The Age of Heroes: The Sentinels

I wish to make clear however that I do not make any stories from my short stories, though I may one day try and publish properly though this is not definite.
The Champions Alliance/ Sentinel:
The reason for this reform was because of the lack of support many super Heroes were receiving, many had families, were having to work to make ends meet, all the while having to try and help the people of the cities they lived in. So in response a few super heroes who were multi millionaires and later Billionaires came together and reformed Sentinel, with the intention of providing Super Heroes the backing they needed to ensure that when they go off to save the world they don't have to worry about everyday things.
One cause was following the loss of a member, a hero who was so driven to helping people and trying to do the right thing that they sacrificed everything. They apparently slept on the floor on a filthy mattress, ate cheap convenience store food, fixed themselves when they got hurt and more, sadly this self imposed impoverished lifestyle led to them getting incredible sick and since they never asked for help, the Hero was later found in their rundown home, laying on their mattress having passed away. This shocked the world, as this particular hero became the rallying cry for "Support our Heroes", people everywhere started to see the physical and emotional cost of being a Super Hero and many cried out, calling on governments to support their super heroes.
Sentinel under this system provides Super Heroes who join a whole manner of benefits and support structures, they receive a stipend each month to support themselves and their loved ones, they receive medical care in specially built hospitals, if any there are any pieces of equipment or tech that need fixing or upgrading, Sentinel has engineers and technicians capable of doing it all. If a Super Hero dies in the line of duty then the next of kin receive compensation for the loss of their loved one as well as support in the future.
And of course Sentinel provides help to Super Heroes in less obvious ways, they have a team of top therapists on stand by ready to provide help to Heroes who feel that they need to talk to someone, in fact Sentinel even has a rule that any and all members must speak with one of these specialists following traumatic events to ensure that they are still fit to continue serving as a Super Hero.
Something else that the Sentinels are known for, is for the creation of the Champions Bar chain across the United States and in other parts of the world. These are bars which are exclusive to Super Heroes and their proteges, if one is not a Super Hero or proteges then they will not be welcomed inside, the Bar is a place for Heroes to relax and have some fun with a drink in hand.
There are of course rules when it comes to Super Heroes in Sentinel, for instance any member that conducts actions unbecoming of a Super Hero can see themselves expelled from the Sentinels entirely as punishment. If a hero is responsible for any crime then, once again they shall be expelled from the Sentinels and may even be handed over to the Authorities. Misuse of Sentinel resources or finances is again liable for a Hero or any member of Sentinel to be expelled and even arrested by their fellow Heroes for the crime. Sentinels also serves to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the Super Heroes, with members of the Sentinels not seen as vigilantes working against Law Enforcement but instead as true heroes working with a nations law enforcement.
The funding of Sentinel comes from former Super Heroes themselves as many of the leadership of Sentinel have turned away from super hero work and instead work now as corporate business leaders, the idea being that when technologies are no longer on par with the Super Heroes, then these technologies are patented for the open markets thus providing economic support for the Sentinels.
By 2025 there are a total of 526 Super Heroes and Super Hero proteges that are members of Sentinel across the world, with the majority being in North America, parts of Europe, Asia and the Pacific such as Australia and New Zealand for example. These Heroes are carefully monitored by the Sentinels for their safety with their Secret Identities kept classified with every Hero privy to their right to Anonymity for the sake of their loved ones safety.
The Sentinels even have dedicated prisons built in conjunction with Law Enforcement across the world, all of these prisons are in locations specific for their security. For instance, the Sentinels have a prison facility on San Nicolas Island out in the Pacific, another example is the infamous "RAFT" off the coast of New York. These locations are designated for the confinement of individuals with super powers as well as Villains who are deemed too dangerous to be held in usual Federal Correctional Facilities.
These Prisons are built specifically to hold such individuals with each cell custom built for a specific role alongside a variety of Sentinel Technologies which are used to negate any villain or creature with super powers. For Instance a villain with telepathic abilities would have a "Crown" on their heads which makes it impossible for them to use their powers, those with super strength have special restraints that curtail their muscles lowering to that of a normal person.
Super Heroes:
Its often that these Heroes are shown in the Posters used by Sentinel to call on other Super Heroes to join up and "Stand Alongside their fellow Heroes".
In Los Angeles they are a number of Heroes who "stand" with Sentinel, working to try and protect the people of the city and by extension the entire world.
In fact with their comrades in New York, Washington D.C etc. The Super Heroes of Los Angeles are those most often seen on the Posters and regional new reports.
Immorta:
Real Name: Akkad
Super Powers: Immortal Shapeshifter
Member of Sentinels: 77 years
Its unclear when or how, but at some point in his life as a hunter and gatherer, Akkad became humanities first super hero, becoming a shapeshifter, capable of transforming his body into a variety of forms, he can turn his fingers into long claws, his fists into giant, solid hammer fists, an arm into a long bladed whip or even just a huge blade like sword. And his ability to alter his body goes beyond that, he is able to run at incredible speeds, his strength rivals super heroes with super strength, he can move freely and even run up sheer walls as if they were the pavement.
Even the clothes he wears are not actually there, they might look real, feel real but in fact they aren't actually any clothes on his body. Due to his shape shifting, Akkad can alter his appearance at will, so he can go from looking like a guy in a hooded jacket walking down the street one second, to someone in a suit and tie the next.
But his greatest power is his immortality, Akkad is incapable of dying, bullets, blades, flames, poisons, volcanoes, there is nothing in the known universe capable of killing him, even harming him is impossible, since his body just heals itself, apparently he taunted someone once by spitting out the bullets they had fired into him. And another time, he spooked security guards when he walked through a metal detector and set it off, after which he literally put his fingers into his chest and pulled out a bullet. Of course this has come with a cost, as after tens of thousands of years, he has lost all sense of taste in the literal sense, Akkad is utterly unable to know what the taste of something is, be it spicy foods or stale beer to him it all tastes like water and he cannot drink his sorrows away as he is unable to get drunk. Such was tested once as a prank by some fellow Super Heroes, when he drank an entire bottle of 100% pure alcohol and did not taste it, react to it, nor did even realise, he chugged the entire bottle without a care.
He is one of the founding members of the Sentinels, as he belongs to no nation, having been around long before nations were ever even a concept, he is capable of remaining neutral. For years he was regarded as one of the greatest of the Heroes but now, he wishes to stay out of the lime light and away from the News Cameras that seem to follow some Heroes. In fact he is among the few Heroes who doesn't conceal his true identity, mostly because he has nothing to lose, the consequence of his immortality.
Akkad is a complicated "man", some would describe a man in the pits of depression, again a consequence of his immortality. Akkad has suffered much in his long life, having witnessed so much death and suffering, as well as the losses he has had to experience, back when he was first learning to harness his powers, he had to watch everyone he had ever known grow old and die whilst he was trapped the way he was. He could never love, because he knew that if he did, then he would suffer watching them grow old and loose them all over again, in his time on Earth, he has been worshipped as a God, shunned for being different, persecuted for being "demonic" and even hunted for being a monstrous "devil".
In a darker sense, he has one time, admitted that over his long, long life, he has attempted to end it, more than once. Over the tens of thousands of years, he has tried nearly every possible way, he has leapt from the highest mountains, he dived into the deepest part of the ocean, jumped into an active volcano, even stood in the dead centre of a nuclear bomb test. But nothing worked, he just got up again, walked out of the ocean, pulled himself from the lava, or just remained standing in the crater.
Today Akkad is a "man" questioning everything, he has saved the world hundreds of times and each time he just watches the world find itself in jeopardy all over again. He has begun to question if there is even any point to being a Super Hero, something that he doesn't see himself as, not once as he ever referred to himself as a Super Hero, he doesn't even like it when people call him "Immorta", he only wants to be called by his name Akkad. At least once a year though he takes a break and goes to a large plot of land in the European wilderness that he owns through Sentinel, officially the land is owned by Sentinel and is for use as a safehouse, but unofficially the only person who goes there is Akkad.
Like all Super Heroes in Sentinel, Akkad has use of the various safehouses available for him to use as his home, in his case its a small cabin out in the hills near Pine Mountain. Those lucky enough to go there say that the cabin is nice and pleasant but lacks a lot of creature comforts, it has no bathroom only an outhouse, it has no electricity, so no TV, no fridge, all that is inside is a bed, a table, a few chairs, a fireplace with a chimney and nothing else.
Though there are some frictions beginning to show, as said he has begun to question his place as a super hero, he very rarely leaves the mountain cabin that is his home and when he does he prefers to work alone when possible. There are concerns that as the last of the Founding members of the Sentinels that he intends on leaving it completely and for good, so much so that the Chairman of the Sentinels, who is an old friend of Akkad, with the latter having known the Chairman since they were a boy, got involved. From here on out, Akkad is not as much of a Super Hero in the field, he was asked to take on the mentor role for the newest members of Sentinel.
Which he begrudgingly agreed. The job includes providing support to new Super Heroes, teaching them the basics of how the Sentinels work, finding out what areas they excel at, where they need improvement, working to improve their skills and their powers etc.
He is described as a Super Hero with no friends, no family, no interests, he just wants to be by himself, he cares little for others, he does not accept invitations for beers, parties whatever, he has absolutely no interest in getting to know people or forming bonds of friendship or relationships. Though for those he regards as "colleagues", there is something of note, because among the older generations of former and current Heroes, they talk of Akkad being the best when it comes to barbequing meat, or grilling.

Solar Flare:
Real Name: Noori El-Vaziri
Super Powers: powers of the Sun
Member of Sentinels: 20 Years
He later moved to Los Angeles where he quickly gained a reputation as a more than capable Super Hero for the city, with his power of the Sun, he is capable of flying through the air, creating and absorbing flames and more.
Solar Flare is very much driven by honour and desire for peace, as well as protecting the world from threats and taking on the criminal element, he is also an advocate for peace on Earth between people. He has regularly spoken out against the actions of other nations in the Middle East and often calls on the governments of the world to cease the barbarity being committed upon innocent people. He is seen as a favourite among Super Heroes as he is among the most celebrated by the media outlets as well as ordinary people.
Some regard Solar Flare as a role model for the younger generations of Super Heroes, with many asking for his advice or ask for him to teach them in his spare time, and Solar Flare is always willing to help them. When Solar Flare learned that Akkad was selected to be the tutor for the newest Sentinels, he grew concerned, citing that Akkad "Immorta" had not really been any form of a Super Hero for a while, referring to him as a hermit living up in the mountains rather than doing his duty as a Sentinel. So much so that he has promised to check in every now and again to ensure that Immorta is doing his job and actually teaching the new Heroes.

Scion:
Real Name: N/A
Super Powers: Advanced, Self Aware Artificial Intelligence
Member of Sentinels: 19 Years
To help in the process they created a unique artificial intelligence system to help co-ordinate the systems improvements, what they didn't realise was that by linking this A.I to the network which was built to make everything more effective and process more data, more rapidly, they had inadvertently made it so that the A.I could learn and adapt. Which led to the A.I learning at a geometric rate, very quickly it started to learn of the world beyond the Business sector, as its understanding grew so to did its capabilities, at first there was concerns that there the system was logging keystrokes, then minor glitches.
