other weapons from the MP5 to the AR 18. But as Skynet began using Plasma based weapons, the Resistance was quick to respond, thanks to scientists in America, the Resistance was able to copy and produce their own phase 1 Plasma rifles and other Plasma based weaponry.

Europa Command quickly began to decommission the projectile weapons from times before the war and ordered the construction of various Plasma production sites to produce the munitions needed for the new weapons. In just a few months, the Infantry command was completely outfitted with Plasma weaponry both of Skynet and Resistance manufacturing.

For the most part Infantry command worked in conjunction with one of the other Commands for missions and actions against Skynet. The Command was internally divided into two separate areas of focus, Offensive and Defensive with the units with Infantry Command alternating between the two.

Mechanized Command:

Both an offensive and supporting command, the Mechanized units of this Command served a variety of roles.

Mechanized command comprised of all units that were focused on mobility and armoured vehicles that were not tanks or heavy vehicles. This meant that Mechanized command comprised on former military A.P.Cs, armoured cars like the Humvee, armoured trucks improvised from the civilian vehicles.

The prime role of Mechanized command was to act as supporting unit to other commands, for example, Mechanized units would transport infantry units and support them with heavy weapons fire from their vehicles during their missions before transporting the troops out of the combat zone when the job was either done or proved impossible to complete.

At first Mechanized command consisted of refitted and repaired military vehicles but as these grew scarcer, the Resistance started to produce new vehicles, improvised from civilian vehicles like lorries, trucks, cars and vans, their engines refitted to be electrical rather than fuel based. Armoured being welded and fitted with weapons placed upon their tops, these can be recoilless rifles, heavy calibre machine guns, grenade launchers, TOW missile launchers even SAM launchers to repel HK Aerials.

Just as with other commands, when Plasma weaponry were issued, the Mechanized Units of this command were quick to remove their old projectile weapons in favour of newer plasma weaponry both light and heavy. Recoilless rifles were replaced with those that launched explosive and armour piercing plasma shots, 50 Calibres were turned over in favour of Heavy rapid firing plasma weapons.

And it wasn't just the weapons, but armour as well, tests were done to replace the armour plating of the different vehicles to make them a little bit safer for those within when they came under fire from Skynet Plasma weapons.

When not in active missions against Skynet, the units of Mechanized command worked to aid in the transportation of men and materials between different locations and bases. If a civilian population needed to be evacuated then a detachment from a Mechanized unit would either be the transport or the escort.

Armoured Command:

A relatively small command, the units under the Armoured Command umbrella are all those of armoured battalions, so any unit that has a number of tanks and heavy armoured vehicles.

Armoured Command is rather small due to the limitations of replacing the tanks themselves, as most of the vehicles that Armoured Command possess are either those that survived the early battles with Skynet or are salvaged from various facilities that had been left following the end of the Cold War.

They possess a mixture of tank varieties, from modern tanks to more outdated models that have been refitted and repurposed for the fight against the Machines. Alongside these they possess a number of armoured personnel carriers which are fitted with heavy weaponry to act as support units for the tanks, as well as transport for escorting infantry.

However the lack of ability to replace tanks properly means that the units under Armoured Command are kept back for only the most important offensives. This usually is when heavy Skynet machinery or defences are present, such as T-47s and the far more dangerous HK Tanks.

Originally like all other units, the Armoured Command units were serviced with projectile weapons which were relatively easy to replace thanks to the vast stockpiles left over or could be repurposed for more modern weaponry. But this changed with Skynet unleashing Plasma weaponry, thanks to the efforts of Resistance scientists, like the Infantry being given plasma rifles to replace their old weapons, the tanks of Armoured Command were brought to various Resistance bases where they were serviced.

Their armour was replaced with more updated schematics to give them better protection from Plasma weaponry and their main guns were removed and replaced with powerful Plasma cannons that were basically copies of the types used by Skynet.

Airborne Command:

Despite the name, Airborne Command are not units that jump from airplanes and then parachute to the ground to fight the enemy. Rather instead they are infantry units that are transported by helicopter, land or rope down into combat zones and then retreat to those same helicopters when the mission is complete.

