Assassins Creed: Tales of the Brotherhood
Being a MAJOR fan of the Assassins Creed franchise, [to the point of permanently marking my skin with a tattoo of the emblem] I decided to let my mind wander into the fan fictional areas of my imagination.
These are tales of Assassins of my own creation placed within various areas of the timeline with some inter weaving into the Canon Lore of the series. Please do Enjoy and if you like leave a comment on whether or not you would like to see a full fledge short story from it as well as which Assassin you would like to be the Focus of it.

I know a lot will be missing since the videos are five years old, but I hope to cover the gaps. I also wish to note that a majority of the characters I have created are primarily western characters, I acknowledge my failures to be more open on regards of race, culture, creed and ethnicity, sadly I find myself more proficient with Western History.
Some are longer than others, I think I may have overstretched myself with the number of "Entries"
The Proto Assassins:
Although the Brotherhood began during the final years of the Roman Republic and the birth of the Roman Empire, there have been a number of organisations, individuals and other such parties that the Brotherhood of Assassins have regarded as their predecessors. These different groups across the world worked for the same reasons as the Assassins, individuals such as Darius and his allies that worked to defeat the Order of Ancients by assassinating King Xerxes I, or the female Assassin Iltani who poisoned Alexander the Great to either stop or slow his conquests, or Wei Yu who assassinated the first Emperor of China.
These various groups despite not being true members of the Brotherhood are regarded as predecessors of the Assassins Brotherhood for they all fought for the same cause, freewill against oppression and tyranny.
As such these different individuals are honoured by the Brotherhood for their work.
The Hidden Ones:
The official beginning of the brotherhood that would one day become the Assassins began in Egypt during the beginning years of the Reign of Cleopatra. It began with two parents seeking revenge for the death of their son, Bayek of Siwa the last of the Medjay and his wife Aya assassinated individuals that were directly responsible for the act.
It was later that they learned of the Order of Ancients and with the help of Cleopatra began to eliminate the order from Egypt finding allies along the way. After overthrowing Ptolemy, Cleopatra ended up siding with the Order to obtain the power and influence she needed to take the throne, betrayed by their primary ally, Bayek and Aya alongside their few remaining friends gathered together and formed their own group to counter the Order of Ancients.
They would eventually adopt the manner of strategic assassinations aimed at protecting the freewill of the people and took on the name of the Hidden Ones.
As the years went on the Hidden Ones went through turbulent times, first following the successful assassination of Julius Caesar, the Roman Bureau under Amunet (Formerly Aya) faced great difficulty as Rome began to fall apart into civil war. Meanwhile Bayek had similar problems later in the Sinai where the local hidden ones had been aiding a rebellion against the Romans. Despite taking several losses along the way, they were successful in weakening the Roman grip, sadly though their work had brought on retaliation, the Bureau was burned and the survivors forced to relocate.
Upon seeing the methods of the rebels where they would invoke massacres upon innocent people by the Romans to urge people to join them, Bayek had no choice but to kill the Rebel leader. It was here that the makings of the Creed would begin, since the experiences of what had occurred in Rome and now in the Sinai proved the Hidden Ones needed to be more careful, not only with their goals but also their methods, they needed to remain in the Shadows.
Over the centuries to come the Hidden Ones would begin to branch out and establish new Bureaus across the whole of Europe as well as to the east. In some places there were multiple Bureaus in great cities, others however had Bureaus scattered across nations and kingdoms, but the times of success came to an end with the collapse of the Western Roman Empire.
Many Bureaus were abandoned due to the danger they were finding themselves in, either from Barbarian tribes coming in and seizing Roman Land or by local populations that no longer trusted the Hidden Ones.
Returning to the Shadows the Hidden Ones would not make a public appearance until the time of the 1st Crusade, where a Mentor named Hassan'I'Sabbah reformed the Hidden Ones into the Assassins Brotherhood with them seizing and controlling mountain fortresses from which to train their members and operated out from.

These are the words of the Assassins Brotherhood
These are the words of the Assassin Order founded in proper by Mentor Hassan'I'Sabbah at the fortress of Alamut, although some would say that the words of the creed "Nothing is True, Everything is permitted" might seem to people that the Assassins strive for anarchy. It is far from the truth.
Similar in respect to their longstanding enemy the Knights Templar, the Assassins seek a world of peace and prosperity, however unlike the Templars who believe that such a world is only possible by force, the Assassins believe that to force such a world is negating the lessons of the path humanity must go down to reach such a "Utopia". That Humanity must above all else have the freedom to make its own choices and come to terms with the outcomes of such decisions. This is the truest explanation to date of the Creed.
For the creed is not a true doctrine but an observation, as one Mentor of the Renaissance put it.
"To say that nothing is true, is to understand that the foundations of society are fragile and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilisation.
To say that everything is permitted, is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and we must live with the consequences, whether glorious or tragic"
As such the creed is to understand that since the laws of man come from neither divinity or nature, there is no single absolute truth or moral authority. Everyone, including the Assassins must discover morality on their own terms and bare the consequences of their actions. As Altair would later say "Our Creed doesn't command us to be free, it commands us to be wise"
Alongside the motto of the assassins comes the three tenets of the Assassins Creed,
1st and foremost, stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent
2nd Hide in plain sight
3rd NEVER compromise the Brotherhood
Under its new system the Assassins earned their new name from rumours spread deliberately by the order itself, that they were users of drugs and fanatical in their belief systems to the point that they would willingly leap off a cliff to their deaths. However with their new establishment as a solid order, came difficulties, the Assassins seized castles across the middle east with the purpose of using them as primary strongholds and headquarters from which to operate out from.
However it meant that the Order became more rigid in its structure and more centralised, the Assassins became more and more isolated from the people they were meant to protect, Eschewing romantic and familial attachments in favour of blind obedience.
Under leaders like Al Mualim the Assassins even began to forget what it was they were fighting for and working towards, favouring peace over free will. It wouldn't be until Altair Ibin la Ahad that the Order began to reaffirm its position in protecting the freewill of the people.
With Altair as the Mentor of Masyaf, despite being deposed at one point by a power hungry rival, the Assassins Order began to shift from centralisation to a more spread out means of operating. Liking the idea of the Bureaus in the major cities like Damascus, Acre and Jerusalem, he began sending small parties of Assassins out from Masyaf to other parts of the world with the intention of returning to the old methods of nations having their own brotherhoods operating from secret bureaus and havens rather than large castles in the mountains.
Over the centuries that followed the Assassins rose and fall, brotherhoods were crippled such as the Italian brotherhood after the fall of Monteriggionni to the destruction of the American Brotherhood only to be rebuilt and reinvigorated against their Templar enemy. But things would drastically change in December 2000, when the Templar owned and controlled Abstergo Industries managed to embed a sleeper agent into the Assassins. When introduced to the Mentor of the brotherhood the agent killed him and then passed on all information gained to Abstergo.
With said Intelligence, the Templars were able to conduct a Global Purge of the Assassins Brotherhood, to the point that they considered the threat of the Assassins completely destroyed after successfully destroying Dozens of Assassins Communes and havens across the world killing everyone inside.
Now the Assassins are slowly rebuilding, having to take on new methods of survival, operating in small sleeper cells across the worlds in order to remain hidden from the Templars.
The Precursors:
Before the Brotherhood was well as truly established in Egypt, there were individuals and organisations that had similar goals as their "Descendants" in the belief of freedom and independent thought.
These can be dated back the rebellion ignited by Adam and Eve when they stole a piece of Eden from the ISU, "Those who came before".
Caleb:
Birthplace: Unknown
Known only through the work of the Animus, the life of Caleb was discovered through the careful examination of the DNA of his descendant a Woman called Charlotte (Charlie) Durnhill.
Caleb was born to an Isu mother and a human father, thus making him a hybrid of the two races, he was as such able to use the renowned 6th sense known as Eagle Vision to the Assassins nowadays an ability that is incredibly rare in the modern age. Caleb was similar in respect to the other various hybrids around the world at the time in that he either didn't have the neurotransmitter or he did but was inactive. This meant that the mind controlling pieces of Eden such as the Apples, had no effect on him.
When Adam and Eve instigated a rebellion among the human population who were still serving their creators, Caleb joined the rebellion aiding his fellow hybrids in the battling against the Isu. He managed to escape the city he was living in, stealing armour and weapons before doing so. For the following decade, Caleb worked as an Assassin of his time alongside others like him, being able to resist the mind control of the Pieces of Eden. Meant he could get close and kill his targets, primarily leading Isu commanders and generals.
Not much is known of what happened to Caleb as the DNA memories become difficult to work, primarily around the time of the Toba Catastrophe which brought the end of the Isu civilisation. The theory being that Caleb suffered emotional and psychological trauma following the event thus destabilising his genetic memories.
Otzi:
Birthplace: Unknown
Infamy: Preventing Followers of Caine from retrieving a Piece of Eden
Here he would ply his skills with the bow to hunt deer and mountain goats for their meat and hides which were still in great need despite the changing times. At some point in his life however, Otzi found himself in a struggle which lead to his death high up in the mountains, where his body would stay frozen in place until 1991 when he was discovered.
What is not recorded however that whilst examination of his life was done both forensically through the examination of both his body and the various items found around him. Samples of his genetic material were recovered and examined by Abstergo agents thinking that they could create a new source of income from the "Iceman's" tale.
What they discovered upon examining his genetic memories was that Otzi was indeed a warrior and hunter, who alongside a number of friends referred to as the Followers of Able had been fighting a war against another group known as the Followers of Caine. The focal point of the conflict was an artifact that Able had been murdered for by his brother Caine, an apple of Eden.
Otzi and his companions were wishing to keep the item hidden from the world fearing its power, so Otzi's constant trips up the mountain slopes wasn't just about hunting deer and goat but also to watch out for Followers of Caine. Which must have happened as Otzi was attacked and forced to flee his village along with his companions, fleeing up into the mountains where Otzi's mountain experience gave them some sanctuary but their enemies followed them.
A small fight followed and Otzi was struck by an arrow into his back as he passed the Apple to another and telling them to flee. The final memory is of his death where he observed his companions successfully repel their enemies but not before one struck him with a rock. To date it is unknown what happened to the Apple Otzi and his allies were protecting, some Assassin historians theorise that it was the same Apple that Altair would recover in the Holy Lands.
Cyrus:
Birthplace: Persia
Infamy: Preventing Expansion of Order of Ancients into Greece
Born in Persia during the height of the Achaemenid empire or more commonly referred to as the Persian Empire, Cyrus is not properly noted in the records of the empire. It is known that he served in the infamous Immortals, the elite of the elite in the Persian military, which leads to the suspicion that he was from a prestigious background. However examination of his Genetic memories is very different.
Apparently Cyrus was actually an orphan who was raised by a number of officers in the Immortals and as such was expected to join his adoptive family. Which he did, in time to witness the rebellion of Greek cities along the Aegean coast in modern day turkey, he served his King in working to quash the rebellion which at the time he believed to be uncalled for.
As the Empire was contrary to popular belief was not about conquering and enslaving populations, nations and kingdoms that had indeed been conquered were often allowed to continue their own customs and beliefs. But upon seeing the desire to be free among the people, Cyrus began to question his place, since it was his skills in assassination and infiltration that had brought about a quick and decisive victory.
He questioned the Empire in other ways too, when Athens came to the Persians for help in a conflict with their old enemy Sparta. The Empire asked only for a token of Earth and water, meaning Athens was in effect becoming a part of the Empire, but when Athens defeated the Spartans without the help of Persia they reneged their promise. Cyrus saw this as understandable as the promise of Earth and Water was made only in exchange for help, which they evidently didn't need, but he also didn't like the fact that the Persian emissary had not explained the meaning of the "Earth and Water", which he felt was dishonourable.
So when news came that Darius, the King of Persia was amassing an army to invade Athens, he knew he could not just sit back. Using the skills he had used in the past, Cyrus began to carefully and systematically assassinate through poison several commanders and generals meant for the invasion as well as sabotaging several ships thus delaying the Invasion. To ensure his work was not all in vain, he performed a prison break of a well known Greek general Miltiades who would return to Athens to aid in the repelling of the Persian invasion.
When the invasion took place, Cyrus again worked against his own countrymen, secretly meeting up with Miltiades to inform of the Persian battles plans coming in the days ahead. Which he did again after the defeat of the Persians at Marathon, he snuck away and warned the Athenians that the Persians were intending to attack Athens directly, his warning saved the city. It was around this time that he learned of the existence of a group called the Order of Ancients.
After returning to Persia, Cyrus began working to find individuals like himself to combat the growing influence of the Order of Ancients. As he reached a ripe old age, he recruited a young man who would become legendary in the Assassins, a man called Darius.
The creator of the first Hidden Blade.
Damocles:
Birthplace: Rome
Infamy: Assassinated Roman Generals who betrayed him to the Order of Ancients
The story of Damocles is one of pain and vengeance, born into an aristocratic family in the fledgling Roman Republic, he served in one of the early campaigns of the Republic against its neighbours. It was here that he showed his prowess and skill in combat and leadership leading his army into a number of victories.
However his popularity began to threaten the power of the Order of Ancients that had begun to move into Rome from the East. So they instigated a great war against a number of Rome's enemies at once thus forcing Damocles to lead his army out once again, however this time when he lead the charge into battle his Generals abandoned him. They had all either been drawn into the Orders power or been bribed with great amounts of wealth for the act of leaving Damocles to his fate.
Despite fighting bravely, Damocles was eventually overwhelmed and killed by his enemies, this is where the story diverges. According to the Legend, Damocles arrived in the Underworld where the Goddess of Revenge, Nemesis as well as the Roman God of Honour, Honos were enraged at how the honourable and brave warrior had been treated. They granted powers unto Damocles allowing him to return to the world as a vengeful spirit, a ghostly, black armoured warrior whose sole purpose was to hunt down all those that had wronged him.
One by one Damocles murdered each of the Generals that had betrayed him and then went further hunting down and killing all the people who had orchestrated his demise. It is said that when the last survivor surrendered himself to the Roman courts out of the sheer terror of Damocles coming for him, yet one morning in the most secure prison in Rome. He was found dead, his head severed from his body and on the wall written in blood was " I am Damocles".
Now obviously this is not entirely true, whilst Damocles did indeed fight he wasn't killed outright, gravely wounded a group of soldiers loyal to him retrieved his body and took him to a place where he could be healed. The group had used a shroud of Eden to heal his wounds and upon his recovery he took a series of weapons and special armour from the Vault they were hiding in and began to systematically hunt down everyone who had betrayed him.
Using a new series of skills and abilities granted to him by the Pieces of Eden he took as weapons and armour, he managed to successfully fulfil a long plan of revenge. But when he learned of the Order of Ancients he made them his primary target, by the time his Vengeance was complete the Order of Ancients presence in Rome had been utterly wiped out and would only return a century later.
Ablal:
Birthplace: Unknown
Infamy: Attempted Resistance of Roman Expansion in North Africa
Very little is known of Ablal only that his small nomadic tribe in the North African Savannah lived under the protection of the Carthaginians.
ught in blood and continuous wars with the Roman Republic, Ablal and his tribe were at the forefront, helping Hannibal in his invasion of Italy after passing over the Alpes. But Ablal himself from his genetic memories did not actually take part in this famed moment in history, he was too young at the time by his tribes standards to go to war.
But when Rome invaded Carthage itself and captured the city, Ablal took it upon himself to resist the invaders, using guerrilla style hit and run attacks he burned down farms, crops, stores anything and everything of worth to the Romans. His plan wasn't to force a battle, but to draw out the Leading Roman General Scipio Africanus, but was unsuccessful at getting him to come out of Carthage and its protective walls.
So Ablal began to target the Roman commanders scattered across the region, many of whom had been treating the local populations with brutality and scorn. Villages had been ransacked, its inhabitants forced out or enslaved, valuables looted and their homes burned, all done under the direct order of the Legionary Centurions. So these became Ablals targets, using his hunting skills, his method was to wait until nightfall when the darkness would give him some sanctuary but the light of the moon would allow him to see as he moved. He would infiltrate the camps and outposts controlled by the Roman Legions and strike whilst the leaders were asleep.
However he would be forced to stop following brutal reprisals acted on the populace by the Roman Governor all in retaliation for his actions in murdering the Legionary officers. In an effort to stem the slaughter, Ablal surrendered to the Romans and was crucified, though he was later rescued and went into hiding.
Cinra:
Birthplace: Unknown
Infamy: Destruction of Isu Ruin
A former princess of an Island Tribe in the south Pacific, Cinra was to be the ruler of a small advanced civilisation that existed a large island that now sit beneath the waves.
When she was a child however, a coup took place and she was ousted from her throne before she had even been crowned, but not wanting to lose what she had. Cinra began a fight of her own to retake what was hers, originally it was all about reclaiming her throne, but as she began to take notice of how the new king was oppressing her people she began to understand that there were more important things to fight for.
But Cinra began to notice that he had been putting a lot of effort in excavating a series of ruins on a small islet, in particular a place that the people believed to have been a palace of the Gods. Wanting to investigate, she discovered the remains of a hidden Isu Vault that held a small artifact, believing it to be a tool of the gods, she took it to make sure that the King could not get his hands on it.
Following this small victory, she launched her final move to remove the King from her throne, sadly during the attempt the Artifact activated and began to cause a series of events that produced a series of earthquakes that lead to the island beginning to sink. Though successful in riding her people of a brutal king, the civilisation was doomed.
Recognising the Danger, she rallied her people and lead them in an exodus away from the sinking Island to somewhere new where they could rebuild. From her genetic memories her people settled in Micronesia. And the Artifact that she recovered, seeing the danger of it, her final act before the Island sank and the Ruins along with it was to return it to its place so that it would go down with its home.
The Hidden Ones:
Following their establishment by the Former Husband and Wife, Bayek and Aya later Amunet, the Hidden Ones began to recruit into their ranks individuals that shared their opinions and their goals. But after the lessons of the successful assassination of Julius Caesar and the Rebellion in the Sinai, they learned to keep to the shadows and allow others to take credit for their actions.
Amsu:
Birth Place: CarthageJoining of Hidden Ones: 43 BC
Branch: Roman Bureau of the Hidden Ones - Carthage Bureau of the Hidden Ones
Infamy: Acted as head of the Roman Bureau and founder of the Carthage Bureau
Born into from a Carthaginian mother and a Roman father, Amsu was raised in both worlds, but spent much of his early life in Carthage where his father served the regional Roman governor. However things became much difficult for the family when Caesar crossed the Rubicon and civil war gripped Rome, Amsu's father supported the Pompeian faction and joined their forces.
He was later killed by Caesars forces at Pharsalus, his mother grew distant and later died, wanting vengeance for his parents death. Amsu left Carthage and travelled to Rome.
It is here that he encountered a movement of individuals that sought the same, these individuals were allies of the Hidden Ones, Marcus Brutus and Gaius Longinus whom he knew from his fathers letters of being former allies of Pompey. They in turn introduced him to Aya the Hidden One founder who would later become the Mentor Amunet, she recognising the same desire for vengeance that had driven her and Bayek in Egypt, decided to invite him into the Hidden Ones with the express desire of training him.
He would forgo his quest for revenge when Amunet and her allies assassinated Caesar in the Halls of the Roman Senate. He would become Amunets number 2 for the Roman Bureau of the Hidden Ones, aiding her in the selecting and training of recruits and sending them on missions.
When Amunet went to the Sinai to aid the Hidden Ones there when the Roman Legions under the Order of Ancients attacked their Bureau, she left Amsu in charge of the Roman Hidden Ones with the singular mission of ensuring the secrecy of the Hidden Ones from the world. Upon her return from the Sinai, he requested permission of Amunet to lead a team of Hidden Ones back to his homeland in Carthage and establish a new Bureau there, he argued that since Rome relies much on North African Grain, then surely the corruption of Greed will no doubt be oppressing the local people.
Amunet agreed and with a small group of five Hidden Ones all natives of North Africa, Amsu left from the port of Ostia and landed in Carthage a few weeks later. He decided to follow the teaching Amunet had given him as well as the need for secrecy, so he decided to hide the Hidden Ones Bureau, underground among the old sewers of Carthage. The tunnels would lead from the surface down to a series of underground rooms and chambers built by the Hidden Ones themselves with the support of a few trusted allies.
By the time of his death, Amsu's Carthaginian Hidden Ones numbered nearly 200 members in Bureaus across modern day Tunisia and Algeria.
Elia and Rona:
Birth Place: RomeJoining of Hidden Ones - 44 BC
Branch: Roman Bureau of the Hidden Ones
Infamy: Spying of the Roman Senate and Octavian, Protectors of Caesarion
Born into a prestigious Roman family, the twins Elia and Rona, (Rona being the older of the two) were always rebellious even when they were younger. Together they would often sneak out of their families villa primarily by climbing out of their bedroom and over the roof, much to the annoyance of their parents and servants.
Despite the wishes of their parents to become married women and bringing greater power and influence for their family, the twins outright refused often performing practical jokes that ensure that no Roman family would want to have their sons marry them. For them it was all fun and games, however after Caesar crossed the Rubicon and the Roman Senate fled, Rome fell into chaos and their family was caught in the middle.
Elia and Rona were able to escape to the home of an uncle in the countryside but their parents were not so lucky. Upon Caesars return their uncle introduced them to a personnel friend Marcus Brutus who seeing possible allies in turn introduced them to Amunet, who convinced them to join the Hidden Ones.
The two aided Amunet in establishing a Bureau in the heart of Rome as well as recruiting and training new Hidden Ones into the Brotherhood. Following the rise of Octavian and the later fall of Mark Antony, Amunet would assassinate Cleopatra but would accept her queens last wish for the Hidden Ones to protect her son Caeserion. Amunet would give the duty of protecting and training the son to the twins, which despite some begrudging moments the two agreed and later enjoyed finding a young free spirit in the young boy.
Rona would eventually marry to a fellow member of the Hidden Ones in Rome and the pair would adopt Caeserion as their son under an assumed name to keep him safe. Elia however would not marry choosing to use her skills to maintain a close watch on the Senate under Octavian and watch out for members of the Order of Ancients within its ranks.
It was thanks to them that the Hidden Ones of Rome were able to ensure that the Order of Ancients weren't able to manipulate Octavian after he had seized power as Emperor.