Until finally the A.I managed to access the Sentinel systems with ease, despite the Conglomerate network not being connected, which immediately raised red flags. At first concerns were that someone was attempting to use the combined processing power of the network to hack into the Sentinel closed network, which contained within its most secure servers, the secret identities and locations of every single Super Hero Member of the Sentinels. But then it was discovered that the A.I was accessing the automated production line within the Research and Development section in the Los Angeles branch.
When the facility was investigated, they found a new artificial body being constructed, a singular bio mechanical marvel, the machine then introduced itself as SCION, asking if it could join the Sentinels. After considerable discussions and deliberations, SCION was accepted on condition that he help secure the Sentinel Network and ensure its security which he agreed, he aided in the creation of several new security systems for the Network and improved the level of technology for Super Heroes everywhere.
Being an A.I means that technically speaking Scion does not require a body, for he is able to transfer his consciousness from one system to another, be it one of the different constructs he created or a computer. And it is not just in computers that he is of help, providing aid to Super heroes in the field when they are "on duty", but also physically, he has constructed a number of cybernetic bodies that are impressively large and are designed for a variety of different roles.
From left to right, the red armour has been dubbed his battle armour, being incredibly durable and capable of going toe to toe with some of the worlds strongest heroes. Often Scion uploads his consciousness into this armour when its time for a fight, its the most common to be called on for regular super hero work.
The second from the left is what is dubbed the Extreme armour, as its capable of tackling a variety of extreme temperatures, from extreme heat to extreme cold, it can even withstand the immense pressures of the deep ocean. Often this armour is used when there are dangers involved nature such as fires, floods, etc, but also when it comes to villains that use super powers that require extreme resistance.
Third, is the lifter armour, which Scion constructed due to the amount of damage certain parts of the world face from natural disasters and the aftermath of certain incidents, it is capable of lifting incredible weights with ease, it has been used a number of times following earthquakes and other natural disasters in California alongside the usual clean up from the actions of Super Heroes and Super Villains.
Finally their is the Astro Armour, a unique design that possesses a vey carefully created and top secret power source that enables it to produce the power needed to take it up into outer space with ease, its armour plating is fitted with classified metal compositions that protect it from burning up in the atmosphere as it passes through. It has a combination of the other three, it is capable of taking a severe amount of damage like the battle armour, it can endure extremes like the second armour and is able to lift heavy objects, though not as much as the Lifter Armour. Though it is has within its primary arm a powerful laser cannon which can fire small rapid bolts or charge into a single powerful and continuous beam.
All of the armours are kept under the strictest security and the maintenance of them all is solely in the hands or more specifically in the automated systems of SCION and a facility built by the Sentinels solely for those armours.
He is described as rather machine minded, for despite his interest in understanding humans, he doesn't quite understand certain aspects of society, culture and norms, for instance he often asks for an explanation in regards of metaphors. An example is when someone referred to him as "Jackass" for how he regarded himself as more capable of performing a certain task, to which he asked "Explain Jackass?"
Holmes:
Real Name: Sherlock Holmes
Super Powers: Advanced Intellect
Member of Sentinels: 15 years
He is without a doubt the most capable investigator on Planet Earth, he is highly intelligent and advanced in his thinking, he regards what he does as "Deduction", where he analyses various small pieces and these produce a bigger picture in his mind. Even from a young age he had a mind for crime and various aspects of scientific knowledge, he underwent a number of educations specifically private boarding schools by his father, where he spent much of his time with his eyes and brain embedded in one of many books.
Later he became a private detective working for himself on behalf of clients but also Scotland Yard, most of the time he never took credit for his work, seeing his efforts as a means of preventing him facing boredom. It was during these years of working in Britain that he came to provide assistance on an as needed basis to the Sentinels, providing them assistance in investigating certain crimes and Super Villains. However he suffered greatly from the keenness of his mind and senses, Holmes had in the past partaken in a number of recreational drugs to help him when he felt bored or was stuck on a particular case.
Unfortunately this eventually spiralled out of control following a personal loss, a woman he had come to love was killed and he lost himself into the narcotics he was using to dull his brain and his emotions. With some help, he was able to get clean, following his emigration to the United States, during his time after his successful rehab, he went back to working for law enforcement as a consultant detective, though he became one that worked primarily between the East and West Coasts. He joined the Sentinels around the same time, becoming a hero in other forms, serving to support the more investigative branch of super hero work.
Holmes primarily works in New York but he is not afraid of getting on a plane and provide his services to other branches of the Sentinels across the U.S, notably in Los Angeles, specifically when there is a case that he finds interesting. One of the terms for his entrance into the Sentinels has been that he constantly maintains his sobriety by attending meetings with fellow addicts, though he finds it boring at times, he has admitted that they do help at times.
Very much a socially awkward person, Holmes isn't really the easiest person to get along with, if anything he rather likes to keep people at a certain arms length. This includes relationships, besides only one real connection he made besides his closest friend Dr Joan Watson, was with a "Unique" woman, he is not really interested in such commitments, so much so that he has a great number of "Irregulars", women who share the same ideas about "Physical" interactions. For Holmes' his brain requires these things so he undertakes these interactions to ensure that this mind remains at optimal efficiency for his work, he even views marriage as a biological restraint and unnatural.
Not one for being stagnant, when there are no real cases, Holmes partakes in a number of strange experiments, apparently one time he had someone put him in a strafe jacket just to see if he could figure out a means of getting out of it by himself. He likes to keep several bee hives which he maintains methodically and efficiently, again as a means of maintaining his brain from facing boredom. Another one of his common practices is memory work, he has in his home a room with several televisions which when used all switch to a different channel which he watches all at once, the intent being to memorise what each of the screens has on, the collecting and memorising of various pieces of information at once.
One time someone commented that most people just read a book, to which he replied "I am Reading a book", pointing at a large volume on a nearby table.
He doesn't really see himself as a Super Hero, he doesn't get into fights, but is considered an important member of the Sentinels as his keen eye and his deductive mind has helped his fellow Heroes in bringing about the successful conclusion of several high profile cases. Though he is noted to be very much obsessed with a supposed criminal mastermind that he refers to as "Moriaty" a so called "Napoleon of Crime".
Monstress:
Real Name: Uelia
Super Powers: Super Strength, Hellion Regeneration, Summoning
Member of Sentinels: 14 Years
The exact nature of her exile is clearly indicated in her file, apparently the Hellions of this dimension had all but scorched their world for its natural resources, leaving it a near desolate wasteland. According to Monstress she was meant to serve as the vanguard of a trans-dimensional invasion on Earth, this is due to a powerful ability she possesses known as Summoning, where she is able to call on creatures between worlds and command that will.
Originally she was meant to summon herself to our world and then through the use of a powerful artifact, open a portal between our world and theirs, enabling an immense invasion force to come through and conquer the planet. However Monstress grew to like the Earth and its people, having witnessed how little her own people cared for their own world, she didn't want to see the same happen in ours, she readily surrendered the "Artifact" to the Sentinels and joined to help protect the planet from any possible danger.
Instead of summoning her own kind, she instead summoned to our world a menagerie of strange beasts from her world which she cares for and uses in conjunction to her own powers, these can include a giant reptilian like wolf or a strange flying creature that resembles a sperm whale, but flies through the air rather than swimming in the oceans. But her favourite aid in her hero work, is her mighty war hammer, a huge weapon that is crafted from the hardened scales of a great beast from her world, which when used alongside her immense strength gives a powerful strike.
When she isn't working as a super hero, she enjoys spending time with her beloved "Pets", nurturing them, caring for them, playing with them. She is very, very, very protective of her pets and has been known to get very angry at anyone who dares to harm them, even they are friends. Monstress is also known for being rather competitive, getting into bouts of wrestling and other physical challenges with other super heroes, mostly to prove her worth as an Alpha as was apparently common among her people. Then of course there are the drinking challenges that she invites people to partake in, with many falling to the floor long before she even feels a single aspect of drunkeness, where she claims "Your alcohols are so weak, a drop of Hellion booze, would likely kill you", which she apparently said aloud after drinking an entire keg.

The Dragon King:
Real Name: Daniel Mayflower
Super Powers: Flight, elemental powers
Member of Sentinels: 13 Years
That was until man grew jealous of the Dragons power and so grew the desire to either take for themselves or annihilate any possibility of the Dragons preventing humans rising to dominance. Those that survived the slaughter, fled into hiding with the aid of the "Guardians", who provided for their Dragon friends safe haven in a magically created reality where they could live in peace.
Dragon King is not really a name more than a title and not to be compared with royalty, as apparently the society of the Dragons a "king" is more of a protector than ruler. The current Super Hero known as Dragon King is merely the current holder of the title and its responsibilities, among these are the defending of the Dragons and the preservation of their safe haven by ensuring that secrecy of the entrance ways into the alternate dimension. To perform this task to the fullest, the Dragons gifted him like they gifted all of the Dragon Kings, some of their magical abilities, among which are commanding of the various elements, including, Earth, Water, Fire and Wind.
As well as their obvious ability to fly through the skies with ease.
Whilst he likes to reside in Los Angeles, he is not bound to any singular location as the entrances to the "Dragon Realms" as he refers to them as are found across the world, so he needs to be able to travel freely to protect them. Among his powers is also a deep magical connection, he possesses a powerful sensory ability that enables him to sense the presence of magic or someone using magic, this is how he is able to know when there is a threat to an entrance to the "Dragon Realms" which he must respond too.
Outside of his duties and inclusion in the Sentinels, he is known to be a very outgoing person, he enjoys having fun, his favourite past time is in fact art. He likes to go camping to places where he can either draw, sketch and or paint the surroundings around his campsite and often when these campsites are next to a nice lake, other heroes like to join him in enjoying the open air, barbecued foods and of course cold beers.
Electro:
Real Name: Donald Grey
Super Powers: Electricity
Member of Sentinels: 12 Years
Electro possesses power in an almost literal sense, he can harness and create electrical fields and use electricity both for defence but also offence, he can shoot bolt of electricity like lightning from his hands, electrical fields like a shield. He is also able to harness electricity from a variety of sources, be they normal power grids, nuclear reactors even giant bolts of lightning from the sky, which when he really focuses he can call on but such requires much concentration and a lot of focus, not just to call on but also to contain and control, if he loses control, the damage can be extreme.
As a super hero he was at first rather cocky and arrogant, with some labelling him as someone desperate to prove how good he was or how cool he was compared to most others. But then one day a very, very, very old super hero took aside and warned him, "Lose the arrogance before something humbles you to the very core of your soul". This came sooner than he liked, whilst doing some super hero work, he inadvertently showed off which very nearly cost the life of another hero. Though this hero recovered, Electro felt responsible for nearly killing someone because he was trying to prove himself, since then he has become more careful and for a while preferred to work alone to avoid repeating his past mistakes.
Eventually he did start working with others again, learning to be among people again and start to enjoy life, some say he is the life of the party when Sentinels enjoy themselves. When their is a party among Super Heroes they ask him to help with performing light shows to the joy of everyone particularly the children of heroes when they come to the parties and barbeques.