Airborne command are usually a mix of mission priorities, they often required to undertake one of three mission categories. They conduct long range recon missions where they get dropped off to perform observation of a Skynet facility or outpost, Long range assaults, where the Airborne units attacks a facility or outpost that is too far for other units to attack.

Or they can act as a supporting unit, such as during the Warsaw Push, where Airborne units secured key points and took out defensive positions to allow the ground forces to move in.

The units of Airborne Command use a variety of transport Helicopters though they don't have gunships as they belong to a separate command, they often work in close conjunction and partnership with said command. The Helicopters they possess are all small and large transports, from the Black Hawks, to the Osprey VTOL, the Chinook, Mi 8s, Mi 17s and even a collection of Advanced prototype VTOL helicopters that were being tested in Europe by the Americans.

However like other vehicle based commands, the needs of fuel outweighed the Resistances ability to refuel and resupply, so all aircraft of Airborne Command were quickly refitted when Plasma power cells were produced by Skynet. All the Helicopters of Airborne Command work entirely on these Plasma cells just like HK Aerials.

Artillery Command:

Divided into two sections, long range and medium range, Artillery command are the main ground support unit during offensive and defensive missions for the Resistance in Europe and western Russia.

Medium range are units comprising of heavy mortars and small artillery guns that support combat units, whilst Long Range are made up of various forms of heavy artillery. These can be towed artillery guns, pulled by heavy weight vehicles, to mobile artillery guns that require no towing for they were vehicles of their own.

And it wasn't just guns but also missile and rocket launchers, like the GMARS that could fire a barrage a great distance. All these vehicles and guns were manned with individuals that were thoroughly drilled and practiced with experienced officers in charge that ensured that every shot was accurate.

Artillery Command solely worked a support role for other units, on the offensive they bombarded Skynet machines and structures to allow other ground forces to complete their goals. In defensive missions the units of Artillery Command provided active fire support, being targeted in onto the most dangerous machines or onto large groupings of terminators and other machines.

Just as with all vehicle commands, the needs of fuel meant that for a good while Artillery command notably their mobile vehicles often were focused on defensive missions. But when Plasma power became available, the vehicles were refitted with plasma cell engines so they no longer needed fuel to work. Despite attempts, it proved very difficult to make Plasma artillery weaponry in the numbers required for the various types of weaponry Artillery Command possessed.

Gunship Command:

The Main air supporting units, Gunship command is similar in respect to Airborne command who they often work in close conjunction.

Gunship command counter the transport aircraft of Airborne command, they possess solely combat helicopter craft of varying type. These include helicopters such as the Apache, the Cobra but also transport helicopters that had been refitted into combat aircraft, Black Hawks were turned into gunships with mini guns and rocket launchers, Iroquois of different ages had all kinds of weapons fitted to them alongside their door guns.

Gunship command served as a supporting unit for ground troops, they served in offensive and escort missions, this usually entailed performing strafing runs and ground support fire to help those below. If required they will engage HK Aerials when they come into attack, though it was often told to the pilots and gunners to strike at those targets from a distance when possible to avoid risking their aircraft.

When not on offensive missions they are called on as as individual helicopters or in pairs to escort ground convoys moving around in areas where Skynet was possibly active, acting as aerial scouts and protection if needed.

Just as with all other vehicles of the Resistance as soon as Plasma weaponry and power cells became available, all weapons and helicopters of Gunship were refitted with new weapons, armour and engine systems that made them at least partially on equal terms with the Skynet Machines.

Fighter Command:

An extreme rarity among Resistance groups across the planet including those under the direct command of John Connor, Fighter Command are very unique. For they are a command comprised entirely of jet fighter and fighter bombers alongside older variants of aircraft to bolster its numbers.

Due to the extreme losses during the early years of fighting Skynet, meant that Fighter Command was when compared to other commands in Europe was by far the smallest. It had in its roster less than 10 battle groups these in turn had around 5 squadrons per group but most of the time these squadrons were primarily being made up of 5 or 6 aircraft rather than 10 or 12 as was the case in the past.

