The Nightshade Knight: Character Sheet and Plot

Plot:
Throughout the world there are criminal enterprises, corrupt individuals, Intelligence Agencies and figures who work behind the scenes.
Usually these groups tend to do business themselves, but more often than one might assume they hire a third party to perform the task they require, whether that be assassination, sabotage, gathering of information, stealing important data or technology, kidnapping etc.
The most prestigious and renowned of these organisations is a "Corporation" known as Nightshade Enterprises, a Company that officially is listed in various areas of industry. It has holdings in manufacturing works, Pharmaceuticals, metal etc. It has shares in transportation and shipping, rents out warehouses and offices to other companies, has a hand in international Funerary Service and at least officially has begun expanding into technology. When in truth the technology used by their agents for years has been considerably more advanced when compared to the rest of the world.
All the while the real purpose and focus of Nightshade Enterprises is its elite agents, the best operatives that can be hired out all work for Nightshade. In some circles its said if you want something done you ask Nightshade Enterprises, some jobs that the company take on can be in the high hundreds of thousands of dollars with some going so far as a million per hit or job.
But there are some issues with Nightshade Enterprises, one might expect that its agents and operatives all have free reign, no they all sign an employee contract which they must conform too, whilst the contract does stipulate that they have the right to refuse a job it is might limit their possibilities in the future. Although all agents under Nightshades employment often perform tasks alone, they are often permitted to bring along their own hand picked team, made up either of other agents or of ordinary mercenaries also under the Companies employ.
However during a normal mission, the most feared of all the agents in Nightshades employ known as Knight, takes on a job for the assassination of a leading Russian Oligarch, as usual for his Nightshade Contract he takes half his payment before hand. But when he completes the job, the Client refuses to uphold the agreement and later Knight learns that the target was the leader of the Political Opposition. Upon reporting what had happened to the Company about being lied too.
The company informs him that under the fine print of the contract, neither they or the clients have to give the complete picture of the contracts, and can at the request of the client alter certain details. Whilst Knight does not care for the Fine Print, he is enraged that the Company refuses to have the client pay the full amount for completion of the Contract.
He promises that unless the Client pays what is owed, then not even the company will be able to protect him. Knowing that such an act would damage the reputation of the company, they told Knight that would ensure that the matter would be dealt with even if it meant that they had to make up the difference themselves, but Knight was adamant that the Client must pay what was owed, remarking that within the fine print of his contract "Nightshade Enterprises will ensure that all employees will receive their proper payment for all contracts taken from the respective client regardless of circumstance".
In terror the Client decides to go behind Nightshade and place a hit on codename Knight, a kill order to eliminate him before he can come after them. Knight has to face off against a powerful individual that is protected by an army of thugs as well as his own employer, the members of which have choices to make either they step back and let Knight get what he is owed, do they step in and try and stop him or do they choose to side with him.
Nightshade Enterprises:
Starting in May of 1998, Nightshade Enterprises began initially as an International Investment firm that primarily worked investments for its clients, but with the backing of several investors and the eventual entrance of the Stock Market the company swiftly expanded to become a multi Billion dollar company. In 2001 the name was changed from Nightshade Investments to Nightshade Enterprises, this was done because the company was beginning to branch out into other markets whilst maintaining its Investment beginnings.
These branches included the purchasing of manufacturing plants, buying out of businesses across the world, acquiring of assets from other companies. Opening of its own divisions and subsidiaries, these included its own line of Fitness, Technology of which the company is swiftly becoming a lead in, Communications, Medical and Pharmaceutical, Entertainment, Manufacturing and Shipping etc.
However that is the official line, unofficially Nightshade Enterprises has its beginnings going back even further, the actual company has existed in one form of another since the 1950s. However through the extent of the Cold War with suspicions everywhere, the company constantly changed its face and placement to ensure that its true operations remained secret. For example Darkstar Industries acquired the assets of another company in 1984, apparently in a negotiated deal, however what in fact took place was the business changing its face for transparency. But in 1997 it was decided that the company shall have a singular face with the rapid growth of international business, they hide their true face by working through various subsidiaries, divisions or other smaller companies they secretly own.
The Top Tier Agents:
Whilst Nightshade Enterprises, hires on various individuals from assassins, ex-spies, corporate hackers, analysts to mercenaries. There are always those that go beyond and become the most infamous in the Company.
In 2001 there were 50 Agents that were well regarded to be classed as "Top Tier", however since these agents undertake the most "Prestigious", Dangerous, expensive contracts for the clientele. The Death tole is excessive, so much so that by 2015 all but Five of the original Fifty are still alive and only two of them are still active agents, the other three have transferred into supportive roles. This has lead to them being referred to as the Old Guard, since they were there at the beginning and see the newer agents as little more than children.