Hammer Fist:
Real Name: Tripp Willis
Super Powers: Super Strength
Member of Sentinel: 12 Years
Born in San Francisco, Hammer Fist learned of his powers very early on in life and grew up learning how to control them and limit his strength whenever he could. When he was old enough he started working with his dad and uncle down in the harbour, moving containers, loading and unloading ships that are along the docks. Again he wanted to keep his head down and hide his super powers, but when there was an accident, where a crane fell and would have killed some workers, Hammer Fist improvised a mask and helped.
This was all caught on cameras, showing him lifting the heavy pieces of the crane with ease, pushed containers out of the way to allow emergency vehicles in and what eventually got him his Super Hero name, getting the crane operator out by breaking the glass with a single punch, with people saying his fist hit like a hammer and the name stuck. Eventually he was found by the Sentinels and was invited to join, under the promise that was given to all Super Heroes in the Sentinels, he would receive a stipend to support him and his family, plus he could use his powers for good.
Hammer Fist accepted and for a period worked as a Super Hero in the San Francisco region, though over time he grew more confidant, realising that with his super powers he could do more good for people and that with his strength he had a duty to use it for the betterment of others. So he isn't one to just work as a normal super hero, tackling crime, fighting villains etc, coming from a working class family, he is always willing to give a helping hand to ordinary people whenever he sees them.
This can be anything from lifting a car to help someone who has a flat tyre, carrying some heavy items for workers and employees of businesses in or out of buildings. Later Hammer Fist was recommended for training and tutoring of new Super Heroes across California, he agreed and moved into Los Angeles where he continues to work both as a Hero but also as a support role, helping the new generation find their footing.
He is in fact one of the advocates against having the Super Hero "Immorta" be the one to train the newest generation of Super Heroes who have only been with the Sentinels for a few months up to a year at most. The problem he has is the fact that in his eyes Immorta has forgotten his duties as a Super Hero and instead of being someone willing to help people, he prefers to become an isolated hermit in the wilderness.
Cold - Wind:
Real Name: Katie Webb
Super Powers: Ice, Snow, Cold powers
Member of Sentinels: 11 Years
Being born and raised in a place where ice and snow is common for most of the year, Cold-Wind learned how to use her powers very quickly, at first for her it was just about having fun and enjoying some games with her friends. Later however as she grew up, she started to learn how she could use these same powers to help the people of her community, for instance with her powers, roads were cleared of snow and ice with ease, ice building up along a river risking floods were unclogged and water flowing in minutes.
Eventually she became a full fledged Super Hero in Alaska and later joined the Sentinels, seeing it as a way of providing more people with help across Alaska and not just in the region she grew up in. When things calmed in her home state, she decided to try the lower 48, she moved to California where she continues her work as a Super Hero, using her powers to help in every day actions of a hero, from tackling crime to helping with fighting fires and more.
But this hasn't stopped her fun side, she is known to give some joy to people across the state, particularly those in the warmer reaches, where she enjoys giving people who never get to enjoy things taken for granted in other parts. Things like snowmen, snowball fights, snow angels etc. Whenever there is trouble, she likes to go out of her way to cheer up children and old folks by giving them a little bit of fun and laughter.
Falcon:
Real Name: Mason Pearce
Super Power: power to fly
Member of Sentinels: 9 Years
Falcon left Law Enforcement and started doing it himself, with his training and powers, he started to make a name for himself as someone who is unrelenting in putting an end to crime in the city of Los Angeles. Which eventually brought him to the Sentinels, where he felt he would find kindred spirits, people willing to do what is necessary to ensure that people are kept safe.
With the Sentinels he received the support he needed to truly use his powers to the fullest, since his ability to fly comes with draw backs, he had to improvise much of his equipment at first, relying on basic pieces to help him when flying, such as goggles to protect his eyes. With their backing in materials, resources and funding, Falcon now possesses equipment perfect for his powers, the suit he wears protects his body from the strains from flying at speed, his mask has built in protection for his eyes, ears and even helps him to breath when going up high.
Despite serving as a Super Hero for a good long time by this point and having been a determined member of the Sentinels, there are some marks on his record. There are rumours of his preference in crimes, according to some, he is not equal in his treatment of criminals, though nothing has been proven or confirmed. People are talking that when he talks about changes to Law Enforcement making harder for hard working people, he isn't talking about laws holding back police. Supposedly he was once overheard talking about how some "people" just weren't worth rehabilitating or trying to save.
Star-Guard:
Real Name: Keenor Clarel
Super Powers: Advanced Technology, Flight, Strength, Speed
Member of Sentinels: 7 Years
So eventually he joined up with an underground movement who worked to overthrow the Star-Lords and liberate the planets being subjugated them. Though small in number this underground resistance movement works to support planets that are free from the rule of the Star-Lords, providing them with some advance warning as information on how best to fight the Star-Lords armies. However at some point this changed when the Star-Lord that he was servant too intended to start causing trouble on Earth as a means of weakening it so that particular Lord could conquer the planet with ease.
However Star-Guard couldn't follow this order and instead decided to sabotage the incursion by not only secretly giving the information to the other Star-Lords but also by actively going to Earth and openly betraying his master. He aided the worlds Heroes in resisting the Star-Lord incursion and with their victory he finally realised he could no longer return home, that he was a traitor and was forever exiled on Earth. The Sentinels gave to him sanctuary with the support of the worlds governments, though he is technically a super hero, Star-Guard is very much focused on the threat of the Star-Lords, constantly training himself and other like minded heroes in preparation of when not if one or all the Star-Lords return.
As a member of the Star-Guard, he was genetically augmented to improve his body and strengthen every element of his being, his bones, muscles and mind were hardened to make into the most ferocious warrior in the galaxy, one that could only be challenged by a being with super powers or a fellow Star-Guard. This is improved on further through alien technologies that give him even more abilities, the technological suit he wears possesses all manner of tools, from rebreathing, enabling him to maintain a steady supply of oxygen to his body, dampeners, which limit the damage from impacts to his body, be they projectiles or fists.
Plus the suit possesses a unique piece of technology that enables him to manipulate gravitational force around him, this isn't really a weapon but more of a means of mobility, enabling him to fly with ease as the suits systems in effect alter the effects of gravity around him. So instead of gravity pulling him to the ground, it would pull him into air and push him across the sky.
Druid:
Real Name: Eric McNeill
Super Powers: Druidic Magics
Member of Sentinels: 7 years
Later his ability to use the Ancient Druid magics came into being and like those who came before him, he sought to use these powers for the greater good and to protect the world. He became a member of the Sentinels in the Republic of Ireland as well as the United Kingdom of Great Britain, where he was celebrated as a source of national pride in Scotland and Ireland as well as parts of Wales. Later he was invited as part of an exchange to come to the Los Angeles branch of the Sentinels, with the idea being, he would meet the Heroes in the west coast and learn from them whilst a hero from the region takes his place back in the U.K.
He accepted seeing it as a chance to test his magics against newer opponents but also to conduct experiments on his Magics, to see whether his magics are stronger or weaker in certain parts of the world. Notably because obviously the ancient Celts never made it to North America and so there is the possibility that the Gods he worships do not have a presence in North America. Yet his magics remain strong and capable, which has only fuelled his desire to see how things really work.
Though he is not always on the clock, he is known to enjoy his free time and have fun when the time is needed, some say he is the typical Scotsmen, he enjoys a good beer and a laugh. Apparently though other Super Heroes have made clear that when they are trying to enjoy their drinks and have fun, the last thing they want him to talk about, is the "utterly vile foods in Albion", to which he responded.

Storm Bringer:
Real Name: Charlotte Llewellyn
Super Powers: Lightning
Member of Sentinels: 3 Years
Born in South L.A, Storm Bringer is a heroine who knows the south side of the city, having been born to a working class African-American family in one of the poorest suburbs, she lived a hard life growing up. Her parents worked very hard to provide for the family and despite going to high school, she too had to get a part-time job to support them. Her family were proud African-Americans for generations, her father was a firm member of the civil rights movement during the 50s and 60s which is how her parents met.
This belief in people was passed on to her from a young age, growing up when she wasn't working or at school, she joined her mother at a local community centre which she continues to this day. Her powers manifested during her teenage years and she worked very hard to conceal them, fearing that it would make trouble for everyone around her especially her family. This changed however when a turf war broke out in her neighbourhood, wanting an end to the fighting, she used her powers to call on a lightning storm which broke up the fighting and forced both gangs back.
She was found by the Sentinels who started investigating the matter and she was offered support in learning how to use her powers and how to control them, wanting to support her community and try and protect her folks, she accepted and joined the Sentinels. Though she remains fervently in her home turf, she still lives with her folks in South L.A in what some call the wrong side of the tracks, she chooses to live there because she feels that many heroes forget where they come from or why they started in the first place.
Storm Bringer wants to remember who she is, where she comes from and who she is fighting to help, she is often known to have qualms with certain elements of law enforcement which she feels are too prejudicial or judgemental of the people who live in certain neighbourhoods. She has a mark on her record with the Sentinels as she assaulted a fellow Super Hero who she declared to be a "Racist Asshole".
Helia:
Real Name: Helia Dokaroth
Super Powers: Hell Powers
Member of Sentinel: 1 Year
Possessing the powers and abilities of Hellish demons, Helia has a body that is incredibly strong, she can match some super strong heroes, and can run a great distance before becoming winded. She can heal wounds very swiftly though she can become hurt badly when it comes to certain injuries. Due to her demonic heritage, she can withstand intense heat and brings with demonic weapons, a powerful spear forged in the fires of hell from a special type of metal that cannot be broken.
A literal demon from hell, or in more respectful terms, a demonic entity from an different dimension that is very much a resemblance of hell. Helia is a demoness who came to Earth with others of her kind in support of a being known to them as Harbinger, their mission to aid him the creation of a portal between Hell and Earth allowing for a demonic invasion that would bring about the destruction or enslavement of mankind.At least that was the intention at first, she and others like her were sent to different parts of the world to make ready for the Demonic invasion, Helia started up in San Francisco where she started hiding and doing what was required, preparing for the rise of the Demons. However when she moved south, she was noticed outside of Los Angeles and she had to run, fleeing from the grasp of Super Heroes and others, she ended up in the hills of Angeles National Forest. Whilst hiding out she met a strange man who invited her to his cabin near Mount San Antonio, this man gave her food, clean clothes and a place to rest.
As she did, Helia began to learn of humanities long history and the various Super Heroes across the world, of how despite hardship and difficulty, human beings were most of the time good and kind hearted people. She learned of how in the aftermath of different catastrophes ordinary people would help each other, like following great fires or earthquakes in the region, people would donate things to those in difficulty. All of this an other things that were told to her by the stranger, made Helia start to question things, like why were Demons like her being told that Humans were chaotic and destructive beings and only that, that they had no passion nor mercy and so deserved none in turn.
Helia realised that the whole reason for the Demonic invasion wasn't what was told to her kind, about restoring order to a world gripped by the chaotic, unloving attention of a divine being. No it was all about power and greed, an invasion that wasn't about restoration but conquest for the sake of conquest or enslavement. She surrendered herself to the Sentinels and offered her services to bring about the capture of the other demons that had come with her to Earth, despite the expectation that she would join them behind bars, instead the Stranger who she had met in the mountains came to see her.