Joined Hidden Ones: 59 AD
Branch: Jerusalem Bureau of the Hidden Ones - Roman Bureau of the Hidden Ones
Infamy: Convinced Vespasian to build Coliseum over Precursor Vault
Born into a Judean family, raised according to the traditions of the Hebrew faith, Josephus was a keen eyed individual with a strong will for understanding and mindful thinking.
He first properly comes to notice during the Great Judean Revolt, otherwise known as the First Jewish-Roman War, where Jerusalem and the majority of Judea rose up against the Roman Empire and for a while managed to resist attempts by the Roman legions to crush the rebellion. Josephus was given command of Galilee by the leadership of the rebellion, he was tasked with holding back the Romans for as long as possible.
What no one really knew however is that Josephus was a member of the Hidden Ones of Jerusalem and had only accepted the task of holding Galilee at the request of the Bureaus' leader of the time. Instead of holding the region, he was to identify whom it was that was being sent against the Rebels and buy time for the Hidden Ones in Jerusalem and the rest of the region controlled by the Rebels to go into hiding.
Fears were that the rebellion was being orchestrated by the Order of Ancients and that the Roman legions coming against Judea were under its command. This proved to be wrong though when the Romans cornered him and a group of others following the taking of a fortified town by the Roman legions under Vespasian and Titus, a close friend and fellow Hidden One Niconal who was serving under Titus, convinced him to surrender and aid the Romans in ending the Rebellion.
It was Niconal that proved the Rebellion had been orchestrated by the Order of Ancients but not on the Roman Side, but on the Rebels. Recognising this, Josephus sent word to the Hidden Ones in Jerusalem in an attempt to warn them, but by the time the messenger arrived the Hidden Ones in the city had either been killed by the rebel zealots as traitors or been forced to flee the city.
He would later go to Rome and serve under Emperor Vespasian, it was during his time in Rome that whilst wandering the city he discovered a construct hidden under the city, similar to a vault he had been shown during a trip to Egypt. Understanding the danger, he would convince Emperor Vespasian to construct a giant building the Coliseum of Rome on top of it in an effort to hide the location of the site from any who would wish to enter it.
Izin:
Birth Place: Memphis

Izin was born and raised according to the old Egyptian customs, but recognised the prosperity of the land under Roman Rule, there was greater peace than before, wealth etc. Wanting to protect this he worked hard and later was recruited in the Hidden Ones of Egypt.
The time of Marcus Aurelius was a time of limited work and effort for the Hidden Ones across the Roman Empire, despite having to conduct various actions in their goals. The Hidden Ones were able to spread out and gain more recruits during these years under his rule.
This is mostly because Marcus Aurelius despite being a renowned warrior and general actually fought more wars of defence that he did offence. As well as this he was a great philosopher and writer which made him popular with some of the Hidden One leaders who had earned his trust and support albeit in a limited capacity.
However this changed when Marcus Aurelius became ill whilst on campaign along the Danube, rumours quickly spread and ended up in Rome saying that the Emperor was dead, this lead to the possibility of a power vacuum beginning. The Hidden Ones reacted swiftly identifying various leaders across the Empire who might plan moves to seize control.
However the most dangerous was in Egypt with Avidius Cassius the Governor of the province, who seeing an opportunity for greater power as well as with the secret backing of Aurelius's own wife Faustina made a bid. He gathered legions to his side until most of Egypt, Judea and Syria backed him, then however came the news that Marcus had survived, but Cassius continued his bid for power.
Recognising that the Empire was on the cusp of Civil War, Marcus approached the Hidden Ones his secret allies and asked for their help. Knowing the chaos and destruction such a civil war would unleash, they agreed and assigned Izin to assassinated the Rebel Governor.
Izin was successful and discovered evidence that Cassius and Faustania were in league with the Order of Ancients and warned the Hidden Ones nearest to Marcus of the danger. They in turn warned Marcus of his wife's betrayal and asked permission to prevent her from manipulating Rome further at first he refused but later relented when he questioned her himself.
Izin would remain a member of the Hidden Ones until his death from a sickness a Decade later.

Infamy: Killers of Commodus - Son of Marcus Aurelius
Romans through and through, Remus and Agrippina met when they were young, both coming from middle class families of certain wealth. Remus's family coming from prominent merchantmen and Agrippina coming from Tavern owners across their respective home cities. The two fell in love and eventually married. Agrippina was the first to join the Hidden Ones offering her families Tavern as a safehouse in Rome, Remus joined to support his wife and serve their shared goals.

Sadly this came to an end under his Son Commodus who acted very differently from his much respected father, Commodus was known to circumnavigate the Senate when it suited him. Making the Senate pay for extravagant games without any of their real support.
However the Roman people loved Commodus for these festivals and games that he showed off to them and for the most part they were cared for. The Hidden Ones having allies in the Senate found their hands tied, while they respected the position of the Senate the people were in no real danger from Commodus's actions and so could not truly act.
However this changed when a plot was made to assassinate Commodus by an external group that wanted to remove him from power, an organisation that hosted Commodus's own sister. The Hidden Ones wanted no part in it, but later found that after the plot was exposed, Commodus exiled and later assassinated his sister in retaliation for her role in the plot. Concerned they chose to pay closer attention,
To this end, Agrippina and Remus were selected by the Mentor of the Roman Bureau and were tasked with keeping a close eye on the Senate as well as Commodus's inner circle. This proved crucial when a grain shortage struck Rome and the people began to turn against Commodus, the pair investigated the shortage wanting to cease any violence before it grew too large. They found that one of their inner circle of the Emperor had been hoarding Grain in private warehouses to create the shortage, with the aim of making himself a hero when he released the hoarded stores.
The pair gave this information to a close ally of the Brotherhood Cassius Dio who presented it to the Emperor. Following this Commodus grew more dangerous, seeing the growing danger that Commodus was becoming, seeing himself a true sole emperor one that didn't need the Senate, the Hidden Ones grew worried. It was decided that to prevent an absolute monarch in Rome one that was clearly caring more for his own power and reputation, they would have to act.
Agrippina and Remus discovered that the Gladiatorial matches that Commodus personally entered into were rigged with the opponents of the Emperor carrying dull blades. They gave this information onto a freed Gladiator who aided them in getting into the palace, where together the three assassinated Commodus. Agrippina and Remus managed to escape but the Gladiator was unlucky and despite attempts to rescue was executed.
Agrippina and Remus stood down from the Brotherhood following this act, with Agrippina having a child a year later. But they remained members using her tavern as a safehouse and his merchant warehouse as a store for the Hidden Ones.

Infamy: Aided Hassan'I'Sabbah in founding the Assassins
Born and raised in the old city of Alexandria, Essam was born into the Hidden Ones alongside a great many others during this point in time. During his training he found a close friendship with a fellow apprentice named Hassan'I'Sabbah with the pair becoming fully fledged members of the Brotherhood around the same time.
The pair shared similar ideals during their training and grew discontent with how the Brotherhood was acting during the changing times. Hassan being the more influential with his ideals when speaking to others, Essam was more of a scholar taking detail and recording of his time in the Brotherhood. Eventually problems began to occur in the Fatimid Caliphate, the dominant power of North Africa which controlled Egypt at the time, the problem was a succession crisis that the Hidden Ones found themselves caught in the middle of.
They backed the older of two princes named Nizar, however after he was executed by his younger brother, the Hidden Ones in Egypt felt that for the safety of its members they would have to leave Egypt until things had settled. Essam and Hassan alongside a small force of fellow Hidden Ones fled east into Persia towards the Hidden Ones Stronghold of Alamut.
And it wasn't good, many Hidden One bureaus had been forced to be abandoned in order to protect its members, several had even been attacked by the Seljuk Empire. Recognising the dangers they were facing Hassan and later Essam retreated to the old Fortress of Alamut, which had been clandestinely built by the Hidden Ones generations ago. Once there he gathered together various Elders of the Brotherhood and proposed the establishment of a State of their own, instead of hiding in the shadows utterly, the Hidden Ones would become more recognisable from a distance.
Whilst they would continue their work of assassination from the shadows, they would be more known and recognised by those that ruled and governed. Many were unsure, but Essam presented his journal which detailed all that he had seen over the years of travel alongside his friend. It detailed how difficult it was for the Hidden Ones Across the world to hide properly or even train new recruits as they once did due to the hardship in maintaining their secrecy.
Hassan argued that from fortified strongholds in hard to reach places they could rebuild their strength whilst defending their brotherhood. The argument was won and Hassan became the Head of the Order of Assassins, with Essams help of course, together the two began formulating the legends surrounding their new order, they began to leak out information of a state of hardened drug induced fanatics that would wilfully leap to their deaths from the top of cliffs.
By the time of Essams death, the legend of the Hashashin had begun to spread across Persia and the Middle East.
The Assassins:
Under the new teachings and name, the Assassin Order would grow into a shadowy force that nearly all would come to fear even their hardened enemies would feel some semblance of fear when word came that the Assassins were coming for them.
Gabriel De Guis:

Infamy: Assassinated Baldwin 1st, King of Jerusalem
Born and raised in a family of lesser nobility, Gabriel first came into historical records when he took the cross alongside his two brothers. Like them he saw the Holy Crusade called on by Pope Urban as a chance both for Riches and glory but also the chance to gain entry into heaven for the deed of retaking Jerusalem.
He is noted in fighting at the Battle of Dorylaeum fighting for his liege lord, Bohemond where he was noted by his lord for successfully defeating several Saracen riders when they charged him. He appears again in other records during the Siege of Antioch where he was recorded in leading a small company of horsemen against the Saracen reinforcements that had entrapped the Crusaders after they had taken the city.
After this though very little is known in the official histories, however according to the histories of the Assassins, Gabriel by this point was beginning to question the Crusade and the sanctity in which it was conducting itself. He had witnessed the Crusaders massacre people during the siege and later learned of a even more gruesome act committed by knights upon a town not far from Antioch.
Again his questioning came forth when during the taking of Jerusalem he witnessed the Crusaders commit absolute slaughter and bordering genocide against the Saracens within the city. It is even noted that he cried when the bodies of the dead were burned in piles "as tall as houses" it was during this dark hour that he happened upon the Assassins Bureau hidden in the city. Not knowing of the Assassins at this point he allowed himself to be captivated by the people within.
The Bureau leader had taken to hiding people within the Bureau for safety from the Crusaders, when Gabriel entered people within apparently began to pray for their lives, but he merely told them to keep quiet and stay hidden until a day or so had passed. He would return a few more times bringing food and water to the people hiding inside, it isn't exactly known when he became a member of the Order.
But what is known is that when he did he took to the training with fierce determination, which only grew when he learned that Duke Godfrey who had been chosen to be the First Christian leader of Jerusalem but refused to be crowned king had died, alongside the news that Baldwin had rushed in and crowned himself King of Jerusalem. Gabriel knowing Baldwins lust for power knew that trouble would follow.
Over the years this would be proven right as Baldwin would fight numerous wars against the Saracens surrounding his Kingdom. Recognising the fact that his conquests would continue bringing unwanted destruction and atrocities upon innocents, the Assassins finally decided that Baldwin would have to go.
Gabriel answered the call for a volunteer and chose instead of a blade, but poison to ensure that the danger to the brotherhood would be far lesser. Over several months he carefully mixed a powerful poison into Baldwins food and drink making his weaker and sicker, eventually by apparent natural causes Baldwin the first King of Jerusalem died.
Gabriel would remain with the Assassins until his death in 1131.

Infamy: Founded new Brotherhood in England
Born into a small noble family, Robin grew up with a great respect for the people he would one day lord over. By the time that Richard King of England left to lead an army of English, Norman and Aquitanian on the Third Crusade, Robin had gained much love and respect among the various people in Nottinghamshire who saw him as a true noble, one who that others must take example of.
Deciding to remain in England rather than follow his King on crusade believing that the people he cared for would face great difficulty at home not in lands far away. And he was right, under the regency of Prince John oppression began to be felt upon the poor, extortionate taxes were enforced by corrupt individuals that used brutality to maintain their power.
Robin wanting to resist this, he decided to take matters into his own hands which lead to him being declared an Outlaw and lose everything, his home, lands, property etc. Fleeing into Sherwood forest he gathered a small group of people who shared the same goal of stealing from the rich in order to give to the poor. At the same time he began a close relationship with a young lady known as Marian, eventually Marian would escape to join the so called Merry Men and even marry Robin.
At some point Robin learned of a plot against King Richard and chose to go protect his sovereign without the support of his gang. Asking them to keep up the fight in Sherwood regardless of what might happen, he arrived in the Holy Land after the battle of Arsuf, he manged to protect the King with the help of the Assassin Altair. Seeing kindred spirits in one another, Altair offered Robin a place in the Assassin Order, which Robin agreed believing in the Assassin cause of Free will.
Altair would ask Robin to return to England and establish a new Brotherhood in England one that he would lead and continue the teachings of the Creed. He accepted and returned home safely to Sherwood, where with the aid of his Merry men established the first English Brotherhood of Assassins with the main camp being under the trees of Sherwood. Robin asked if the members of his outlaw gang would be willing, however most had families that they believed would be put in danger, but they would continue to fight alongside Robin just not as members of the Order. Only Marian would agree and become an Assassin following her training, with her help he was able to recruit a small group of initiates and apprentices into his new brotherhood.
With this core of members, Robin spent the remainder of his life continuing the fight he began of protecting the poor from the oppression of the powerful. He found such a battle to be in line with the duties of the Assassins, using the Outlaw tactics of ambush and infiltration to be the corner stone of his methods. He insisted therefore that all Assassins under him must learn and have skill with the bow which became the emblem of Outlaws, but when one looks at it from a certain angle the bow has a close resemblance to the Assassins Emblem.
He would secretly surrender his Robin Hood title when King Richard returned and gave him a pardon for his actions during his time away. Robin became a full noble under an alternative name with the story saying that Robin Hood had passed away, all the while he would continue his work even supporting the Barons against King John.
By the time of his death, the English Brotherhood of Assassins was well and truly built with several Bureaus scattered across the country. A number of them had been the long abandoned Bureaus used by the Hidden ones during the time of the Roman Empire.
Armand Du Montaine:

Infamy: Re-established the French Brotherhood
Armand Du Montaine was born into a minor family of Knights and was raised under the close tutelage of the Church. After undergoing his act as a Squire for another Knight, he was properly knighted and would declare his intent to go to the Holy Land to aid his Christian brethren in their struggle against the Saracens.
However then word came that Jerusalem had fallen to Saladin and the Kingdom of Jerusalem had fallen, the Pope called for a new crusade to retake the city and the hold lands for the Church, Armand was happy to join. He alongside a force of French nobles, knights and foot soldiers joined with the Crusader army and sailed for the port of Acre.
He would fight in the battle for the city and later at the battle of Arsuf during the march south to Jaffa, it was here that he encountered Altair the soon to be Mentor of the Assassins in Masyaf. Up until this point Armand had firmly believed in the cause of the Crusade, but when he learned of the atrocities and betrayl being committed by his fellow crusaders in Acre, he questioned. 
When a peace treaty was signed between the Crusaders and Saladin, Armand remained in the Holy Lands with the intent of visiting the holy sites in Jerusalem. He wanted to seek not absolution for his sins but answers as to what the point of it all was, why so many had suffered and died for he began to believe as a war without true cause. Again it was here that he encountered the Assassins who offered an alternative to the constant questioning, wanting something he could believe in Armand agreed and became an apprentice for the Brotherhood.
After the success of his training and his advancement to the rank of Assassin, he was asked by Altair about his home in France. Armand gave his knowledge to the best he could as it had now been near 4 years since he had last seen it, Altair asked his opinion of Altair. The reply was truthful, whilst Armand was impressed with the Fortress, he felt that such a location limited the Assassins and their ability to react to any problems that might occur further afield, he also noted that such a location only acted as a beacon for the enemies of the Assasins.
Altair was happy with such a reply and explained that was his opinions also, so he asked if Armand would be willing to take the Assassins back to France for good. Armand agreed and with a small team of five fellow Assassins all of them either from France, Aquitaine or Normandy journeyed by sea back to his homeland.
Upon his arrival he manged to use his influence as a Knight to obtain a small piece of property in the city of Paris, he turned the location into an in from the upper floors of which were serve as the Assassins Guild for the newly reformed French Brotherhood, this was later expanded on upon the discovery of a large cave beneath the building. Later he would focus on expanding the Order after news of the growing Mongol threat which endangered the Assassin back in the Levant.
He used the limited influence the French Brotherhood had begun to accumulate to manipulate the construction of the Chapel into one two entrances for a new Assassin Sanctuary beneath the city itself. The Cave that had been previously discovered was expanded upon and converted into a complete Assassin Stronghold entry into which could only be done with the aid of an Assassin.
By the time of his death in 1260, the French Brotherhood of Assassins was growing at a steady pace using the underground Sanctuary that had been constructed as a prime headquarters for the Brotherhood. With the original building being owned by the Assassin up to the French Revolution becoming the "Café Theatre".
Lorenzo D'napoli:

Infamy: Aided the Assassins during 4th Crusade
The Fourth Crusade to retake Jerusalem from the Saracens by the Christian Church was an absolute Disaster, from the get go. Various issues with organisation and later transport meant that the Crusader army meant to fight the heathens ended up fighting their fellow Christians in an effort to gain the money it needed to get to the Holy Land.
For one such Crusader the disillusion of the cause grew with each passing day, Lorenz first found it prideful to serve in a holy crusade since he had missed out on the last one due to ill health. But after seeing how the Holy Crusade to retake the holy city was turning into little more than a Holy Crusade of mercenary work for the highest bidder. He started to question his role in it, which only grew when the crusaders aided in taking Constantinople in order to overthrow the Byzantine Emperor.
Grateful for the aid, Altair brought Lorenz to Masyaf after an arrow pierced his side during their escape, offering something more Altair managed to convince Lorenz to join the Assassins and aid in the fight for true freedom and peace.
After his training was complete, Altair tasked Lorenz to return to his native Italy where he linked up with the Assassins already working the region. With the gold he had earned during his time on the crusade he purchased a vineyard in the south and renovated the buildings to serve as a cover for Assassin operations in southern Italy.
To better help in such a mission, Lorenz took on the role of a mercenary Knight, one which would eventually gain a reputation for his honour and chivalry. However he was later captured during a battle between Genoa and Venice, he asked the Genoese General for a warriors death, the request was accepted and rather than being executed as an enemy he was given a death deemed honourable.
The Vineyard was used by the Assassins in Italy until the establishment of Monteriggionni further North in Tuscany.

