Tactical Forces under Bureau Directive:
As an international Organisation, the Bureau of United Research and Defence (B.U.R.D Watchers) is required to maintain a series of specialised sub groups in regards of its Four main Branches, Security, Research, Investigation and Containment.
To name each and every unit, subsection, investigative unit, task force, research group etc. Would be extensive and is not permitted under the Bureau's Classification Directives. As such this document shall solely detail the Sections within the four Branches of the Bureau that each, unit, investigative unit, task force and research group are classified under, as permitted under the Classified Access Clearance required to access this file.
Due to security reasons all faces are censored under Bureau Classification Directives, only authorised personnel are permitted to access such information.
Any attempt to access this information without proper clearance or authorisation shall result in immediate arrest and disciplinary charges.
A [Analysis] Sections:
Sections designated by the Letter A are divisions of the Bureau that serve as its research and study sections, they are entirely responsible for the data and information that the Bureau has achieved over the years of its operation.
A.1 [Analysis.1]: "E.T Techs"
Creation: 1942 - Reorganised 1947
Designation: Active Research Sections
Specialisation: Research and Study of secured Exterestrial Technology
Current Division Head: Dr Xin Yi
One of the earliest sections established by the Bureau, originally section A.1 was formed as part of the precursor of the Bureau. The Allied Special Operation, codenamed Operation Birdwatcher during the height of the Second World War, the focus at the time was the research of captured Technologies taken during missions by Operation Forces.
Following the end of the war, A.1 possessed two purposes, the first being the continued research of all secured technologies as well as the proper securing and archiving of research and the technologies themselves in secure facilities or Vaults.
In the aftermath of the Roswell Incident and the formal creation of the Bureau of United Research and Defence, A.1 was instituted as a research section of the Bureau. They were responsible for the initial research and analysis of the Roswell artifacts as well as the actual Saucer craft.
Ever since the Research Labs and Teams part of A.1 have been credited with several technological advances for the Bureau and by extension the Earth. Such technologies include the advancement of communications and more commonly recognised technology known to the public, at the same time several more classified technologies exclusive to the Bureau. Such as advanced renewable energy production, advanced construction technologies, advanced weapons systems, advanced communications and more.
A.1 is also one of the Sections where non-humans are involved, such as Subject 461 also known as Rosewell. Who was given sanctuary on Earth and has been noted as a great help in the study of Non-Human Technologies.
The technologies the Section is responsible for can be anything from the actual Saucer of the Roswell Incident, all the technologies found within to pieces of technology found across the world. For security reasons all technologies when not being properly studied or product of research are to be properly sealed away in secure vaults.
The Security required for each piece of technology is designated based on its classification.
Level 1: Small pieces of little danger or require only standard security
Level 2: Technology that is of average danger
Level 3: Technology that is exceedingly dangerous and require extensive security procedures
A.2 [Analysis 2]: "Bio E.T"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Active Research Sections
Specialisation: Research and Study of Capture or Eliminated Exterestrial
Current Division Head: Dr Henry Wu
A.2 has the sole focus of the studying of Exterestrial life forms both alive and deceased, their duties include the performing of autopsies and examination of Exterestrial creatures, species and creations that have either been discovered deceased or have been killed by Bureau Special Forces. They are also responsible for the study of Exterestrial creatures, species and creations that have either been directly captured by Bureau Special Forces or for certain Species, performing active research at secure reservations in the wild.
It is their responsibility for the proper study of Exterestrial life forms in all regards for the betterment of the Bureaus Directive, primarily to better the methods of containment and security of those Exterestrial creatures, species and creations that are deemed dangerous.
For security reasons, A.2 are required to ensure that all Biological samples and bodies are to be properly sealed within cryogenic vaults under strict Bureau safety protocols.
A.3 [Analysis 3]: "Occultists"
Creation: 1942 - reorganised 1947
Designation: Active Research Sections
Specialisation: Research and Study of Occultic, Mythical, Supernatural Artifacts
Current Division Head: Professor Henry Jones Junior 4th
Those research sections part of A.3 are solely focused around the research and study of artifacts that are of occultic, mythic or supernatural nature. Due to the ever expansive discovery of various artifacts that are closely linked to some of the worlds religions being discovered to be in truth supernatural artifacts.
Sections of A.3 are required to ensure absolute secrecy in regards of their work, as well as this all members of the A.3 sections cannot be in any form be believers of religious faiths of any kind at least not directly. As well as this A.3 must maintain an element of respect and candour in regards of their work, due to the wishes of the Bureau Directors as well as the United Nations not wishing to insult any faith or belief.Due to the dangers apparent with some of the artifacts that the research sections of A.3 are responsible for, it has often been too dangerous for direct research to be conducted on the secured Artifacts. As such all research into those artifacts are to be performed through the use of computer systems and remote operated Robotics, this is to ensure the risk to the Researchers is kept low.
Especially since some of the artifacts held and researched by the Bureau have been known to emit dangerous energy signatures. Such as Object 119 "Die Glocke" which was a Nazis Wonder Weapon that produces a powerful energy that is fatal to all living organisms.
All personnel of A.3 are required to undergo constant routine medical and psychological testing and evaluation, for reasons of both medical, scientific and security purposes. Failure to do so shall result in immediate Disciplinary action and possible dismissal.
A.4 [Analysis 4]: "Monster Research"
Creation: 1950
Designation: Active Research Sections
Specialisation: Research and Study of captured or killed Supernatural creatures and entities
Current Division Head: Dr Wilhelm Kruger
Research Sections of A.4 are solely specialised on the study and research of all Supernatural creatures and Entities, they are not to research any objects or items that are of a supernatural status, their sole focus are living creatures. As such they are required to observe strict safety procedures, under no circumstances are researchers of A.4 permitted to enter the containment areas of any and all live subjects or species' unless they are safely contained and secured.
A.4 was established following discoveries of "Monsters" by Bureau investigations as well as discoveries following interactions with hostile groups. Due to excessive danger of a number of subjects, species and entities A.4 are responsible for, there exist a number of containment procedures unique to them to ensure that Containment is maintained.
This can include the "Flash Burn Protocol", where the research wing in which a subject, species or entity is held within has breached containment. In event safe containment or recapture cannot be performed, the protocol dictates that all personnel must evacuate immediately or be sealed inside as one of three instances occur. 1st Flash Fire, where the entire wing is engulfed in a single powerful surge of fire over 1,000 degrees, flash freeze, where the temperature of the wing is dropped in quick succession to near -150 degrees, flash electric where the entire wing becomes electrified with anything and everything inside being electrocuted with the full force of 100'000 Joules.
A.5 [Analysis 5]: "Bio Labs"
Creation: 1955
Designation: Active Research Sections
Specialisation: Biological and Chemical Research
Current Division Head: Professor Martin Woodthorpe
Research Sections of the A.5 Designated, are solely focused on the research and study of anything and everything of a chemical or biological nature. Whilst other sections focus on the research of subjects, species, entities and objects, A.5 are solely that which requires forensic examination. This includes all biological samples taken at secured sites or taken from either living or deceased subjects and species.
Due to the present danger of biological and chemical contamination, all research wings of A.5 are to maintain closed air conditioning, specialised filters in air ventilation systems as well as airborne scrubbers to ensure that the wings remain negative pressured to ensure the danger of any biological or chemical contaminants escaping and presenting an immediate health hazard.
All researchers, technicians and support staff of A.5 are required to undergo routine medical examinations to ensure that they are free of any possible contaminant. Failure to do so shall result in immediate disciplinary action and possible dismissal.
A.6 [Analysis 6]: "Ghost Study"
Creation: 1960
Designation: Active Research Sections
Specialisation: Research and Study of Paranormal Creatures, Entities and Beings
Current Division Head: Dr Anna Smyth
Sections of Research under the Classification of A.6 are those responsible for the research of any and all paranormal creatures and entities, these include subjects that are referred to as Ghosts and Spectres. Due to the difficult nature of such research, research sections of A.6 are provided highly advanced equipment and facilities that enable them to perform extensive research.Originally founded during the initial foundation of the Bureau, A.6 was not properly established in proper, until 1960 following the first solid confirmation of an active Paranormal entity that could be properly captured and contained by the Bureau Special Forces.
Due to possible dangers, research and study of Paranormal creatures, entities and beings is to be strictly controlled and under careful supervision. A.6 are restricted from performing direct contact with any captured subject unless given special authorisation.
All A.6 research wings are secured with special security measures nick named "Tesla Cages" which have been proven to form a solid barrier to any and all known Paranormal creatures, entities and beings.