He introduced himself as Akkad, an immortal who saw in her someone who deserved a chance, he told her that if desired, then he would recommend Helia to become a member of the Sentinels, becoming a Super Hero, working to protect the world from danger. Helia accepted and joined the growing Sentinels, showing her abilities and powers, she is currently among the newest generation of Super Heroes in the Sentinels, despite being a member for nearly a year, she is still technically in probational phase, she actually asked if Akkad could be a tutor for her and other new Sentinels.
There are rumours that she possesses an attraction to Akkad, because unlike most who refer to him as Immorta, she calls him by his real name. Plus she often says that when she needs a break, she likes to go hiking in the hills and mountains as well as camping, so much so that when the Probation team (New Sentinel Super Heroes), needed to undertake some "team building", she asked Akkad if they go have some fun at his cabin near Mount San Antonio.
Phoenix:
Real Name: Nicole Fulton
Super Powers: Telekinesis, Telepathy
Member of Sentinel: 1 Year
It was during her years in School that worries began to strike her and her parents, she kept complaining of how there were voices in her head, she said she could hear people talking about her without their lips moving. Then later when she was scared or angry objects moved and would be thrown, her parents were scared for her, which only made matters worse, so much so as they withdrew her from the world, instead of going to school, she would have private tutors come to her.
During this time, Phoenix suddenly realised that the voices in her head, were not in hers at all, but in everyone else's, she was hearing the thoughts in the minds of people around her. Slowly she started to focus on some kind of training, she studied from different sources, she used meditation methods to train her mind to the point that when she turned 16 she was able to control her abilities by focusing her mind and keeping control.
Feeling more comfortable, her parents finally allowed her to move back into the world, she went to school once again where she found herself being able to interact with people once again, secretly however against her parents wishes, she gained her rogue, delinquent streak. Phoenix snuck out from home to meet up with her friends and caused trouble, but this changed at school one day, where an accident occurred. A large sign in the gym fell and had she not intervened with her powers, two her friends would have surely been crushed, this changed a lot for her, she started to see that her powers could do more than just enjoy hijinks and practical jokes.
But someone had seen her, when there was a knock at the door one day, she was afraid that someone was coming to get her, to blame her for what had happened. But no it was a super hero, clear as day alongside a representative of the Sentinels, they sat down with Phoenix and her parents, rather than giving some kind of warning, she was given an offer, a chance to join the Sentinels and use her powers for more than just high school pranks. She was rather amazed that they knew about them, it turned out that the Sentinels had been investigating a possible "super powered" individual for a while.
Not wanting to get into trouble, Phoenix agreed on the condition that she finish High School first, this was agreed as the representative explained that a Hero had to 18 before they could legally join the Sentinels. Now as a new member of the Sentinels, Phoenix is hyped to get to work, but like all relative new comers to the Sentinels, she has to undergo proper training, tutelage and examination by a full fledged Super Hero.
Ty:
Real Name: Ty
Super Powers: Boomerangs
Member of Sentinels: 9 Month
Southern Rivers is under the protection of the Australian Government with no humans permitted entry into the region, whilst still part of Australian nation, the region is in effect completely autonomous.
Ty himself is a Tasmanian Tiger also known as a Thylacine, whilst the true animal remains extinct, the anthropomorphic branch of the lineage remains strong in southern rivers. Ty actually comes from a long lineage of warriors who have served as guardians of an ancient shrine for tens of thousands of years, like his parents before him he worked to protect the people of Southern Rivers. In the years of him being a hero he has become a legend among the citizens of Southern Rivers, often due to his constant battles against his arch nemesis, Boss Cass.
He joined the Sentinels in order to gain much needed support in finding ancient relics of tremendous importance and danger to the world. Many years ago five mystic talismans vanished from the ancient shrine that his family have protected for generations, Ty has been working tirelessly to find and reclaim these talismans to ensure that they do not fall into the wrong hands.
Its this reason that he has come to America, because through the help of a scientific friend of his as well as some help from the Sentinels, he has learned that one or two of the Talismans are somewhere in North America and he intends to find them. This mission he is on however does not mean he is without Heroic purpose, he is not afraid or unwilling to get help ordinary people out whenever he can, using a variety of special and magical boomerangs.
Jazz:
Real Name: Gale Foster
Super Powers: Audio energetic conversion
Member of Sentinel: 7 Months
It was during these times of listening to music on his headphones as he walked home that he was mugged, afraid, he reacted and from his body a surge of energy erupted, immobilising his attacker. He later figured out that the energy was matching the bass of the music he was listening too, in effect he had used the acoustics of the song to create a form of energy. With the help of a friend who he trusted, he started experimenting in his spare time, using different songs to see what they would do.
He figured out that classic and orchestra music would create an energy that caused time to slow for everyone but him. Pop would cause him to move incredibly fast, rap would allow to shoot bolts of energy from his finger tips, rock and roll makes it so his body is strengthened. The only catch is that in order to do any of these he has to be listening to the music itself in order for him to convert the song into energy.
But instead of doing what he should have done and kept quiet and used his powers carefully, he instead started to show off and make a name for himself as a laser show artists. This unfortunately resulted in a lot of damage, because one day whilst he was showing off, he accidently damaged the supports of a large building and nearly brought it down, it was only because of a super hero that this was avoided, but Jazz was still responsible and he ended up in the lock up of a police station.
He was approached by the same Super Hero who offered him a choice, he could do what was right and join the Sentinels, start using his powers for more than show boating, or he could take his punishment as a man and stay in prison. Jazz took the former, but because he was known in Detroit he had to move, he ended up in Los Angeles where he is now a trainee hero.
As with all relatively new recruits for the Sentinels, he has to be under the care, tutelage and supervision of a full fledged Super Hero, who would oversee his training and evaluate his work. But when Jazz realised that the guy responsible for him and the other newbies, was a reclusive immortal guy who lived in the mountains, he openly whined about it all.
Mostly because the cabin they were to be training at, didn't have electricity to charge his phone.
Rook:
Real Name: Okada Shizue
Super Powers: Shadow Powers
Member of Sentinels: 7 Months
However during one particular encountered with a group of Super Heroes, he was unable to uphold the practice and embedded training of the Acolytes, where in the event of him being taken alive, he was to take his own life in order to preserve the secrets of the Cult. In his case he didn't get the chance as Rook was rendered totally unconscious and shackled to a solid frame to ensure that he couldn't harm himself.
In the weeks that followed, the Sentinels poured every effort to break the powerful indoctrination that had been embedded within his mind for his entire life. It took a lot of time, but finally Rook was able to have his own mind free once more, even then it would be months before he was allowed to move around freely without constraint but still under guard.
Now after over two years of rehabilitation, Rook wants to use the very training that the Acolytes of Mayhem gave him against them and any others who wish to do harm to innocents. He gave up everything he knew about the cult and has since joined the Sentinels, seeking to right the wrongs he has committed upon the world. He often practices all manner of meditations to try and maintain his mind and keep the Cults indoctrination from ever being able to take hold again, which is in fact why when he was told that his Superhero examiner and tutor lived in a cabin in the mountain woods, he was happy sighting that it would be better there.
Where they would have fewer distractions.
Tech Wizz:
Real Name: Abbie Lowe
Super Powers: Advanced Technologies
Member of Sentinels: 7 Months
Possessing an incredible mind, Tech Wizz is not a super hero in regards of powers, but rather her inventive mind, she comes up with all kinds of inventions that she uses for all kinds of matters. These inventions have become the back bone for her work as a super hero, despite being young she has proven herself capable of performing the duties expected of a Super Hero.
She has been regarded as an incredibly smart young woman from a very early age, some rumours say that she deliberately held back during her educational years of school, that she might avoid embarrassing people, notably her teachers but also because she knew full well that those who are smart are often targeted.
She has explained that during her time in high school, she learned quick to keep her head down and avoid making herself easy to spot, but whenever she could she would be in the computer lab or in her parents garage working on some kind of project. Tech Wizz is the prime suspect in a series of corporate hacks across the country, this is apparently where he name came from, with TechWizard being her screen name. At 15 she apparently hacked into the Pentagon on a dare by her best friend, hacked into various corporations to expose the bones in their closets alongside what they had tried very hard to cover up.
This time of easy hacking was nearing its end though following her 17th birthday, when she made her biggest move, using various pieces she had collected, bought and stolen, Tech Wizz built herself all kinds of technologies to help her in breaking into the ultimate dare. She intended on breaking into The Sentinel Servers and hacking into their system, whilst it was relatively easy for her to break into the building and work her way past the security systems, she was caught by Sentinel or more specifically a hero named Scion and questioned thoroughly.
When it was learned that she was just a teenager on a dare, the Chairman of the Sentinels decided to show let the matter go without pressing charges, in exchange for her help in fixing the gaps she had uncovered. So from that day, Tech Wizz worked for the Sentinels and later undertook the super hero test with her technologies and passed.
She half expected to go straight to business, but she found it just as annoying as other newcomers to the Sentinels, when she was told that her Super Hero mentor was what she regarded as a washed up has been who lives without television, the internet or even any phone signal.
Nightstalker:
Real Name: Miranda Fletcher
Super Powers: Feline Agility
Member of Sentinels: 6 Months
Nightstalker possesses incredibly agility and flexibility, she is able to move fast with ease and move over rooftops with remarkable skill and precision. She can eye up distances swiftly and with firm determination, react quickly to an issue and her senses are as sharp as those of the cat, this includes her level of sight, which can see into some of the darkest places.
Born and raised in the Crescent City, Nightstalker was a true girl of the city, she absolutely loved the city and its people, how everyday was a festival, every night a party. Her family operated a bar and club in the French Quarter where she learned her maths from the register and her ABCs from the drinks diagram, not that she minded, if anything she loved it, she appreciated how the city was always a buzz of life and joy.
But that was shattered after her mother was attacked in the alley behind their club, she was viciously beaten, which forever changed her. She describes that her mother doesn't go out of the house anymore nor does she work in the bar and club, below their home, Nightstalker hated what had happened so much to her mother, not just physically but mentally, that she used her powers to start punishing people at night for all manner of crimes.
This eventually caused some attention from the Sentinels of the city who investigated and found her, she was taken in and put through careful questioning. At the end the Sentinels gave her a job offer, they detailed that she would have to leave NOLA for a while to undertake her evaluation and mentorship, but promised when that was over she could come back and work alongside them in protecting the people of the Big Easy.
She accepted and went to Los Angeles to follow through with the proper evaluations and training to see her become a recognised Super Hero. But being so far from home makes her nervous, she is anxious to get back home to her folks, so much so that when she learned that her Mentor was someone who wasn't really interested in the job and lived in the middle of no where, she was both perplexed but also intrigued.
Having lived in a city her whole life, surrounded by people, she found the way that her Mentor, Immorta lived, in a small cabin in the middle of no where with no one else around, so different, so alien.
Squill:
Real Name: N/A
Super Powers: Advanced Healing, Agility, Heightened Senses
Member of Sentinels: 5 Months
To top it off, though not a specific super power, he is a master in a unique form of martial arts that are specific to his species back in its dimension. A form that is so advanced that even the most legendary martial artists on Earth have not managed to best him.
Squill came to Earth in search of something, he has explained in great detail that his world is facing an extreme danger, what his people call the "Tree of Life" from which all life in his world originates, is afflicted with a deadly "plague" which is effecting the entire planet. In scientific terms the "plague" afflicting the "Tree" is causing an extreme ecological disaster, utterly ripping apart pre-existing ecosystems and introducing destructive and dangerous new life forms.