Branch: Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Rebuilding of the Chinese Brotherhood
Fierce and determined is one way to describe Liao ya Long, others would regard him as brash and foolhardy bordering on insane. Liao was only a boy when the Mongols invaded China lead by Genghis Khan, his family had lived in Beijing for generations but when word came that the Mongols were approaching his father a captain in the city guard sent him, his mother and sisters away before the siege began. They took shelter in a fortified town where his mother held great influence.
It would be many months before Liao learned of the sacking of the city and the brutality the Mongols inflicted upon its citizens. The family remained in hiding until his mother decided to appease the Khan and wilfully surrendered the town without any form of resistance, something that at the time Liao was angered over.
Liao hated the idea that the Mongols held dominion over his people and were forced to pay tithes and taxes to an brutal invader, his great wish was that one day the Chinese people would regain their sovereignty and oust the Mongols. To this wish he trained his body to the harshest standards possible to him, he practiced with every weapon he could find from the sword, the spear, the dagger to the bow and arrow, it didn't matter what kind of weapon it was he wished to be an expert in it.
Then news came that Genghis Khan was travelling, Liao saw this as an opportunity, thinking that if he killed the Khan the Mongols would break up into their different tribes again which would give China the chance it needed to return to glory once more. So he went off on his own to track down the Khan and assassinate him.
Upon finding the Khans camp he found another group of individuals wanting the same goal, these were members of the Mongol brotherhood of Assassins backed with the leader of the Levantine Assassins Altair along with his wife and son. Liao found out that he was too late, they had already successfully assassinated the Great Khan, but he also learned that already Genghis's heir was taking his place on the throne, the Mongols would not break down into tribal groups again.
But from this breaking understanding, came some hope, Altair spoke to Liao of the Assassins and their wishes for freedom for humanity, he understood Liao's wish for his peoples freedom. But told him that the people cannot be forced into freedom but guided, understanding that his wishes of a free China would not be fulfilled in his life time Liao asked if he could join the order to at least get the process started.
Altair agreed and asked if Qulan Gal of the Mongolian Assassins would give him the training needed, Qulan agreed and took Liao as an apprentice, surprising to most Liao didn't need much training in certain areas. He only required teaching in the Creed, the hidden blade, stealth and other methods of the brotherhood, after he passed his lessons. Liao decided to return to China and being re-establishing a Brotherhood in China which had been excessively depleted and weakened.
Finding the Maijinshan Grottoes a series of 200 man made caves that had served as the stronghold of the Chinese Brotherhood in the past, Liao set to work rebuilding the Order. He started by carefully recruiting and training new initiates and apprentices from his home town, where his mother and sisters still resided, with them he began passing on what he had learned from the Mongol Brotherhood as well as Altair about the Creed and the methods of the brotherhood.
However he also took in elements of his own culture, devising new tools and weapons for his brotherhood to use, his keen interest was in the application of gunpowder as a useful tool. With the help of an alchemist who had been recruited into the brotherhood began to devise new instruments such as bombs for producing smoke or poisonous gas meant for killing or paralyzing. In 1232 he received a letter from Altair asking for the recipe for Gunpowder which he required for a special invention he was working on in Alamut.
Sadly for Liao he would not see the Brotherhood rebuilt in full, he was killed by the Mongols whilst attempting to aid in the assassination of a key Mongol general.
Altansarnai:
Birth place: Unknown

Branch: Mongolian Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Operated a secret network across the Mongol Empire
Born into a Mongol tribe, Altansarnai was raised by a tribe that attempted to oppose the rise of Genghis Khan and his reforms for the Mongol people. Sadly though she witnessed the complete destruction of her tribe by supporters of Genghis Khan, she was captured and presented to the Khan as a sign of submission by his supporters. They informed the Khan that despite being young she had managed to kill four of their best warriors.
Feeling impressed Genghis Khan had her pressed into service, at first she would serve in his personal harem of concubines, but declared no man would lay a hand on her not even himself. She spent the next few years acting as a maid for the other concubines bringing food and drink whilst also cleaning during the hours of the day. In the evening however she would sneak away and yearn her frustration, by constantly striking with her fists a solid wooden post until her knuckles bled.
Altarsarnai would be present when the Assassins would successfully assassinate the Khan, upon seeing the Khans dead body, she cried upon knowing that she was now free. Thankful for the Assassins she offered her services to the Brotherhood which was accepted since she had experience as well as deep knowledge of the inner workings and members of the Mongol Court.
During her tenure as an Assassin of the Mongolian Brotherhood, Altarsarnai used her knowledge of the Mongol system to establish a special network of agents across the Empire, using the Mongols own "Postal Service" as a means of maintaining communication. She set up her base of operations in the capital where the constant coming and going of merchants, traders, messengers and travellers masked the movements of her couriers.
This network allowed her to learn nearly everything happening across the vast territories the Mongols occupied or head dominion over. It was Altarsarnai that warned the Assassins in Alamut and Masyaf that the Mongols were sending a strong force to destroy the fortresses in retaliation for their role in the Assassination of Genghis Khan.
Kage:

Branch: Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Resisting Mongol Invasions of Japan
Born a Samurai and expected to serve under the Samurai code of Honour, Kage was truly born to the name Jin Sakai. He spent his early years under the tutelage of the Lord of Tsushima after his father had died in battle, he was raised in every aspect of the Samurai way of life especially the code of Honour he would be expected to uphold.
This however came to an end when the Mongols launched their invasion of Tsushima intending on using it as their staging point for the main invasion of the main Japanese Islands. The Samurai, Jin among them attempted to resist the invasion when the Mongols first landed but were overrun and swiftly defeated, Jin was one of the few to survive.
He was rescued by survivors of the Assassins Brotherhood that had come to try and help resist the invaders, it would be a few weeks until Jin was able to stand by his own strength once again. But when he did he wanted to renew the battle the Samurai way, but the Assassins stopped him, informing him that the Samurai had lost the fight and that if he wanted to stop the Mongols their way was the only one that could ensure the people be protected. Jin agreed reluctantly and began taking lessons from the Assassins to try and aid the people being oppressed by the Mongols, he found excessively hard learning the Assassin ways of stealth and back stabbing since he was raised Samurai.
But eventually he grew to accept that the methods of the Assassins were the best way possible to regain the Island from the Mongols without putting more lives at risk. It was around this time that he learned that the Mongol invasion was cover for a Templar plot to find a piece of Eden on Tsushima, the Assassins warned him of the danger such devices hold.
So Jin now known in legend as "Yūrei" The Ghost, vowed he would find the device and ensure that it could not be used by their enemies. But when he found it, he discovered the entire Mongol invasion fleet amassing off the coast, knowing that even the Assassins could not hope to stop such a force, Jin decided to use the Piece of Eden which created a powerful storm at sea which destroyed the Mongol fleet.
After the fleet was destroyed, Jin surrendered to the Samurai Lords who were surprised at his survival and more so at his willingness to forgo his honour. Although some wanted to praise him for his efforts in combatting the Mongols none could do so since he had disgraced his Samurai Heritage, it was decided that he would be Samurai no more, his name was struck from all records and his lands forfeit.
Following this he surrendered next to the Assassins, knowing he would face critic for his use of the Piece of Eden, which he did receive but not to the extent that he had expected. Instead the Mentor offered him a full placement within the Brotherhood and asked if he would establish a permanent Bureau on Tsushima to protect its people. Jin agreed and took on the position of Master Assassin, his first mission was to take a fishing boat out to sea and send the Piece of Eden to the bottom of the sea.
Jin would remain a full member of the Brotherhood on Tsushima aiding Assassins in Japan and on the Asian mainland in resisting Mongol excursion and expansion efforts. He built his bureau in a town in southern Tsushima that he had aided in liberating from Mongol Occupation, the residents of the Town knew of Jin but never spoke a word about how a hero was now running a Ryokan in their midst.
Shia:

Infamy: Caused Fracturing of the Mongol Empire in 1294
Born a concubine into service into of the Mongol Empire, Shia had no real name, using only the nation in which she was born the Shia Empire. For years it was her duty from a young age to perform acts for the Khan as well as those that the Ruler of the Mongol Empire deemed worthy of being allowed to pleasured by the servants of his Harem.
Shia, sadly wanting to find her own path constantly attempted to escape, these varied in their success, on some attempts she was able to escape the main building of the Harem only to be captured in the streets. Other times she didn't even escape the palace of the Khan, these constant attempts of running away made those responsible for the order of the women upset and enraged, she received numerous punishments which only got worse over time.
Eventually she was struck fiercely into her throat which severely damaged her vocal cords making it impossible for her to speak a word ever again. At some point around her 18th birthday she was rescued by the Assassins of the region who offered her either a place where she could live peacefully or join their cause. She went with the Latter.
Upon the success of her training she began working for the brotherhood in the Mongol capital of Karakorum, where he knowledge of the palace, allowed the Assassins to successfully infiltrate the palace a number of times to collect information. Eventually however Shia grew frustrated that the Assassins were not doing much to help the people within the Mongol Empire, she would get this opportunity when the Assassins discovered that their long time enemy the Templars had begun to infiltrate the Mongol Empires internal power structure under its new Khan.
Wanting to ensure that the powerful Mongol horde not fall into the Templars grasp, they relented and tasked Shia to infiltrate the palace and assassinate the Mongol Khan, the hope being that without the Khan the Templars would lose their influence. And to an extent they were more successful that they intended, Shia's success in killing the Last true Khan of the Mongol Empire, the Empire began to fragment and divide internally, thus lessening the threat of the Mongol horde which was now divided into several armies that began fighting themselves.
Following this victory, Shia remained in the Assassins returning to her home in the Shia region, where she aided in the establishment of a new Assassins Bureau in the region.
14th Century: 1300 - 1400
William De Mornay:

Infamy: Aided in efforts against the Black Death
Born into the French Brotherhood during difficult time, William had no real interest at first to follow his familial ties to the Brotherhood. His greatest wish was to become a physician, following the study of Medicine that he might save lives rather than take them.
Whilst some didn't really agree with such a belief, none could question when he managed to save a fellow Assassin following a severe injury obtained during a mission. Williams' work and studying had begun to show when he managed to prevent the Assassin from losing their limb to amputation, his skill was key in holding back infection and gangrene from taking hold in the wound.
Seeing this some members of the Brotherhood decided to go out of their way and found a Physician that would be willing to take William as an Apprentice so that he could study in greater detail from someone who knew the job properly. William was grateful for such an opportunity and took it without any reservations though he did promise to return to the Brotherhood once his training was complete.
Around the time that came however Europe found itself in the grip of the now Infamous throws of the Black Death, William had been lucky as he had been travelling often. But upon his return he found his home of Orleans to be near ruin, the city had been wracked by the effects of the Black Death, untold countless had already died and many more were suffering from the plagues effects. The Brotherhood which was once strong was severely depleted from the Plagues effects, William decided to get to work first aiding those who were sick within the Brotherhood and later to all the citizens within the city.
It was during this time that he learned that the Templars had been using the Black Death to their benefit, whenever an individual who opposed them, that individual would find the plague within their household. William took on the mission asked by the Brotherhood to protect those innocents that were being selectively murdered by use of the plague, even if it meant murdering countless others in the process.
During the process of trying to help these people, William learned the identities of families that had been evacuated from the city before the plague had arrived, among them was a prominent noble that had been recently been forced to take on more responsibilities. Investigation discovered that particular noble was a high ranking Templar and the cause of the rapid growth of the Plague in the region, so William decided to take matters into his own hands. Using the excuse of checking the health of the population, he manged to gain access to the noble and in the process poisoned his food.
Upon his return to the Brotherhood, William felt depressed, for he had forgotten his wish to never kill, but the Assassins around him all reminded him that the Templar he had killed was using the plague to obtain greater power and that by killing him he had saved untold countless.
Following this act, William continued to serve as a physician but remained a full member of the Brotherhood, where he primarily served as a doctor for the members.
15th Century: 1400-1500
Robert Monroe:

Infamy: Protected King Henry V of England at Agincourt
The official history says that Robert Monroe was a simple mercenary that served in the English army during the hundred years war, specifically fighting in the Service of the infamous Henry V. However that is a slight manipulation by the Assassins, Monroe was in fact a full fledged Assassin of the Brotherhood both of England and Scotland.
He entered service of King Henry with the express goal of protecting him from harm, since Henry was well respected by the common people since he was a ruler that fought alongside them and spoke their own language not just the French of the court. His connection to the common people gave the Assassins hope that he would make a powerful ally in their fight for the freedom of the peoples, this was threatened though when an attempt was made on his life.
Believing it was the French that were behind the attempt Henry launched an invasion of France with the intent on taking the French throne. Whilst the Assassins didn't want him to go down a tyrannical path, they also knew that if Henry was to fall then England would likely fall into chaos, so James was sent to protect him on the campaign whilst the French Brotherhood attempted to convince the French crown to seek peace.
Monroe proved his worth to Henry when during the battle of Agincourt, the King was surrounded whilst trying to defend his brother. James alone charged, bashing his way through the French troops to Henry and aided the King in fighting off the French as well as helping to get the Kings brother to safety. Such an act much appreciated by Henry who during the midst of battle thanked aloud the Scottish mercenary for coming to his aid, Monroe allegedly joked telling the King that he could get him an ale when it was over.
After the battle, Monroe continued to guard the King as they returned to Calais, he even went with Henry to meet with the French King where the peace was forged. Although technically a mercenary, Henry asked of him to remain in his personal guard, Monroe accepted at the behest of the Brotherhood since this could allow him to pass on the ideals of the Assassins onto Henry V.
Godfrey of Aquitaine:

Infamy: Aided the French at the Battle of Castillon
Whilst the Assassins had originally supported the English against the French, Specifically at Agincourt, this didn't mean they supported the English claims upon France itself.
Following the execution of Joan of Arc and the inspiration she had given the French people, the Assassins began to take greater care. Godfrey had joined the Assassin following Joan of Arc's execution by the English as he had fought under her command during the Siege of Orleans where she became famous for breaking the siege.
Enraged at the treatment she received from the English as well as the betrayal of the French for trying to rescue her, Godfrey gave his allegiance to the Assassins. With the training they gave him, he alongside the French Brotherhood managed to strengthen the position of France in the war against England and aided them in regaining territory occupied by English garrisons.
Eventually Godfrey would once again find his way to the French army where during the battle of Castillon which he knew would be the one that would decide the fate of the war chose to help France in gaining its needed victory. The victory brought what the Brotherhood hoped for, it lead to the two kingdoms begin to start proper talks for a longer peace and end the constant vying for power on the continent.
Vladilous of Wallachia:
Birth place: Targoviste

Infamy: Aided in capturing and killing of Vlad the Impaler
Born into a noble Boyar family, Vladilous (Vlad to his friends) was raised in the full traditions of his native Wallachia, he was more than ready to stand alongside his father and brothers as a noble of the nation. For he respected certain aspects of the Wallachian tradition of the Boyars having the power over the Prince of the nation, thus ensuring that absolute power could never be truly gained by a singular power.
However these ideals were dashed when the Boyars ousted Prince Vlad Dracula, Vladilous knew that the prince would likely go to the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet for help which would likely lead to a brutal war for his beloved land. So he went to the Ottoman empire in the hopes of finding a peaceful solution, this was made more drastic since he father and brothers had been among those that had overthrown Dracula.
So the need for peace was even greater since he feared reprisals on his family should Dracula return with the Ottomans backing. During his time in Edirne he encountered the Assassins who hoped for the same thing, Vlad was offered a place in the brotherhood which he accepted. When he finished his training he had begun working with the Brotherhood to try and ensure peace between Wallachia and the Ottomans, which for a time was successful since Mehmet was focused on his taking of Constantinople.
But eventually he returned to his home to find that Dracula had regained his throne, what's more he didn't appear to care for the betrayal shown to him. Dracula called on the Boyars to come to his palace to celebrate Easter with a great feast, Vlads' father and Brothers went, but he couldn't due to a sickness that left him bedridden. This actually ended up saving his life as at the feast Dracula executed the Boyars that had betrayed him along with their families, on hearing the news he went to the Ottoman brotherhood for help.
He asked for their help in removing Vlad Dracula from the throne before his brutality began to covered Wallachia in blood, Ishak Pasha the Mentor of the Ottoman Brotherhood agreed, as did Mehmet the Conqueror. With the backing of the Assassins, the Ottomans marched into Wallachia and forced Dracula to abandon his kingdom to his brother Radu who was loyal to the Ottoman Throne.
Vlad remained in Wallachia establishing a Bureau in Targoviste with would work as a branch of the Ottoman Brotherhood in the new capital of Istanbul (Constantinople). He would spend much of his time working on finding the location of the renegade Dracula upon finding him, he informed Ishak Pasha and took part in the attack that successfully killed the legendary Prince.
Edward Kale:

England during the mid years of the 15th century was a chaotic time for its people, two powerful noble houses vied for the Throne of England. The House of York and the House Lancaster pulled the entire country into a series of bloody battles that very nearly turned the country apart.
Among those that backed the Tudors of House Lancaster was Edward Kale a young noble who had served in the assassins for three years before the outbreak of the conflict that would come to be the Wars of the Roses. He had joined out of hopes that with the Assassins he could stop the war before it truly started since the Assassins were backing the Lancaster's in his bid for throne whilst the Templars backed the Yorks.
For much of the years that involved the wars, Edward worked as a spy and saboteur for the Assassins and the Lancasters' passing along information he had obtained from infiltrating the encampments of the York armies or from cities they controlled. But as the conflict grew worse, the Assassins felt they had no choice and decided to be more direct with their efforts, they began to secretly assassinate the commanders among the York Armies across England.
Edward on the other hand worked with Henry Tudor in working to fight the York directly, as far as most were concerned he was serving as the head of a network of spies on behalf of the Tudors, only Henry knew the truth. At the Battle of Bosworth which would be the decider in the feud for the throne, Edward would fight alongside Henry during the battle, during which an he was wounded three times, first was by an crossbow bolt through his thigh, a hammer to his left knee and a sword strike to his face.
Following the victory, Henry would eventually with the help of the Assassins forge a peace with the House of York through marrying Elizabeth of York in 1486. Edward on the other hand was unable to properly be of any future service to the Assassins in a direct manner, since the injuries he received at Bosworth made working as an Assassin impossible. He would however be recognised by the Brotherhood for his efforts during the war and made the Leader of the Brotherhoods Guild in London, as well as this Henry Tudor now Henry VII made Edward an unofficial advisor in his court.
Edward would continue to serve as a leading member of the English Brotherhood as well as an advisor to the King until his death in 1496.
Federico Severino:
Birthplace: Naples