They are also given opportunity to use weapons and equipment specifically manufactured in secret by Nightshade Enterprises, these weapons are far more advanced than anything used by anyone else in the world.
E.G Nightshade P.S.P.R (Precision Sniper Piercing Rifle) a weapon made made the company which is an experimental sniper rifle that fire small but powerful shots in quick succession that ensure that not even bullet proof glass can prevent a kill. [Simplified - the rifle fires multiple shots that pierce through what is preventing a kill shot which follows the first shots, all with a single squeeze of the trigger - e.g 4 bullets create hole for 1 bullet to kill with a Single squeeze of the trigger]

And before any ask, yes. One story of Knight is that he killed one of his assassination targets with a simple plastic paperclip.
And this is just one of many stories surrounding Knight:
-He killed a target with a Credit Card in a five star restaurants bathroom after which he returned to his table finished his meal and paid with said card. Without anyone realising.
-That he was the one who killed Osama Bin Laden, in the time it took the SEALs to get into Pakistan and land, he had snuck in, killed the target, snuck out, gotten to the airport and was waiting for his departure when the SEALs landed.
-He walked into the heart of the Kremlin without raising any alarm or suspicion
-Rescued a child from the clutches of a Yakuza stronghold with no traces.
And the list goes on, no one can ever truly sift the truth from the fiction since so little is really known about Knight.
There is not even any actual information of his life before the company, all the information given was impossible to verify despite numerous attempts by the Company Human Resources department. All the data within his file was proven to be incorrect or fabricated, hence the appearance of so many "Unknowns". All that is known to Nightshade is that he was "Recruited/Hired" by the Company in 1999. This makes him one of the few surviving Agents from the early days of Nightshade Enterprises in its current form, though much of the information regarding his hiring is limited, mostly due to the fact that the recruitment agent that hired him retired in 2010 and passed away in 2019, leaving no records of Codename Knight.
Interactions with Codename Knight have proved even more mysterious, any time the Company has a contract for him to review and take, the Handler for Knight does not actually meet him in person. It usually involves receiving a phone call with deep clearly altered voice telling them where to go and meet, at the location, another phone call will come and request the details of the Contract and what to do with the file.
For example, on one occasion, his handler was told to go to a restaurant upon taking her seat, she waited to see if he would turn up. Instead she got a call on her Cell phone from an unknown number, again with an altered voice, Knight asked about the job and received the details over the phone. After which he told that he would go through the file and decide whether or not to take the Contract, when she went to get the file from her bag however she found it gone. Knight had taken it already, a strange detail he has is the preference of paper and physical files, each and every time Knight receives work he never obtains the information via anything electronic unless he specifically says so.
For Knight is known as the Jack of All Trades, he has undertaken contracts for nearly every kind of business that Nightshade performs for its clientele. But more often than not people never seem to find him or see him, the reason is clear. Codename Knight is a master of disguise capable of changing his appearance with ease to make him look like one person in one moment and then someone else a second or two later. Thus making it near impossible for him to be identified in a crowd.
To any who try to track him, the task has proven impossible, with countless false identities and various disguises that make him impossible to identify to the naked eye. Some in Nightshade attempted to track him for the sake of the company by following the payment of his fulfilled contracts. Yet even this proved impossible to track, since the payment would go into one of several accounts before the majority is transferred over into dozens of other accounts which then go into other accounts, before being invested into different corporations and companies where they seem to disappear entirely.
Even when he does make a physical appearance without any disguise he would always turn up in his signature armour and equipment, which is a specialised suit that is a blend of various cutting edge body armour, including triple weaved coating with micro Titanium plating making it both lightweight but incredibly durable. As well as this the suit contains all kinds of gadgets and pieces of technology.
These include magnetic holsters for his weapons allowing him to grab and draw his weapons in swift movement without any difficulty of getting snagged on anything. The Arm gauntlets that act in a variety of purposes, from simple armour to a miniature computer systems allowing him to communicate, access information or wirelessly hack any computer system on his left arm whilst his right has a built in grapple system allowing him to reach high points with relative ease. Even his mask and helmet is a gadget and tool for his use, not only does it hide his face and alter the sound of his voice, but also the visor is capable of changing its vision mod, from ordinary to infrared to night vision even telescopic.
Even the weapons he uses are regarded as some of the best, a pair of D97 high calibre pistols that are changeable for the missions at hand. On their own they can fire 50 calibre rounds with pinpoint accuracy.
In regards of his work ethic, Knight primarily works alone for the majority of his contracts which work perfectly among the other Agents as quite often Knight is the one that is called on to undertake those that are more dangerous than others, even if they do involve a greater payment. However this does not mean that Knight is against working with others if needs a must, when needed he is more than happy to work with his fellow agents, however he's always choosey as to who he decides to take with him.
They are almost always Top tier agents like himself, people he feels he can trust to work with him in the greatest capacity. Since he is one of the oldest, experienced and feared of all the agents in Nightshade Enterprise, many refer to him as a Mentor/Father/older brother figure when out on missions. On several occasions he was asked personally by "The Executive" and "The Teacher" to teach some of the "Classes" for new agents. Everyone expected him to teach the fundamentals of the work they would undertake, instead however he spent three weeks teaching ordinary subjects such as home ed, chemistry, physics, mathematics etc. When the month ended he gave them all a dozen sheets of paper, a pencil, an eraser and gave to them a hypothetical contract, he gave them the terms of the contract and the rules and told them they had 2 hours to write down how they would complete the contract.
Today many have worked with him and to date the saying is if anyone was to work with Knight, what he says goes, he says run, you run, he says hide, you hide, he says shoot you shoot. Yet despite this huge amount of respect, to the point that the other agents often invite him to outings such as parties, drinking and other festive occasion to which he always declines respectfully. There is also the level of fear surrounding him, all of which is brought about by the various stories that surround him.
Various Clients often request him however the Company policy was renewed in regards of Knight, since he is regarded as the no.1 agent, then he gets both the most dangerous but also the highest paying Contracts. But the catch is that Knight is very adamant that he always gets paid.