He came to our world in search of something that is said to be capable of defeating the "Plague" and restoring the "Tree of Life" and with it by extension allowing their world to heal and its people to live again. Squill joined the Sentinels on the promise that in exchange for his support, Sentinel would aid him in finding what he is searching for to save his people.
Squill is rather interested in Humanity, describing it as very different from his own people, for he detailed that his people live in tribes that exist in harmony with the natural world. He has also noted his displeasure and concerns for humanities future, he has said clearly, you are killing your "Tree" and you don't seem to care of what will be left when she is dead.
Civilian Support of Sentinel:
The Sentinels are not just made up of Super Heroes, they are exist in ordinary people that do everything in support of their heroes, for Sentinel is an organisation and such a massive enterprise needs people to work for them and work with them, especially when one considers that Sentinel offers all manner of support for its Super Heroes, said support needs experts and support staff.
Morland Richards:
Position: Chairman of Sentinel
A rather private man, Morland Richards isn't just a former hero, he is actually the son of a former hero, you could even say that Sentinel is part of his families legacy, as his father was one of its core founding members. For a number of years after joining at the age of 18, he served to protect the people of the world, refusing to work in a single country or region, but following his fathers passing he started to take a keener interest in the inner workings of Sentinel.
He retired from active super hero work and instead joined the administration of Sentinel and eventually rose to the position of Chairman, the administrative head of all Sentinel, under him, the system for supporting Super Heroes, active or retired has been streamlined. He has made more efficient for Heroes and their families to receive the support they need when times are hard or in the worse case scenario have to cope with tragedy and loss.
Many credit his work to the growth of Sentinel and the effectiveness of Super Heroes not just in the United States but across the entire world. Some may question him at times, since he often regard him for being cold to people, despite the fact that he can seem charming and compassionate, however those who know him better than most understand the reasoning.
He has lost many friends in his life and is only trying to keep his distance from attachments so that he can do the job without his his personal feelings clouding his judgement. It was his idea to have Akkad "Immorta" become a mentor to new Super Heroes in Sentinel, citing his long, long, long life of experience as an advantage, though again those who know him better, know the truth. He and Akkad have been life long friends and Morland wants to try and get his oldest friend back on his feet and out into the world, rather than just sitting around in a log cabin in the middle of no where.
George Mallory:
Position: Chief of Hero Welfare
Every branch of the Sentinels has a Welfare director and support personnel, but the Chief of Hero Welfare is George Mallory, a man who has been a guiding force with improving the Hero Welfare and support system. He rose through the ranks in the Hero Welfare division of Sentinel, because his ideas of how to improve the system and ensure that every Hero was treated equally regardless of "Prestige" or "fame", to him these do not matter, preferential treatment for the famous heroes was not what the Sentinel was meant for, it was meant to help all heroes.
Some often look at him as a bureaucrat, someone who does nothing but handle paper work and files, but for those who know his work, they recognise that he is doing the work that few ever appreciate. He is not afraid to speak out when something is wrong with the Welfare support for Heroes and is very quick to fix a problem or dish out punishment for those who abuse the system meant to help those who defend them.
Elliot Nielson:
Position: Chief of R&D
Beyond that, the R&D division is also a part of the bread basket for Sentinel, for anything that is no longer advantageous to the Super Heroes in the Sentinels, said technology or advancements are patented and granted to the wider world to improve the lives of everyone, everywhere.
In recent years it is the duty of Elliot Nielson to oversee all efforts across the world for R&D on behalf of the Sentinels, in fact much can be credited to him. If the rumours are to be believed a number of advancements in the fields of science and technology can be partly credited to him, it is known that when he was younger, he aided in the creation of the Internet and wireless communication.
Even now as the Chief of all R&D in Sentinel, Nielson is still working just not from an office in the Sentinel Headquarters, but rather in the main Sentinel R&D facility. Where he is known to work alongside all the scientists and engineers working to improve the gadgets and technologies that are needed by Heroes across the world to continue their service in protecting the world.
Though there are occasions when he vanishes from the face of the Earth, when asked where he goes, its reported that he is inspecting the progress of a special project. Rumours are very widespread that some where in the world, there is a secret facility where this special Project is being undertaken, but as to where this facility is, no one knows, nor is there any record of its location.
Dr Malcom Sawyer:
Position: Head of Sentinel Medical
He volunteered his services to the Sentinels after a Super Hero saved his family during an major fire, as thanks he wanted to devote himself to helping the Super Heroes of the world. Due to his experience, he soon became the Head of the Sentinel Medical division, overseeing everything to do with medicine for the Sentinels, ensuring that Super Heroes can get the help they need whether its a simple wound or a more life threatening injury.
Since some super heroes have very hard bodies or their powers can counter efforts from medical staff to do their jobs, Dr Sawyer has often had to help in figuring out all manner of alternate surgical methods and techniques in order to save the life of a Hero.
But its not just heroes he helps, but also their families and when the need is present, he leads a medical unit to disaster zones alongside heroes to provide help to people in trouble. Anywhere in the world, any kind of disaster, be it an Earthquake in California, a major wild fire, a tsunami, volcanic eruption, he keeps a go bag at the ready, when the call comes he is ready to get on a plane and lead the effort to save lives.
Commander Robert Hicks:
Position: U.S.A West Coast Law Enforcement Liaison
The powers that be despite hearing that the team had been cleared of any fault that led to the loss, demanded a pound of flesh, someone of authority to step down. Apparently when he was told this, Hicks was enraged, "Is that what all this is about? how it looks?, we lost a colleague, a friend".
He was backed up by Sentinel who made it clear that the actions of the officers saved lives, that the group that had taken the officers life were not the kind to surrender to authorities, that if anything the city authorities should be happy that only one person died not an entire team.
Following this outrage, Sentinel directly requested that Commander Hicks of the Los Angeles Police Department, the officer in charge of the Special Weapons and Tactics unit of the city, be the new Liaison officer for Sentinel in the city, the person who would work with heroes to better work alongside law enforcement. He took on the role seeing the advantages, wanting to try and get the support of both sides for the greater good of helping people and keeping them safe.
Technically speaking he is still the officer in command of L.A.P.D S.W.A.T, but when required he is requested to assist in the liaising of efforts between law enforcement and Sentinel, mostly via face to face conversations, through a computer screen or a phone call. Since he often works with other law enforcements agencies across the country as part of his duties in the L.A.P.D, he knows the ins and outs of how things work and how best to make it so that Sentinel and Law Enforcement can work together.
Security Chief Gordon Ramsden:
The man in charge of this division is former F.B.I Special Agent Gordon Ramsden, his job is to oversee the different efforts that ensure that a Super Hero is able to stay safe whenever they are not wearing their suits and masks. He takes this duty very serious, having witnessed the discrimination, stigma and even violence that have followed after the secret identity of Super Heroes was revealed, during his time with the F.B.I he took part in several investigations of systematic harassment of heroes that had been discovered, not just by criminals and villains but also by ordinary people.
He felt disgusted by the idea that heroes that risked their lives everyday ended up being harassed, discriminated and even attacked by the same people that they had sacrificed much to protect. He views the Super Heroes right to a secret identity to be in the United States at least, a Constitutional right, he made clear to this during a press conference when he accepted the position, declaring that he won't sit back and watch as the Heroes who risk it all be treated like villains by those they are trying to protect.
He also stated "I watched a Hero get exposed publicly on the News, the next day their neighbours, people they had invited to garden parties and barbeques, started to treat him like the enemy, someone to be afraid of, their children were ostracized at school, and it only got worse and worse, until finally one day that heroes spouse came home and found them in the garage, in a pool of their blood.... that family lost a loved one because someone decided, I'm going to make money and get ratings by exposing them to the world.
So I ask everyone, everywhere, was it worth it?"
The Neutrals:
The Term Neutral is loosely based, the Sentinel regard the Neutrals as those who can be regarded as neither Good nor Evil, they are those that toe the line. For instance they may do something bad but in the name of doing good, such as murder in order to protect others.
Relations between the Sentinel Super Heroes and those identified as Neutrals are sporadic, they can be good but then turn sour in a moment. So much so that Sentinel refer to the "Neutrals" as neither friends and allies but also not enemies and adversaries.
The Gate-Keepers:
Real Name: Unknown
Super Powers: Immortal, Super Strength and Speed
Goal: Defence of the "Gate"
A total mystery in the world of super powers and abilities, the Gate-keepers are described akin to Cerberus in the legends and tales of Ancient Greece, in that they serves as a Guard Dog for a "Gate".
Very rarely encountered, the Gate-Keepers are known to possess a variety of powers and abilities, first and foremost, they are immortal, it is impossible to truly kill them, they do not age nor do they feel pain, feeding the assumption that they are Supernatural or Dimensional beings. This immortality is backed up with incredible levels of Super Strength and Speed, making them incredibly strong and fast, to the point that they can easily best some of the strongest and fastest heroes and villains on planet Earth.
The pair wear a specific form of armour that match visibly but differ in colouration, one brother wears armour and uses weapons that are coloured in a form of purple whilst the other has the exact same but using red as the primary colour. The connection between the two is extremely close as they appear to speak as one, often finishing each others sentences almost as if they are a singular mind divided into two.
It is unclear even what gender they are, though they have deep masculine voices, its never been certified whether they are truly male, they never refer to themselves as anything other Gate-Keepers or Keepers, nor do they refer to those they encounter by their gender, only using "they" and "them" as well as "this one" and "We" over "Me".
The location of the "Gate" is a heavily guarded secret with its precise position known only to the highest levels of authority in world governments, it is described as being situated in a deep cavern, a large archway with the giant doors of the gate being made of solid stone with strange symbols and runes glowing at different points, access to the gate is only possible over a stone bridge across a "Bottomless chasm". Despite numerous attempts, no one has been able to confirm what the "Gate" is, that which they are fiercely attempting to protect. Sentinel Research has created a number of theories as to what "The Gate" is they are as follows:
- Its a Interdimensional doorway, allowing passage into different dimensions at will
- It grants access to Heaven
- It is literal in that its the gate to Hell
- Its the entrance to a magical tomb
- It seals different monsters in some form of cage
The Gate-keepers are detailed as Neutrals due to them not supporting either side of Good against Evil, they have never left their post alongside the "Gate", only when someone attempts to approach the "Gate" do they move or speak, if anyone regardless of their loyalties attempt to approach the gate, they will stop them, if anyone attempts to open it, they will not pause in killing them. A duty which is clear when one sees the countless skeletons that line the bridge.
El Diablo:
Real Name: Samael
Super Powers: Demonic Powers
Goal: Fun
El Diablo has been wandering around the world for a number of years, often just enjoying himself, he is known to frequent bars, clubs, Gentlemen clubs and all other less savoury locations like fight clubs, casinos, both legitimate and illegal. He doesn't care, as long as he can have fun.
He is detailed as "Neutral" in that he never has really joined either Good or Evil properly, he often switches sides depending on what he sees as the side he can enjoy himself the most. If he feels that he'll have more fun alongside Super Heroes, then he ally himself with them, but if at any point he thinks he'll have more fun with the villains or criminals then he will not hesitate to switch sides.