As well as this, all research personnel of A.6 are required to undergo regular psych evaluations for both medical, scientific and security reasons. Failure to do so shall result in immediate disciplinary action and possible dismissal.
A.7 (Analysis 7): "Expeditions"
Creation: 1967
Designation: Active/ On Site Research
Specialisation: observation and research of uncontained Species
Current Division Head: Dr Alan Grant
Since not all subjects, species and objects are not possible to be properly contained by the Bureau, it is sometimes required for Bureau operatives to perform what has become known as Expeditions. This is when the Bureau establishes a long term presence in an area where a species that comes under the directive of the Bureau is known to inhabit. This includes species such as Species 110 [The Centipedes] or Species 498 [The Millipedes], the purpose of such research is to properly and ethically contain the species within their natural environment as well as to perform active studying of the species. Sometimes this means that the sections will be on the constant move in order to properly research different regions of a species, such as in the case of Genus Hominem Bigfoot, with the research team assigned are often on the move to perform study of different Familial groups of the different Sub Species.
Such efforts can often require the A.7 Sections to construct research outposts within the area of focus, however for secrecy, these outposts are required to resemble research centres and are to look basic in nature. However certain more long term Research Outposts have been expanded on over time, such as with the Species 110, with the research Outpost being expanded on beneath the original site to include more updated pieces of equipment and technologies required for research and study of the species.
However regulations are clear and precise for Sections of A.7, they are not allowed to interact directly with the species they are studying, they are not permitted to interfere with the natural lives of the species, a strict distance must be maintained and when performing observations of a species, camouflage must be maintained to avoid interference, permission to interfere is only allowed if the threat of containment is viable, secrecy of the species is under threat or an individual of the species is affected by an illness or disease.
Sections designated CE are the divisions of the Bureau responsible for the maintaining the secrecy of the Bureau, its operations and all Subjects, Species, Objects and anomalies that fall into its directive. They are resonsible for the creation, implementation and enforcement of manufactured cover stories that ensure the common populace remains unaware of what is really happening.
They are also responsible for the clean up of secured sites of any and all evidence to again ensure the secrecy of the Bureau. It is also their duty to handle any direct witnesses to an event, subject, etc. They are granted powers to perform a number of actions to ensure the secrecy of the Bureaus operations, but all actions must be cleared by the United Nations Security Council.
Creation: 1947
Designation: Censorship Section
Specialisation: Observation and "Silencing" of Witnesses
Current Division Head: Operations Chief William Eriksson
Sections of CE.1 also referred to as the Men In Black due to their appearance are a special section of the Bureau who are charged with the ensuring of the handling of witnesses either direct or indirect to anything under the Bureau Prerogative and Directive.Formed during the early foundation of the Bureau, CE.1 was originally charged with the proper silencing of individuals present during the Roswell Incident in 1947.
Their purpose is clearly defined in the handling of Witnesses, but under no circumstances are they permitted to perform any action that would bring harm to the witnesses. Actions such as threats, blackmail, bribery etc, are permitted under the Bureau however all must be done with proper authorisation.
In event that witnesses have in their possession evidence of their encounters or evidence of other encounters they themselves were not witnesses for. CE.1 shall perform undercover missions to identify the severity of the situation and the reliability of the "Evidence", if the matter is indeed a threat to the Bureaus Directive on Secrecy then CE.1 will report this to the other CE. sections as well as Containment Sections for retrieval and censorship.
Members of CE.1 are required to undergo extensive training in law enforcement procedures, acting, language as well as investigative techniques. For security reasons, all members of CE.1 are required to have extensive background checks as well as utter clearance of their identities such as the removal of their finger prints.
CE.2 [Censor 2]: "Censor Screen"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Censorship Section
Specialisation: Censorship of Written, public, military, governmental, official records
Current Division Head: Operations Chief Daniel Carlson
Established during the initial creation of the Bureau of United Research and Defence, CE.2 was initially formed with the original members of Operation Birdwatcher, notably the intelligence agents who ensured the secrecy of the operation.Sections of CE.2 are regarded as the paper pushers of Censorship, their sole focus is the proper censorship of any and all physical and computer files that are related to incidents that the Bureau has investigated or has direct control over.
They are also responsible for the alteration of official records in regards of recruitment and loss of Bureau personnel, should an individual be recruited into the Bureau then their records shall be altered by CE.2 to reflect the chosen cover story for their work. Or should an individual suffer an injury or die during the duties, then, again CE.2 are required to undertake the proper alteration of official records to reflect the chosen cover story for the loss.
They are required to work with all sections of the Bureau to ensure the proper censorship of all data a files for security reasons. This includes any internal communication between Bureau Operation Stations or Outposts, to ensure that nothing sensitive is leaked to unauthorised personnel.
CE.2 also work in close relation with other Censor Sections, for example, should CE.1 locate information held by a third party or member of the public, CE.2 will decide whether or not the information requires Censorship
CE.3 [Censor 3]: "Public Relations"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Censorship Section
Specialisation: Creation and Formulation of Cover Stories
Current Division Head: Head of Public Relations Tau Plessis
Established following the 1947 incident in Roswell and the establishment of the Bureau by the United Nations, the Directive of Secrecy for all actual Bureau operations, actions, personnel, resources etc was put into effect.CE.3 sections are heavily required for the actuality of this directive, it is the purpose of CE.3 sections to fabricate any and all cover stories required for the Bureau to release to the public via the use of agents, operatives in various media apparatuses around the world. If the nation has a state controlled Media system then the cover story or altered version shall be given to the State in question for them to release.
For obvious reasons, all Cover stories and alterations to the truths must be properly agreed upon and authorised by the Bureau Directors as well as the United Nations Security Council members and the National Government within the borders the incident is present.
The only time that CE.3 interact with the public is when members of the Bureaus various Branches, Sections and Sub Sections have died in the line of duty, in the same manner of law enforcement or armed forces conduct themselves when informing the families or loved ones of the death. They will properly maintain the Directive of Secrecy when informing next of kin on the death of loved ones and shall use the cover story for the death in line with other CE. Sections.
Besides such matters, CE.3 do not interact with the general public for the implementation or enforcement of Cover Stories, for that is the prerogative of other CE. sections.
CE.4 [Censor 4]: "Story Tellers"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Censorship Section
Specialisation: Performance of Cover Story
Current Head of Division: Head of Media Relations Jane Austin
Sections of CE.4 are responsible for direct involvement with local, regional, national and international news and media services. They are the so called public faces of the Bureau, whenever an incident is caught by the public eye and requires the Bureaus intervention, it is CE.4 sections that will provide the answers.Of course these answers are not the absolute truths, CE.4 will only give information that has been properly vetted and authorised by sections of CE.3. Sections of CE.4 are the only Censorship Section that is properly allowed to be seen fully by the public eye.
For instance an operative of CE.4 may be someone spoken too by a news caster in regards of an incident that the Bureau has control over. They may present themselves as official spokespeople of the Bureau or in service of a nations government or a private company, corporation or industry that is controlled by the Bureau.
Agents of sections CE.4 are required to undergo extensive training in advanced acting techniques as well as training in sociology, politics and psychology. All of which is to enable them to properly undergo the duties expected of them in ensuring the continued secrecy of the Bureau.
CE.5 [Censor 5]: "Mind Benders"
Creation: 1975
Designation: Censorship Section
Specialisation: Usage and implementation of MK Ultra Memory Alteration
Current Head of Division: Doctor Albert Luvell
In the event that a witness or witnesses have observed too much to properly ensure the continued secrecy of the Bureau and its directives, such as the case of several subjects currently held in containment by the Bureau. Then the Bureau will authorise the use of Memory Alteration, the use of which is well practiced and refined. Originally theorised during the founding of the Bureau in 1947, the method of such memory alteration was not properly used until the MK Ultra program conducted by the United States Central Intelligence Agency in the late 1960.
The Bureau took the research and continued the study until with the aid of non earth technologies a means of altering the memories of a subject was proven successful and MK Ultra Memory Alteration was authorised by the United Nations Security Council for usage in ensuring continued secrecy of the Bureaus directive.
Sections of CE.5 are responsible for the management, handling and implementing of the MK Ultra memory alteration upon witnesses that required memory altering to ensure secrecy. Proper medical security is held in place during the procedures to ensure that those required to undergo the procedure does not suffer any ill effects.
As per directives by the United Nations Security Council, the usage of the MK Ultra Memory Alteration is only to be used on those whose silence cannot be properly assured, such as those who have witnessed or had direct contact with subjects, entities, objects and or species.