Branch: Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Aided Christopher Columbus's voyage and established first Assassin Bureau in the New World.
The Spanish Brotherhood found it exceedingly difficult during the time of the Spanish Inquisition, in attempting to defend an Apple of Eden hidden in Granada, the Brotherhood in Spain was nearly wiped out. But upon the safe retrieval by an Assassin, Aguilar De Nerha, Federico contacted a close friend and ally.
He took Aguilar to Christopher Columbus hoping that he would take the Apple away from the Templars, to be safe, Federico went with Columbus on his journey to ensure that nothing would happen during the voyage. He had also hoped that once out at sea Columbus would throw the Apple overboard in the depths of the Ocean for good, where no one could retrieve it.
But Columbus refused, promising that he would carry it until his death and then ensure it be buried with him. Federico constantly argued with him over such a decision, but eventually found himself distracted upon their arrival in the Caribbean. Upon their arrival and the establishment of camps on the mainland of modern day Mexico, Federico would encounter the native peoples and safely make a peaceful greeting possible.
He was invited by one small tribe on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsular to stay, following this he managed to successfully establish the first Assassins Bureau in the New World. In the ruins of an old Mayan settlement known as Tulum.
He would remain there until his death in 1501.
16th Century: 1500 - 1600
Maria De Milano:
Birth place: Milan

Branch: Italian Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Established a Guild in the Duchy of Milan
One of the early recruits taken in by Ezio Auditore, Maria de Milano had a strong hatred of the Borgia after her husband was killed by guards working for the Borgia family. Her Husband worked for a merchant guild that had run afoul with the Borgia, so they attempted to intimidate them, Maria lost her husband and their shop and was forced onto the streets.
Upon hearing that someone had attacked the Castel Sant Angelo she began to plaster the walls of the Cento District with graffiti slandering the Borgia for their tyranny. She was caught in the act by some guards but rather than running she pulled a knife on them causing a stand off, she was rescued from the dilemma by Ezio who seeing her determined will offered a place in his new Assassins Guild.
Maria agreed and began her training under Niccolo Machiavelli in the Headquarters on Tiber Island, she was among the first of Ezio's recruits. Since she grew up in and around Milan, Ezio often tasked her with heading north into the Duchy of Milan or the Republic of Venice to aid the Assassins cause. Eventually she was deemed by both Machiavelli and Ezio worthy of becoming a true member of the Brotherhood and was officially inducted into the Order.
As the fight against the Borgia took up much of Ezio's and Machiavelli's time she was asked to take charge of the training of the other recruits as well as leading them in the more dangerous missions across Europe. When the three leading Borgia Templars were all safely eliminated and Rome began to heal from the wounds that the Borgia had been inflicting its people, Maria asked permission of Ezio and Machiavelli to leave Rome and Establish a guild in Milan.
The two leading Assassins whilst uncertain since the Borgia were not truly defeated yet, reasoned that expanding the Order out would be a great aid to their cause. Since focusing their efforts in one location meant that they were more at risk of being attacked, Ezio also reasoned from his Fathers past that Milan had no real Assassin connections within the principality and believed that a Guild there would allow the Italian brotherhood to connect better with other Brotherhoods across Europe. Maria got her permission and with a pouch of Florins she left Rome and rode to Milan.
She followed the advice Ezio and Machiavelli gave her on regards of finding a location that was hidden from the public eye for its own safety. She purchased a disused building in Milan and renovated it to become an Inn, whilst it would work as a genuine Inn serving meals, drinks and renting rooms. The Guild would operate from a series of underground rooms that could be accessed from the Inn's basement.
Throughout her time as the Master Assassin of Milan, she maintained close contact with the Brotherhoods leadership in Rome as well as with other Guilds in Italy, Germany and France. She would pass away in 1537.
Cecilia:

Infamy: Aided in bringing down the Borgia Papacy
Born into difficulty, from a young age Cecilia was forced to find work that most in the modern time would find disgraceful, from the age of 15 she was forced to become a Courtesan in an effort to keep her life.
Originally she worked the streets wandering seeking out clients, but she would eventually find herself at the Rosa In Fiore (The Blooming Rose), a brothel on the banks of the Tiber. There she would continue to work her trade only now within the relative safety of a proper building that was formally recognised by the city, the only problem was that the brothel was losing money at a fast rate. Whilst the Roman guild of Courtesans was supporting the Assassins its Madam was a woman who enjoyed the flamboyant life.
Cecilia learned that she had been taking money meant for the upkeep of the Brothel and care for the girls and been using to attend parties with the cities wealthy and prestigious. When Ezio Auditore came to Rome to oust the Borgia, he found the Brothel in a sorry state and whilst he did try to help Madonna Solari the Madam of the Rosa In Fiore she was murdered by Slavers. Cecilia stayed on when Claudia Auditore sister of Ezio took over and reinvigorated the Brothel, seeing the potential of Claudia and her work ethic, Cecilia became Claudia's student on the inner workings of the business.
When Ezio made clear his intention on recruiting people to the cause of the Assassins, he went to the different Guilds to find suitable people that he felt would make fine members of the Assassins Guild. When he came to the Rosa In Fiore, Claudia recommended Cecilia and Ezio agreed, she was sent through the underground tunnels to the headquarters on Tiber Island to begin her training, but she remained within the Rosa In Fiore since Claudia and her mother Maria had discovered that Madonna Solari had been working closely with the Vatican. So she spent much of her time clandestinely working to aid the Assassins in conjunction with the information the courtesans obtained.
She worked to prevent the brother of Madonna Solari from taking over the Brothel, prevented an alliance between Cesare Borgia and the Holy Roman Empire, Spain and other nations, stopped traitorous Courtesans from leaking information to the Borgia and more.
Eventually she would be given the Rank of Assassin and made a full member of the Brotherhood, she continued to work in Rome serving as a secret protector of the Courtesans in the Rosa In Fiore. When Cesare returned to Rome, she aided Ezio in hunting him down and preventing him from gathering his allies, she was also present when Cesare was arrested by the papal armies.
Emilio Firez:
Birth place: Florence

Infamy: Aided in bringing down the Borgia Papacy - Later head of Florentine Thieves Guild
When Ezio made his intention to recruit citizens of Rome to the cause of the Assassins clear, he started by asking for the opinions of the leaders of the different Guilds. La Volpe recommended Emilia Firenz, a thief formerly from Florence who had moved to Rome during the Bonfire of the Vanities under Girolamo Savonarola.
An quick handed thief and a skill climber, Ezio agreed and felt that with some training Emilio would make a fine Assassin. La Volpe sent him to the headquarters on Tiber Island where the offer was made, wanting to make a difference Emilio agreed and began his training, after which he returned to the Thieves Guild headquarters at La Volpe Addormentta (the sleeping fox). From which he worked closely at the behest of Ezio with his fellow thieves to cleanse the underworld of Templar influence.
Emilio worked with the guild to eliminate a rival gang of thieves that were working for the Borgia calling themselves the Hundred Eyes. But when required he would go beyond Rome to cities like Vienna. Cologne, Barcelona and Lisbon to aid the Assassin guilds there in their own battles.
By the time that Cesare Borgia was forced to return, Emilio's work with the Thieves Guild had effectively wiped out the Hundred Eyes gang and become been inducted formally with the rank of Assassin in the Order. Upon the victory of the Assassins in Rome, Emilio would return to Florence and take up the position as Head of the Thieves Guild in the Republic of Florence.

A member of the Papal Guard, Wilhem Kress was born and raised in Switzerland to a devout Catholic family that moved to Rome when he was young. As soon as he could he joined the Papal Armies and fought for Pope Sixtus IV and later Pope Innocent VIII.
It wouldn't be until the election of Pope Alexander VI that some semblance of peace would return to the city, at first Wilhelm upheld his duty to the new pope as with all other members of the Papal Guard he swore himself to uphold the sanctity of the Vatican and to give his life to protect the Holy Father and the Catholic Church. Over time he began to see the misuse of powers that the Borgia family had acquired.
This was followed on by the conquests of Cesare Borgia including the sacking of Monteriggoni, Wilhelm began to question his loyalties, whilst he was still loyal to the Vatican and the Church.
His loyalty to the Pope was starting to decline, which was only made more concerning when Cesare allowed French troops to enter the Papal States to combat Italian Mercenaries. The Final straw came when the Castel Sant Angelo was attacked by an unknown individual who broke Canterina Sforza out of prison and caused an explosion within the castle walls. Recognising that the Borgia were the cause of all the problems in Rome, he felt he had no choice.
He went in search of the Assassins. When he found them he offered his allegiance to the cause of ousting the Borgia Family from the Papacy, In secret he would go to the Assassins Guild on Tiber Island to conduct his training in the ways of the Brotherhood. His primary service to the Assassins however came in the form of information, from his role in the Papal Guard he heard much in the halls of the Vatican and the Castel Sant Angelo.
So he would use the excuse of visiting the Roas In Fiore, an Assassin controlled Brothel to pass on what intelligence he had gained. As well as to use the secret tunnels beneath the city to visit the Guild, without anyone knowing. He would also be sent to Romagna in Northern Italy to pass on messages to Cesare at the request of the Pope, whilst doing that he would go off on missions on behalf of the Brotherhood.
By the time the Rodrigo Borgia had died, Wilhelm had been formally inducted into the Brotherhood and given the rank of Assassin. When the order from the new Pope came for the arrest of Cesare Borgia, it was Wilhelm that was the first to grab him. Following the Liberation of Rome by the Assassins and their allies, Wilhelm would remain a firm member of the Brotherhood continuing to operate from within the walls of the Vatican until his retirement from the Papal Guard in 1517.
He would go on to act as a trainer for new Assassin Apprentices until his death.
Capitan Jules Collard:
Birth place: Toulouse

Infamy: Aided Italian Brotherhood overthrow the Borgia Papacy
A officer in the French army loyal to King Louis XII he took part in the previous kings invasion of Italy to conquer the kingdom of Naples. He would return again when the King gifted an army to Cesare Borgia, he would serve at the siege and taking of Forli and was later dispatched with the force under the Baron De Valois.
Once near Rome, this small army of Frenchmen was tasked with aiding the maintaining of Borgia power in Rome and the Papal States. But this was soon to extend with fighting the force of Mercenaries of Bartolomeo d'Alviano who were harassing the supply lines of the Papal Armies further north, at first he believed in what he was fighting for, thinking that he was serving his King as expected of him.
He saw how the city began to fall into ruin and how both the Borgia and French soldiers treated the people, with some time he started to question his reasoning for being there. He finally had enough when he saw the Baron De Valois flog his own soldiers for a minor infraction, the decision was made in his mind, in the dead of night he snuck out of the camp and attempted to defect to the side of the Mercenaries.
Ezio offered Collard the chance to join the Assassins, Collard agreed and returned to the French camp, when questioned where he had gone, he used the excuse of visiting a brothel, the other officers believed him since they had done the same numerous times. Acting as an inside agent within the French camp, Collard began passing along information to the Mercenaries and the Assassins using the patrol routes he performed to leave coded messages at drop points.
When it came to his actual training as an Assassin, it proved more difficult since it would be excessively difficult to go off for several days without being noticed even if he was to use the excuse of going to a brothel or some other excuse.
So Collard instead would go away from the French camp for a day or so, sneaking off to an entrance to the underground tunnels and then onto the Headquarters on Tiber Island. He would train for a few hours then return the way he had come back to the camp and since he had already gained some reputation as a lover of the ladies due to his excuse of meeting his lover no one really questioned where he had been for several hours.
When the time came for the assassination of the Baron De Valois, Collard found it excessively difficult to make contact with the Assassins to warn them about the capture of Bartolomeo's wife. But following Bartolomeo's rave against the Baron at the camp gates, he was able to sneak out and meet with Ezio, the Master Assassin asked for the location of isolated French outposts that he could infiltrate and steal their armour, explaining the plan he intended to get inside. Collard liked the plan and gave all the details he could about the outposts as well as the best direction for the disguised mercenaries to come from when approaching the camp.
To make it easier on Ezio and the mercenaries, Collard took the position above the main entrance into the French Camp, when the disguised Ezio and mercenaries escorting the seemingly surrendered Bartolomeo approached. Collard gave a prearranged question, if there was no suspicion within the camp about their approach, he would ask Ezio what part of France he was from, if there was suspicion however he would make a comment about his accent. Lucky there was no suspicion and the plan went ahead with the best outcome coming forward for the Assassins.
The Baron was assassinated and the French forced to abandon their place in the Roman countryside, they pulled out of Rome entirely. Collard feigned an injury with the help of a mercenary resulting him to remain in Rome under the care of a doctor who worked for the Assassins. Now free, Collard finally finished his training and aid the Assassins more directly. He did so by leading other apprentices on missions into the Kingdom of France as far as Paris where they made contact with the Local Assassins Brotherhood.
Upon Cesare's return to Rome had like the other apprentices had achieved the Rank of Assassin, he stood with Ezio and the other assassins at challenging the Templar at the main gate into Rome. Upon the collapse of the Borgia and the Templars in Rome, Collard decided that the time had come for him to return home to France and join the Assassins there. Ezio and Machiavelli agreed and bid him good luck on his journey. When he arrived back home he made contact with the local Assassins and became full fledged member operating from his home city of Toulouse.
Ahmet:

Born into a difficult world, Ahmet was raised during turbulent times for those living in North Africa, the Muslims had been forced out of Spain whilst the Ottomans were growing in strength and power in the east. Ahmet himself was forced to flee his home of Algiers due to political turmoil between different factions within the city.
He was forced to flee finding sanctuary in Constantinople with his wife and children, it was here that he was forced to steal in an effort to feed his family and keep them safe. At some point he was captured by Byzantine supporters after he had attempted to steal gold from them, he was freed by members of the Ottoman Assassins Brotherhood, he would find himself recruited by the Assassins and swiftly rose through the ranks.
With some assistance from Italian Mentor Ezio Auditore, he was able to gain the rank of Assassin following several successful missions in the eastern part of the Mediterranean, with the promotion to such a rank, one of the Assassin Dens in the city was placed under his protection. Meaning that he was in charge of ensuring that any attempts by the Templar backed Byzantine faction to take control of the district were repelled, he very nearly botched one attempt in which the Templars nearly managed to breach the den before being driven back. Despite his belief he had failed the other Assassins deem that he did the best he could, considering the fact that the enemy had brought in a Greek fire thrower into the fight.
When word came that the Ottoman Assassins intended to lead an assault on the Templar controlled Algiers, Ahmet volunteered to lead the force personally and stay in the city to establish a new guild within the city should they succeed. The leader of the Brotherhood in the Ottoman Empire, Yusuf Tazim, agreed and tasked Ahmet with regaining the city for the Assassins.
With a force of 10 other Assassins of varying ranks, Ahmet left Constantinople aboard a ship bound for Tunis from which he would travel onto Algiers. Despite some difficulty upon their arrival, Ahmet was able to join with the local Assassins who had been hiding out for a considerable time and organised a series of assaults against the Templars in the city. By the end of the fight, the Templars had been successfully driven from the city and Ahmet began making plans for the establishment of a new Assassins Den within the city.

Born to both Aztec and Mayan heritages during height of the mighty Aztec Empire, Itotia as she was named at birth was among the first Aztecs to make contact with Europeans. In her case the Europeans she met were whilst she was visiting an ally of the Aztecs on the Yucatan Peninsular, among them was the Assassin Federico Severino. It was one of his fellow Spaniard Assassins a young man named Joaquin that gave to her the name Bella Donna, regarding her as a true beauty, even calling her to her face "A Star in the darkest night".
This name stuck with her, whenever she was with other Europeans she would use the name Bella Donna and her birth name Itotia for her own people. She did this as an act of friendship with her fellow Assassins but also because she often noticed the difficulty some of the Europeans had in trying to speak her true name.
Although being a supporter of her people, she was somewhat against the Empires beliefs in human sacrifice, though she never mentioned it publicly. He opinion was that if the Gods required human blood to sustain the continuation of life then what was sustaining it before the belief of sacrifices began.
She eventually found herself joining the Assassin Brotherhood before her return to Tenochtitlan, where she intended to begin the establishment of a Brotherhood within the Aztec Empire and its Allies. She found it excessively difficult to recruit citizens of the Aztec people for the cause of the Assassins as many agreed with the workings of the Empire and strong religious acts of human sacrifice for their gods.
So she was forced to find her first few recruits to be from neighbouring tribes that didn't agree with the Aztecs or were sworn enemies. By the time that Hernan Cortez arrived with his army, she had barely four Assassins working under her, only one of which was a true Aztec, a member of the Jaguar Warriors. At first she intended to maintain a close watch on the Spaniards whilst they were within the city, but she soon received word from Tulum that the Europeans were Conquistadors and were seeking wealth not peace.
Knowing that the Spaniards would have powerful weapons as well as a Religious zealotry that rivalled even her own people. Bella Donna knew full well that conflict was likely to erupt very soon, she decided to withdraw her assassins from the city for their own safety, this actually ended up saving her and the other Assassins from the fighting that would erupt inside the city when the Spanish discovered the practice of sacrifice as well as the hoards of Gold within the city. When word came that the Spanish were holding Montezuma the ruler of the Empire hostage, Bella Donna decided to act.
She ordered the most capable of her Assassins, Ocelotl to attempt to rescue the Emperor, but this proved fruitless as many in the city no longer believed Montezuma worthy of ruling the Empire and he was later killed. Recognising the chaos that was to unfold she decided that the best outcome was to try and get the Spanish out of the city, so secretly she aided Spanish Assassin Diego Montero who was among the Spanish within the city, to organise an escape.
The escape failed however with the Spaniards losing the gold that they intended to give to their own King, knowing they could not return without something to give to the King. Cortes rallied an army of Native allies and launched a siege of the city. Bella Donna reacted again working with Diego Montero again to use a fleet of small boats to evacuate people from the city each night.
By the end of it all, Bella Donna could only watch as the city she was born and raised in was destroyed building by building by the Spanish in their desperate search for Gold and riches. She and her Brotherhood of Assassins retreated in the jungles where they re-established themselves in an abandoned mountain village, she then sent word to Tulum asking for assistance from the Caribbean Brotherhood.
The call was answered, with Joaquin of the Tulum Bureau along with a group of 12 Mayan and Spanish Assassins coming to reinforce their brethren. With their help Bella Donna was able to rebuild her Brotherhood into their new headquarters and began the long process of recruiting new members, which were now much easier with the fall of Tenochtitlan.
A year after the fall of Tenochtitlan, Bella Donna would actually begin a romantic relationship with the Spaniard known as Joaquin and the two would eventually get married according to both Christian and Native customs.
Diego Montero:

Diego Montero was one of a number of Assassins that were sent to the New World in an effort of countering the position of the Templars.
Diego himself was a member of the Spanish brotherhood of Assassins having joined after watching a number of his friends and neighbours be put to death by the Inquisition. The only crimes these people had was that they were not Christian, the majority being Jews and Muslims, others were killed due to the paranoia that followed such times.
Wanting to help protect people and knowing that there were eyes on him in Spain, he alongside Assassins from across Europe went on ships bound for the new world. Diego found himself serving in a contingent of Spanish soldiers under the command of Hernan Cortes, officially he was there seeking his fortune in the so called gold rich lands beyond the seas. When in truth he was actually going there to link up with the Assassins Bureau in Tulum and perhaps expand further inland.
Upon their arrival however they landed further north and came into contact with adversaries of the Aztec Empire, a small fight ensued but the Spanish were able to defeat their opponents and gain their loyalty. After that they marched on to find Tenochtitlan the capital city of the Aztecs, they were greeted warmly and Diego was surprised to see Cortes return the generosity towards the Aztec ruler. But then he was told to wander the city and find out what he could about the people and what the strength of their military was.
During which he was walking through what he only assumed was a market, when he spotted something similar on the wall next a doorway. To him it resembled the emblem of the Assassins, only it was two serpent like creatures forming something similar, entering the building he found it empty but discovered a false wall.
As soon as he entered through the false wall however he found himself in the grips of a strong warrior and the sharp volcanic glass of a Aztec War club against his throat. He was dragged before an Aztec woman who spoke to him in broken Spanish, she questioned why he had entered their sanctum, he tried to explain but they didn't believe him until he showed his ring, which had the emblem of the Assassins upon it. The warrior let him go and apologised, whilst the woman introduced herself as Bella Donna head of the Aztec Brotherhood.
The two worked closely together in trying to prevent bloodshed within the city between the Aztecs and the Spanish, but this proved hopeless when the Spaniards discovered what the Aztecs used the temples for. Diego aided Bella Donna and her Assassins in escaping from the city and later attempted to help his fellow Spaniards in escaping the city in the dead of night.
But when the Spaniards lost the gold they intended to give to the King, Diego knew they would return with a stronger force and pillage the city for its wealth. He sent word through a fellow Assassin to Bella Donna and warned her of what was to come, during the Siege he aided the Aztec Brotherhood in the secreting of people out of the city on small river boats in the dead of night.
Diego however would be deeply regretful during his time in Mexico however, since he had actively taken part in the battle for the city, using his arquebus to lethal effectiveness. He genuinely felt that he had dishonoured himself as a member of the Assassin Brotherhood and in aiding the conquest of Tenochtitlan had violated the first tenet of the creed, "Stay your blade from the flesh of the Innocent". So once the fighting was over, he sought out the Aztec Assassin Ocelotl and asked for him to give an honourable death.
Whilst not wanting to kill a fellow Assassin especially one that had helped save many lives, Ocelotl agreed and gave Diego a warriors death.