Due to the limitations of Fighter command in regards of aircraft, Fighter Command was made up of pilots of all kinds using a variety of aircraft. Pilots could fly Eastern European MIGs, British Harriers to American aircraft like F22 prototypes, A10 thunderbolts to F15s, they even used a variety of prototypes that were being developed before the war.

All of these aircraft were used sparingly since replacing them was near impossible if not down right impossible. Since the factories that built parts or put aircraft together were lost in Judgement day and the majority of the people who knew the aircraft best were all killed either during Judgement day or in the early years of the war.

So when possible, Resistance command tried to hold back fighter command for the most important of missions, such as the Warsaw Push and the Annihilation defence line. Often in defensive duties, where squadrons would take off to engage HK Aerials moving to attack important locations controlled by the Resistance.

They were brought in to support the ground forces as well as the Gunships, they would provide air support as well as engage the HK Aerials in direct air to air combat, though the orders were clear, should it become too dangerous then Fighter Command were to withdraw.

Officers + Units of Europa Command:

Commander Amadou De Bankole: Europe C.I.C

A survivor of the last stand of the Europa Coalition, Commander Bankole was there for much of the fighting on the western front, he rose through the ranks rather rapidly both due to his proven ability as a leader. But also because of the high casualty rate during the fights against Skynet, by the time he and his unit were sent to take part in the final offensive on Paris, he was a Major leading his own battalion.

His unit was badly decimated during the fighting with only a few dozen managing to sneak past Skynet drones and reaching the countryside, where they were taken in by a survivor community near the city of Amiens. From there he linked up with other elements that had survived either Paris or the collapse of the Coalition and together they formed a new resistance group.

In the early years, Bankole and his resistance primarily performed small raids meant to distract Skynet Patrols from Survivors conducting scavenging runs. But when Communications were made with America and Bankole learned of the resistance movement under John Connor, Bankole and his fighters joined with Connor naming Bankole as the Commander of the Resistance in Europe.

Under him the resistance in Europe became a full fledged organised insurgency, with various divisions in operation across the continent, each unit was under his orders expected to uphold the purge protocol. This meant that if they came under direct attack by Skynet then if there was no chance of them holding a base or outpost then they were to ensure all data relevant to other divisions would be destroyed.

This ensured that if one division was lost then the threat to others was mitigated.

He also stipulates that Resistance forces are to provide support to Civilian settlements, this was usually by providing protection to the settlements from Skynet units as well as providing evacuation should it be necessary.

Bankole was also one of the few individuals permitted to know the locations of all Resistance bases as well as the encrypted radio channels they used to keep in contact. Among which was a direct communication link to other Resistance Commands across the globe including the American resistance under John Connor.

During the final battle of the war in Europe, Operation All or Nothing, Commander Bankole did his best to help, he went with other elements of Resistance command to the De Gaulle airport to take direct command in the fight. He never lied to them when it was told that this was it, they either win that battle or lose the whole war.

When asking for volunteers to make one last final push on the Paris Skynet facility.

"Through this terrible war, I have seen much... you know what I see today?, I see the very best of us.

You have fought with courage, with Heart, for the love of those who stand beside you... not a single one of you has anything to prove....

It has been my greatest honour to have led such brave souls...

and that above all else, makes me feel you deserve the truth....

The Machines are coming.... Skynets numbers are overwhelming... we won't be able to hold 'em back forever... anyone who stands with us.... likely will not survive the day....

But that stand will not be for nothing.... as we speak John Connor himself is leading an attack on Skynets ultimate weapon whilst the 124th are moving to destroy its Central Core....

Consider where we are... less than a century ago, ordinary people of Paris rose up against their occupiers.... they didn't need any fancy weapons or tanks.... they only needed the warrior inside of them... and we are their descendants.... that Warrior is in each of us...

The Warrior that is willing to fight and die for your homes, your families, your future...

For every moment we can hold Skynet at bay.... gives Connor the time he needs to end this fight for good.... and When it is, History shall tell our story... you will be remembered as the men and women who gave their lives...