WARNING: USAGE OF MK ULTRA SYSTEMS WITHOUT AUTHORISATION WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISCIPLINARY ACTION.
CE.6 [Censor 6]: "Builders"
Creation: 1944 - re-established 1947
Designation: Censorship Section
Specialisation: Physical Alteration of Secured Sites
Current Head of Division: Rebecca Lowe
Originally established to maintain the secrecy of captured Nazis Wonder Weapons facilities, Section CE.6 was later one of the few "Operation Birdwatcher" sections to remain active following the final surrender of the Third Reich. They were tasked with carefully dismantling certain facilities captured by the Allies that came under the Operations purview under the guise of disarmament.
The section was called on following the "Rosewell Incident" in which they were reorganised into a new section that would censor the landscape rather than just deconstruct.
Sections of CE.6 are responsible for the physical alterations of sites that the Bureau has investigated, the reason is to alter the actual site in a literal sense, they will alter the local environment to ensure that any presence of the Bureau or the investigation is none existent. This includes everything visible, so rocks, the landscape even any buildings within the area, the point being to remove any sign of what has happened.
This means performing extensive work to remove, replace and reshape the local environment of a site, to ensure that once the site is released to the Public once again any trace of what the Bureau was investigating and or contained cannot be traced by any would be investigators.
This can involve any form of methods, from using concentrated explosives to actively destroy and alter the site, on one occasion CE.6 was granted permission to actively produce a major forest fire in a region to utterly destroy all evidence and alter the site and surrounding area.
An example of their work in this regard is the alteration of the Rosewell site, in which CE.6 successfully altered the topography of the site to ensure that any sign of a crash landing was not visible to the naked eye.
CE.6 sections are also responsible for maintaining Active Containment facilities that are in the eye of the public, an example of such work is in the sarcophagus containment in Chernobyl.
Divisions of the Bureau under the designation of CO. are those sections that have the duty of properly identifying, collecting and containing anything and everything from sites and locations that have been secured by Bureau military forces.
Containment Sections are required to identify that which is within their purview and ensure safe containment and transportation for research and study in a proper research facility.
Creation: 1947
Designation: On Site Research and Containment Section
Specialisation: Safe Removal of all biological and or organic material from Secured Sites
Current Head of Division: Doctor Donald Mallard
After the safe removal of a subject, object or anomaly from a site, it is the duty of Containment sections to safely remove all evidence from a site before Censorship can begin their work.
Sections of CO.1 will enter secured sites alongside CO.2 and CO.5 to ensure that nothing is missed but also to ensure that each section is not performing any action that could damage the focus of the other. However an agent of CO.1 will be on hand with the other two to ensure that anything of a forensic nature in their purview is not at risk of contamination.
Containment 1 sections are responsible for forensic works in regards of on site research, their duty to is to identify and collect samples of blood, other bodily fluids, hair and even entire bodies or body parts when present.
They will perform on site autopsies if required or will identify any that would require proper examination in more suitable facilities. They are also responsible for the proper cataloguing of anything biological and or organic that has been identified in secured sties of the Bureau, this to properly assist the Active Research Sections in recognising that which is deemed more suspect, more fragile etc.
CO.1 are also responsible for the On Site research and containment of anything man made such as manufactured items including drugs. As such CO.1 are required to undertake routine inspections and medical tests to ensure both their safety and complicity in regards of Bureaus Directives.
When required sections of CO.1 are required to undertake some undercover work in a manner of speaking, this usually means that to ensure the secrecy of the Bureaus true operations and scope of authority. Workers of CO.1 will be required to wear the official forensic uniforms and equipment of the nation in which they are operating.
For example following a mass whale beaching in the United States, operatives of CO.1 were required to wear standard U.S Federal uniforms to ensure the safe and secret removal of a member of Species 460 that had died along with the Whales.
Due to obvious dangers and hazards brought upon through their duties which include biological material, all personnel of CO.1 are required to maintain strict safety protocols and perform thorough decontamination procedures following their exit of any site.
CO.2 [Containment 2]: "Gardeners"
Creation: 1947
Designation: On Site Research and Containment Section
Specialisation: Safe removal of affected foliage from Secured Sites
Current Head of Division: Doctor Fu Liang
Just as CO.1 are responsible for a forensic focus, CO.2 are in essence those responsible for the identification, on site research and containment of anything and everything related to plant life within secured sites.
Since any incident that is under the Bureaus directive can effect all forms of life including plants, it is required for the Bureau to conduct analysis and research of anything that is effected by the object, species, subjects and anomalies that the Bureau is required to investigate, secure and if needs be eliminate.
Once a site has been secured by the designated Response Teams and Q.R.F, then CO.2 will follow in behind the Forensic units of CO.1, upon arrival they will thoroughly scour the entire site to properly identify and categorise any plant life that could be or has been effected by the incident.
This can involve anything from blood spatter to anomalous events or actions involving the foliage, once all has been properly categorised and examined for closer examination and study at a proper facility. CO.2 will then perform a second sweep and perform the clean up, this is when CO.2 will actively remove any foliage that has been effected or damaged by the incident or Bureau Personnel.
As in the case of other Containment Sections, CO.2 sections are often required to wear the uniforms and equipment of the forensic departments of national law enforcement, in order to ensure the secrecy of the Bureaus true scope of authority and directive.
CO.3 [Containment 3]: "Techies"
Creation: 1942
Designation: On Site Research and Containment Section
Specialisation: Safe removal of all Technologies from secured sites
Current Head of Division: Professor Michael Romanova
CO.3 was initially established during Operation Birdwatcher with the focus of studying and reverse engineering technologies and devices captured by Operation Special Forces from Nazis Wonder Weapons Programs. They were one of the few Operation Birdwatcher units that remained partly active after the war ended, they were to continue the securing of wonder weapon technologies of the Nazis, they were fully reorganised following the "Rosewell Incident".
Sections of CO.3 are usually called on following the successful operations conducted by special forces when dealing with opposing organisations that the Bureau is required to "handle". The duties of CO.3 is to examine and perform forensic analysis of any and all captured computers, mobile phones and any other electronic devices secured for examination later.
They are also called on to perform sweeps and securing of secured Sites, their focus again is anything of a technological nature, this can be anything from something to small to entire UFOs if required. Since such technologies are often fragile and require careful examination and transport, it is the duty of CO.3 to also ensure the safe conduct of all secured Technologies from any secured site be it human or not.
Certain sub sections of CO.3 are also required to maintain pieces of technology that is used by the Bureau to ensure the safety and security of its personnel as well as the general public. However such Sub Sections have no active role in going to secured sites.
For security reasons, CO.3 sections may be required to enter a secured site first to properly contain technology before other personnel can enter for reasons of safety. To do so CO.3 personnel will use specialised pieces of equipment to ensure their own safety and maintain proper procedures in securing and containing.
However if there is no danger of technologies being active or under likelihood of being damaged by other personnel, then Sections of CO.3 will only be permitted to enter a secured site once the other sections have completed their work.
CO.4 [Containment 4]: "Rockies"
Creation: 1947
Designation: On Site Research and Containment Section
Specialisation: Safe Removal of all designated Geological Anomalies from Secured Sites
Current Head of Division: Robert Lake
Sections of CO.4 are responsible for the identification and extraction of any and all anomalies or contaminated by an incident, investigation, subjects, species or object.Anything of a geological nature during the containment phase of an operation is their responsibility for on site evaluation, study and safe removal. This can be anything from a single rock to the removal an entire grid section of earth, the reason is for proper examination of the secured extracts in a more suitable facility where closer examination can be conducted.
Sections of CO.4 will enter secured sites alongside CO.1 and CO.2 to ensure that nothing is missed but also to ensure that each section is not performing any action that could damage the focus of the other. However an agent of CO.1 will be on hand with the other two to ensure that anything of a forensic nature in their purview is not at risk of contamination.
Sections of CO.4 are granted permission to use a greater amount of heavy equipment in the identification and extraction of anything within their field of study. This can include large drilling systems, jackhammers, bulldozers and more, however all use of such machinery must be done under strict guidelines and under constant supervision to ensure that nothing meant for study is not damaged.