Thankfully at this moment of time, El Diablo is held in a secure location in one of Sentinels special prison facilities, after he got bored one day and decided to cause trouble, several heroes managed to apprehend and secure him, after a proper trial he was sentenced to imprisonment in a secure facility where he would have something to restrict his powers placed upon him.
He currently remains in a secure cell within this facility, though it is noted that he is often in solitary confinement due to often starting fights both with other Inmates but also against each other for his own amusement.
The Followers of Abel:
Super Powers: Vampiric Abilities
Goal: Opposition to Vampire Supremacy
The Followers of Abel are the latter, an ancient organisation comprised entirely of Vampires and their Human supporters, Easily recognised by their blue or red armour to signify the sky and the sun respectively.
According to the scriptures of the followers, Abel refused to allow his vampiric nature get the best of him, insisting that this is a world for humanity and as such should be ruled by Humans. The group work in a variety of forms to counter their arch rivals the Disciples of Cain, who are greatly in favour of Vampiric supremacy. The Followers of Abel are very restrictive in terms of what their Vampiric members are permitted to do, for instance they are not permitted to kill to drink blood nor are they are not allowed to make spectacles of themselves and above all they do not allow Vampires to assert dominance over humans.
Their sole goal is to prevent Vampires from manipulating the human world and obtaining power over the human beings of the planet, specifically their main rivals the Disciples of Cain. Their methods are what makes it so that they are placed in the "Neutrals", because as their leadership describes it, compared to the darkness that will engulf the planet and the shadow of servitude that will cover humanity if they fail, the questionable acts they do are nothing.
The Followers of Abel have zero to no qualms if it means preventing Vampires from achieving supremacy, supposedly throughout history they have conducted all manner of brutal atrocities to stop their enemies. They have committed all manner of crimes including mass murder, started wars, they feel that to prevent their enemy from winning, they must conduct actions that damn them but if it means that humanity remains unshackled, they do not care. There are suspicions that numerous historical events have been linked to them, for instance the Sacking of Rome, the Witch Trials, the French Revolution, the rise and fall of numerous dynasties in China.
The Followers are known to have a number of sleeper cells operating across the world at varying times, it is suspected by law enforcement that the Followers have a number of cells within a single region at any one time. There is suspicion that certain cities have a number of cells, whilst others have only one or two, what is certain is that whenever the Followers must undertake direct action, such as assassinations they send two agents who are highly trained, individuals who are seemingly ready and willing to fulfil their mission or die in the attempt.
Dedsec:
Super Powers: Advanced Computer Technologies
Goals: Exposure of Corruption
Their goal is to expose various forms of corruption and threats to what they call personal freedoms, for instance the usage of certain network systems in government, law enforcement and business which they view as a threat to the individual freedoms of ordinary people. Dedsec are responsible for the overturning of the "ctOS" and "Blume" systems into service in cities across North America and Europe, by actively hacking various systems exposing the numerous problems the systems possessed and could be easily taken over by more dangerous Hacker groups. But also exposing various scandals and illegal activities performed by the respective companies behind the networks.
They also are known to perform more intrusive hacks and hijacking of corporate servers and computer networks in an effort to expose said corporations and industries in illegal activities. For example, Dedsec are responsible for the exposure of a private corporation in the tampering of Electoral voting machines to ensure that a candidate they had been "funding profoundly", won the election.
Each Dedsec cell operates as autonomously as possible to ensure that if a single cell is compromised the entire organisation is not placed in danger. As well as this, each Dedsec cell operates in slightly altering methods, some conduct themselves with humour, for instance when exposing an organisation or company they do so in a comedic way. Others are more militant having an armed branch with members trained in firearms and actively attack locations in order to gain access to them.
Dedsec are very careful in who they allow into their collective, various law enforcement agencies across the world have attempted to embed an agent or informant into the collective. However every attempt results in the agent or informant being exposed publicly.
Though Dedsec are known for targeting Private corporations, companies, industries as well as government and political individuals, they are categorised as neutral to Sentinel as they do not conduct anything that can be regarded as Evil or a threat to the world. In fact many heroes regard Dedsec as "The Good Guys", since they expose all manner of corruption in the world.
However there have been several altercations between Sentinel Super Heroes and Dedsec in the past, specifically against the more militant branches of the collective.
Known Villians and Groups:
Alpha - Omega:
Super Powers: Advanced Technology
Goal: Eradication of Super Heroes and Villains
Alpha-Omega is the prime example for such groups, they are a force of highly trained agents who are experts in various methods of conflict from active and open fights, but also more clandestine and espionage efforts. Regardless of what they do however they always use highly advanced technologies and weaponry, various pieces of technology that have been known to challenge the techs of Sentinel.
They have a singular goal and that is the total eradication of what they see as dangers to humanity and the world, meaning Super Heroes and by extension Villains. They have made clear in their public declarations that as Heroes present just as much a danger to the world as the villains they challenge, the reasoning is that the mere existence of Heroes opens a challenge.
That ever since Super Heroes made themselves known to the world, the number of threats has increased exponentially, for every hero there is a villain to challenge them, such a challenge incites conflict which in turn incites misery, pain, destruction and death. So to end this cycle of Heroes and Villains, they believe that the only remedy is to completely and utterly wipe out all Heroes and Villains so that the Cycle of one creating the other can end.
It is suspected that there are other groups like their, but the only known Alpha-Omega "Unit" is the group of five individuals who refer to themselves by the colour of their equipment, red, blue, green etc. These "units" conduct a variety of actions with their intention of eliminating the "Threat", attempted murder of heroes, attempted murder of individuals who support them, active attacks on Sentinel Facilities, attempted attacks on Sentinel Prisons with the intent on killing all prisoners within or to break out one of their own.
To date Alpha-Omega are responsible for the murder of 12 Heroes and or Proteges, 21 Sentinel Employees, 18 Police Officers, the bombing of over 32 buildings, the theft of 902 pieces of restricted technologies and countless other crimes.
Followers of Anarchy:
Super Powers: N/A
Goal: Overthrow and removal of all governments
They are known to operate in small cells across the worlds, mostly working in major cities, where they perform all manner of actions to bring about their short term and long term goals. These include hacking of government and private industry servers, attacking figures of authority, vandalism, inciting violence such as protests and riots but also more extreme acts. Such as fire bombing, open attacks against certain targets and so on.
The Followers of Anarchy regard Super Heroes just as corrupt and broken as the governments they seek to bring down, apparently in their eyes Heroes serve the rich and powerful rather than the common good as is claimed. They have been known to attack the Sentinels on several occasion as well as attempting to expose the true identities of Super Heroes so that as their say "Can be Brought into the light".
Intelligence on the Followers is incomplete due to their organisational structure, from has been obtained from hideouts that have been discovered and raided by law enforcement. The group has no true leadership, instead operating as a loose network of sleeper cells that activate on an as needed basis, so when a cell goes quiet for a while, another activates elsewhere, it is unclear how they communicate however it is theorised that they have hacked into various communication systems and disguised their communications with that of legitimate industries and government agencies.
Boss Cass:
Super powers: Advanced Technologies
Goal: Restoration of the "True Natural Order"
Cass is of the opinion that the world is rightfully the property of non mammals, specifically Birds and reptiles, citing that the Dinosaurs were the rulers of the world and as their descendants, Avian species should be their successors as the dominant species on the planet. As such his ultimate goal is to bring about the removal of all mammal species in the world and "Restoring the Natural Order", with individuals such as himself as the absolute rulers of the planet.
Most of his operations are conducted in the regions of Australia, notably the "Special Region" known as Southern Rivers, from a secret stronghold, he conducts all manner of actions to strengthen his position and increase his power. He has a considerable "War Chest" using a vast amount of resources to support this "War Chest", with these resources he hires and recruits other like minded individuals notably other Avians, but also reptiles to his cause, mostly as hired thugs and mercenaries.
To back up his army of thugs and mercenaries, Boss Cass has considerable technological resources, from various weapons, to powerful mechanical machines and aircraft, which includes his personal giant "Walker" a huge robotic machine that towers over most buildings. These robots and machines are all designed and built by Boss Cass's organisation, there is no involvement with outside groups or organisations.
Whilst other Villains and their organisations are known to have involvement with private industries and companies, Boss Cass is entirely different, refusing outright to involve himself with anyone others. Investigations have showed that in the past, a Mining Conglomerate secretly and illegally asked for permission from Boss Cass to start their own mining operations in Southern Rivers in exchange for financial backing.
Boss Cass outwardly refused and made clear that he would never work with mammals.
He has attempted numerous efforts to try and bring about his plan for restoring the natural order, these included the extreme and brutal scientific experimentation to improve his Reptilian followers with the strengths of mammals. But also his previous attempt to take hold of mystical powers of ancient Talismans to banish mammals to an alternative dimnension.
At the moment thanks to investigations, it has become clear that Boss Cass has launched a new effort to recover these mystic ancient talismans that have scattered across the world once again. International efforts are underway by Sentinel and various Law Enforcement and intelligence agencies to obstruct his efforts as well as locate and secure these talismans before he can find them.
Court of Shadows:
Super Powers: N/A
Goal: Global Domination
However certain Sentinel Heroes have gathered different pieces of information that point to a singular conclusion that the the Court of Shadows is a genuine organisation working for some form of power across the world. The Hero "Immorta" has made clear that through his extreme long life they have encountered various incidents that in his mind can only be the work of some organisation that exists in the shadows, working clandestinely through intermediates and proxies to achieve their goals.
According to "Immorta" the Court of Shadows is possibly an ancient organisation that has manipulated world affairs for centuries perhaps even millennia, he claims that various events in history have been the workings of the Court. Such events include, the rise and fall of the roman empire, the various dynasties of China, the rise of Christianity, the conquest of the Americas, various wars, the empowering of centralised governments, the creation of nuclear weaponry etc.
However intelligence agencies do not agreed with Immorta, citing that there is no conclusive evidence to the existence of the Court of Shadows, however Sentinel has continued to investigate on the grounds that there is a distinct possibility. Especially following a series of events around the world that appears to match a similar system, the old adage of "Buy low, sell high". In this case, there is the possibility of someone or some group influencing affairs to obtain more dominance.
Damocles:
Super Powers: Super Strength
Goal: Money
After his term of service was over, he left the military and started working as a mercenary for hire on the international stage, he recruited several individuals who have become very firm in their loyalty to Damocles and his "Private Military Contractor". His group are suspected in several acts across the world, thee include the hunt and capture of several high profile individuals in the Syndicate "Deck of 52" the most feared and wanted men and women in the criminal underworld on planet Earth.
Apparently Damocles is personally responsible for the killing of the "Ace of Spades".
He and his group are also responsible for various other acts across the world, from the ousting of an African warlord which brought about mining rights for a certain conglomerate, the assassination of a political opposition leader, the attack on and seizing of a Facility which resulted in several advanced pieces of technology being stolen by Damocles and his mercenaries.
Damocles is well financed and has the backing of several anonymous clients whom provide him with "Regular Work", his men are well trained, well organised and heavily armed, they have military grade equipment, armoured vehicles, helicopters and even heavily armed drones that serve as tanks when required. Proof of their ability was obtained when an U.S special forces taskforce discovered and assaulted a well organised training camp in central Africa, where various elements proved that Damocles has a small, professional, experienced army at his command, loyal only to the highest bidder.