Born to an English Father and a Chinese Mother, Jennifer Li Thompson was raised in both respective countries to an extent. Her father was an member of the Diplomatic service for the British Embassy in Beijing whilst her mother was a diplomatic aid for the Chinese Government, the relationship was not exactly permitted by either government, though they would be permitted to be married.
Jennifer spent her childhood moving between the two sides of her family, she spent the majority of her early years in Beijing, but would go on summer vacations and Christmas holidays to Britain to see family. When she was fifteen, her parents divorced and her Father won custody of her though she would still take vacations during school holidays to see her Mother in China. The constant hard work of both her parents made Jennifer extremely self reliant in regards of her own work.
During her education she chose various subjects that she felt would help in her self determined goals, these included languages, sports and fitness, mathematics as well as Eastern Cultures. Upon her graduation she worked for two years in a private security firm.
At age 20 she was recruited into Nightshade Enterprises after she had been carefully vetted and observed following her two years in private security. Upon her recruitment her self determination and self reliance made her a key agent in various contracts across the world, her language skills made her a keen operative for contracts and missions in Asia. After five years she was placed into the Top tier agents for the Company.
There are however certain down sides of her self determination and self reliant nature and that is she often finds it difficult to work with others whom she doesn't think are worth working with. Another matter is on regards of her stubbornness which is often noted by Clients, a number report her determined attitude which is often referred to as disrespectful and insubordinate. Though the handlers, agents, operatives etc, that have worked with her know better, they all know that it isn't anything like that she is just who she is.
And for want of a better word, she a Dragon. Hence the codename for her reference.
And of course there are the various complaints, incidents, disciplinary actions placed against Jennifer Li, the Dragon. On a number of occasions she has been disciplined for threatening Clients who are late with their payments for her Contracts, in one instance she was reported for assaulting four bodyguards of a client in order to get to them. This has made it so that she has the second largest file in the "Real" company records, second only to codename Knight, although only half of her contracts fill the file.
Whenever she is not on any mission she tends to stay close to home enjoying what she refers to as peace and quite, often removing herself to her private villa in the Chinese Highlands. "The Gymnast" once joked saying that Dragon likes to live in peace and tranquillity where she cares for her Blossom tree, the reply was quick and sudden, with Dragon giving her a black eye. Despite the fact that she herself laughed at the joke.