CO.5 [Containment 5]: "Chem Cleaners"
Creation: 1954
Designation: On Site Research and Containment Section
Specialisation: Safe Removal of all Chemical Hazards from Secured Sites
Current Head of Division: Doctor Alexandro Verez
A specialised section in regards of safe containment, Sections of CO.5 are focused on the safe containment and extraction of any and all chemical hazards from sites that have been investigated and secured by Bureau Response Teams.Established following the deaths of several Bureau personnel during an investigation due to injuries brought upon by hazardous chemicals. CO.5 was set up to both identify possible chemical hazards in secured sites as well as to take samples for study, but most importantly safely remove the hazard to allow other Containment sections to begin their work safely.
As such Sections of CO.5 are authorised to use both specialised equipment and closely monitored materials to assist in their duties. This equipment and material is carefully monitored and examined before use to ensure that all is in good order and suitable for the tasks expected to be used.
CO.5 units are sometimes required to remain behind following the successful containment of a site or investigation to provide assistance with Censorship Sections, this is because since CO.5 are one of the few sections allowed to handle or deal with certain chemicals for security and safety. They may be asked to perform "Chemical Cleaning" where the unit involved will use specialised chemicals to remove any signs of an incident or investigation, whether it be something visual or microscopic.
Due to obvious dangers, all personnel of CO.5 are required to go through a decontamination process which includes the removal of all clothing and equipment worn during their fulfilling of their duties as well as thorough showers and a medical check up. This is done to ensure that all personnel have not been put at risk in terms of their health from exposure to hazardous chemicals and materials.
CO.6 [Containment 6]: "Suits"
Creation: 1942 - Reformed 1947
Designation: On Site Research and Containment Section
Specialisation: Safe Removal of All Radioactive or Unknown Energy Hazards from Secured Sites
Current Head of Division: Doctor Artem Melnyk
Initially established by Operation Birdwatcher, CO.6 were selected for their experience in regards of their knowledge and experience for anything and everything to do with Atomic weaponry that both sides were investing resources into.Their mission during the war was to assist in the identification and containment of all Atomic sites used by the Nazis across Europe, following the conclusion of the war, CO.6 was reassigned to assist in the containment of all Nazis research into the Atomic bomb.
After the initial events of the "Rosewell Incident", CO.6 was re-established to assist in the containment of the site due to the danger of Radioactivity being present within the zone of the incident.
Sections of CO.6 are responsible for the identification, containment and safe removal from any site or investigation anything that is of an Atomic or Nuclear nature whether it be benign or hazardous it sits within their purview.
As such CO.6 are given some of the best equipment available to the Bureau in regards of safety, the most advanced protective equipment, radioactivity monitors, breathing apparatus etc. For reasons of obvious safety after any interaction with Atomic or Nuclear contaminated material all personnel involved are required to submit themselves to full decontamination procedures as well as Radiation level tests to ensure they are still within safe parameters.
E [Engineering]:
Sections of Engineering are specific in that they are those that are responsible for the building of various elements of the Bureau as well as their mainitence. They are also the ones that are responsible for the development
E.1 [Engineering 1]: "Builder Boys"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Engineering Section
Specialisation: Construction and Mainitence
Current Department Head: Chief Eleanor Richards
Established in 1947, E.1 was set up to build the first ever Bureau Facility in Nevada, now infamous among civilians as Area 51.
The section was later expanded to include a number of construction crews that would serve not only to construct the various facilities the Bureau has across the world but also serve as the primary mainitence crews to ensure that the facilities and outposts constructed remain in safe working order.
E.1 have under their usage a series of advanced construction technologies that allow them to build the secure facilities of the Bureau, these include advanced synthetic materials even the so called AMP suits, that enable them to work much quicker and move heavy loads more rapidly and safely.
Within E.1 is a more specialised unit that is responsible for security systems, these include everything from security cameras, automated defences to the more advanced systems that ensure the safe containment of Supernatural and Paranormal.
E.2 [Engineering 2]: "Blueprinters"
Creation: 1948
Designation: Engineering Section
Specialisation: Development
Current Department Head: Chief Delgado Seravo
E.2 was the second engineering section established by the Bureau following its founding by the United Nations, it was recognised early on that the Bureau would need its own development division rather than relying on the equipment that could be provided by member nations of the U.N.
E.2 was established to fit this role, they serve as the primary development section of all the Bureaus Technology, they would hand in hand with the Analysis sections to develop various pieces of technology and equipment to better enable the Bureau to cope with the hazards and dangers that they face on a daily basis. All the advanced technology that the Bureau has in use has all come from E.2.
Some credit must go to E.2 for the establishment of the so called Modern Age, technologies designed and built by E.2 have been gradually introduced to the rest of the world. These include satellite communications, modern cars, more advanced solar panels, microchips, even simple house hold electronics. All of it comes from E.2 following the creation of more advanced systems and technology with these and many others being released to the public as the Bureau replaces the tech they already have.
E.3 [Engineering 3]: "Factory Floor"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Engineering Section
Specialisation: Production
Current Department Head: Chief Yinn Suu
E.3 works as the Factory for the Bureau, from secure sites as well as front companies, E.3 take the various designs and blueprints from E.2 and set about actually building and making the various pieces of technology that are required.
Since they build a number of items, equipment and other materials, E.3 are permitted to use some of the Front Companies the Bureau has under their control. However strict protocols are in place to ensure security, these companies are permitted to produce items and equipment for the Bureau but only those that are not of a certain degree of classification. Those that require the usage of more advanced technologies or involve such technologies in any way, these are built within E.3 facilities that are held in Bureau Controlled Sites and bases.
I [Investigation]:
Divisions marked as I. are those sections that are focused on the identification and investigation of anything that can be considered within the Bureaus Directive, this can include anything from written records to possible sightings of that which is the Bureaus Directive, or actual sightings of anything Exterestrial, Paranormal, Supernatural or Anomalous.
As per instructions, Investigation Sections are required to ensure that any and all actions undertaken are properly authorised and maintain the Secrecy of the Bureau. All Investigation sections are required to work cooperatively either in regards of an investigation becoming the purview of another Section or the sharing of responsibilities.
I.1 [Investigation 1]: "U.F.O Hunters"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Investigative Unit
Specialisation: Investigation of Exterestrial Creatures, Entities and Anomalies
Current Division Head: Dr Samuel Rawlins
Sections of I.1 are responsible for the investigation of anything to do with Exterestrial, this can include creatures, creations, entities, anomalies to entire UFOs. Founded in 1947 following the "Rosewell Incident", I.1 quickly grew into a much more sophisticated structure, originally a single team with the goal of locating other alien life forms or space craft.I.1 now consist of dozens of sections across the world that are on the constant watch for any Exterestrial activity on planet Earth, their duties include the investigation of possible UFO sightings by civilians and authorities, investigation of possible Exterestrial sightings by civilians or authorities and investigation of any possible abduction.
To ensure the secrecy of the Bureaus operations, sections of I.1 are required to use predetermined and prepared cover stories and identities that give the impression to any non Bureau agents and operatives that those of the Investigation team are merely UFO enthusiasts and researchers.
When performing active investigations, the Units of I.1 are permitted to use more advanced technologies, however in the event that they are required to speak to witnesses directly all Bureau technologies are to be kept hidden and more outdated technologies by comparison are to be used to ensure secrecy.
In the event that an Investigation requires active military response, I.1 are required to stand down and act in an advisory capacity for the Response teams dispatched. They will also work in close conjunction with Censor Sections, identifying locations and individuals that will be required to be examined by Censor sections such as CE.1 and CE.5.
I.2 [Investigation 2]: "City Eyes"
Creation: 1949
Designation: Investigative Unit
Specialisation: Urban Investigation and Observation
Current Division Head: Agent Sato Dai
Sections of I.2 are responsible for investigations and observation that is conducted within the confines of cities and large towns.
It is their duty to ensure that proper investigations are performed in a more secretive manner within the confines of cities and large townships where there are more possible witnesses notably civilians. As such agents and operatives of I.2 are required to undergo special training to ensure that whilst on a mission they maintain set cover stories and work within special regulations to ensure security and secrecy.
Sections of I.2 are also called on to investigate the possibility of witnesses that require extensive observation to identify those that may require actions by Censor Sections of the Bureau.
Regulations of I.2 are clear, they are permitted to undertake actions such as secretive entry without a legal warrant or permission of the owner of the property however such actions still require permission of the Bureau. They are also permitted if required to perform long term surveillance of an individual, group or location as and when required, again however all investigations must be permitted by the Bureau.
I.2 have access to extensive surveillance equipment, from the most advanced wiretapping systems to the best visual observation tools. All agents of I.2 are required to have extensive training in clandestine investigative skills, such as lockpicking, the disabling of alarms, planting of electronic devices, effective tailing of individuals without knowledge, as well as training in more unorthodox skills such as parkour and pickpocketing.