EXALT:
Super Powers: Advanced Technologies
Goal: Establishment of new world order
The organisation operates in sleeper cells operating across the entire world, members can be anyone and are fiercely loyal to their cause, any attempt at bringing a member in for questioning or arrest has resulted in either EXALT soldier either dying in a shoot out or committing suicide with a lethal injection. Intelligence gleaned from captured EXALT safe houses prove that somewhere in the world there is a centralised base with a proper leadership, however the location of it is a total mystery with law enforcement agencies across the world working to identify the location.
It is unknown just how far and how wide spread the EXALT organisation is, reports have come in from national intelligence agencies discovering that some of their own were member. For example it was discovered that a member of the French Direction générale de la Sécurité intérieure or DGSI, Frances equivalent to the FBI in America, was in fact part of EXALT and was passing along information for years.
Little to nothing is known or proven about EXALTs abilities, however it is known that they have substantial resources due to their soldiers and agents having advanced technologies and weaponry, they also must have some form of laboratory or scientific capabilities as many EXALT agents that have been killed showed signs of significant genetic modification granting them greater strength, speed, heightened senses and even enhanced healing.
Their short term goal is domination, the overthrowing of all national governments either through direct means or through subterfuge, the intention is to establish a single, one Earth government with themselves in charge. Their long term goal however is what they refer to as the advancement of humanity and the enhancement of the "Human Condition", they seek this goal through corrupting sciences, they steal research, technologies etc, to further their goals.
Many science labs, research facilities are under suspicion of either possessing EXALT influence or being directly operated and controlled by the Organisation. They are classified as a Global threat due to their goals, Sentinel Heroes often clash with EXALT, with the latter seeking to obtain genetic samples from various super heroes, so that they may cultivate them and use them to "remove the limits on the human condition".
Harbinger:
Super Powers: Demonic abilities, Super Strength
Goal: Opening of Doorway to alternate Dimension
Coming from an alternate dimension, Harbinger is similar in respects to the super hero Helia, as both come from the same dimension, a form of literal hell. Except Harbinger is far more powerful than her with increased Demonic abilities which include, strength, speed, enhanced healing and demonic influencing. According to information given to Sentinel by Helia, Harbinger is the commander of legions in "Hell", being the most feared and brutal general of the "Dark Lords" armies.
He came to Earth with the singular purpose, apparently according to Helia, the power to create the doorway between their dimension and ours is incredible and could only allow a few through before collapsing. Harbinger is literal as his namesake, his sole purpose on Earth is to accumulate the power needed to open a complete doorway back to "Hell" signalling the start of an invasion that will bring about the complete and utter end of mankind.
To achieve this, Harbinger brought with him a "Magical" device that when properly powered will enable the creation of a stable doorway. This device dubbed "The Hands of Armageddon" is currently held in a top secret facility under the strictest defence, the location of it is accessible only to the most highest authorities with no one allowed access.
Harbinger himself is currently held within a secure Sentinel prison facility where he kept under close guard, with security personnel being constantly rotated out for security reasons. There are however concerns that Harbinger is merely biding his time, waiting for the chance to continue his work and complete his mission.
As the Hero Immorta has put it, "Harbinger is the beginning, and with him, he brought our end"
The Star Lords
Shared Goal: Conquest and subjugation of the Earth
Powerful Alien warlords, the Star-Lords are according to all information given by a member of the Sentinels, a collective of Alien overlords that dominate most of the Milky Way Galaxy, having done so for centuries. Although technically a unified empire, the Star-Lords are constantly vying for power against one another, apparently feuds are common in their culture and often lead to outright warfare.
Whilst there are a number of Lords, there are only 7 true Star Lords, these individuals rule over entire sections of the galaxy as their own fiefdoms. The Star Lords rule a galactic system akin to a feudal society, each lord rules over their domain as an absolute monarch though they are known to share trade routes, cultural identity and traditions, though they can diversify at times.
Each of the Seven Star Lords command vast armies and immense fleets of interstellar ships, with armies numbering in the hundreds of thousands and ships in the hundreds, all of which use powerful advanced weaponry that can easily overpower the technologies of Earth.
And all Seven have designs on Earth, they all collectively desire to conquer the planet and subjugate Earth into their domains, however despite their immense power and technological advantage, they do not seem willing or able to do so. From what is known this is due to their Feudal nature, plus a delicate balance of power between them all, though there is a single Supreme Leader, who can be regarded as an Emperor, this "Supreme Lord" does not hold absolute power.
Whilst alone the Supreme Lord controls the largest, most advanced, most feared army and the largest, deadliest fleet of warships, their power is kept in check by the other 6 Star Lords, meaning if they attempt to impose greater centralised authority, then the other 6 are likely to join forces to challenge them. But this same challenge keeps the Supreme Lord in power, because none of them wish to see any of the others gain more power.
So in effect, if one Star Lord attempts to move on Earth, which they all want for its resources and billions of new serfs/slaves, then the others will and have countered them to ensure that they aren't victorious. They all want Earth, but they are more concerned about making sure that no one else gets it, they are more concerned about maintaining the delicate balance of power between them all. One Super Hero described it as a tug of war, all seven have each their own rope, in effect they are all equal in how hard they're pulling and the last thing they want is to see someone get more strength to pull more in their favour.
Supreme Lord Cy-Ro:
He controls the largest territory within their Empire and commands the strongest single army and fleet of interstellar warships, though it has been made clear that against a singular opponent, Cy-Ro will be able easily overpower them with his military might. His power is kept in check by a combination of the other powerful Star-Lords, who if united against him can challenge and even overcome his strength.
According to information, he controls a huge swath of their empire reigning as an overlord, with legions of followers who serve him and rule over individual planets in his name, though never to the point that they can gain the power needed to become a threat.
Cy-Ro is regarded as a political creature, using the division among the other Star-Lords to maintain his own power not just as a Star-Lord himself but also as the Supreme Lord and ultimate judge. Meaning whenever there is a dispute, often the other Star-Lords refer to him to serve as the judge of the argument.
His interests in Earth are two fold, first in that he like the others seeks to claim the planet for its resources and the billions of humans that would become his serf and slaves. However his true focus is ensuring that none of the other Star-Lords make a committed effort to take control of Earth, seeing it as the means for whomever controls the planet to challenge his military might and authority.
He often uses the very political and divided feudal nature of the Star-Lords to ensure his currently desired outcome, that none of them control Earth. Whenever he feels that one of the other Star-Lords is making a move to seize control of Earth, then he manipulates the others to counter it, ensuring that his hands are kept metaphorically clean.
Lady Helgath:
She uses this wealth to her advantage, paying for the finest of everything to impress and flaunt her power, her armies have the most expensive equipment, she maintains the largest warships that she alone is capable of paying for. Though she doesn't have an large army at her beck and call, her wealth allows her to easily employ countless of mercenaries to boost her military power.
It is also this wealth that she uses to maintain her power not just in her own domain but also among the other Star-Lords. Information states that she has often provided loans to the other Star-Lords which she uses to maintain influence, not just by lording their debts over them. But also by giving bribes to the minor lords that rule over individual planets in their Star-Lords name, from these bribes she is able to get information that enables her to challenge the other Star-Lords before they can make a move on her.
Her interests in Earth are the natural resources, not just those that are known to Humans but also those yet discovered in the surrounding planet. But also the billions of serfs and slaves that she can use to her advantage not just as soldiers but also as workers, mining the resources of the solar system, working in the factories and refineries that will turn raw materials into the valuable goods for her to increase her wealth and by extension her power.
Lady Helgaths main method for her goal, is greed, it has been noted in previous encounters with her subordinates that she is attempting to influence powerful figures around the world through their own personal greed. Offering them vast amounts of wealth and power in exchange for their loyalty when she makes her move to take over the planet properly. Thankfully these attempts have been thwarted by law enforcement and Sentinel, but also by other Star-Lords wanting to limit her power and curtail her monopoly on wealth.
Lord Akhos:
The means that he maintains his power within his domain is simple and plain, fear, he makes clear that any resistance to his rule will be met with extreme terror and brutality. According to the Super Hero "Star-Guard", one time a minor lord in his domain rebelled against his master and attempted to rally support to overthrow Akhos. Akhos then committed complete and utter destruction over the planet in question, slaughtering tens of thousands when he ordered his armada to reign fire down from orbit, completely laying waste to an entire city.
Any captured rebels or their supporters, were not treated kindly, all were forced to suffer extreme methods of execution that focused on the inflicting of pain for the sake of inciting fear among the populace.
This same aspect and inducing of fear, also works to an extent on his fellow Star-Lords, since his reputation spreads far and wide, few seek to face his wrath, though the other Star-Lords do not fear him, their subordinates do and often council to avoid conflict with him when it can be avoided.
Fear is his primary method of trying to claim Earth for himself, he wishes to incite fear, terror and panic among the populace of Earth, his aim is to force the people to surrender their freedom and their planet to him out of plain and simple fear of him. But this method has come back to bite him, a few years ago he launched a major strike against a city on Earth, Sentinel Heroes from across the world responded and drove back his force.
Apparently according to the hero "Star-Guard", this has caused a major blow to his reputation and has made him more zealous, according to intelligence gleaned from intercepted transmissions, Akhos is currently distracted in reaffirming and solidifying his power following his defeat on Earth.
Lady Kya:
Apparently Lady Kya controls some of the most lavishly built and floral worlds in their empire which she uses to control her influence as most of the most expensive goods like exotic wines, foods and other luxuries come from her domain. According to "Star-Guard" she has her own cult of lust which she uses to influence not only her own domains but also those of the other Star-Lords, with individuals held in her power through threats of blackmail and extortion, based on what happened within her festivities.
According to information, she is regarded as one of if not thee most beautiful and desired Star-Lord in their empire if not their entire species. Which she uses to her advantage, whenever she feels that one the minor lords in her domain is getting "Too big for their boots", she seduces them and uses he looks to lure them into a trap.
She desires Earth for a mix of things on the one hand its the power she can obtain from the huge population of the planet, but also for the varied environments that she feels she could use to her advantage. And not just Earth but other planets in the Solar System which apparently according to intelligence she intends to terraform into lavish, luxurious planetary resorts to increase her influence and power.
Lord Entar:
According the information we have, Entar controls what is called the "Shadow Domain" a region of space that is held within a "Shadow Nebula" some kind of Spatial anomaly that is capable of absorbing light thus restricting just how much reaches the planets within the region, making each planet gripped in near permanent night. On these planets, Entar maintains his power through the manipulation of secrets and hidden truths, apparently he controls a powerful network of spies and sleeper agents across the Star-Lords Empire.
His agents are so numerous that apparently he is able to learn anything and everything on the other Star-Lords as well as their various subordinates. It is through the shadows that he maintains his control, using the information his network gathers to manipulate others and maintain his power. If required he is not afraid to use these very spies and sleeper agents for other means, such as assassination and sabotage, if he feels that someone is growing too powerful, he will activate his agents to cause havoc or eliminate the threat.