Raised under the close ties of the Triads of Hong Kong, Miranda had two mothers one American mother and the other Chinese, however she lost her parents at an early age at the hands of a Triad hitman who brutally murdered them, as her birth mother was a member of an opposing clan.
Since her birth mother was a respected individual, the clan took her in and raised her as if she was their own daughter, so she would spend time with different families that treated her with kindness and love. By age 14 she had begun to show an interest in violence, getting into fights at school, all of which she would easily beat, thanks to her extra curricular activities of gymnastics and athletics. Since she was so interested, the clans decided to teach her the ways of the Triads and the means of killing, by 18 she had become a fully fledged killer for the clan with nine successful kills to her name.
However her childish nature began to show as she was noted to often play around with her targets, performing some rather harsh killings even when not requested. These were bringing too much attention to the Clan, this is when Nightshade Enterprises approached her with the offer of employment. More specifically they sent codename Knight to give the offer, Knight was already known to the upper echelons of the Triads so much respect was given. He passed an large brown envelope to her and didn't say a word.
Enticed, she took the employment and began working for Nightshade Enterprises, her skill in athletics and gymnastics have been a great boon to the company as she finds it very easy to gain access to certain places that would not usually accessible. She is a prime example as to why the "Old Guard" refer to the newer agents as children, as the Gymnast often behaves in a somewhat childish manner, finding joy in what she does.
Despite this though everyone gets along with her, since whenever they come together to celebrate or have some fun, she is the one that kicks the fun up a notch. Often singing aloud or getting everyone dancing or into drinking games, the only catch is that she doesn't really have any caution when it comes to how she acts around everyone. On one occasion she received an injury to her stomach during a contract, without any care she lifted her shirt to show it off, not caring as to how revealing her undergarments were.
The Dragon often finds her a little too uncomforting as to how hard she tries to be friends, since every time they see each other, the Gymnast hugs her. Something that the Dragon doesn't really enjoy from people, as well as this many although they find her childish streak "Adorable" they do question her choice of nicknames she has for everyone.

Born and raised in Egypt to a middle class family, the Hood showed his brains even when he was a boy, at the age of 16 he was chosen for a scholarship to the United States where he learned English. He returned to Egypt at 18 where he began working for a private security firm in Alexandria, he was recognised by his employers who put him in for Bodyguarding and protection work.
He was given extensive training for the jobs he would expected to perform, however just as he was about to start properly the company hit a bleak point where its fortunes swiftly went down hill. Eventually the firm had little choice but to accept a buy out by another company.
That company was Nightshade Enterprise, which turned the firm into one of its own subsidiaries, now officially the Hood works as a security consultant. But he showed an aptitude for other lines of work, which Nightshade Enterprise were happy to bring him into its true focus of Agents. The Hood primarily works contracts and jobs in and around the Middle east where his language skills allow him a degree of movement for performing his contracts, However there are occasions where he is brought on for a team action at the request of other Agent.
Many in the company often refer to him as the Biker, since he enjoys wearing leather jackets even when performing his contracts, beneath which he would have his body armour. The name the Hood comes from his favourite red hooded jacket which he takes everywhere he goes, often wearing it under his body armour and leather jacket when on contracts. When he works with others there are some difficulties as nearly everyone admits that he has a habit of making more noise than needed, with his favourite weapon being a semi automatic shotgun.