So that our children could live in the sun and without the scars of War....

So who among you are willing to show Skynet why you don't fuck with Humanity!"

When Skynet was defeated, Bankole reorganised the European resistance into a formal peacekeeping force focused on helping the survivors in rebuilding the world. This included helping to get the settlements sustainable, using skynet materials to make viable farms and greenhouses. On top of that he organised a series of searchers to find and uncover other survivors that had been in hiding since Judgement day.

Commander Ksenia Mikhailova: West Russia C.I.C

A survivor from the battle of Moscow, Commander Mikailova took over command of all forces in Western Russia when they reorganised themselves into the Resistance. She earned such a position by her refusal to give up in the early years, she led a small unit of Russian soldiers and civilian militia in a guerrilla campaign against the Machines.

When the Resistance was properly formed and organised, Ksenia was chosen among all the Russian officers to serve as the Commander in Chief of the Western Russian Forces, which would work in close conjunction with the Europa Resistance Command.

Commanding the Western Russian Resistance forces, she primarily works from a Resistance base that was a converted old Soviet cold war missile silo base, though the location of which was kept strictly classified with only a few being allowed to know the exact location. Though there are certain occasions when she takes to the field herself to take direct command of an attack against the Machines.

An example of such can be in the Resistance strike of a Skynet research facility in St Petersburg, a place where captured civilians and resistance fighters were experimented on whilst they were still alive.

Since she was commander in chief in Western Russia she maintained close communications with Commander Bankole in Europe as well as Commander John Connor in America alongside other Resistance local commands in Asia and the Middle east.

When Operation All or Nothing was proposed, she ordered all available Resistance forces in western Russia to link up with the Europa Command forces in their attack on Paris. She herself worked alongside Commander Bankole in the Forward Operating Base in the De Gaulle airport in organising the efforts to take the facility.

With the defeat of the Machines, she returned to Russia with the forces under her command to start the process of rebuilding.

Captain Antonia Calvino: 4th Tech Com

A Captain of her own Tech Com unit. This same unit became recognised by Resistance command for its efforts in numerous offensives against the machines, including the Warsaw Push.

Her unit primarily operated out of a Resistance base in the Italian Alpes, where her unit worked on all kinds of projects and missions for the Resistance. This included figuring out ways of improving the Plasma weapons that the Resistance made to fight the Machines, like for instance, large plasma cannons for tanks and armoured vehicles.

The main focus of Captain Calvino and her Tech Com unit was primarily on hacking Skynet systems or helping the Scientists and engineers in constructing the defence systems that were needed to repel Skynet attacks.

During Operation All or Nothing, she led her unit in securing key network systems that enabled the Resistance forces to better co-ordinate themselves against the Machines as well as ensuring that their communications remained secure. But when things got desperate, she personally led an assault on the Prime Facility with her unit to try and get to the central controls so they could shut it down.

With Skynets defeat though, she found her work now about getting things going again, she and her Tech-Com unit, those that had survived at least were tasked with getting things going in the facility so that they could better assist the Resistance scientists and engineers with the T.D.E.

She was then tasked with helping with the disassembly of Terminators and retrofitting of Skynet facilities in Europe.

Captain Alexei Severin: 700th Shock Troop

Captain Severin was present during the first siege of London where he was wounded and safely medecav out of the siege before the fighting was over. He continued to fight the Machines in mainland Europe but was not present in the final offensive of the Europa Coalition in Paris.

He rallied other survivors and together formed an elite shock force of highly trained elite soldiers for the Resistance. The 700th Shock troop were never a force meant for defensive actions, they were solely an offensive force they were trained to attack, raid and destroy Skynet outposts and facilities.

The 700th Shock troop received most of its training on the job, whilst they do have training to a certain extent, the 700th was selective with those allowed to join its ranks. Only the best of different Resistance units were allowed to join the 700th and so there often was little need for training except on the Job.

During Operation All or Nothing, the 700th was chosen to lead the assault in the first wave, To try and boost the determination of his soldiers, as the unit flew in on the helicopters into Paris under constant barrage of the Machines anti aircraft guns, he gave a speech over the communications for everyone to hear, not just the 700th.