I.3 [Investigation 3]: "Book Worms"
Creation: 1949
Designation: Investigative Unit
Specialisation: Investigation and Examination of Public, Classified, Hidden Documents and films.
Current Division Head: Professor Ajay Singh
Due to the situation of the Bureau being relatively young in the terms of human civilisation, there are incidents and events that can come within the Bureaus directive that occurred before the Bureau was properly founded. As such it is necessary for the Bureau to examine records and documents throughout history for any possible event, subject or objects that come within the Bureaus directive. As per the United Nations order and authority granted to the Bureau by all of the worlds governments, Sections of I.3 are granted access to every document of every classification, no record is off limits to them.
This can be from the archives of intelligence agencies to the archives of the Vatican. Operatives and Agents of I.3 are selected for their expertise in analysis of all documents and films, they are required to carefully analysis each piece of information thoroughly to ensure that nothing is missed, for one mistake can cost lives.
No document is to be ignored, newspapers from centuries ago to written journals and records of governments are examined by the agents of I.3 for any possible leads and evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, exterestrial or anomalous incidents that will require more in-depth investigation by other Bureau units.
I.4 [Investigation 4]: "Monster Hunters"
Creation: 1960
Designation: Investigative Unit
Specialisation: Investigating Possible Super Natural Creatures and Entities
Current Division Head: Dr Michelle Devreux
Due to extreme dangers brought in by investigating of certain threats that is within the Bureaus directive, certain sections of the Investigation Divisions are granted a certain level of personal defence.Sections of I.4 are such an example, they are required to perform investigations into any threats, creatures, subjects and or entities that of a Supernatural nature, hence the nick name of Monster Hunters. It is their duty to investigate, identify and locate for military units of the Bureau any super natural anomalies across the world.
Due to the dangers this entails, I.4 sections are granted special permission by the Bureau and the U.N to take with them various pieces of equipment meant for personal protection, whereas other sections may be permitted side arms which are loaded with non lethal or tranquilizer rounds. I.4 are the only Sections that are given live rounds during specially marked investigations, this as said is due to the possible threats they will face.
Such a decision was brought into effect following the investigation and identification of Subject 101 also known as D.B.C [Dangerous Beyond Comparison] in which several I.4 agents were killed by the Subject.
Agents of I.4 are selected for their survival expertise, investigative skills, weapons handling and are given extra training in regards of self defence and personal protection.
I.5 [Investigation 5]: "Ghost Hunters"
Creation: 1960
Designation: Investigative Unit
Specialisation: Investigation into Possible Paranormal Creatures and Entities
Current Head of Division: Professor Anya Kosov
Following a rapid increase in paranormal interest by the General public during the latter half of the 20th century, the Bureau of United Research and Defence deemed that for safety and secrecy a special unit was required to gain an advantage over other so called Ghost Hunters.I.5 are investigative units that are solely focused on the Paranormal, everything from ghosts, spectres, spectral anomalies are within their purview to locate, identify and investigate for the Bureau.
As such they are given highly advanced pieces of equipment that allow them a greater advantage over civilian paranormal investigators. Whereas other groups use equipment that gains some identification of Paranormal entities, the Bureaus equipment is able to properly identify, analyse and measure the energy that all Paranormal events, Subjects, entities and anomalies produce.
To ensure the secrecy of the Bureau and its true scale of operations, agents and operatives of I.5 are required to undergo training in deception and undercover. This is meant to ensure that to the eye of the Public, the investigations being conducted by the Agents are being performed by a civilian group of investigators rather than a proper organisation.
I.6 [Investigation 6]: "Hackers"
Creation: 1979
Designation: Investigation Unit
Specialisation: Electronic Investigation and Observation
Current Head of Division: Jedediah Spring
Sometimes an investigation requires electronic work, such work usually includes lines of codes that allow greater access to computer systems and networks.
Such is the purpose of I.6, unlike other investigation units and sections, I.6 are focused on a organisational level, they are often called on to hack into computers and computer servers.
Under the terms of the "Bird-Watcher" agreement that all members of the United Nations signed and uphold, the Bureau has unrestricted access to all government systems and computer servers, nothing is off limits. Even the infamous nuclear warhead systems of the Nuke holding nations, though of course the codes are still protected.
One thing this allows is for I.6 to perform a constant observation of all law enforcement and military reports to keep an eye open for any and all instances of events that may require the Bureau to perform a more thorough investigation, censorship or analysis.
They are also responsible for the authorised hacking of computer systems and servers of private individuals, organisations, industries and companies. Since the Bureau has over the years identified a number of organisations and private corporations that have involved themselves in the research of exterestrial, paranormal, supernatural and anomalous.
It is often required of I.6 to use the advanced computer systems and super computers controlled by the Bureau to perform electronic investigations. This can include the performing of hacking into the private servers or computers of various individuals or companies to identify whether or not an intervention is required. I.6 are also work with CO.3 to examine captured computers and other electronics, in the case of I.6 it is to identify other individuals, groups or locations that are connected to that piece of technology.
I.7 [Investigation 7]: "Shattered Shields"
Creation: 1963
Designation: Investigative Unit
Specialisation: Internal Security
Current Head of Division: Director Andre D'Riazzo
As in the case of all law enforcement and military forces around the world, the Bureau has its own special internal investigation division, whose purpose is to conduct investigations and observations of all Bureau personnel regardless of their position or importance.Founded following a breach of internal security where an officer of the Research Sections as well as a Operator of the Bureaus Special Forces were caught stealing non human technologies and artifacts from secure vaults and selling them to the highest bidder. Both individuals were arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility for parole for their crimes.
I.7 is divided into two distinct divisions, the Investigation branch which is made up of experienced investigators and detectives whose job is to perform actual investigation of Bureau Personnel as well as conduct routine sweeps for any internal threats along with routine Advanced Polygraph tests to ensure that all personnel are maintaining the importance of the Bureaus Directives.
The other Division is regarded as the Cloaks of Internal Affairs, these are agents and operatives that are embedded with other sections and act as undercover officers reporting back any infractions or failures to I.7 when required. Often agents of this internal section are called on to perform one or two undercover operations as they may be required to take part in Bureau held trials and act as witnesses against the Defence.
M: [Medical]
Due to the excessive dangers that nearly all Bureau personnel are expected to face in the performance of their duties, the requirement of the Bureau to have its own medical sections is clear and understandable. Due to the Advanced technologies that are held and used by the Bureau, the Medical sections have procedures that are excessively more advanced than any hospital in the world.
M.1 [Medical 1]: "Doctors"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Medical Section
Specialisation: Standard Health and Medical Care
Sections of M.1 are comprised of standard medical teams that are dispatched alongside Q.R.F and support units to provide immediate aid for any injured or wounded at an active site of the Bureau.
Their duty is not to cure or completely heal all the injured and wounded on site, but are instead handle the most basic injuries and stabilising the more critical wounded, ensuring that those with life threatening injuries are stable enough to reach a more sufficient medical facility where they can get the more advanced procedures they will require to survive and recover.
M.1 are also responsible for standard duties of Medical wings that all Bureau bases and stations have, this includes the caring of patients within the wings, maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities, maintaining the security of the pharmacies etc.
M.2 [Medical 2]: "E.R"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Medical Section
Specialisation: Emergency Health and Medical Care
Due to the excessives dangers that nearly all personnel of the Bureau face when conducting their duties, it is obvious that the Bureau would have within its own circle a specialised division comprised of the best surgeons humanity has to offer.
Whilst M.1 are responsible for basic injuries and illnesses, M.2 are those that never leave specified locations where they have access to the best equipment Bureau scientists and engineers have invented. This enables them to handle the most extreme of injuries and surgeries that they may be called on to undertake in order to save the lives of others whether they are members of the Bureau or unfortunate civilians.
M.3 [Medical 3]: "Chemic Care"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Medical Section
Specialisation: Chemical Treatment
Due to the dangers that appeared during the "Rosewell Incident" in 1947, following the foundation of the Bureau, it was decided that there would be a required division of medical specialists that could handle any injury or condition brought about any and all chemical hazards.
To support this the M.3 Surgical units have over the decades of the Bureaus existence seen a dramatic improvement in medical advancement. The work of M.3 has brought into more common practice various forms of chemical treatment for a considerable number hazardous chemicals.
M.4 [Medical 4]: "Head Shrinkers"
Creation: 1955
Designation: Medical Section
Specialisation: Psychological Care of Bureau Personnel
Following an incident where a member of the Bureau experienced a psychological breakdown, the Bureau directors and the United Nations deemed that greater care was required for the mental wellbeing of all personnel.