Born during the height of the mid years of the Soviet Union, Alexei was raised under the tutelage of his family which were determined Communists and fiercely loyal to the USSR and its goals. His father was a leading member of the Bolshevik party and often was sent to represent the Soviet Union in its embassies across eastern Europe. It was during these travels abroad with his parents that Alexei began to take note of how different things were between peoples of the "Warsaw Pact", whilst many Russians were determined in their beliefs as were many in the countries he visited.
A greater number did not see the benefits of the Soviet Bloc, admiring instead the growing economic growth of the western nations. At 6 he was sent off to university in Moscow where he studied in Economics, Industry but primarily Law, his hope was to one day be a lawyer. However swiftly changed when the Soviet Union began to break apart.
Returning home he and his mother fled to Sweden for safety after his father was arrested for backing a failed military coup. It wouldn't be until 1993 that Alexei would be able to return to Russia, sadly his hope of being a lawyer was dashed as he had to pay off his fathers debts. This forced him into working for the Russian Mafia in St Petersburg, despite his dislike for killing he became a good earner for his bosses who gave him a gift a crafted Black Skull mask as a thank you for his work but also a warning. He still uses the mask today not only to protect his identity but also to remind himself of his past.
In 1999 he was given an offer by the newly minted Nightshade Enterprises for employment, they offered to pay of his fathers debts entirely in exchange for him signing on with the company. Nightshade wanted him as an employee due to his language skills for the region as well as his skill in bodyguarding and assassination. He readily agreed since he was becoming more concerned in regards of working with the Russian Mafia who gave him no choice in anything.
One of the few surviving members of the "Old Guard", Skull primarily likes to work bodyguarding jobs where he feels the most useful. Not only due to his dislike of killing but because he has become prone to the questioning of his soul, often visiting Orthodox Churches to pray or seek guidance from a Priest who is aware of his line of work.
He holds a great amount of respect for those he works with, despite his religious side the other agents regard him as a guiding hand. Someone to make sure that they won't go over the edge, this doesn't meant though he doesn't sometimes indulge in some fun and games. Whenever the top tier agents come together for a party of some kind, he is not afraid to come and join them, often bringing a bottle of Vodka.

Born and raised in the wilds of Australia, Longshot was orphaned following a car accident, ordinarily he would have been put into the foster program or put into an orphanage. However since he was born into the Aboriginal community, they came together and took him in, with each family helping to raise him. Meaning he spent a few months with one family then another and then another until he was able to look after himself.
At 18 he took a job as a wildlife Ranger aiding in the protection of wildlife and habitats across Australia, it was here that he continued to hone his skills with a rifle. Since Australia has a population of camels that are degrading the local flora, he had to take part in several culls in order to maintain the health of the environment. Over time he continued practicing his skills with a long rifle until he started showing up in Shooting Competitions, 99% of which he won hands down.
He came to the attention of Nightshade Enterprises during a hostage situation in a holiday cabin, during which he was selected due to his marksmen skills by the police. He was the one that from a distance 3,000 yards shot and killed the hostage taker.
His skills were recognised by Nightshade Enterprises who offered him a job, wanting to pay back the community who raised him, he accepted when he realised how much money he would make. Ever since Longshot has become a prime assassin and supporting agent for numerous missions and contracts for Nightshade, often being requested by other Top tier agents to help them in their own missions as a supporting or covering role. Meaning they deal with the actual mission whilst he backs them up with Sniper fire should anything go wrong.

For want of a better word, Ninjutsu is a Ninja in every regard, born and raised into a ancient Japanese Clan that still holds prominence to this day despite the changing of the world. The Ninji Clan was a renowned clan throughout Japans history, mostly for its skilled Ninja's who performed expert acts of assassination and sabotage on behalf of the clan or its allies.

During her time in university she was approached by individuals representing the British Secret Service branch known as M.I.6, who wished to recruit her into the "Business". Born into a impoverished family from Western Russia, the family moved when she was 5 to the United States in hopes of finding a better life. Despite having to work from a young age at part time jobs "Vixen" continued her studies in the hope that one day she could become a successful Business woman in her own right.

Upon his graduation he began working for a Private Military Contractor that performed work mostly in Central and South America, notably in Columbia where the company he worked for was often contracted to bodyguard prominent individuals as well as protect certain assets own by said individuals.