"It is with a heavy heart that I address you tonight... because I am proud to tears... to see you all in your greatest glory...

You are the vicious hounds of combat, the Dogs of war... who are only unleashed when everyone else has failed...

Because... It is this day that shall forever be etched into the history books...

Brothers ands sisters... you are the best there is... the meanest bastards this Resistance has to offer...

Like no other time in history... your people need you!

You have two ways to end this day.... Victory... by killing Skynet or Death.... You are the last of the last

So fight hard... and fight mean... and fight to the last shot..."

Allegedly just as the Helicopter was about to land, he opened the doors, turned back and declared "I'll see you all in hell.... You bastards of the 700th". The 700th were noted in their successful taking the De Gaulle airport where they took a considerable number of casualties, they were rested for a few days but were then called on again to take part in the last desperate attack to gain control of the central Skynet facility.

Captain Alexei Severin was killed in the final push to take the main Skynet Facility leading his soldiers from the frontlines.

Captain Hana Sustek: 112th Mechanized

She worked at a improvised factory producing munitions for the Coalition forces as well as working on repairing and refitting military vehicles for the fight.

After the Coalition collapsed following its last stand in Paris, she led a few others in taking a collection of vehicles both civilian and military and forging a new resistance cell. The unit later became integrated into to the Europa Resistance command with the new moniker of the 112th Mechanized battalion.

The 112th under Captain Sustek took part in several raids and attacks against Skynet, but primarily served as either an escorting force for convoys, or as a transport and support unit, where they would transport infantry units to the battle then set up close by to provide fire support. Her command method as well as her own tactical ideology was speed and manoeuvrability, in Captain Susteks mind, remaining static endangers her troops and vehicles whilst remaining mobile protects them.

During Operation All or Nothing, the 112th were brought in on the second wave of aircraft after the De Gaulle Airport landing strips had been secured. As soon as they were unloaded they were sent straight into the battle, aiding ground troops in pushing closer and closer as well as transporting infantry units and towing turrets around the city to provide fire support.

She and the 112th took part in the final attempt to breach the Skynet defences around the central facility in the heart of Paris, though they themselves didn't get in, their fire support aided ground troops to get inside.

Following the defeat of Skynet, the 112th were given new orders of ferrying men and supplies around Europe to aid in the rebuilding efforts to support Civilian settlements.

Captain Marcus Peters: 113th Infantry

He was in the Royal Army Cadets when Judgement Day occurred, since he was away on a training exercise at the time, he managed to escape the worst of the Bombs. He readily joined up to the Europa Coalition in the battles against Skynet in the early years, where he fought in the early attempts to prevent Skynet from landing its machines onto British Shores.

Though he wasn't part of the Coalitions final offensive on Paris, he was present when the Last Coalition base was destroyed by Skynet machines. He with a few others managed to escape before the base was utterly lost.

For months they survived on the run, scavenging for what they needed to survive, eventually they were contacted by other surviving elements of the Coalition forces that joined up with a Resistance organisation. Peters and the others joined up and took part in several raids against Skynet outposts.

He eventually was promoted to Captain and placed in charge of the 113th Infantry Battalion. Mostly the 113th was tasked with defensive actions, such as guarding Resistance outposts, bases as well as protecting Civilian Settlements.

The first major engagement the 113th took part in under Captain Peters, was the Annihilation Defence Line, where he unit was tasked with holding the sector near the French town of Troyes south of Paris. This same Sector was also the rallying point for Operation All or Nothing, they were replaced with another unit and brought in on the Second wave into Paris for the operation.

Again Peters was placed on the defensive, helping to protect the De Gaulle Airport and its runways that were vital for the Operation, as it was the main base for the Resistance Offensive.

After Skynet was defeated, Peters and his Infantry were re-tasked with aiding the search for survivors and the medevac of the wounded.

Captain Danielle Ciery: 117th Air-Corps

Commanding one of the few Helicopter units that survived the collapse of the Europa Coalition.