Though the field was relatively new, the Bureau has put considerable effort into the mental safety and health of its personnel, as such all Bureau Personnel are expected to conduct annual psychological evaluations to ensure their mental wellbeing as well as allow the Psychologists a greater opportunity to identify any individuals that may require time off active duties or in extreme cases immediate withdrawal from active service.
M.4 specialists are also often called on to maintain close observation and evaluations of all personnel that are in close connection with subjects, species, entities or anomalies that can and have effected a persons mental and psychological state such as the subjects of Supernatural Species 256 "the Kitsune" who have an ability to influence or effect the minds of humans.
M.5 [Medical 5]: "Radio Therapy"
Creation: 1955
Designation: Medical Section
Specialisation: Radiation Health and Medical Care
Following the growing dangers of Radioactive activity of the world in the performance of Nuclear tests across the globe, the Bureau deemed that there was a necessity for a specialised medical division with the focus of caring and treating those effected by Radioactivity and Radioactive hazards.
The primary service of M.5 is a support section for investigative and containment units such as CO.6, who are in constant close proximity of radioactivity that can be possibly life threatening or hazardous to Health.
M.5 remained relatively small until the events of the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster brought about by Subject 113 "The Blackbird", where upon the Bureau and Local forces required specialised medical support during the initial and long term containment of the Subject.
As such M.5 has a permanent presence within the Exclusion zone ensuring proper care and treatment of all Bureau Personnel within the zone for all Radioactive hazards and illnesses.
M.5 have in their possession equipment and technologies that allow for proper long term benefits for those suffering from health problems brought about by dangerous levels of exposure.
S: [Sections]
Since the original operation that would become the Bureau of United Research and Defence, there has been a need for elite special forces units to be under the direct command and control of the Bureau, with the express purpose of undertaking special operations to secure sites as well as capture or kill subjects, species, entities, anomalies and if required people.
Due to the dangers faced by the special forces of the Bureau, the United Nations enabled the so called "Stand Down" directive, which grants the right for all who serve in the Bureaus special forces to step down from service and even leave the Bureau outright. However the Directive does dictate that those wishing to voluntarily retire do have to undergo M.K Ultra memory alteration before returning to civilian life.
Notice: Designations of Section was only implemented following the reorganisation of the Bureaus special forces in 2001. Before this they were only given basic Division numbers and designations.
Creation: 1942
Designation: Response Team
Specialisation: Special Tactical Operations - Counter Operation Werewolf
Commanding Officer:
- Colonel William Rook - U.S Army
- Colonel Arthur Lawe - British Commandos
- Commandant Charles De'Clerk - Free French Army
- Commissar Alexander Lerov - Red Army
Dissolved 1947
Founded during the Second World War when intelligence was recognising the possible danger of the Nazis Wunderwaffre Project, the Section was the first special forces unit established under the direct command and control of the Classified Operation Birdwatcher.
Its initial goal was to perform special operations to destroy Wonder Weapon sites and facilities as well as to capture and secure, persons and technologies being used in their creation.
Omega Squadron was the first ever multi-national unit comprising of the best soldiers and agents from the allied powers of Great Britain, France, the United States and the Soviet Union. Due to the danger of the Wunderwaffre Project and the threat the weapons produced by the project created to the Allied efforts, Omega Squadron were granted special permission to work outside the standard chain of command.
During the course of the Second World War, Omega squadron were responsible for 321 successful missions against the Axis forces, however with the success came excessive casualties. Of the original 2,500 Commandos at the beginning, only 65 of the original squadron were alive by the end of the war.
Following the Final surrender, Omega Squadron were reformed to secure Wunderwaffre sites as well as to ensure the safe securing and containing of all technologies related to the project. In August 1945 they were requested by the United Nations to act as guards for the Nuremberg Trials as well as the hunting down and elimination of the more extreme elements of the Nazis known as Operation Werewolf.
Omega Squadron were officially reorganised following the "Rosewell Incident" in 1945, following the formation of the Bureau of United Research and Defence, Omega Squadron was reformed into one of several units under the Bureau.
However special respect is given to the Omega Squadron, for the sacrifice they gave to help end the Second World War, all members of the Squadron both original and replacements were volunteers and were permitted to return to their original commands at any point. [obviously none did, but special orders were given that any who broke the classified nature of the operation would be liable to life imprisonment]
S.1 [Section 1]: "E.T Boys"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Response Teams
Specialisation: Capture or Elimination of Exterestrial creatures, entities and Anomalies
Current Commanding Officer: Commander Andrew Krishnan
Founded during the Bureaus establishment, Section 1 is a division specially trained and equipped comprised of elite special forces teams. Their operations are specific to any and all dangers in regards of Exterestrial. As a response Team, Section 1 is called on to secure sites that have experienced Exterestrial activity or other instances, as well as this they are called on to perform capture or kill missions when Exterestrial have been identified on Earth.
In certain circumstances Section 1 can also be called on when a Exterestrial breach within a Bureau operations base or Station has occurred. They are also one of two military sections of the Bureau that conduct missions not on planet Earth.
To support them in this endeavour, Section 1 Teams are given equipment and technology that is specific for them in their missions. This includes specialised weapons that fire very unique ammunition types such as the H.P.A.P (High Penetration Armour Piercing) or their unique armour that provides protection from known forms of non human weapons whilst not preventing movement.
S.2 [Section 2]: "Shields"
Creation: 1949
Designation: Response Teams
Specialisation: Internal Security
Current Commanding Officer: Commander Kaito Ito
S.2 are the units of special forces that are the sole duty of ensuring the security of all the Bureau stations and outposts established across the world.
Their units are to serve as security and guards not only for the locations but also the various internal sections and wings within these stations. Some are also called on to serve the visual element of security for the Bureau across the world, so they are the security guards that are seen by the general public at the "Offices" of the Bureau in various world capitals.
However those are merely to give the impression of security, the real S.2 are given more specialised equipment as expected by Bureau operation forces. Not only in the form of powerful fire arms but also various non lethal tools such as tetrotoxin sedatives, electric prods and high powered tasers.
In the event of an attack or internal breach, then S.2 are called on to ensure proper security protocols are maintained as well as ensure that in the event of a major breach that they are unable to secure, they are to ensure the breach is quarantined until a more specialised force is brought in to execute a secure and contain operation.
For containment of subjects and entities, S.2 are also the units called on to assist when accessing the more dangerous subjects held by the Bureau. Such units however are given specific training and authorisation to perform such duties and are always carefully selected.
S.3 [Section 3]: "Black Ops"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Response Teams
Specialisation: Capture or Elimination of Hostile Groups and Organisations
Current Commanding Officer: Commander Angel Arias
Following an investigation by Bureau personnel in 1947, the paramilitary force known as the Were
Wolves, which were a force of Nazis survivors conducting asymmetric warfare in Germany against Allied Occupation, were in fact being organised and lead by survivors of the Nazis Wonder Weapons Program.
Now recognised as S.3 or the Black Ops teams, S.3 are a unit of special forces that are tasked by the Bureau to capture or eliminate groups that are hostile to the Bureau such as the Were Wolves. S.3 are given authorisation to undertaken classified operations in every country on the planet to capture or eliminate hostile groups when they are discovered as well as secure any and all technologies and materials such groups have accumulated.
Their work has been recognised by the United Nations Security Council for the secret elimination of the last Nazis Holdouts and ending the so called "Occult Wars" in 1958 which ended with the defeat of the last Were Wolf headquarters and the death of Adolf Hilter.
S.4 [Section 4]: "Monster Hunters"
Creation: 1956
Designation: Response Teams
Specialisation: Capture or Elimination of Supernatural Creatures and Entities
Current Commanding Officer: Colonel Dina Badawi
Founded following the investigation of Nazino Island in the Soviet Union, Section 4, also regarded as the Monster Hunters of the Bureau, are a tactical force that specialise in the capture and elimination of Supernatural creatures, objects and entities. They are called on when anything supernatural in nature has been identified by Bureau investigations, it is their responsibility to serve as an immediate response team that serve to secure sites that are connected to the supernatural as well as either capture or kill subjects and entities.
Due to the extreme danger that comes from performing such missions, S.4 are recognised by the Bureau for having among the most casualties during missions, both in the number of wounded and killed in action when compared to most other Response Teams.
To better assist S.4, the response teams are given specialised equipment that serve to support them in their missions, including special weapon adjustments that make it possible for them to deal significant damage to supernatural subjects and entities.