The literal head of the snake, The Executive serves as the Chief Executive of Nightshade Enterprises, officially with a small loan he started the company at its birth with Nightshade Investments. Now he leads the company in its fullest form, sitting at the head of a multi billion dollar Enterprise that employs tens of thousands of people across the world, his reach stretches far.
The Executive began his work in Business on behalf of other individuals until he was able to begin working for himself. Primarily as a consultant and fixer for clients all around the world, it was here that here that he meant the man known as the Archivist and together the pair of them would found the predecessors of Nightshade Enterprises, working the same jobs that they do today.
As the C.E.O of Nightshade Enterprises, the Executive has a great amount of influence over the company as well as a close connection to its many more "Top Shelf" Clientele. His primary duty is maintaining Nightshade both in its shadowy business as well as its legitimate works, he finds the working of the legitimate front allows the company a level of security from prying eyes. It is through his dealings and duties that Nightshade has prospered overtaking other organisations that work solely in the shadows.
Some would say that he is a difficult man, however for those who truly know him, they all say that no matter what happens he is always loyal to his employees and would never perform any action that would see them betrayed. But it must also be said that he must also ensure that the future of Nightshade Enterprise must be upheld regardless of the cost, even if it must mean taking preference over the choices available to it.
In regards of authority and access to information, as C.E.O, the Executive has greater access to information than any other individual in Nightshade due to the requirements he may have on regards of disciplinary and other such actions that come under his purview. So while most would only be able to access certain aspects of information such as their work ethic, experience, standard details etc. He is one of the few that can gain direct information such as their primary place of residence as well as the exact location where they are in that particular moment.

One of the founders of Nightshade Enterprise, the Archivist moved to America to support his Friend the Executive in the work they were performing. When the Executive became the head of the company they were working for, the Archivist despite being given the opportunity to become a joint C.E.O alongside the Executive, a bout of illness meant that he would find the constant travel exceedingly difficult.
So instead he chose to go for a more pleasant and peaceful area of work, he became the keeper of the real company files that Nightshade Enterprises holds in a secret sealed room known only to a few people. Few are allowed to know the location of the "Archives", fewer allowed to know how to get there and even fewer are allowed actual access into the room itself. Its said that if one wanted anything from the Archives, you would need to request it from the Executive and then only the Archivist would be permitted to go and retrieve it, even if allowed to go in one must have a clear reason. Similar to secret archives elsewhere one cannot go in to peruse the options they must have a clear reason and a specific file to see.
The Archivist although officially retired still tends to the meticulous structure and upkeeping of the Archives, mostly because no one else is able to truly come to grips with the system of filing and organisation that the "Archives" are kept in. It is said that on one occasion a person was allowed access but it was the Archivist that retrieved the required file, to the point that the person allowed was surprised that despite the Archivists age he was able to easily locate the file and retrieve in spite of the fact that the file was many years old.
As the Archivist of the Company, he has access to a greater level of information than anyone in the entire company since he is easily able to look into information that is best kept hidden from the open eyes. Some even say that he is one of the few who know the true background and history of Codename Knight, with others saying that he was the true recruiter of the individual known as Knight, however no one has ever been able to prove it.

A former member of the Old guard of Agents under Nightshade, Clarissa Khan was born into poverty and scratched herself up from nothing to the point that she began working her own business from the shadows from a young age.
Not much is exactly known of what she did during these years but in 1999 she was recruited in Nightshade Enterprises as an active agent. Though after a number of years and a exceedingly close call she decided to request a transfer into a support role in December 2020, the close call in question was when she and a group of other agents were caught unawares at a safe house and forced to fight their way out, it was only with the help of Codename Knight that they were able to get away.
Since Knight had continuously requested new handlers for his work over the course of his employment, the Governess was selected to be his. The hope was that by having a familiar face and more importantly someone he had worked with a number of times would be better than someone that he didn't know at all. Knight agreed and ever since she has worked specifically as Knights Handler. Although other Handlers work a number of agents and operatives, Knight is her only Agent in her charge.
As his Handler, it is her job to maintain close contact with him at all times and relay information between him and the company or vice versa. Should there be a contract for him, then its her job to get in touch with him, pass along the information and provide a briefing as well as provide support in the form of requisitioning the equipment he might require for the contract and so on.
She earned the name the Governess from her determination and her attitude to other agents and operatives, many refer to a tough teacher who would actively seek out errors and ensure that the lessons are taught. So the idea of the Governess came into being as her code reference, yet despite this attitude she bares to others, she made a single slip up only once when she allowed her hard exterior lessen to the point that she was able to smile.
The person that made her do this was the man she would later become the Handler for.