The prime duty of the 117th Air-corps is to serve as a support unit either by providing limited air support for ground forces or transporting troops and supplies between bases, outposts and targeted locations.

The 117th were credited during the Warsaw Push when despite the heavy resistance in the air, they were able to successfully provide gunship support for the ground attack.

When the Annihilation line arrived in Europe, the 117th were retasked with supporting the withdrawal of Resistance outposts as well as aiding in the evacuation of civilian settlements in the direct path of the Machines. When the Defence line was established, the air Corps didn't see direct combat, but instead provided support by ferrying supplies and munitions between different Sectors as well as aiding in the Medevac of the wounded.

Her unit was called on for a death or glory mission during the opening stages of Operation All or Nothing, where the 117th was part of the first wave of air attacks, with Captain Ciery leading her corps through the heavy flak to get the troops from the 91st, to the De Gaulle Airport. Afterwards they either conducted aerial support as gunships or by supporting the arrival of the second and third aircraft waves.

A great number of the 117th were shot down during the Operation, with those that survived being re-tasked following Skynets defeat to provide medevac for the wounded and then to conduct aerial searches for Survivors.

Captain Diana Olsen: 81st Artillery

Armed with a variety of mobile and set artillery pieces, the 81st Artillery battalion is strictly a fire support unit and is often the last ground unit to withdraw from a combat zone.

Commanded by Captain Diana Olsen who was a survivor from the United States military base at Ramstein Germany, she alongside other engineers and technicians helped to refit the the different Artillery vehicles which include M109A7 Paladins, M142 HIMARS, M270A1 MLRS, AS90 self-propelled Howitzers as well as all kinds of towed artillery pieces both light and heavy.

The 81st Artillery were always called up to take part in missions against Skynet only when absolutely necessary since the Artillery pieces were of considerable importance to the Resistance.

Their biggest contribution was when it was divided into Companies and platoons to assist in the Annihilation Defence Line, where the different guns were used to support the defence systems against the Machines.

The unit was then recalled to be part of the third wave in Operation All or Nothing, after the De Gaulle Airport had been secured properly, they placed their long range batteries and rocket launchers around the Airport to support the ground units in other areas of the City, whilst the Self Propelled guns were more mobile to provide more concentrated artillery support.

Captain Hans Jager: 41st Armoured

One of the few surviving Tank units to survive the fall of the Europa Coalition, however it took a lot of damage. So the Battalion was repurposed with a variety of different tanks and vehicles after the formation of the Resistance.

The 41st were formally restructured into the Resistance under the command of Captain Hans Jager, a tank officer who had survived the early battles with Skynet. Under him the 41st made use of all kinds of tanks from across Europe, from American Abrams, the German Leopard, the T-72, the Leclerc and the British Challenger. But they also had to use more outdated tank models, from the different stages of the Cold War.

When Plasma Weapons were brought into the fight and the Resistance managed to figure out how to use and even mass produce them, the 41st like all units in the Europa Command were refitted with Plasma weaponry, with the Tanks in their care being taken apart and put back together again except now with powerful plasma cannons instead of the old projectiles.

Since there was no way of easily replacing tanks, though the Resistance could repurpose vehicles and make improvised tanks, the real risk of losing genuine tanks, meant that the 41st Armoured were often carefully selected for very specific missions.

Captain Jackson Ryan: 103rd Mechanized

Comprised of survivors from the United States military base, Chievres Air Base in Belgium as well as fresh recruits and replacements and commanded by Captain Jackson Ryan formerly of the United States Marines, Ryan was one of those lucky enough to survive the Nuclear blasts sent by the Machines during the Opening strikes.

However he suffered a number of scars as a result of being close to the aftermath, something that he doesn't like people staring at.

Under him the survivors from the U.S bases across Europe stood alongside the Europa Coalition with the idea being of holding onto Europe and then using it as a spring board for taking the fight to Skynet in America.

However following the collapse of the Organised militaries in Europe after the last stand in Paris, he and his fellow Americans retreated to a secluded location where they salvaged various materials and armoured vehicles mostly armoured Personnel Carriers, A.P.Cs.