As well as this S.4 are the only response team that possess their own armoured vehicles as well as heavy weapons teams, these include not just high calibre machine guns but also high explosive rockets.
S.5 [Section 5]: "Ghostbusters"
Creation: 1960
Designation: Response Teams
Specialisation: Capture or Elimination of Paranormal Creatures, Entities, Objects and Anomalies
Current Commanding Officer: Major Batu Batbayar
Created following the first direct investigation into a paranormal entity committed by the Bureau in 1960, it was here that the Bureau Directors and the United Nations realised that the Bureau needed a special task force for the purpose of handling this phenomena. So Section 5 was established to fill the gap in the Bureaus response units, Soldiers in S.5 are carefully selected from the various special forces units that the Bureau is permitted to recruit from. The categories that must be met for such a recruit are extensive due to the psychological stress that S.5 is put under during their missions.
To better assist such missions, the Bureau has become the forefront of new technologies into the study of the Paranormal, as such S.5 possess various advanced pieces of equipment that enable them to be protected from Paranormal Energies as well as be able to locate and even see anything paranormal much clearer than the naked eye.
S.6 [Section 6]: "Burn Unit"
Creation: 1970
Designation: Response Teams
Specialisation: Crisis Response
Current Commanding Officer: Colonel Thomas Cruthers
In October of 1970, the Bureau of United Research and Defence experienced an tragic breach of security by the escape of a exceedingly dangerous subject.Though the breach was secured, it resulted in excessive loss of life, a total of 94 Bureau Personnel were killed in the Initial breach and then a further 62 Bureau special forces members during the securing of the site.
Following this, the United Nations ordered for the immediate creation of a new specialised unit that would serve as an immediate crisis response force. Section 6 is the Brain Child of that order. They serve the Bureau as an emergency response force that are only called on when there is a breach or attack upon a Bureau facility, outpost or station.
It is their job to regain control over sites that the Bureau has lost either to external threats or breaches/escapes of contained subjects, species or entities. The teams of S.6 are chosen from among the Bureaus own, candidates are carefully selected from the other response teams that the Bureau has in operation. In a sense they are comprised of the best, because they will have to face extreme dangers that may appear.
S.7 [Section 7]: "Riot Squad"
Creation: 1986
Designation: Response Team
Specialisation: Containment of Direct Witnesses
Current Commanding Officer: Colonel Borys Andrich
In 1986, the Bureau' order of secrecy was very nearly threatened, during the course of the now infamous Chernobyl disaster. When it was recognised the danger of a subject as the cause of the Disaster, the Bureau immediately intervened and hastily created a new response team, Section 7 are unlike other Response teams of the Bureau. They do not serve to react to the dangers of subjects, species, entities or objects, their duty is to prevent direct witnesses from accessing areas that the Bureau is conducting operations.
S.7s first operation was the evacuation of the city of Pripyat in order to prevent any hazard of Subject 113 being spotted properly by civilians. They then enforced the quarantine of the Exclusion zone until a proper containment could be performed.
Today they continue to serve as the so called Riot squad, reacting to ensure that non Bureau personnel are kept away from any action being undertaken by the Bureau, usually within populated areas such as towns and cities. They are also called on to perform securing of witnesses, so that Censor 5 can undertake an M.K Ultra Memory Alteration, those who have already directly witnesses things within the Bureaus directive. To perform such missions, S.7 often don the equipment of law enforcement to maintain the secrecy of the Bureaus operations.
S.8 [Section 8]: "Atomic"
Creation: 1986
Designation: Specialised Response Team
Specialisation: Containment of Radiation Hazards and Dangers
Current Commanding Officer: Commander Obi Aguta
In 1986, the Bureau' order of secrecy was very nearly threatened, during the course of the now infamous Chernobyl disaster. At the time, the Bureau lacked any form of proper special forces unit to conduct proper missions in regards of the Danger that is Radiation. So a unit was quickly put together with the best safety equipment the Bureau could find and they were immediately sent in to contain subject 113 also known as the "Blackbird". However due to the rapid creation of the Unit and the limitation of the Equipment they were issued, all 22 have suffered with extensive health problems ever since due to having to work in close proximity to the now famous Reactor number 4.
Following this, the Bureau ordered the immediate formulation of a proper unit to handle any future dangers posed by Radioactive subjects, entities and anomalies. The equipment was updated to the levels expected by Bureau Special Forces Sections, the unit is now at the fore front of Radioactive safety, their suits are fully synthetic but provide a complete level of protection to the wearer. The helmets are fitted with internal filter systems that ensure that they don't breath in any radioactive particles or other dangers.
A permanent force of Section 8 remains on standby at the Chernobyl exclusion zone ready to respond in the event of Subject 113 breaching its secure containment. This force however is constantly rotated out to ensure that the Bureaus regulations and protocols in regards of Radiation safety are maintained and that no personnel are at risk of meeting a predetermined level of exposure.
S.9 [Section 9]: "Seals"
Creation: 1972
Designation: Specialised Response Team
Specialisation: Underwater and Deep Sea Operations
Current Commanding Officer: Captain Elliot Brown
Throughout the early years of the Bureau, there were plans and even concepts for the establishment of a specialised Special Forces unit that would solely operate in underwater environments.Ideas were scrapped for a number of years as the necessity of such a force was not properly realised, this changed with the discovery of Subject 251 also known as Dakuwaqa. This discovery in 1970 turned everything around for the Bureau, they realised that they needed a force that could operate underwater and handle underwater threats.
Section 9 are specialised operatives that are selected not just from Military Forces but also deep sea divers from across the world. Those that meet the criteria for S.9 are put forward as possible candidates for recruitment by the Bureau whether in the present or possible future.
Unlike other Sections however, Section 9 does not operate with standard weapon systems, they are instead trained to use a variety of new weapons known internally as Harpex weapons. These are basically powerful harpoon like weapons that resemble firearms but use compressed air to shoot small but powerful bolts at a target.
The equipment of S.9 is also more advanced to fit with the standards expected by the Bureau, the dive gear is exceptionally more secure for the wearers and are even equipped with what the Developers call Oxygenators, a small device in the masks and air tanks the operators wear that enables them to extract oxygen from the water around them.
S.9 are also unique in that they use a clearly defined rotation system to ensure that each unit within the Section has both time serving at one of the Bureaus deep sea sites but also on land. This is done to ensure both Physical health due to the intense pressure of the deep sea but also to provide a psychological break for all operators.
S.9 are also unique in that they are one of the few Sections of the Bureau military forces that include non humans, volunteers of Species 460 (The Mermaids) are permitted to serve alongside Bureau Forces of S.9 during specific operations within certain regions that are inhabited by the Species under their Sentient Status.
Response Teams of the Bureau are never sent out onto operations alone, regardless of where they might go, Response teams are backed up with Quick Response Forces and Tactical Support units. This ensures that should a mission become too dangerous. Then the unit involved can call in for help or assistance to evacuate.
These Tactical Units also serve the Bureau in other forms such as acting as a supporting force for other areas of the Bureau, such as protecting a facility, transportation etc.
Creation: 1947
Designation: Quick Response and Support Force
Specialisation: Infantry Fighting Vehicles
Among the first of the Bureaus Tactical units, Tactical 1 was founded during the Roswell incident in New Mexico, they served as a means of maintaining close protection for the response force as well as acting as a guard unit patrolling the sites perimeter. They now serve three precise roles, on the one hand they serve as a Q.R.F and Support force for Response Teams during missions, usually in the form of heavy weapons fire, such as High Calibre machine guns, mortars, rockets etc. They also will provide transport for the Response teams during the course of the mission, dropping them off at a predetermined location before taking up their overwatch position.
The second is Escort, where T.1 use vehicles of national militaries or law enforcement to escort transportation units between sites and locations controlled by the Bureau. This means that they are to act both as a deterrent but also a close protection for the Transports, this is only done when what is being transported is something that is within the Bureaus Classified Directive and must not be seen by civilians.
The vehicles and weapons of T.1 have changed dramatically over the decades of the Bureaus existence, with new improved Infantry fighting vehicles, Armoured Personnel Carriers and Four wheel armoured vehicles replacing older models. T.O.W missiles were quickly replaced with the most advanced Fire and Forget rocket systems and more.