This meant that he very rarely saw his father instead staying with his mother who had decided to remain in Germany to support members of her family. Gadget was recognised at a young age for his ingenuity and his technical skills, it was said that he could take various pieces and make something no one had expected. This skill allowed him to go to one of the most prestigious schools for engineering and technology available at the time, he exceeded in these areas and went to study science and technological research.
From which he was able to gain employment with a renowned engineering firm and later Automotive manufacturer. After a while though he became a consultant working for numerous companies across the world. He came up with a series of advancements in automobile ability and technology, these included the inclusion of digital systems into the dashboard of the vehicle, the introduction of reactive airbags and later the "Onstar" system for emergencies.
Throughout all this time he also did part time work for other industries such as the precursor of Nightshade Enterprise, but in 1997 he decided to take an offer for permanent employment for the soon to be Nightshade Enterprise. His job to create the tools that the Agents will use when on missions, contracts etc.
Every gadget, device, weapon all comes from Gadget and his team of Research and Development, all of it thoroughly researched and vigorously tested to test the limits of each piece. Whether it be a vehicle, a simple car that to the naked eye seems like those found everywhere, but when he puts in his details it becomes something more. A reclusive leader of a shadowy group of monks that use their martial arts and skills as both a means of protection but also as a means of achieving spiritual enlightenment. The Master is a secluded individual who tends to treat all students with the same level of minor disdain, often not speaking a word to them until he believes that they have earned his respect in some manner.
It has even been rumoured that on one occasion as a form of punishment he broke every bone in an individuals arm after they showed disrespect towards him and the other monks. Ever since everyone knows full well that when one is before the Master, they must speak only when spoken to.
Officially the Master, does not work specifically for Nightshade Enterprise but at the bequest of the Executive and the Archivist, he serves as an aid for the company. Whenever they recruit new agents that have a limited level of skill or expertise in certain areas of work namely martial arts and defence, they are sent to his private compound to learn from him. In exchange the Company legally purchased the land around the compound for its protection and provides services including the delivery of food and other essentials that the Monks may have need of.
Of course there are always stories around him, some say that he is an immortal since he never really seems to age, but then again it can be said that no one really knows how old he is. Then there is the matter of his students, even though he shows great disdain to them, especially if they have been sent back to relearn something. He does show a greater level of respect and curtesy to former students that have come back of their own volition without a need for anything but his advice and spiritual words for aid.

He broke out of his imprisonment and went on the run, it was here that he was approached by Nightshade Enterprise, more specifically "Knight" who was acting on the request of the Executive. Seeing an opportunity to live his life again without having to look over his shoulder, he accepted and became a leading agent.
However following an accident in 2015 he was forced to step down once again from a pro active role in missions and contracts, however his skill and experience were still of great value to the company and the offer was made for him to become the primary tutor for any and all new agents the Company took on. This means that even those who are of some skill have to go through him to show how good they are and whether or not they require extensive training or not.
The Teacher took to this job with a determined nature, pushing all of his students to various extremes, including having them cross over standing poles whilst being struck by bamboo canes. The point being to make it so they are able to cross without losing their balance, which was the reason for his removal from active contracts and into a support role. He even takes them out to frozen lakes where they are to fight him with hand to hand weapons to test their skill and more preciously their footwork and awareness of their surroundings, it goes without saying that a number of them forget and end up falling through thin ice.
He often puts in requests for Knight to come and join the teaching of the newcomers, since many are fully aware of him and the stories that surround his name. However the Teacher was dumbstruck when the one time he did, he observed the recruits being taught everyday tasks and jobs. Unsure what it meant at first, Knight finally explained following the "Exam" he put the recruits through, "Agents have to be able to see but not be seen.... to do so they must appear to be just like everyone else".
Teacher finally understood, if the recruits couldn't pass for ordinary people then a target can easily identify them. Ever since the Teacher has continued this method of teaching, as well as the more expected lessons of killing, sabotage, etc. He now tries to teach the recruits into understanding and having knowledge of the Official job title they are to work, this is to ensure that when required they can actually do the job that their tax forms say they are employed for.
He is also one of those who are responsible for identifying which fields of employ the new agents will be qualified for based on the progression of their training. For instance not all agents are properly qualified to work as Assassins or not skilled enough to be Bodyguards.