Infamy: Attempted resistance against Spanish Conquest
A proud and capable warrior of the renowned Jaguar warrior Caste, throughout his life as a member of the Jaguar warriors, Ocelotl had the singular purpose of going out and bringing back captives to perform the ritual of human sacrifice.
At first Ocelotl was more than willing to perform this task, but as the years went on he began finding it more and more difficult to find viable places in which to raid for those captives. It was becoming to the point that he and the other Jaguar warriors were having to go further and further afield to find places that would give them the numbers that were often expected of them.
This was why he began to question the action of the Empire in constantly having to go to war in order find these captives. He realised that sooner or later either the Tribes around the empire would vanish or in his mind more likely form a grand alliance against the Empire. It was around this time that he encountered Bella Donna, Itotia to the Aztecs, the two became friends and eventually Itotia was able to convince Ocelotl to join her Brotherhood of Assassins, where his skills in fighting would be of great help in the training of new recruits.
During the battles for Tenochtitlan, Ocelotl would stand with his fellow warriors in driving out the Spanish from the city. But when he learned that they had lost their gold, he knew they would be back, with Itotia's permission he aided in the preparation's for the cities defence. However at the same time he located those that wished only to escape the fighting, mostly families that had no wish to fight, from within the city he worked to identify the best places for the river boats to come into the city for the refugees to escape.
He alone was the last to board the final boat out of the city just as the Spanish breached the final stronghold of resistance within Tenochtitlan. Once back with the Brotherhood he began working to find fresh recruits for the Assassins, wanting to prevent what was happening in Tenochtitlan from happening else where. It was around this time that he meet up with Spanish Assassin Diego Montero who asked of the Jaguar warrior for an honourable death, being a warrior himself and understanding the conflict within his fellow Assassin, Ocelotl accepted gave Diego the death he seeked.
Following this from the hidden village in the mountains that served as the Aztec Brotherhoods Headquarters, Ocelotl when not training recruits or aiding Itotia in the running of the Brotherhood. He lead a small band of warriors most of them Jaguar warriors in a guerrilla war against the Spanish conquistadors in the territories of what is now Mexico.

Charles Berringer was not the best candidate for a placement in the Assassins brotherhood, he was a bit of a show boat and enjoyed the wealth his family held in England.
In fact if it had not been for the ruthlessness that Mary I Queen of England had shown in her attempts at stamping out the Protestant faith in England. Charles would have likely not even had a reason to join the Brotherhood, although he himself was a Catholic, he had to some merits support for the Protestant idealism. He found it somewhat concerning at times that although the Church often preached many points, such as how they had given up their personal possessions on this earth in service of God, the Catholic Church owned a great deal of land and considerable wealth.
But as stated he was a Catholic himself so wished to be respectful, he always attended mass, often took part in Confession, to the point that the Priest would often sigh when he entered the confessional. It wouldn't be until the execution of the former archbishop of Canterbury by having him and two others burned at the stake like Heretics, he began to question his faith.
He was found by the Assassins in an Inn trying to drown his sorrows and remove the image of three burning men from his mind. The Assassins managed to convince him to join their cause and work with them to try and end the persecution of the innocent in England. After his training was completed he began to work within the halls of power, since he was raised and known to be a Catholic he was able to infiltrate the Royal Palace and identify the leading advisors that were pushing for the persecution of the innocent.
Then news came that Mary I had passed away and that her sister Elizabeth was to be queen, but there were a number of individuals who wished for someone else. Upon learning of a conspiracy against the Queen, the Assassins not wanting the same blood shed of the past, had Charles begin investigating with the help of Francis Walsingham he was able to identify the primary leader of the conspiracy to be the Lord of Norfolk.
Charles managed to find the evidence and presented it to Walsingham and at his behest ensured that Norfolk received the evidence and signed it thus making it irrefutable. Following this victory Charles remained in service of the Assassins working with allies like Francis Walsingham in protecting England and its subjects.
17th Century: 1600 - 1699

Infamy: Aided Tokugawa Ieyasu
Japan during the 16th Century was a exceedingly hard era for the Assassins, the constant warring between the various Clans all of them vying for power meant that often the safe havens and hideaways that the Assassins operated from were caught in the middle and destroyed. This often meant that the majority of the Assassins in Japan were almost always on the move never staying in one place to avoid being caught among the warring clans.
Hira was one such Assassin, whilst she came a Samurai family she herself was a was unable to follow the tradition being a woman, she was eventually disavowed and disowned for an act that was deemed dishonourable to the family. She found her way to the Assassins who gave her a new purpose to live for, she turned from a Rogue woman to an expert Ninja, using stealth, cunning, infiltration, free running and other similar skills to eliminate the most dangerous of enemies.
But then came the civil war between east and west, in the west was the Ishida and in the east was the Tokugawa. Japan was now firmly broken in two over which side would be the dominant and which family would rule all of Japan as its Shogun. Hira and the Assassins moved in favour of the Tokugawa clan which through its long past had been allies of the Assassins Brotherhood with their lands hosting one of the few Assassin Sanctuaries left across the Island of Japan.
Hira was chosen as the primary agent between the two, she would fight alongside Tokugawa Ieyasu throughout his campaign against the western faction of Clans that supported Ishida Mitsunari. This came to a head at the battle of Sekigahara, renowned as the largest gathering of Samurai in Japanese history, there Hira fought side by side with the Samurai the Tokugawa. Thanks to the information of the Assassins Ieyasu learned that the second army on the flank which sat upon an important hill was being lead by Kobayakawa Hideaki.
And Hideaki was questioning his decision backing the Ishida, Ieyasu would surprise everyone by forcing the younger man to make his decision. In the end the Tokugawa won the battle and with its victory the war was all but won, Hira would be thanked personally by Ieyasu for the information provided by the Brotherhood as well as for her bravery on the battlefield. In gratitude Ieyasu promised that once in power he would grant the Assassins a place for them to build a proper headquarters where they could train and recuperate.

Richard Denore was a man of different places, whilst he was born in London, he often travelled along with other family members to different parts of the country. By the time he was old enough to fight himself, he had spent much time in Ireland, Scotland and the different counties of England.
His older brother was a member of the British Brotherhood of Assassins and Richard was being groomed to become a member himself. However he was more interested in becoming a member of Parliament, which he succeeded at in 1628, he believed that through Parliament he could do the most good. however in 1629 Charles I dissolved Parliament completely with the intent of ruling alone. It was here that Richard finally properly joined his Brother in the Assassin Order and became a full member in 1635, he worked with the brotherhood to try and stem the corruption within the Kings Court as well as try and prevent any violence from occurring across the country.
But then word came from the Brotherhood in Scotland warning that the Scottish nobility had chosen to rise in rebellion against Charles. When the rebellion truly took place, Charles was forced to call on Parliament for the funds he needed to quash the Scottish rebels, Richard having some experience in Parliament returned as a member where he encountered an old friend Oliver Cromwell.
Together the two attempted various reforms to strengthen the position of Parliament in the governing of England, however over time it became clear that no compromise could be found. Eventually whilst attending a meeting of the Commons Richard received word that the King was coming to arrest several members of the House on a charge of treason. Reacting swiftly he warned those named and aided in their escape, it became clear to him by this point that neither side was willing to back down and would likely result in a civil war.
Richard and the Assassins sided with the Parliamentarians with Richard taking an officers position among the Dragoons and Cavalry. But as the war dragged on he began to feel that Parliament was not taking the conflict serious enough to bring about its much needed end, in 1644 Richard in an act of determination as well as a means of protest stood down from Parliament.
He would however remain an advisor during the winter helping to push for the creation of the so called New Model Army, he aided with the training of the troops instiling the same discipline he had learned in the Assassins. The New Model army was to be the countries first ever national army, no longer would Parliament rely on the local militias organised into a collective force. He also backed the Self Denying Ordinance which demanded that any member of the Commons or the Lords could not hold a military command, in essence leadership was now about ability not class.
Richard would later serve among the Cavalry at the deciding battle of Naseby where he commanded the Dragoons that fired the first shots of the battle and later lead an impromptu cavalry charge in support of the infantry. He would be recognised by the leaders of the army for his bravery and given the promotion to Lieutenant colonel, he would continue to fight for Parliament in the conflicts following Parliaments victory but stumbled in his loyalties when the King was charged with treason and sentenced to death. Fearing the dangerous possibilities such an act could bring, he openly attempted to get the sentenced repealed and the King placed under house arrest where he could live quietly.
Following the execution, Richard kept his head down not wanting to draw to many eyes his direction, but as he began to see his old Friend Oliver Cromwell become more and more akin to a tyranical dictator in his goals for the country. Richard felt he had no choice and with the aid of the Brotherhood began to work with individuals across England and Scotland who worked for the restoration of the monarchy.
In 1660 Richard along with a team of 9 other Assassins supported by a contingent of soldiers were dispatched to mainland Europe to provide an escort to Charles II who was being invited to return to England as its King.
18th Century: 1700 - 1799
Obi:
Birthplace: Unknown
Joining of Assassin: 1700
Branch: West African Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Aided attempts to disrupt the Enslavement of Africans
No one knows exactly where Obi was born or of which of the countless West African Tribes or cultures that were the most commonly targeted during the decades of the Slave trade.
Another was a series of scratches across the left side of his face, these were made by a series of thorns on a branch that struck his face during his flight. He fell into a river which carried him to safety, when the water brought him to the shore, he was rescued by members of the Assassins. Wanting to find his people including his family, Obi asked for their help in exchange for his loyalty to the Order, the Assassin agreed and went to try help the people being taken away.
But upon their arrival the village was burning and the slavers had moved on, Obi still wanting to find his people knew that the Assassins were his best chance and upheld his promise. He would join the Assassins and upon the success of his training, he began working to aid his fellow Africans, he would under the permission of the Assassins established a small band of fighters that would use Guerrilla Warfare to resist the attempts of the Slavers in West Africa whether they be European or Africans.
It wouldn't be until 1737 that Obi learned that his family had been sold into slavery and taken to the new world where they were made to work Plantations in Saint Domingue the French Colony on Hispaniola. Although he never learnt the full details, it is recorded in the Assassins that he was happy upon learning that some of his family were living free with the Maroons.
What happened to Obi is unknown, not even the records of the Assassins have a clear answer, all that is known that he disappeared one day and never returned.
James Lee Rookwood:
Birthplace: Kingston Jamaica

Infamy: Aided Maroon rebels and pushed for the First Peace Treaty
Born and raised into a wealthy family in Jamaica, the Rookwood were the proud owners of many properties, they owned two rich plantations, Several warehouses of varying sizes and a prosperous farm. Yet their wealth was built upon the backs of the slave trade, the family owned nearly 400 slaves across their different holdings, their wealth and prestige relied upon it.
James Lee Rookwood on the other hand witness the plight of the Slaves, he often wrote in his private journals about how he felt sorry for them and how he wished he had the power to help them. He began secretly supporting the small group of Abolitionists, but one night he was awoken by strange sounds outside. When he went to investigate he was shocked too see a group of slaves from the estate being escorted away by a small band of Maroons. The Maroons expected him to raise the alarm but instead he pointed out the fact that there was Redcoat soldiers nearby and told them go in a different direction to avoid being spotted.
He was later recruited by the Assassin Anto who ran the Kingston bureau of the Caribbean Assassins, to provide better help to the Assassins wish of helping the Maroon rebels in the mountains of the Interior. James joined the British Army and with his family connections gained a commission, with the rank of Commander he was able to provide information to the Assassins from within the ranks of the military as well as aid the Maroon rebels resist attempts to find and fight pitched battles with them.
Eventually Rookwood began to notice a growing resentment for the conflict between the British Authorities in Jamaica and the Maroons. So he began to openly push for his superiors to at least begin diplomatic talks with the Maroons to end the fighting, he offered his services to negotiate since he had experience with the Maroons fighting method. They agreed and with some assistance from Anto, Rookwood was able to convince the Maroon leader as well as the British to come to the table and finally agree on a peace between them.
Rookwood would remain a member of the Assassins until his death, working to try and maintain the peace between the Maroon and the Authorities.
Duncan Campbell:
Birth place: Scottish Highlands
Joining of Assassins: 1734
Branch: British Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Supported Redcoats against Jacobite uprising
Born into a notable Scottish Highland Clan, the Infamous Campbells, Duncan was technically not an actual Campbell but a Cousin of the actual family that gave the clan its name. At the time the Campbells were firm but cautious supporters of the British Crown and had proven such loyalty for the Government when they aided Government forces against Jacobite Uprisings across Britain.
Duncan was one such soldier when he was recruited into the Assassins Cause, he was tasked with keeping an eye on the different Highland Clans and report back any possible Templar interference with the tenuous peace. He would report in 1745 that with some backing from the King of France and likely Templar agents, the so called Bonnie Prince Charlie had landed in Scotland and was rallying Scottish Highlander to his cause of reclaiming the British Throne for the Stuart dynasty.
The Assassins with Duncans help were able to ensure that not too many of the Clans backed the rebellion and would later aid Government forces in other parts of Scotland maintain themselves when the Scots bested the Government army. Upon hearing that the rebel highlanders were marching south, Duncan began to work hard to cause trouble, he lead a small group of Highland troops loyal to the government against the small garrisons left behind by the Jacobites.
They performed small raids against the lands controlled by the Jacobite clans in the Highlands, harassed the supply lines for the main Jacobite army that was marching on London. It was these actions that also allowed him to safely eliminate Templar agents across Scotland with some security and anonymity, since Templars within Redcoat ranks were killed apparently by Jacobite supporters, whilst Templars in the Jacobite ranks were killed by those loyal to the government.
He would show in official records during the climatic battle at Culloden Moor, where he would fight alongside Government forces alongside other members of his Clan. However he would later become the "Black Sheep" of his clan for challenging the so called "Pacification" of the Scottish Highlands, where government forces moved through the region utterly destroying the Highland way of life. Anyone who was suspected of being a Jacobite were either imprisoned or executed, clan chiefs lost all their lands and untold thousands were shipped off to the new world.
Duncan alongside the other Assassins in Scotland attempted to provide help for people who were innocent of the charges against them. They provided the influence needed to see many hundreds released from prison through official pardons, others were safely kept in hiding until they could be secreted out of the county or to parts of Britain where they wouldn't be recognised.
For Duncan himself, he would work until the end of his life to help his fellow Highlanders through the difficult times, encouraging many to sign on to serve in the British military forces where they could be permitted to wear they traditional highland garbs. He would even briefly fight in the American war for independence alongside fellow highlanders even those that had fought for the Jacobites, in the siege of Quebec City.
Willamina Lovegood:

Born into a prestigious family of noble blood and excessive wealth, Willamina or Mina to her friends was raised into the expectations of her family, wanting her to be wedded to another prestigious family so that both would benefit. However she on the other hand had different ideas, from an early age she would often get into trouble, it is recorded in the journals of her father that she would often go against the wishes of her teachers and governess's by wearing clothes meant for boys.
On other occasions she would be caught climbing the walls of their manor down from bedroom into the gardens, be play fighting with other children using sticks as play swords. Her family utterly hated her disregard for her proper place, so much so that eventually she was sent off to the home of a family member that lived in proximity of a "School" for such problem children.
This did not stop her, she managed to escape the "School" and run away to the home of a friend who she trusted, this same friend was the daughter of the Spy Master for the King of Great Britain. The father recognised the potential of Mina and decided to take her in and train her to serve the nation as an operative in his network of spies. What the official records omit however was that the Spy Master was a member of the Assassins Brotherhood and in the process of training her introduced and later with her permission brought her into the Order. For the most part Mina worked for the Assassins in parts of Canada that had become part of the British Empire following its victory in the Seven Years War.
However in 1775 Achilles Davenport of the Colonial Brotherhood of Assassins recognised that the Brotherhood in the American Colonies needed help. Even though the Master Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton, more commonly referred to as Connor, had been recruiting a new Brotherhood in the 13 Colonies, the Assassins were still few in number. So he sent messages out to the other Brotherhoods across the world for help.
The British Brotherhood heeded the call and sent Mina to Canada to aid the Colonial Assassins, since she had conducted work there already as well as the presence of British forces in the region, then she would likely not arouse suspicion. Upon her arrival Connor sent word that American troops were marching north to "Liberate" Canada notably Quebec from the British, Mina recognised that the Canadians had no wish to be liberated and worked to support the Local forces in repelling the so called Patriots.
This included sabotaging the supplies of the Patriot forces, training the militias for the defence of Quebec City. With this help the region remained where it wanted to be, still part of the British Empire, but fears were still present of possible Templar involvement in the march into Quebec.
Mina worked with local contacts to identify any possible links between the so called liberation of Quebec and the Templars, she found it in the Hudson Bay Company, who feared that the American Rebels and their attempt at Independence would hinder their profit margin. The Templars were identified to have a prime hold on the company and used it to both spread their influence but also to gain the wealth needed to continue their work. But the Templars though they saw the reason for the attempted Liberation was to embarrass the local leaders and make it so they could put their own members into positions of greater power and influence.
But since the attempt was a failure, the Assassins were able to spread their influence across the region and solidify their position in the Colonies. The British Brotherhood recognising the delicate position the Brotherhood in North America was in, decided that Mina would remain in Canada and work under the Colonial Brotherhood from that point on.
Ulrich Krieger:

Infamy: Aided American Brotherhood during the American Revolution.
Born into a family of hardened soldiers, Ulrich was from a young age groomed to follow the tradition of his close and extended family to serve in Hesse-Kassel military either for its Prince or its allies. At the age of Twelve he was enlisted into the nations military where he would serve during the Seven Years War, he would be brought into the Elite Infantry after the conflict came to an end.
It was here that he encountered the Assassins Brotherhood of Germany and became a loyal recruit, operating within the boundaries of the Military to further the Assassins cause as well as gather information and intelligence.