T.2 [Tactical 2]: "Transporters"
Creation: 1947
Designation: Specialised Unit
Specialisation: Transportation of Containment
Founded in 1947 during the Roswell incident in New Mexico, Tactical 2 was established to serve as the primary transportation unit for the Bureau when it comes to the safe transportation of captured materials, subjects, entities, species and objects. It is the purpose of T.2 to ensure that whatever the Bureau has managed to captured and contain are safely transported to a secure site. To assist with this, Tactical 2 have some of the most advanced transportation vehicles ever developed with all kinds of safety features. As well as that they have a variety of vehicles developed by the Bureaus own engineering sections, with each serving a specific role.
Some are more secure in that they are able to more securely contain the supernatural, others better suited to the Paranormal and so on. The point is that Tactical 2 is capable of properly transporting anything the Bureau requires without the risk of any danger and obviously they are always properly escorted by a unit of Tactical 1.
T.3 [Tactical 3]: "Heavies"
Creation: 1952
Designation: Quick Response and Support Force
Specialisation: Long Range Support
Following an investigation by the Bureau in 1952, which resulted in excessive loss of life by both the Response Teams and the Q.R.F support units. It was decided that a more heavy weapons support was required for the Bureau for missions and investigations. So Tactical 3 was established, they serve in the same manner as Tactical 1, in that they provide fire support for response teams, the difference is however, Tactical 3 is comprised not of armoured vehicles but of mobile artillery systems as well as mobile Missile Launchers. Their job is to provide support through the usage of various special munitions to assist Response Teams, these can include tear gas shells, smoke shells, illumination rounds and of course High Explosive and White Phosphorous shells.
They also permitted to use munitions exclusive to the Bureau, which were developed purposefully for handling that which ordinary weapons will have no effect. Such munitions specific to the Paranormal.
Tactical 3 is usually brought in when an operation or investigation is considered the categories of Extreme Danger or Extreme Unknown, where there is too much unknown in regards of the Operation to be certain of the Dangers the response team will face.
T.4 [Tactical 4]: "Aerial"
Creation: 1965
Designation: Quick Response and Support Force
Specialisation: Heli Insertion/Extraction and Air Support
Thanks to advancements in technology both by the Bureau as well as various nations, the Bureau was quick to adopt the use of Helicopter Aircraft. However it was quickly identified that whilst the Helicopter craft used by National Militaries across the world were insufficient for the purposes of the Bureau.Though designs such as the Huey, Cobra, Mii Mi-8 and the Mii Mi-24 were used by Tactical 4 during it infancy, the Bureau ordered for the development of a variety of different Helicopters of its own that would suit their purposes more clearly. Very soon with the technologies available to the Bureau Development and Researchers, the Scorpion gunship was created. A multi purpose helicopter craft that would serve both as transport but also a fire support, with a variety of weapon systems that could be refitted for all kinds of missions.
Tactical 4 now serve in a variety of forms for the Bureau, in situations that T.1 are unable to properly provide support and transportation, it is down to T.4 to fill this gap. They provide transport to the Area of Operation and stay on station to provide assistance with fire support in the form of heavy weapons and of course remain on station in the event of Medevacs or emergency evacuation should the Operation turn deadly for the Unit involved.
T.5 [Tactical 5]: "Flyboys"
Creation: 1949
Designation: Quick Response and Support Force
Specialisation: Fighter Bomber Aerial Support
After 2 years of operations, the Bureau deemed that an expansion of its military forces was required in order to properly be at the ready for any possible eventuality. Rosewell had proven to the worlds governments that there was life beyond Earth and later it was proven that alternative realities existed that required humanity to be ready. So the United Nations formally granted permission for the Bureau to expand its military capabilities to include its own Air Force. Thanks to the technologies collected from the Nazis Wonder Weapons Project and the secured Unidentified Flying Object from the Roswell incident. The Bureau has managed to build a significantly powerful Airforce.
As in the case of the later Tactical 4, T.5 as it would be later designated, initially was implemented with donated aircraft of varying classification from the primary powers, the United States, Great Britain and the Soviet Union. Though in 1951 the Bureau was able to properly establish its own facilities for the development, manufacturing and maintaining of new more advanced aircraft for service.
The duties of Tactical 5 however have not changed since its initial birth in the late 1940s to early 50s, they serve primarily as a support unit providing air support in the form of bombing and strafing runs to aid ground troops in dangerous situations. However there are other duties expected of Tactical 5 which are heavily regulated, among them is the so called "Clean Sweep" mission, where a squadron of T.5 aircraft either fighter bombers or more heavy load bombers will conduct a complete carpet bombing of an area to ensure the complete destruction of a target.
This however is as said heavily regulated and is only used in situation that the Bureau doesn't believe can be properly contained, so in order to protect the public they choose to ensure its destruction.
T.6 [Tactical 6]: "Submariners"
Creation: 1972
Designation: Quick Response and Support Force
Specialisation: Underwater Submersible Craft
In the early 1970s the Bureau of United Research and Defence realised their need for a specialised mechanised force that would be required to serve as a support unit for their underwater operations and facilities.
This is due to the identification and later capture of Subject 251, following it safe containment, the Bureau not only established a special response force but also a support unit. Tactical 6 serve a variety of different duties and roles for the Bureau across the various Oceans and Seas of the world.
1st Tactical 6 serve as a submariner force composed of various submersible craft of varying sizes all of which are to serve as a means of supporting S.9 in the performance of their duties. These submersible craft use a variety of munitions to support S.9 including a entire range of unique torpedoes, from simple explosive heads to net propulsion, which fire a large tungsten supported net after a certain distance has been travelled.
The larger of the submersibles also serve as primary transport for S.9 during their missions allowing them to not only rest up before the mission but also properly prepare their equipment in relative safety, these craft will then be used to exfil the units upon the completion of their missions and also host a dedicated medical wing within them to stabilise any wounded until they can be medevac'd to a proper facility.
Since Subject 251 and likely others that were bound to follow would require containment within an underwater facility to better allow for better quality of life for the subjects. There would also be a required force to maintain such facilities. So Tactical 6 also serve as the support units for these facilities, the submersible craft they are permitted to use are not just used for the purpose of active missions but also standard mainitence of the facilities used to house and research the subjects and species the Bureau is aware of.
For instance the T.6 Submersible Support Vehicle or "Crab" is a submarine vehicle that is specialised to perform mainitence tasks on the Facilities external sections. Deployed from both the facilities own moonpools or from larger Submersible carriers, they are built to withstand the immense pressures at the bottom of the ocean and are able to be adapted to serve a variety of functions.
Finally T.6 serve as the primary transportation system for the Bureau underwater, larger submarine craft move between the facilities as well as disguised Bureau stations that resemble oil rigs. There away from civilian eyes, the craft are able to load up on materials and supplies as well as drop off or pick up Bureau personnel during the standard rotation of the facilities, which stands at 28 days, before heading back into deeper water and onto the destination to deliver their loads.
All of which can be done easily beneath the waves so that no civilian is able to see the actual actions of the Bureau in the worlds oceans. It was even reported from one Station that a Greenpeace vessel anchored nearby to protest but never was able to identify any suspicious activity.
T.7 [Tactical 7]: "Big Brother"
Creation: 1985
Designation: Support Unit
Specialisation: Orbital Observation and Electronic Communications
During the 1980s the Bureau of United Research and Defence approached the United Nations with a new proposal, it requested for the creation of a new branch for the Bureaus operations. One that would be focused in space itself. Now for decades by this point, the Bureau had been operating and overseeing a number of satellites in orbit of the planet to maintain not only communications, but also to use as a means of surveillance and observation. Enabling them to keep a watchful eye for anything or anyone that would be within their purview of authority.
However with the rapid advancement of human technology, the Bureau felt that the danger of their true work and that of the truth behind Exterestrial, the Supernatural and the Paranormal would be at greater risk of detection by the General Public. As such they required greater ability to perform close observation and electronic communication analysis as well as censorship.
The Proposal was granted and Tactical 7 was formed, members selected and properly trained, their equipment designed and manufactured and finally the the true Space Station. Orbital 1 as it is known to the Bureau was the worlds first true Space Station for humanity, it was created to serve as a hub for all the Bureaus satellites as well the means for them to conduct actions to support Bureau operations on the planet.
Orbital 1 is directly linked in to all of the planets communications, it is linked to all military and government electronic systems as well as in modern times every form of mass media. Through these connections as well as their access to the world various civil communications, the Bureau can if required create an electronic media black out, or completely remove all images, videos or any other references to something within their authority from any social media with just a few presses of a key board.
Addendum:
In more recent years, Orbital 1 has been expanded upon to serve as a hub between Bureau operations on Earth and its outposts across the Solar System.