Entar has desires on Earth for two specific reasons, the first is to gain control of a region of space that will enable him to start making greater moves to expand his domain beyond the "Shadow Nebula", but also to remove the possibility that one of the other Star-Lords will obtain enough power to make the secrets, falsehoods and hidden truths he has on them to be worthless and by extension lose the influence he has over them.
Lord Krom:
Krom reigns over a extreme domain where nearly every planet is practically industrialised with the entire surface nothing more than metal, cities feeding workers into the huge industrial districts. Orbits of several worlds are lined with giant shipyards where warships of all kinds are manufactured both for his own armada but also for selling onto his fellow Star-Lords. Planets that have resources of any kind are practically ruined for the sake of the resources the planet can provide, for example, say there is a jungle planet with some form of mineral that can be used to make weapons and ships.
Krom will burn the jungles to make it easy to get at the resources he desires, for he never seeks the best solution but rather the easiest and quickest as long as he gets what he wants.
His interests in Earth are just as clear cut, he seeks the various resources that Earth and the surrounding planets possess, as well as the huge population of Planet Earth which he can use to feed his war machine, billions of new warriors in his army or slaves in the mines, refineries or factories. But whenever he makes even the slightest indication that he is intending on launching an invasion of Earth, he find himself facing the threats of the other Star-Lords combined.
Lord Rynos:
Whilst he does not possess a large and impressive fleet of warships and a massive army of warriors, he is capable of challenging the other Star-Lords military power due to the capabilities of his technologies. It is reported that a single warship of Rynos's fleet is equal to three or four of the warships and it is this equal footing that makes it so that Rynos despite not having a huge force, can sit among the other Star-Lords with little to fear.
As with the other Star-Lords, Rynos has interests with Earth, though not just for the same reasons as the other Star-Lords, the power he can obtain from the increase of his armies from the humans of Earth. But also his interest in the simplicity of the technologies of Earth, of how despite the apparent simple technologies humans possess, they have managed to challenge and even best the forces of the different Star-Lords.
As well as the various "Scientific Anomalies" that are apparently focused around Earth, anomalies like Magic and alternative dimensions. He desires taking Earth into his domain in order to study these anomalies, these strange things, that he might learn from them and use them to increase his power. The idea of combining science and magic to create new technologies that will give him the means of expanding his power and influence over the other Star-Lords.
Moriaty:
Super Powers: N/A
Goal: Power and Money
The common practice of Moriaty that is known to law enforcement and intelligence agencies, is the enacting of criminal or terrorist actions to bring about some form of change in the world markets. For instance, information from "Holmes" shows that Moriaty manipulated the global oil industry by threatening an OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) summit to ensure that a specific industrial deal goes through ensuring that a certain company that Moriaty has a major stake in wins a unique contract worthy hundreds of millions.
Another example would be an attempt to overturn the Greenlandic decision to create a natural and environmental preserve across most of the north eastern region of the island, which curtailed any access to various sources of mineral wealth for mining companies. In this case, Holmes with the support of Sentinel and law enforcement managed to prevent Moriatys manipulation to be successful.
The exact identity of Moriaty makes any effort to find and arrest them exceedingly difficult and near impossible, however Interpol alongside national law enforcement and intelligence agencies have come together to form alongside Sentinel an international taskforce with the express goal to curtail Moriaty and their efforts to manipulate events. Chief among these is Sherlock Holmes, who when not working on other cases, focuses most of his effort to identify Moriaty, take apart their network and bring the "Napoleon of Crime" to justice.
Roxxon:
Super Powers: Stolen Technologies:
Goal: Acquirement of technologies for power and profit
For many years, Roxxon Industries was contracted by various governments to assist in the clean up of major incidents that involved super heroes and super villains. Which garnered them access to restricted technologies and materials that have made them a very advanced in the field of tech industry.
This has brought the company into numerous incidents with Sentinel and international law enforcement, on numerous occasions, individuals working for Roxxon Industries have been caught red handed attempting to steal advanced technologies that no private company is not permitted to have. These individuals are always discredited and ostracised by the company with the board of directors and the CEO declaring that these individuals and groups were acting outside of the companies authority.
However given the number of incidents, many suspect that the CEO of Roxxon as well as the Board of Directors is secretly backing these efforts in the name of profits. The targeted technologies are always those much desired by various industries across the world and if captured and used by Roxxon, would enable them to practically monopolise numerous corporate sectors. For instance if they can get their hands on advanced weaponry seized by law enforcement agencies and Sentinel, then they could reverse engineer them and make unimaginable profits from their sale.
Roxxon Industries has in their arsenal not only a large collection of high priced and successful lawyers and legal councillors, but also their own Private Military Contractors which they refer to as their Security Division, which is often the one that comes under the most scrutiny by law enforcement. Mostly because it is this security division that is often the ones being caught attempting to steal advanced technologies, on one occasion, a facility holding seized technologies from different villains in the United States was attacked by these Security personnel. They were only stopped thanks to intervention by Sentinel Super Heroes, the company quickly disavowed the individuals responsible claiming that they had all been terminated from the company and had stolen weapons and equipment from the company before leaving.
Shockwave:
Super Powers: Ability to create waves of energy
Goal: Revenge
Apparently in the final court case, he shouted that the law was biased in favour of Supers and swore that if the law was not going to hold them responsible, he will find justice his own way.
He possesses the ability to create and manipulate shockwaves, in essence with a stomp of his foot, he can cause minor quakes in the earth, a solid clap of his hands can create a shockwave that can travel through the air with force. Shockwave has enhanced his powers following his fathers death though, with a combination of vigorous training and practice as well as technological augmentation including a powerful "Shock Rifle" that he created himself strengthens the shockwaves he can produce.
At full power this rifle in combination with his powers can bring down a building or cause powerful earth tremors.
Shockwave only cares for one thing and that is finding and killing the Heroes he blames for his fathers death, everything he does from robbing banks, working for organised crime etc, all of it is to make it so he can improve his powers and weapons and get him strong enough to face the heroes he blames.
He has been captured by Sentinel several times and sentenced for his crimes within Sentinel constructed prisons, however he has escaped a number of times. During his incarceration, he was evaluated by a Psychologist and it was determined that Jason Elridge aka Shockwave is suffering from psychological Displacement.
The defemination being "Redirecting an emotional reaction (usually anger) from the rightful recipient onto another, safer person or object", in this case Shockwave is mentally placing the blame for the death of his father on the Super Heroes present, rather than the circumstances involved. The psychologist also believes that Shockwave is a prime example case for the frustration-aggression hypothesis, the Theory that when individuals cannot confront the true source of their frustration, they often blame someone more vulnerable.
The Computes:
Super Powers: Advanced Technologies
Goal: Technological Revolution
A radical group of technological obsessed self proclaimed revolutionaries, The Computes believe that through the advancement and implementation of technology, humanity can evolve to greater heights and surpass its biological limits.
The group possess various advanced technologies that they have either created themselves or have stolen from various industries, secure Government facilities and even from Sentinel. Their intention is to use these technologies to improve themselves not just with useable tech but also augmentation through cybernetics. A number of captured Compute members have been discovered to possess a number of cybernetic augmentations, for example one arrested member possessed a cybernetic heart and a fully prosthetic cybernetic hand.
Though it is not just internal technologies they are known to use, but also mechanical systems and weapons that improve their physicality, for example some members use what they call "Thunder Fists" which are large mechanical fists that are worn over their hands to increase their punching force and physical strength. They have arsenals of advanced weaponry including powerful miniature rail guns they call Rail Rifles, enhanced electro-stick like large police batons that deliver intense electric shocks upon contact.
Their short term goal is the procurement of advanced technologies through various means, they are known to frequent illicit black markets, underground auctions etc, in an effort to purchase anything of interest. They are able to pay for such things through their numerous crimes that range from bank robberies, petty theft, smuggling of illegal goods but notably cyber crimes such as ransomware, corporate hacking, blackmail and extortion. They also are known to frequently attempt efforts to steal advanced technologies from authorities, with one example an actual attack by the Computes on a Spanish government convoy transporting confiscated technologies for destruction.
In the long term however, they see the advancement and use of technology as the means of propelling humanity beyond its limits, in effect pushing humanity beyond the so called human condition. To this goal they work to implement a global technological revolution, it is has been confirmed that they are funded and supported by other villains notably the EXALT organisation seeing as they share some theological ideals.
The Disciples of Cain:
Super Powers: Vampiric Abilities
Goal: Vampire Supremacy
The Disciples of Cain are the former, they are the disciples of the First "Vampire King", biblically known as Cain, the worlds first murderer. According the vampire histories, Cain killed Abel due to differences in opinion, Abel wishing to live alongside humans and Cain seeing them as little more than chattel to serve their betters. The Disciples believe that since Vampires are stronger, faster and immortal they are the rightful rulers of the world and humans are meant only to serve, both as serfs, slaves but also cattle.
And despite the countless centuries, their Zealotry and supremacist ideals have not changed, for centuries the Disciples have worked in secret, manipulating mankind into all manner of atrocities and dark times to secure their control and domination. Any vampires that do not support their "Crusade" are looked on as traitors to their race and are treated viciously, information points to numerous members of the Followers of Abel suffering extreme tortures when captured.
The Disciples are known to work similar in regards to their opponents, working in secret, operating in the shadows to increase their power. They are led by a Council of Elders, who are said to be among the oldest Vampires in existence and have commanded the Disciples for centuries in their mission to bring about Vampiric supremacy.
Tusk Hunter:
Super Powers: Advanced Technologies
Goal: Money
An infamous international bounty hunter, Tusk Hunter believe it or not was the son of a Super Hero, his father was the renowned Tusker, who was the son of Tursk one of the founding members of the Sentinels.
However unlike his father, Tusk Hunter did not inherit the super powers of his grandfather, something that apparently caused all manner of disputes between father and son. These disputes and arguments only ended when Tusker died in the line of duty as a Super Hero, according to certain sources, Tusk Hunter blamed Super Heroes for raising his fathers hopes for his son and enforcing the shame that he suffered as being the son of a hero without powers.
He joined the United States Marines when he was 18 and later joined the Navy Seals, graduating Tier 1 Training and becoming a member of Seal team 6 when he was 27. He later left the military and started working as a bounty hunter, however before going into hiding and starting his career, he broke into a Sentinel secure facility and stole various pieces of technology and equipment including his grandfathers helmet.
Since then he has been connected with several high profile bounties across the world, he has little care as to whom he works for or who the bounty belongs too. Tusk Hunter has been confirmed to have been the one to kidnap a Russian Oligarchs son for a rival, captured and returned a Chinese Triad boss to authorities in Beijing, he kidnaped and delivered to a African warlord a man who had been working for the C.I.A.
All of this done for the payment he is given upon "Delivery of the Targets".
Despite many attempts to find and capture him for trial, Tusk Hunter has proven very capable of avoiding law enforcement in various countries as well as different intelligence agencies that are also on the look out for him. It is assumed that the technologies he stole from Sentinel may be the cause of this as well as his experience as a tier 1 operative.
He is responsible for the kidnapping of a Sentinel Member, a super hero who then had their identity exposed to the world before being forced to endure hours of torture and their body displayed in a public place.
It is clear that Tusk Hunter does not care who he works for, who is he paid to hunt, only that he gets paid.