One such brotherhood was the German Brotherhood who had an opportunity to send aid through the Hesse-Kassel alliance with Britain. Since the British were recruiting Germany soldiers notably Hessians to fight against the American Patriots, it was the ideal manner for Ulrich to go over without arousing too much suspicion.
Upon his arrival however, Ulrich began working with the Colonial Brotherhood now being lead partly by Connor to aid the Patriot cause and eliminate the Templar Presence in the Colonies. During the winter of 1776, Ulrich and the other Hessian units were quartered in the town of Trenton with word being that the Americans were close to defeat. Ulrich sent word to a fellow Assassin within the Patriot forces that the Hessians were indulging in a unofficial Christmas celebration, with even their commanding officers enjoying themselves and having no real care for what was happening.
As well as this he passed on information about the units strength and positions, such information proved great for the Patriots when Washington made his infamous crossing of the frozen Delaware river. During the following battle of Trenton which proved a decisive American victory, Ulrich managed to slip away and find safety until the battle was over, after which he decided to defect to the Patriots.
With the Americans taking him onboard, he would work with various other European officers that had come to support the American cause against the British. During the tough times at Valley Forge, Ulrich would aid Baron Von Steuben a Prussian officer that had come to help the Patriots, in training the makeshift Continental army into a force that could properly take on the British.
For much of the war, Ulrich would be forced to work with the training of raw recruits, though he was allowed to take part in raids and ambushes conducted lead by Connor and the other Assassins in the Colonies. Upon the American Victory, Ulrich recognising the danger should he return home to Hesse-Kassel decided to remain in the Colonies. With the blessing of the brotherhood in Germany, Ulrich became the prime Assassin operating around Delaware and Virginia.
Tekonwenaharake:
Birth place: Unknown

Infamy: Scouted for Assassins and Americans during Revolution.
Born into the Oneida Native American nation, which was a member of the Iroquois Confederacy, Tekonwenaharake was raised in a similar fashion as the future leader of the Colonial brotherhood Ratonhnhaké:ton better known as Connor. However being born a woman there was considerable differences, Hara as she would later be more commonly named, was raised with the expectation of being a wife and mother.
However a considerable problem would show as she grew up, she began to show a greater interest in becoming a warrior and hunter. Which whilst considered laughable by the other girls in the tribe, what shocked them was while talking about boys, Hara divulged that she didn't really have an interest in them, instead finding more attraction in girls.
The two were introduced and Achilles in turn introduced her to Connor, who seeing a similar spirit to himself when he was younger, decided to invite Hara into the Assassins Brotherhood. She accepted liking the ideas of no one holding the strings of others, something she felt was her life in her native village.
During the War between the Patriots and the British, Connor was approached by representatives of the Continental Congress, who were asking for him to request the native tribes of the Iroquois to side with their cause. Connor made no promises, but asked Hara to gather warriors willing to fight alongside the Patriots in the war as well as lead them.
As the war dragged on, with the loss of New York and the hardships the American troops were facing, Hara and her small unit of Native Warriors and hunters began conducting a guerrilla campaign against the British across the frontier. They performed ambushes against British and Loyalist patrols, attacked supply caravans and brining the wagons to the patriots, harassed Regular armies as they marched, gathered intelligence as well as scouted ahead of the American regulars.
However Hara would feel uncertain of her loyalties to the Patriot Cause when she learned of the Sullivan Expedition against the four nations of the Iroquois that had sided with the British. Although her own people the Oneida were safe since they had sided with the Patriots, she had started to question whether the Americans were the right side to be supporting. Connor having experienced the same conflict as his own people had been targeted by the Americans under Washington's orders, had Hara give aid to those fleeing the Sullivan Expedition.
She alongside the native warriors and scouts she commanded escorted survivors and refugees across the border, in Quebec and Rupert's Land (Modern Day Canada) where with the aid of other members of the Brotherhood and some allies in Quebec. She managed to ensure that the people were cared for properly. Although in the weeks that passed she walked out on the American forces with the help of a friend, she wrote a stern letter to the Continental Congress detailing her disapproval on how the Americans spoke of Freedom but were all too willing to destroy the freedoms of others.
Joaquin Delgado:

Infamy: Aided local hero El Zorro in combatting Spanish Oppression
Born in Mexico City, Joaquin Delgado, Technically Joaquin Delgado Jones was born to an American Father and a Mexican Mother. Though he always introduced himself as Delgado and actively avoided using his Fathers names unless he needed it.
From a young age, Joaquin had a keen interest with weapons and actively trained himself to use a variety of them when he could. At 16 he would sign up and join the Spanish Colonial military, where he served as a scout rider and sharpshooter for the outer settlements and towns, at some point he came into contact with the Assassins he recruited him into the Brotherhood seeing his expert skill with a musket to be of great value. Since after all he had managed to get a bulls eye at 200 yards 9/10.
With the Assassins help and resources, Joaquin would manufacture his own specialised musket that didn't require a flint or match in order to fire, which enabled him to fire his weapon accurately at any target in any weather.
At some point word came to the Assassins of a vigilante/bandit working the region of Los Angeles, a masked man going by the name of Zorro. Seeing a possible friend and ally, the Brotherhood in Mexico sent Joaquin north to California to find the man, upon his arrival though, Joaquin found a populace oppressed by a corrupt Alcalde who taxed the people beyond their means. During an attack by a group of bandits, Joaquin would intervene to help the people under attack, only to be helped when Zorro came along with the same intent.
After the fight, Joaquin explained his reasonings for coming to California and seeing the way Zorro helped the people in the region and gave them hope, Joaquin offered his services as well as those of the Brotherhood to the now named Diego Dela Vega who used the name Zorro to protect his identity and those he cared for. To make it easier for him to help, Joaquin was hired on by Diego as a helper in his families hacienda, whilst at the same time he would help Diego in his experiments in the secret cave hidden within.
Diego found Joaquin's personal musket and how effective it was from a distance, however Diego made clear his position that he never sought to kill anyone, which was problematic to the Assassin who believed that the only way to defeat the corruption was to remove the man responsible. But out of respect for his new friend Joaquin agreed to use only munitions that would incapacitate the targets not kill them.
Joaquin would remain in Los Angeles aiding Diego or more specifically "Zorro" in his mission to protect the people of California.
19th Century: 1800 - 1899
Peter Hook:
Birthplace: Portsmouth
Joining of Assassins: 1806
Branch: British Brotherhood of Assassins - West African Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Aided British government in enforcing the Slave Trade Act of 1807
Born into slavery, Peter was given his name by the owners of his mother, a rather cruel man who was known to mistreat the slaves he owned. When he was only 9 Peter lost his voice, when his master struck him hard in the throat during a drunken rage, worse followed when he was 12. His master and owner assaulted his mother sexually which lead her to take her own life.
Enraged at how his mother had been treated, Peter went to the kitchen and retrieved the first thing he could get his hands on, a metal hook meant for the hanging of meat. He went in search of his master and with the hook ended his life. He had intended to sit and wait for the authorities to arrive, but instead the first people he came into contact with whilst waiting was the Assassins who had come to kill the very man he had just murdered.
With their help, Peter Hook was according to the law a freed man who had been purchased from the dead man to another person who had granted him his freedom. Grateful for the chance of life, Peter joined the Assassins and began working to end the slave trade in Britain, he aided several individuals who were supporting the Abolitions movement. He also proved valuable for the Assassins in hunting down an underground network that kidnapped those who were free and shipping them off to the colonies.
When Britain passed the Slave Trade Act in 1807 which whilst not ending the slavery itself made it illegal for ships to transport slaves across British controlled territories. In essence any ship that left territories controlled by Britain in Africa that were caught with Slaves onboard as cargo were seized and the slaves returned to Africa. To support this, the Royal Navy established the West Africa Squadron to enforce a blockade of West Africa to ensure that no ships leaving the continent were slave vessels.
Peter Hook seeing this as a greater opportunity to help his people, requested permission of the Assassins in Britain to support the Royal Navy in its efforts. They agreed and with some influence, Peter Hook began serving under the commander of the Squadron whilst also linking up with the Brotherhood in Sierra Leone.
From 1808 onwards, Peter worked tirelessly not only to prevent Slave ships at sea but also to find and locate places where Africans were being sold to other European powers in Sierra Leone illegally. In 1841 when he learned of the Amistad case in the United States, Peter worked tirelessly to find the so called Slave Fort where European vessels met with African Slavers. With his help the British navy would locate the fortress and free all the captured people within, Peter would later travel to America where with the support of the American Brotherhood of Assassins gained the needed support to bring the survivors of the Amistad home to Africa.
Richard De Clerk:
Birth place: Liverpool

Infamy: Aided the Duke of Wellington in Campaigns against Napoleon
Richard De Clerk is a bit of a mystery, very little of him is present within the records of the Assassins or official government documents.
All that is known is that he served in the British Army, specifically within the Dragoons during the wars between Britain and France post Revolution. He had fought during the 1793 campaigns with the British against the French Republic, fought at the Siege of Toulon, the failed landing at Quiberon bay in support of Counter Revolutionary Rebels.
However during a stint in a hospital he would encounter the Assassins and was recruited into the Brotherhood, he worked with the Brotherhood to identify the Templars working within the confines of the British Military, there were fears however when word came from the French Brotherhood in Paris that the entire Revolution had been a manipulation by the Templars.
When the war in Spain began, Richard became attached to the General of the Allied forces in the Campaign Sir Arthur Wellesley who would become the Duke of Wellington. Officially speaking Richard De Clerk was listed in the archives of the British army as the commander of an elite scouting unit of Cavalry that would go behind enemy lines to both gather information but also cause trouble. Which is a partial truth.
Unofficially the vast network the Assassins had across Europe served as a keen intelligence gathering network for the overthrowing of Napoleon. Richard's true purpose under Wellington was to act as the mediator between the Assassins and him, as Wellington was an partial ally to the Assassins Order. Both he and the Assassins knew that Napoleon was dangerous and if not dealt with could be a powerful ally for the Templars. His information proved vital for Wellington to turn the war in Spain in the Coalitions favour which despite great difficulty lead to a relatively decisive victory.
He would later serve with Wellington after Napoleon returned from exile, Richard contacted the Assassins in France and warned them that the powers of Europe were not going to sit back. The French Brotherhood would pass word on when Napoleon marched north, Richard got the news that Napoleon crossed the border and immediately warned Wellington who was in the process of enjoying a ball. Richard not caring for the dirtiness of his uniform or his boots marched into the room and took Wellington aside to pass on the information.
During the battle of Waterloo, Wellington asked Richard and his riders to stand on his right flank at Hougomont, where throughout the day Richard lead his Assassins in fighting off the French Advances. During one attack he received a musket ball to his right knee and despite being unable to walk refused to withdraw, when he spotted the Old Guard forming up, he grabbed his horse and rode to Wellington not caring the fact he was in the open, he told the Duke of what he saw after seeing the injury, Wellington ordered him to stay alongside him for he no longer needed him as a fighter.
After the victory, Richard finally went to the doctors who informed him of the severity of his wounded knee, the join had been completely shattered and with no option he had to have the leg amputated. Upon his return to Britain he would continue to serve both the Assassins and Wellington in their efforts to keep some semblance of peace in Europe.
Benjamin Barker (Sweeney Todd)/ Mrs Nellie Lovett:
Birthplace: London
Joining of Assassins: 1840
Branch: British Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Acted as local agents in London until "Official Deaths"
Both born and raised in London, both Benjamin Barker and Nellie Lovett found their way to the Assassins in different ways. For Barker it was following his arrest and deportation on the orders of a Corrupt Judge on a false charge whilst overseas he was recruited into the Brotherhood who falsified documents that made Benjamin Barker officially dead and a legal British Citizen.
Whilst Mrs Lovett was a member of the Brotherhood long before her transfer to London, she was originally supporting Assassin operations in Liverpool and Newcastle. But when Sweeney Todd began his trip back to Britain from Australia, she moved to Fleet Street in London and established a Meat Pie shop. At the time London was a strong hold of the Templars and had been for nearly a hundred years, so the Assassins did not have a real presence in the city.
In an effort to try and keep an eye on the goings on in the city, the Brotherhood still maintained some connections within London but there were no real attempts to dislodge the Templar control. After returning to the city, Sweeney Todd went straight to Fleet Street where he met Mrs Lovett and established his own shop above hers, a barbers specifically.
Together over several months they used their respective shops to gather information for the Assassins in other parts of the country. He would pick the pockets of selected individuals when they entered his shop, whilst Mrs Lovett used her shop as a courier service for the Assassin network. Supposed customers would come in purchase some food or ale and would leave after having their fill, walk out with the information she and Mr Todd had gained.
After a while however they began to grow uneasy with the decision of the Council which acted as the Brotherhoods leadership. The Council felt that London was too dangerous for the Assassins to attempt any kind of long term direct involvement, preferring to skirt around the city limits picking off the Templar agents that came out.
Both Todd and Lovett however thought that with every year wasted, meant the Templars would become all the more harder to remove. So without actual authorisation of the Council they began to secretly eliminate Templar Agents in London, using both their shops to support this effort. Todd would assassinate the target in his barbers then using a secret chute dispose the body to the basement of the building where Mrs Lovett would use an improvised Incinerator to dispose of the bodies as well as possessions.
For months they used careful selection to identify certain Templar agents which could be eliminated easily without arousing too much suspicion on them. And for a good while they were very successful and the pair became close, since living in the same building, they thought it best to start a true relationship and later the two married. Although they had come to care for one another, the initial idea was to remove any suspicious eyes that might find it odd that the two were working so closely but not having any relation of any kind.
Despite a great number of successes though the pair began to take notice that the Templars were starting to look closer into the disappearance of its members. Realising the danger they were in with the Templars getting close, they contacted the Assassins outside the city who despite being displeased with the insubordination the pair had shown, reasoned that the elimination of Templar Agents in London had at least hampered their enemy and limited the spread of their influence.
So the Assassins worked to plan the faking of the pairs death and it was simple, the burned bodies Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett would be found in their building following a tragic fire. After the successful implementation of the plan, both Todd and Lovett were transported away from London and to a place where no one would recognise them.
Though they would return following the successful campaign of the Frye Twins in taking back London from the Templars. Under assumed names they reopened their shops in Fleet Street.

Infamy: Aided Union Generals in the American Civil War
Born into southern slavery, Albert Rook witnessed the barbarity of enslavement in the United States first hand, having suffered severe beatings and whippings from the time he could work the fields. Eventually however he decided to build his body and his mind for a singular purpose and that was to run.
At the age of 22 he finally saw his chance and ran in the swamps of Louisiana where he was able to vanish, whilst he was hunted he used the very swamp to his advantage his used a cut on his arm to smear blood onto the tattered shirt he had on. He then through that onto the ground just in front of the water where alligators were waiting, when the overseers hunting him found it they all just assumed that he had been killed by the Alligators and gave up the hunt.
Rook would eventually find his way to a small building in the swamp where fellow escaped slaves were taking refuge, they explained that the location was a hiding place for the Underground railroad. Using the railroad Rook would make it to the North and would find sanctuary with a abolitionist land holder, who was secretly a member of the Assassins Brotherhood.
Rook was invited to join the Assassins and he agreed on the condition that they work to help his fellow enslaved people back in the southern states. When the southern states started to secede from the Union, the Assassins feared the turmoil that would follow and pushed for a peaceful resolution, sadly though the Templars instigated the start of the war in order to solidify Federal Governance.
At first the Assassins were unsure what to do, since fighting for the Union was technically in support of the Templars, but they couldn't support the Confederates and their wish to continue slavery. In the end they chose the Union and Rook was at the forefront, whilst he was not officially allowed to join the Union armies in the fight, he was able to work in support of the Union forces specifically in the west under General Grant.
Rook's knowledge of Louisiana was of great help to the Union generals as well as the Swamp routes he used during his escape. Grant was an sympathetic ally of the Assassins and asked for their help in the western theatre of the war, Rook was the prime agent working for both, he would scout ahead of Grants army and alongside fellow Assassins pick off Confederate scouts and perform ambushes on isolated Confederate patrols and supply convoys. These acts aided the Union so much that Grant was finally able to move on Vicksburg which was the last stronghold of the Confederates on the Mississippi River, Rook again gave his support for the Union forces, scouting ahead and identifying the Confederate strong points and what types of cannon they had within the city limits.
This information aided Grant and Sherman in transporting their troops down the river under the very guns that the Rebels had. When Rook heard though that African American troops were fighting for the Union in the form of the 54th, he immediately requested permission to join them in their assault on Fort Wagner, Grant agreed to the request and despatched him.
Sadly during the Second battle of Fort Wagner, Rook would receive a crippling injury from a cannon ball, the impact utterly destroyed his right arm and blinded him in his right eye. As he was pulled away from the beach, he could only watch through his one good eye the 54th charge the fort.
Rook was returned to the homestead owned by the Assassins in West Virginia, where he would spend the rest of his life, training and teaching new recruits to the Brotherhood.

Infamy: Rebuilt the Brotherhood following the 1857 Rebellion
Born into a prestigious family from a long line of Maharaja's Amaja was raised with wealth and privilege, she never wanted for anything in her life. She would enjoy the finest clothes, the most beautiful of jewellery and of course the best teachers.
But the world she lived in was a dangerous one, the East India Company was expanding its power across India and was seeking more and more. Although her family and city were a close ally of the British, there were ever present dangers that the Company could make a move against them, so at her fathers insistence Amaja was trained to defend herself.
Then however came the great rebellion of 1857-1859, a massive uprising against the East India Company and its rule over much of India. Delphi became the focal point of the Uprising with Indian troops siding with the rebellion which threatened to drive India into chaos.
For the Assassins though the real danger was that Delphi was the site of their primary headquarters in India and when the rebellion began to spread through the city actively hunting down anyone connected to the Company. The Assassins headquarters was discovered and destroyed in the ensuing chaos, nearly all the Assassins within the city were either killed or forced into hiding.
Amaja decided to take action and sent word to any surviving Assassins in India to come to her families private holiday estate south of Delphi where she intended to rebuild the Order. But by the time the last of the survivors arrived the order in India was nearly destroyed, it turned out the Templars had used the uprising as a chance to destroy the Indian Brotherhood.
Needing new leadership Amaja took up the challenge and with some assistance managed to begin the process of bringing the East Indias Companies monopoly and rule of India to its end. Thanks to a fellow Assassin Thomas Bayter, the evidence needed to bring the company down was presented to the British Parliament and with no option available, the East India Company lost.
With these victories, Amaja had proved her worth and her ability, she was formally chosen by the survivors to be the new leader of the Indian Brotherhood. She would spend many years working to rebuild the ruined network of Bureaus scattered across India, yet with dutiful dedication and determination she was able to get the Brotherhood to the point it had been before the rebellion.
Thomas Bayter:
Birth Place: Surrey

Infamy: Acquired Evidence against the East India Company
A member of the Indian brotherhood of Assassins, Thomas Bayter acted as an internal agent for the Assassins on the inner workings of the East India Company that dominated India for nearly a century.
The Company had a long strangle hold over the region and had been using its dominance solely for the purpose of profit for its investors and share holders back in Britain. This often meant they performed acts of brutality to keep the population in check as well as productive in the various items that India produce, notably tea, opium, jewels etc.
Bayter had been working for the company before joining the Assassins, the work the company performed was the prime reason for him deciding to help the Assassins cause in freeing India from the brutal subjugation. From the post he was stationed at he used the inner workings of the company to his own advantage, although an Officer, Bayter spent much of his time handling documents and "Pushing Papers". Even if it wasn't the best job in the world, the constant moving of information meant he could gather information and secretly pass it along to the Assassins.
Eventually however as he read numerous reports of how the Company mistreated the local population, as well as the British Governments unwillingness to investigate due to "Money Greasing the wheels" so to speak. He began amassing a collection of incriminating documents that were accidently mislaid, these documents were of extreme danger to the Company and they actively began to search for them. But so confidant was the Company that they actually asked Bayter to help with the search.
But attention was taken away when the Rebellion of 1857-1859 began, Bayter used the chaos to snatch even more information and documents from the Company before going into hiding with the Assassins. When the rebellion was finally ended, he passed the vast information he had gathered to a trusted confidant who in turn took it to London and presented it to an Inquiry into the East India Company.
Bayter himself would surrender to British authorities but would be acquitted of any wrong doing thanks to his gathering of evidence against the policy makers. He would remain in India supporting the Brotherhood in its efforts to rebuild following the Rebellion.