These were almost entirely American equipment, including the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the M117 A.P.C, the Stryker A.P.C, armoured Humvees, as well as various trucks, vans and lorries that have been repurposed into armoured transports and fighting vehicles.

Primarily the 103rd act as a support unit, with them transporting infantry units or towing weapon systems such as Gun turrets. Whilst also using S.A.M missiles, Mini guns and rapid fire plasma cannons to fight off HK Aerials, either shooting them down or forcing them off the ground troops.

They took part in several attacks against Skynet, they supported the Warsaw Push, the relief to the Siege of London and again during the Evacuation of New Madrid.

During Operation All or Nothing, they were on the Third wave of transport aircraft into Paris, where they were instantly sent into the fight, they were sent to reinforce the 109th Airborne at the Hospital front and support them in pushing Skynet away from an additional Helicopter landing zone.

During the fight they took a considerable number of casualties and during the last desperate push to take the Central Skynet facility, they were forced to pull back when Skynet countered with a pair of HK Tanks.

Captain Stepan Ushakov: 109th Airborne:

Consisting of survivors of various nation militaries specifically those from units with previous experience in conducting parachuting, as well as recruited civilians with similar experience.

Commanded by a survivor from the collapse of the Eastern Front, Captain Stephan Ushakov was only a corporal in the Russian Airborne infantry when he fought Skynet in open battle. He was lucky enough to survive the horrors of the Eastern Front and linked up with the Resistance when he was able too.

Despite the name, the 109th like other Airborne units of the Resistance didn't really conduct missions by jumping out of Airplanes and parachuting down to the earth. Instead they were units that would be dropped off by helicopter into combat zones to engage the enemy, complete their mission then re-board said helicopters and get back out again.

Ushakov and the 109th were veterans by the time of Operation All or Nothing, they were known to conduct long range recon missions as well as helicopter led assaults on Skynet Facilities with their mission to be to get inside and let more heavily armed units in.

This was their role during "All or Nothing, they were tasked with flying through the toughest anti air positions around Paris to secure their designated target. Half of the Battalion was lost either during their flite into Paris or during the fight to secure the Barracks.

Among those lost was Captain Ushakov himself, whose Helicopter was shot down just as it got close to the Barracks.

During the final hour, despite having lost four out of every five soldiers, the 109th volunteered to go back into the fight in support of other Resistance units in trying to push into the main Skynet Facility.

Captain Walter Peterson: 92nd Air Group

A force consisting of Air combat, the 92nd Air Group was one of the few air groups to survive the War against the Machines.

Consisting of entirely an fighter and bomber group, the 92nd were primarily focused during most of the war on defensive actions. When the Machines sent out HK Aerials into a sector that was of critical importance for the Resistance, then the 92nd were scrambled to intercept them.

Under the command of Wing Captain Walter Peterson who before the war was a fighter pilot in the United States Military. He was one of the lucky ones to survive Judgement day and the obliteration of the United States military.

After surviving the fall of Europe, he linked up with Resistance elements that were working to restore a number of fighter jets as well as refit them to make them more resource sufficient. Basically make it so that they were not going through as much fuel as they used to be as well as attempts to make them electrically powered over fuel.

He took command of the 92nd in the months leading up to the Warsaw push, he then led the Group in their defensive missions in holding back the Annihilation line in the Sector around Troyes primarily holding back HK aerials and using anti armour missiles to take down HK Tanks.

During Operation All or Nothing, the 92nd were the first wave of attackers with their squadrons of fighter bombers targeting the Skynet defence turrets and protect the Helicopters and then later escorting the large transport aircraft into Paris.

During this battle the 92nd like other Air groups were hit hard, with 70% of them being shot down, the pilots were under constant pressure with them having little time for rest and recuperation, often they would land at the De Gaulle Airport refuel, reload and then go straight back out.

When Skynet was defeated, the survivors of the 92nd alongside other Air groups were folded together into a single air group and tasked with conducting long range recon to find other survivors and pin point now derelict Skynet outposts and facilities.