Born into an Apache tribe of western Texas, Great Hawk is somewhat of a mystery, even in the records of the Assassins. All that is known is when he was properly recruited into the American Brotherhood of Assassins in 1865, besides that nothing is known of his past.
The later decades of the 19th century were a difficult time in North America, the United States was still recovering from its Civil war and was swiftly spreading westward. But the only issue was that these lands were already occupied by various native tribes who had in essence their own nations, but such was the dominating opinion of the United States that little care was made for the Indians.
Reservations were established and the tribes were either coerced or actively forced to live upon them, when they arrived aspects of their culture were pushed aside in favour of what the Americans deemed more civilized living. They tried to make the Indians become farmers, the only issue being that sometimes these reservations were on land that was excessively difficult to grow sustainable amounts of crops. Worse still the Americans often found it easy to violate or break treaties with the native peoples when it suited them, often when there was a economic incentive, notably gold.
When the Lakota Sioux tribes were given the Black Hills which were sacred to them in a treaty as the American government though them worthless, there was peace. But then one day a U.S army officer, George Custer, lead an expedition into the hills and discovered gold to be present, the Americans wanted the land back. But the tribes refused, knowing full well that a war was coming, the Assassins launched a two pronged assault, on the one hand they attempted to work the halls of Congress to honour the treaty with the tribes. Whilst also having Great Hawk to meet with the tribal leaders notably Sitting Bull with the same goal, but the Lakota and the Sioux were not willing to alter the treaty they had made with the government.
Then word came that Custer was leading a detachment of the Seventh Cavalry against the Indians in 1876, the Assassins knew they could not sit back. They knew full well that Custer cared only for his glory and was willing to go to great lengths to achieve it, all so that he make himself more known as the hero in the public eye. They informed Great Hawk and told him to work to prevent Custer from engaging the Lakota Sioux in battle.
So at first he and a small group of warriors performed acts of sabotage and deception to slow Custer's advance across the plains. The hope being that the slow movement would give the tribes and government the time needed for a peaceful resolution, however Custer proved himself able to push his men to the point that he got the momentum he wanted. This meant that day by day, he and the Cavalry got closer and closer to the Village, Great Hawk sent word requesting permission to kill Custer.
The Assassin leadership agreed and at the Battle of the Little Bighorn, Great Hawk aided the Native warriors first in drawing Custer away from the rest of his forces and then isolating him on Last Stand hill. Where finally as the Indian warriors surrounded them, Great Hawk took a Rifle and managed to shoot Custer twice.
Sadly however the successful assassination of Custer did not have the effect that the Assassins wanted, instead of making the government take a step back it invigorated them into dealing with the Indians once and for all. Great Hawk was forced into hiding among Assassin safehouses until he could safely return to Texas, but along his journey he learned of the death of Crazy Horse the famed warrior that lead the charge and later Sitting Bull's surrender.
According to the Journal of one Assassin who knew Great Hawk "He died a broken man, believing he had not helped the Lakota Sioux but brought their downfall"
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle:

Although not a full fledged member of the Assassin order, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle worked in other ways in support of the Brotherhood. Throughout his life and career he provided safe houses to the Assassins across the country whilst using his travels to act as a courier for the brotherhood.
And later with the beginning of his career as a writer and author, he would use the very stories of the Assassins throughout history as a source of inspiration. Each and everyone book or story that Arthur Conan Doyle wrote was from the histories of the Assassin order, from the Sherlock Holmes stories to the Lost World, he found the history of the Brotherhood as a great source of inspiration for his writing and while many didn't like that he was using the order for his own purposes, even if he did make changes to them.
None spoke out against it, since the books provided two things for the Assassins in Britain, first was a reliable source of steady income. Since Doyle would give a portion of what he made from the sales to the Brotherhoods efforts across the country and the world, whilst it also kept the public oblivious of certain goings on.
When he could though Doyle would make substantial changes to the narrative, whilst it would still hold onto the true inspiration elements were altered for the times. Such as the Hound of Baskerville, which was inspired by an account he had read of an assassin encountering a piece of Eden that had made a normal dog much larger and very aggressive.
20th Century: 1900 - 1990
Robert Crawley: 7th Earl of Grantham
Birthplace: Downton Abbey Grantham

Infamy: Established intelligence ring inside the upper echelons of society
Born to be the 7th Earl of Grantham, technically Robert was not brought into the Brotherhood until 1899, even though his father had been a member of the order for decades. Robert Crawley was brought into the Assassins Brotherhood before he was sent off to fight in the War in south Africa. He had hopes of using his influence to find a peaceful solution though he did not have much luck at first. Upon his return however he began to take greater stock in the Brotherhood and started to work in secret for the order.
He used his station to aid the Brotherhood across the country, connecting it to people who had similar ideologies to the Assassins as well as providing at least in some sense a partial income to support the Brotherhood financially just as his father had done before him. As well as this he allowed the Assassins to use his Estate as a safe haven for them, since a number of people live on land he owned it would not be suspicious to find people occupying empty homes with his consent.
Robert also acted as a middle man for the Assassins, since he knew a number of wealthy and influential people across the country often dining or meeting with them. He would be able to retrieve coded messages from agents and spies working from the shadows and pass them on to another agent along the way.
However following the birth of his children, Robert Crawley wanted assurances from the Assassins that they would respect his wishes and not bring his daughters into the brotherhood a request that was respected and honoured. But he also recognised the dangers his work would bring to his family and wanted some form of protection for the Crawley family. The Assassins agreed and with some work placed a few trusted Assassin apprentices within Downton Abbey, each of them would work to watch over and protect the family.
There was a Charles Carson who despite being retired as an Assassin agreed to work to help the Crawley's and became the chief confidant for Robert. Anna May Smith who would serve the daughters of Robert and keep a close eye on them and if necessary protect them and finally Tom Branson from Ireland who would act as their driver, his job was to keep an eye on the family when travelling as well as serve as a bodyguard should danger threaten them.
Throughout the early years of the 20th century, Robert would continue to work with the Assassins, during the first world war he aided them by using his Honorary position in the military as a means of collecting information. But following the war, He was struck by hard times economically and regretfully informed the order that he could longer provide them the support he had given in the past.
Given all that had been occurring at Downton over the years, the leaders of the brotherhood in London asked if he would like to step down from the Order. At first he refused still wanting to do some good in the world. But years later as his health began to take a turn, he was forced to accept that he could be of no further use to the Order, however the Brotherhood informed him that they would still honour their agreement and continue to protect his family.
Fransika Albrecht:

Raised from difficulty, Fransika came from a family that had a great amount of national pride which bordered on the extreme, though she had very little interest in such. At age 4 the first in a long line of hard lessons came when she learned of the death of her father, uncle and oldest brother in the first world war.
It was from here on that in secret she questioned the ideology of national pride which were only reinforced when she began to experience the hardships that Germany began to face as the war dragged on. She watched her neighbours very nearly come to blows over scraps of food, people being taken away in ambulances never to be seen again from a sickness, soldiers returning home with clear evidence of the horrifying truths of war.
In 1930 she joined the Assassins Brotherhood with the hope that with them, then maybe another war could be prevented, which was a primary goal for her personally upon witnessing the growing power of both the left and right, Communism in the east and fascism in the west. In 1933 she was tasked with infiltrating the Nazis party which proved relatively easy for the young adult who came from a family that sacrificed much for Germany.
Over the following years she witnessed the Nazis manipulate the German people for their own selfish goals which only grew worse and worse, from the mafia style hits during the Night of the Long Knives, to the brutal oppression of the Jewish people over the years leading up the start of the Second world War. Throughout these years, Fransika worked with the Assassins to safely move people wanting to escape the Nazis get out to the safety of nations that would be out of reach of Germany.
But when war started, she worked all the more harder from within the halls of the Nazis' own power, thanks to her assumed loyalty she was able to move around with relative freedom. This enabled her to gather information for resistance groups across the continent wanting to oust the Nazis either from their nation or from Germany itself.
Thanks to the information she collected the Allies were able to successfully target Axis prime targets both from the air but also in strategic raids either by airborne special forces or amphibious assaults. Though she would come into certain dangers in 1944 following the July plot to assassinate Hitler and take over the government. Suspicions spread throughout the structure of the Nazis, some eyes looked at her but she was safely able to avoid being caught in the arrests and executions that followed the plots failing.
Though the risk was deemed too much for the Assassins leadership, who decided that the threat on her life was growing too much and wanted to pull her out of Germany for her own safety alongside the few surviving Assassins left in Germany. However when plans were discovered that Hitler was not only a Templar but was making plans for his escape when Germany lost the war, knowing this Fransika knew she couldn't leave.
So instead she made so she was implanted in the Fuerher bunker when Hitler intended to leave as Berlin fell, with her help another Assassin was able to prevent Hitler from escaping from Berlin and successfully assassinate him. Following the end of the war, Fransika aided in the hunting of Nazis war criminals and ensuring that they see justice at the infamous trials, even being a witness in the now famed Nuremberg Trials.
Veronique Lorraine:

Infamy: Aided the French Resistance of Paris during WW2
Veronique had very little in the way of a true home before the beginnings of world war 2, she was almost constantly on the move with her closest friends, who were a team of racers that travelled with the competitions.
This was a stronghold of the Assassins in the City, who used the drinking of officials and other individuals to gain information. As well as that the secret basement beneath the theatre provided an ideal hiding place, but as the occupation intensified Veronique made contact with the Resistance and with the Assassins began to support their efforts.
Thanks to her the Assassins and the French Resistance began to spread out and establish new Bureaus in other parts of the city. But recognising that the Nazis would perform brutal acts of retaliation for the actions of the resistance, Veronique decided that it would be for the best if the Assassins and the Resistance limited their acts against the occupation. Instead of performing an Insurrection with guerrilla warfare, they instead would work to sabotage the Nazis efforts across France, they would plant explosives in vital industries, sabotage communication lines, gather intelligence on the enemy strength and weaknesses.
However following the Allied Victory in Normandy, the Resistance decided that the time had come to make their big move. Veronique and the Assassins agreed, they began to safely assassinate leading Nazis commanders as well as those who blindly followed Hitlers orders, with these individuals dead, the Resistance as well as the citizens of Paris were able to ignite an albeit partially successful uprising against the occupation.
But when news came that the Nazis intended to destroy the city rather than see it liberated by the Allies, Veronique sent a plea for help from the Allied forces through Assassin communications. The call was answered by General Phillipe Leclerc, who was a secret ally of the Assassins, he lead his forces to Paris without any real authority from the Overall Allied leadership who would eventually relent.
Following the end of the war, Veronique would continue to work with the Assassins to ensure that the post war years in France would not be controlled by the Templars.
Martino Rossi:
Birth place: Palermo Sicily

Infamy: Forced the American Government to Acknowledge the existence of the Mafia.
Born into an immigrant family from Sicily, at a young age his family who had a long history of being members of La Cosa Nostra were forced to flee for their very lives when Fascist Dictator Benito Mussolini came to power. Coming to the United States the family renewed themselves into the Italian American mafia, both his parents were official members of a New York gang and there were expectations for Martin as he became more known as in the states to follow along.
But Martin didn't really see the Mafia as the best choice in life for him, he wanted to do something more, something that he hoped would make a difference for people who were struggling. But his family were adamant and pushed him to join the gang of up and coming Godfather Charles "Lucky" Luciano. Still though Martin was regarded as a bit of a nice guy even when trying to deal out punishments for people who were late in their payments, some even suspected that he was covering the difference for people that couldn't pay the full amount.
It was around this time in 1937 that he was recruited into the American Brotherhood of Assassins who were looking for an insider for the growing power of the American Mob. He began to safely pass along information to his fellow Assassins as well as used his connections within the Mob to cover up certain action that had been performed by the Brotherhood, so trustworthy in the Mob that he was became sort of emissary for his family, since other crime families seemed to respect him. But as the power and influence of the Mob continued to grow, fears began to escalate among the Assassins who feared the criminal element taking a dominating role in society.
Although the so called Commission had been around for a number of years by this point, its effectiveness and secrecy made it so that the Assassins knew full well that the Authorities would not be able to say that Organised Crime exists. This was made worse when evidence was found by Martin that showed that many leading mobsters had lined the pockets of various influential people including judges, politicians and District attorneys, this meant it would all the more harder for law enforcement to get a handle on the issue.
So in 1957, Martin took a step in the right direction, he secretly convinced Mob leaders across the country to come together for what become a conference meeting of all the leaders of the American Mafia in a luxury house in the Appalachian mountains. What no one knew however was that the Assassins were lying in wait, taking photographs of the meeting until the Police arrived just as planned. Now with clear evidence and no way of hiding it, the United States Law Enforcement specifically the FBI were forced to acknowledge the existence of the Mob.
For the following decades, Martin would work to either Assassinate leading Crime leaders or secretly aid law enforcement in their investigations by identifying and passing along the names of individuals who could become Informants.

Infamy: Operated underground network in Eastern Germany
Born in Germany during rebuilding of Europe following the second world war, Michael was raised in a time of insecurity. In the West Capitalist Governments were worried about the growth of Communism across the world, whilst in the East Communist Nations were seeking to prevent Capitalism from becoming the dominant power.
At a young age, Michael and his family moved to West Berlin for his father to continue his work and for a time there was some peace. But then in 1961 at the age of 20, Michael was working with an Insurance firm and went into East Berlin to visit a client but when he left to return home, he was prevented from crossing back over by the new regulations that became the Berlin Wall. Despite being a citizen of West Germany, he was unable to properly prove it, since he had left his identification at home.
But his greatest help for the Assassins cause was his side project, from a building he leased to establish his East Berlin office and residence, a building that just happened to sit close to the now infamous Berlin wall. He with the help of the Brotherhood and a few close allies on both sides of Berlin began the construction of an underground tunnel. He knew that even the best forgeries can be identified, so they would require a way of moving back and forth that would avoid the police and guards.
Michael as an "Insurance investigator" often had to meet clients at his office, so the idea was simple, the "Clients" would come in to talk, but instead would be secreted into a hidden basement before being taken through the Tunnel after dark. Once on the other side, an associate had leased a building on the other side would meet them and provide them the means of getting asylum in West Germany.
For nearly 20 years Michael and the Assassins would operate this underground network, safely getting people who were afraid of being persecuted or arrested in the east. Gradually the network would expand from not one tunnel but several at different points across the city. When the Berlin wall fell however, Michael decided to keep the tunnels open, but would now be used by the Assassins in the city, the building that houses the Tunnel entrances would become safehouses for the Brotherhood and the tunnels important escape routes in case of discovery.
Konstantin Orlov:
Birthplace: Leningrad

Branch: Russian Brotherhood of Assassins
Infamy: Aided opposition against counter reform in Soviet Union
Born during the years of the Stalinist Soviet Union, Konstantin was raised during the rapidly changing country. At the time of his infancy, the Soviet Union was in the midst of the Second Five Year that had been brought on by Joseph Stalin.
Konstantin's father who was a loyal supporter of Stalin served in the infamous NKVD, the Soviet Unions secret police as such he was often required to move around the country to perform his duty. At 1918 Konstantin joined the Russian Navy, where he began to show his skill and ability as a leader fairly quickly.
In 1955 he was recruited into the Russian Brotherhood as he had a secret support for the reformists within the Soviet Government. He was later given a major promotion in the Soviet navy and took the command of an important submarine, he used his position within the navy to provide support to the Assassins when he could obviously not too often in order to maintain secrecy. 
His primary form of aid for the cause was the passage of information from within the confines of the military infrastructure, due to his clearance level he was able to gain access to certain intelligence that would be of great help to the Brotherhood. As well as this, his deployments across the worlds Oceans allowed him and a very small group of fellow Assassins onboard his submarine which by the 1980s was now one of the Soviet Unions prized Nuclear submersibles.
By having to go out to different Oceans, he was able to pass along messages to other Brotherhoods across the world without arising too much suspicion. As time went on however the situation in the Soviet Union began to falter, slowly the nations was beginning to break down due to the policies of its leaders, eventually in 1989 various nations across Eastern Europe began to secure their independence and overthrow the Communist Puppet governments that Stalin had installed.
To try and prevent the fall of the Soviet Union though, a group of hardliners planned a military coup to overthrow the more reformist government. Upon learning this, Konstantin immediately sent word to the Assassins in Moscow and warned them of the Coup, he identified the leaders of the conspiracy as well as their military strength. He himself immediately set off intending to returned to Moscow with a groups of trusted soldiers and sailors as well as a team of hardened Assassins, when the Coup began, Konstantin had yet to arrive in the city.
The Assassins already in the city limits did their best to curtail the coups at every turn, they aided citizens who erected barricades in different districts of the city. Konstantin later received orders from Gorbachev the official leader of the Soviet Union to secure the Nuclear Armaments of the nation, although wanting to help people in Moscow, Konstantin understood the severe danger of the Nuclear weapons being taken into the hands of the Conspirators.
With his team of Assassins as well as the soldiers and sailors loyal to him, he arrived at a secret location and engaged Conspiracy forces that were guarding it. Officially this battle never took place, with the Assassins successfully defeating the Hardliners, with the Nuclear codes now safely secured, Konstantin contacted Gorbachev who informed him that the Conspiracy was failing.
Moscow was once again secure and by August the 23rd, all the leaders of the Coup had been arrested, Konstantin himself would remain in Moscow for a number of years aiding in the reforming of the Soviet Union and attempting to promote peace following its dissolution.
Modern: 1990s - Present
Over the Years the work of the Assassins has changed, now days the need for direct Assassination has become lesser and lesser. Now days most Assassins are Assassins in name only, they primarily perform actions on behalf of the Brotherhood that include the gathering of information, providing support and other actions.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs:
Birthplace: Stillwater Pennsylvania

Infamy: Aided Assassins in protecting the Innocent within military ranks
A former Gunnery Sergeant and Scout Sniper of the United States Marine Corps, Leroy Jethro Gibbs is a man with very few to compare. He served in several tours in the Marine Corps including Operation Desert Storm, sadly his career with the Marines would end there following the news that his wife and daughter had been killed.
He would join the Naval Criminal Investigative Service or NCIS, a Federal Agency that serves to investigate any and all crimes involving the United States Navy or Marine Corps. He was invited into the Assassins Brotherhood by his friend and Mentor Mike Franks, who believed that Gibbs would be a good addition to the Brotherhood which has been proven right over the years.
Things would prove exceedingly difficult for the Brotherhood following the Templar Purge of 2000, where a nearly every major Assassin encampment, Commune and safehouse was attacked by the Templars and destroyed. Following the purge, the Assassins across the world were on the brink of being utterly wiped out, but slowly they have begun to rebuild.
Gibbs was lucky in surviving the Purge due to his placement in a Federal Agency as well as the fact that he disguised much of his work for the Brotherhood through his work. Primarily Gibbs works on behalf of the Assassins from within the confines of the Law, using his access to the various federal mainframes to obtain information on targets as well as gather intelligence for other cells across North America.
His work for the Brotherhood has included:

-Prevented Assassination of Several Key figures
And Countless other examples can be presented.
He is also a keen recruiter for the Brotherhood to an extent, over his years in NCIS, he was able to recruit several members of the Marine Corps and Navy into the Brotherhoods cause either directly or as allies. These include friends of his such as an FBI Agent, former comrades from his time in the Marines, individuals that he has encountered during his various cases and so on.
In 2021 Gibbs was suspended from NCIS and later following a series of events, including an attempt to kill him, the Brotherhood felt that Gibbs was no longer safe in Washington D.C. Due to an investigation he had been performing for a friend and fellow member of the Brotherhood, he was tasked with following the Investigation to Alaska. Following the successful conclusion of the Case, it was deemed that for his own safety, he would remain in Alaska where he would train new recruits for the Brotherhood.
Aleksander Gorlev:
Birthplace: Siberia

Infamy: Died protecting information from Templars during the Purge
The Last Leader of the Russian Brotherhood of Assassins, Aleksander Gorlev was born in Siberia and with hard work managed to find his way westward out of the hardships and cold of the Siberian wilderness.
He started his own trucking business in Smolensk, a small business that mostly worked the Smolensk area but later became a large working unit that performed trucking services for most of the region. In 1972 he was recruited into the Brotherhood and like with his business rapidly rose through the ranks, by 1990 he was the leader of the Russian Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood in Russia was a hard position to be in, since the constant issues within the Soviet Union and its successor the Russian Federation meant that there was always constant problems and difficulties. But Aleksander took each problem in his stride and over the years built a strong Brotherhood across Russia from Smolensk in the west to Vladivostok in the East.
Things would prove exceedingly difficult for the Brotherhood following the Templar Purge of 2000, where a nearly every major Assassin encampment, Commune and safehouse was attacked by the Templars and destroyed. Russia was one of the worst hit of all the Brotherhoods since it was so spread out, every safehouse, every safe have, commune and hideout was found and destroyed by the Templars, with hundreds of Assassins killed in the fighting.
Aleksander was one of those killed during the Purge, at the time he was hosting a meeting of several leading Assassins to discuss what was to be done about the purge. One of those present was future Mentor William Miles, before the meeting had even begun, the Templars found the location and attacked. Aleksander ordered a number of Assassins to get William out safely whilst he destroyed what he could, it is thanks to Aleksander Orlov that William Miles managed to escape with his life and continue to lead the Brotherhood.
Aleksander on the other hand died during the attack, his final act was initiate a purge protocol, which burned everything inside the building, electronic and paper to ashes, thus insuring that any information about Assassins across the world was kept out of Templar Hands.
Arthur Zola:

Infamy: Rebuilt Assassin Network in East Africa
Africa has always been a home for the Assassins throughout the ages, since the cause of freedom has held strong among its various cultures and peoples. But this was put to the test during the Templar Purge, the very nations that the Assassins had a hand in creating or reforming had become hot beds for political instability.
The Templars used a variety of militant and political factions to eliminate Assassin communes and safe havens across most of Africa. Thankfully a number of Communes and safe havens in East Africa were able to escape the Purge and follow on attacks by the Templars, this is in part thanks to the East African Brotherhood of Assassins leader Arthur Zola.
Who used the political system against the Templars, using a series of allies and agents within the governments of different East African Nations, notably Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. He was able to lessen the power of the Templar efforts, since most of these countries had begun to grow in stability and peace, they had little interest in making moves that would threaten it.
Although there were many losses, Zola learned quickly that to be safe the Assassins in East Africa needed to be rebuilt into a new network. After consulting with other leaders across the world, including William Miles and Sherlock Holmes, Zola decided that the best path open to them was to establish a network of cells both active and sleeper. Active Cells would work in small groups no more than 15 Assassins, to be safe no Cell active or "asleep" would know the location of the others, this was to ensure that if captured or killed then nothing they had could threaten the Network as a whole.
Zola himself maintains a constant movement of his headquarters, never staying in one location for any length of time. The Longest he spent in a single location was 5 days, the shortest 3 hours.
Jackson Dawes:

Following the Purge of the Assassins Brotherhood across the world, changes were implemented to maintain the secrecy of the Assassins but also their long term activities.
One plan was the establishment of a special team of Elite Assassins that were to act as the Tier 1 Operators for the Assassins. The idea was presented following the failed mission to rescue Desmond Miles from the Abstergo Facility in Italy, the assault was launched by a team of 6 Assassins that attempted to fight their way into the facility and get Desmond out before the Templars could access a certain memory through the Animus.
All six were killed in the fire fight with the Security forces.
Following this and the deaths of countless Assassins across the world, the plan for the Elite Assassin team was implemented by Mentor William Miles, who selected former special forces operator Jackson Dawes to select, train and lead the team. Dawes had served 10 years in the elite Navy Seal teams notably 3 years in Seal Team 6 and was recruited during a tour in Afghanistan when he discovered the work of the Templars who were attempting to gain control of the countries vast resources.
Dawes selected a team of 24 Assassins all of whom had similar backgrounds, all had served in various militaries from around the world, all had served in warzones of one kind or another, they had all been Assassins for a certain period of time and above all else they had all been thoroughly examined and given extensive background checks.
The focus of Dawes and his team is not glued to any continent or location, they are assigned the most dangerous of tasks and missions. These could include infiltrating a key Templar location, assassinating a priority target, sabotaging equipment or facilities that the Templars deem vital even performing purge missions of their own. Meaning they go to locations that the Assassins have worked out of and ensure that any information there is safely destroyed.
Since 2012 Dawes and his team have performed 38 successful missions across the world, but with some casualties, the of the original 24 Assassins, only 9 were alive as of January 2023. However due to the extreme need fort his elite Team, the Brotherhood has continued to provide Dawes and the surviving members the dossiers of various Assassins that may be suitable replacements for their losses.
Sherlock Holmes:

Branch: British Brotherhood of Assassins - London Cell
Infamy: Rebuilt the Assassins Network in Britain and New York following the Purge
Although technically born into the Brotherhood through his Mother, Sherlock Holmes would not become a true member of the Brotherhood until 1997 around the same time that he began working as a consulting Detective at Scotland Yard. His keen eye for detail and his deductive mind made him a key player for the Brotherhood in London.
Sadly he would fall on hard times when he began part taking in various narcotics due to the constant pressures his own mind gave him. Thankfully this addiction may have been his saving grace from the Templar Purge in 2000, the Templars believing that an addicted individual such as him would be an unlikely member of the Assassins. He would later relocate to New York City where whilst working on behalf of the New York Police Department, Sherlock began aiding the local brotherhood, in rebuilding its numbers as well as its connections.
At the same time through a series of encrypted messages and lines of communication, he began to systematically rebuild the Assassins in Britain. He started by reorganising the Brotherhoods network from an active role, to a series of small sleeper cells that would not be permitted to know each others exact location, as well as this each Cell was given a new level of self Autonomy. They were all expected to maintain their own safehouses, their own equipment, tools, recruiting, the idea of this was to ensure that if one Cell was discovered and destroyed then the rest would not suffer.
Despite occasions where he would encounter troubles both in London and in New York, Sherlock would maintain a constant devotion to his work on behalf of the Brotherhood. At one point he was able to convince his both his Father, Morland and his Brother Mycroft to become fellow members of the Assassins. Mycroft who had begun working with at first MI6 and later the American NSA was able to gather information and provide support for Assassin teams across the world. Whilst up until his death Morland following his taking control of a Global Criminal Enterprise, used is vast resources and connections to aid the Assassins by eliminating key Templar figures or destroy important assets.
At one point Sherlock was forced into faking his death both to remove a Templar in New York from a position of power but also to ensure his own safety. Intelligence had come through that the Templars were close to identifying him as a member of the Assassins, so he was relocated to a safe house in Italy and began working internationally to disrupt Templar efforts. Following a conclusion that it was safe for him to return to New York and renew his leadership of the New York Cell.
Amelia Roberts:
Birth place: Boston

Branch: American Brotherhood of Assassins - New York Cell
Infamy: Exposed evidence of illegal practices by political figures and influencers
As previously said, not all Assassins are direct Assassins, Amelia is an example of that, though she is a full member of the Brotherhoods New York Cell. She very rarely gets her hands dirty by performing Assassinations or "Beat Downs" as she calls them (beating up Templar agents), instead she is the primary investigator for the New York Cell.
Using her cover as a private investigator, Amelia performs a variety of missions that are focused on the gathering of intelligence, she might trick her way into an office or building to look through papers or computers. She also is responsible for following and maintaining close observation of Templars and other individuals throughout the city, during which she'll note down what they do, photograph them or who they are with, anything and everything regardless of how minor it might seem.
She has shown her skill throughout the years, by gathering information and conclusive evidence of the illegal actions undertaken by political figures and major businessmen throughout the city. Though she never does this herself, the connections the Assassins have throughout the city meant that the evidence is released to the public by news outlets.
Such successes she has had include:
-Exposing of a Investment Firm as a money Laundering front
-Photographing a deal between an Abstergo Executive and a known Criminal leader
-Exposure of a political figure in corruption
-Photographing a D.A taking a bribe from an Abstergo employee
Donnie Mayhew:
Birthplace: Los Angeles
Joining of Assassins: 2009
Branch: American Brotherhood of Assassins - L.A Cell
Infamy: Hacked Several Billionaire industries and exposed wrongdoings.
Former Corporate Hacker turned Assassin, Donnie Mayhew is considered a Whizz with computers and electronics. Even going so far as to build a custom made mask that both hides his face but also alters his voice, all the while producing an interference for facial recognition software, meaning if anyone was to try and I.D him it would bring up a random match each time.
Although he joined the Assassin in 2009, he had acted as a friend of the Brotherhood since he was a young, performing a computer and hacking service to the Assassins during those years. Following the Purge though the Assassins were in need of new recruits and offered him a chance to become a full member of the Brotherhood, Donnie agreed and ever since has been creating a new battleground against the Templars.
In 2015 Donnie single handily hacking into 9 Billion Dollar industries that were either owned directly by Abstergo or the Templars and exposed everything they had attempted to cover up.
-An Oil company had been deliberately withholding fuel to inflate the prices
-An Software Company was leaving problems in their works so customers would have to buy upgrades
-A Computer Security firm that serviced the Government had been defrauding them
-A Mining Company was fraudulently lying on mineral rights deals (Not for Gold but Uranium)
And countless others, many of these same companies and industries eventually went bankrupt when lawsuits, fines and the crashes in their stocks had finished.
Besides these efforts, Donnie is also responsible for the maintaining of the Assassins communications system and its encryption, enabling the different Cells across the world to maintain a constant communication in safety.
Although only rumour, it is said that Donnie intends to work with other Hackers to establish a new group that would act as a face for the Assassins on the Digital level.
He intends on calling it Dedsec.
Daniel Harrelson (Hondo):
Birthplace: Los Angeles
Joining of Assassins: 2010
Branch: American Brotherhood of Assassins - L.A Cell
Infamy: Aided Assassin efforts in the Los Angeles region
An L.A man born and raised, Daniel Harrelson or Hondo as he more often called by both friends and associates. Was raised in the African American communities of L.A and still prefers to live there as many of the people there he considers good friends regardless of the times they are going through.
A keen believer of reform and change, Hondo originally saw his plans see him through the United States Marines where he served during the Somali Civil War. But after encountering young boys fighting in the war, he felt that if wanted change he had best start at home and returned to L.A where he joined the L.A.P.D and later S.W.A.T. It was around this point between him leaving the Marines and joining the LAPD that he encountered the Assassins who wanted the same thing.
Although he made clear that he had no intention of performing an Assassination himself, the Brotherhood understood and explained that in recent times they find that direct action such as Assassinations are becoming fewer and fewer, instead they are starting to focus more on disruption and acting from the shadows. Hondo liking the ideals and cause of the Brotherhood agreed and joined.
Now as the leader of 20 Squad, a team in the LAPD SWAT, Hondo has pushed for greater changes both within the police as well as in the community. At one point he even decided to push for a friend and fellow team member to report racist believing police officers to their superiors, however following the Departments failure to perform any real action, he decided that drastic action was needed and released the officers and the Departments failures to the media. Though he faced backlash, the Brotherhood did what they could through their connections to ensure that he would not be kicked off the force.
Through this whole time though as a Police Officer, Hondo has used his place within the force to secretly gather information on individuals that the Assassins consider targets. His access to the police network has enabled him to get access to police cameras, reports as well as criminal records which has allowed the Assassins to maintain a close eye not only their targets but members of the Brotherhood in the city. When off duty, Hondo also provides another service for the brotherhood by performing observation and intelligence gathering, this information he would pass on and help Assassin teams in the planning of their missions to either infiltrate, sabotage or eliminate a target.
However in more recent times Hondo has formerly requested to take a "Backseat" in the Brotherhood, whilst he has made clear that he would continue to help the Assassins Cause. He would not do anything that would place his family at risk and if anything was to happen then he wanted an assurance that the Brotherhood were protect them.
Jose Alvarez:
Birthplace: Unknown
Joining of Assassins: 2007
Branch: Colombian Brotherhood of Assassins - Bogota Cell
Infamy: Pushed for peace treaty between F.A.R.C and Government
Born in a insignificant village within the depths of the Jungles of Columbia, Jose Alvarez was raised in a country on the brink of absolute anarchy. the Columbian Government had barely any control over the country that was technically theirs to "Protect and serve", in the North right wing A.U.C guerrillas held power whilst in the south where he lived the Communist F.A.R.C Guerrillas dominated the jungles and mountains.
Jose joined FARC following an attack by government forces on his village, an attack that killed his parents and his younger brother. He would serve in the FARC guerrilla movement for a number of years until he came into contact with the Assassins who recruited him into their ranks, this was because Jose had learned that the liberty he was seeking was being backed by criminal elements that had caused just as much death and destruction as the conflict he had been fighting in.
Seeing the manipulations being committed by the Templars, the Assassins had been trying to find a peace to the conflict and finally in 2012 they managed to get the Columbian Government to consider the possibility of a peace treaty with both the Communist Guerrillas but also the right wing militias like the AUC. By this point Jose had spent nearly 20 years fighting in FARC and was the commander of his own unit, nearly all of whom were members of the Assassins.
For the next 3 years, Jose used his influence and understanding of the movements internal structure to push for the Guerrillas to listen and begin talks. He pointed out that FARC had been fighting the Columbian government for decades by this point and they had no achieved their goal, if anything he declared they were in danger of becoming just as corrupt as the politicians they wished to overthrow. Noting in his declaration that FARC was using drug smuggling, extortion, kidnapping and working for Drug Cartels to get the money they needed to fight, he was worried that their movement was little more that a puppet of criminals.
Understanding certain points in his arguments, the leadership of FARC agreed and asked Jose to meet with a government representative under a truce to inform them that they were willing to discuss a peace.
However Jose discovered during the negotiations that elements of FARC who had become very rich from the drug trade wanted to see the peace deal collapse since an end of the conflict meant that they would have to stop. So they intended to cause and incident that would make either side reignite the war, but Jose having learned this lead a small party of Assassins and trusted FARC Guerrillas and caught the conspirators in the act of plotting their attempt.
Officially speaking, the conspiracy was kept a secret and makes no mention at any discussion, but Jose's work in ensuring that the plot failed ensured that in November 2016 a treaty was ratified by both sides and properly signed. Today Jose works with former FARC comrades and Assassins alike to maintain the peace whilst also hunting down Drug Cartels and seeing their control of the country come to an end.
Qasim:
Birthplace: Kandahar
Joining of Assassins: 2001
Branch: Afghanistan Brotherhood of Assassins - Helmand Cell
Infamy: Organised Resistance against Taliban Government
Born in Northern Afghanistan, Qasim was born to an Afghan tribe that resisted the Taliban and fought in the Northern Alliance, a collection of militias and tribes that wished to resist the Taliban Government in Kabul.
Following the attacks of 9/11, Qasim encountered the Assassins who believed that the attack was orchestrated by Rogue Templar Agents who wanted to gain control of Afghanistan and its resources. Seeing a kindred spirit, Qasim readily joined the Brotherhood and worked to help the United States in removing the Taliban government.
Though promises were made that none who had worked for the Coalition forces would face any reprisals, but Qasim didn't believe them having seen the Taliban break promises before and the Assassins stood by him. So for years now, Qasim and the Assassins in Afghanistan have operated an underground network to safely get people out of the country that were afraid of the Taliban government and the possibility of reprisals. These include a number of safehouses and safe havens where people are kept hidden until the Network could organise a safe transit out of the country, usually via roads and paths through the mountains to Assassin Cells or allies in one of a number of countries such as Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
Qasim himself has refused to leave Afghanistan regardless of the danger to himself, intending to continue the fight against the Taliban in any way he can.

Infamy: Shadow of leading Templars and Eliminating traitors and spies
There is no name, nor identification for the man known only as "Spectre", wanted by several agencies across the world due to the influence of the Templars. ? is only known from his actions, there is no face in any file or document, there is no finger prints to compare not even a sample of his voice.
This makes him the most feared Assassin in the world for the Templars, as they can never know whether he is there or not. Such an agent is a great boon to the Assassins following the Purge, ever since ? has worked for a singular goal of maintaining a close observation of key Templar targets across the world.
His multi lingual skills as well as his mastery of disguise has made it possible for him to infiltrate a number of Abstergo facilities. It was ? that managed to gain access to the Abstergo Entertainment system and implant a trojan horse virus that enabled the Assassins to use the data in the servers to use their "Initiates" network although how he did it is anyone's guess.
Some in the Templars regard ? as the Assassin version of the Black Cross, the mysterious rank whose purpose is to seek out and eliminate corruption within the ranks. Which is somewhat true as following the Purge, ? has played a major role in the removal of every Templar Plant within Assassin Ranks. Even when the Templars attempt such a plant, ? is quick to assassinate the agent before they can even make contact with the Assassins.
The only image of ? is the one shown and even then it has not been proven. It is a still from the security camera at an Abstergo Safe house that is not listed in any Templar database.
Rin Saito:
Birthplace: Tokyo
Joining of Assassins: Born into the Brotherhood
Branch: Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins - Tokyo Cell
Infamy: Rebuilt the Japanese Brotherhood
The Underworld of Japan is a dangerous place for the Assassins, in the past the Brotherhood worked to overcome the violence of the Yakuza clans that battled for supremacy. But Following the Purge decisions were made to conceal themselves among the criminal underworld.
Such was the plan of Rin Saito, born into a family with a long history of being members of the Assassins Brotherhood, Rin took control of the Assassins in Japan following the Templar Purge in 2000. Her family owned and operated a prestigious hotel in Tokyo which catered to tourists alongside the rich and wealthy from across the world. Her father the former owner according to official records died of a heart attack in December 2000, but Rin knows the truth, that her father was killed by the Templars as part of their purge.
Ever since, Rin has worked to reorganise the Assassins across Japan into the disguise of a Yakuza Clan, using her Hotel as the primary headquarters she has renewed the Assassins through the sleeper cell method employed in other parts of the world to great effect. Under her the Assassins in Japan by 2018 have rebuilt nearly to their former full strength finding keen recruits among the Yakuza foot soldiers who are wanting to do more Honourable work.
Secrecy for Rin is paramount, she insists that any and all actions are kept in the shadows and when they must be more open that efforts are made to give the impression that it is a bunch of criminals doing the deed. So successful is Rin in her goals of maintaining the secrecy of the Brotherhood in Japan that at one point Abstergo Industries hosted an important conference and gala at her Hotel on one occasion.
Never once suspecting that she had the rooms wired and bugged so they could hear and see everything that was happening.