Hired with the express purpose of working the various tasks and contracts that had been accepted by the Company, White Dove, has the job of working as the go between of information and work between Nightshade, the Clients and the agents chosen for the task at hand.
It is for this reason that she is allowed access to certain levels of information on regards of the Agents she is responsible for working with. This includes a direct means of communication with them, their current locations so she can properly assist in arranging the transfer of details whether that be with actual files or the sending of the information via the Company server or encrypted emails.
White Dover serves as the Handler of all the Top Tier agents currently employed by Nightshade Enterprises, however she finds herself erred by the fact that codename "Knight" passed her over as his Handler. Despite her years of hard work she hates the fact that despite her preference of treating all the operatives and agents under her umbrella as equals, Knight has an exclusive handler. And while she makes it clear that even though Handlers receive a Percentage of the contractual payment made to the company by its clients, she doesn't care about such. What she hates that someone who has very little Experience as a Handler was given the most respected, most desired, most feared agent in the company.
Despite all this though, White Dove is thorough in everything she does, always making sure that whenever a Contract comes her way. Every possible detail is examined and nothing is overlooked, she even takes her time to try and actively assist the agents when on highly volatile missions. Working from the "Command Centre" and assisting in the passing along of information, however more often than not her job is provide the cover story for various actions that will be required for the mission to take place.

Since his computer had access to the true company servers, fears grew that the information could end up being leaked, however eventually it was traced back to known other than Cyber herself. She had done so to find out more about the company and was rather unimpressed at the security that the servers had in place.
Seeing a keen mind as well as wanting to ensure that she kept her mouth shut, the executive brought her own with Gadget to work on the more technical and more highly advanced sides of the Research and Development. Her first task was to set up a series of protections for the companies many servers both official and unofficial, she did so easily, plugging many holes and problems that she had used to hack her way in and then built several highly advanced fire walls and lock out systems to protect against any future attempts.
Now she works in various fields, primarily she helps R and D with the building of new technologies but at the same time she assists the agents in the field by operating several types of drones that the company secretly manufactures, some are small meant for observation and recon, others are larger and let her help more pro-actively, by using small missiles the size of a finger or small calibre weapons.

His job officially is to manage the companies accounts which include things such as the proper payment of employees, the various investments the company has a stake in, the insurance policies, Pension etc. Which does to a great level of proper satisfaction, he also is responsible for hiding the real wealth of the company, this means that when a client pays for a fulfilled contract, the money is deposited into a predetermined account set by him. Its then his as well as his teams task, to move the money around to clean it up and then to transfer the Percentage into the chosen accounts of the Handlers and agents involved.
He does this in various ways, he could use dummy accounts, false flags, the constant movement of the funds etc. It matters little to everyone else, since he does it so cleanly that no one outside the company ever suspects a thing and even if anything was to happen. Within his purview is the task of ensuring that if required the necessary bribes are handed out to those that require them, however he always does so that conceals the real act of the bribe. For instance the bribe could be in the form not of money but of an object or item that is of that precise value, like a jewel or item that can be sold for the desired price. And since he the banker he always makes sure that the bribed person never really knows who is actually bribing them nor where the money comes from, thus again protecting the Company.
The saying goes among the agents however when it comes to him "Never trust a Banker".

It was during one such mission that he was approached by a corrupt individual who was offering money for him to look the other way whilst they moved some precious items through the base he was posted at. He refused but another individual took the bribe and the Expert ratted him out, despite doing what he though to be right a number of people who had once regarded him a friend started to look at him more differently.
Following this incident he grew disillusioned with his placement in the Army and once his enlistment ended he refused the offer to sign on for another term of service in the military. This sadly lead to a limited availability for work, but one day whilst in a pub as a doormen he was approached by a recruiter for Nightshade Investments who had heard of him and wanted to present an offer of employment. At first cautious, the Expert eventually agreed not wanting to continue spending his nights watching over drunken idiots.
He would work as an agent for Nightshade and would be given the honour of a Top Tier Agent, however this came to an end when he suffered an injury to his torso which severely damaged one of his kidneys, said organ had to be removed for his own welfare. This also meant that his time as an active agent was shelved, since Company Policy was clear on the matter that any and all agents who have medical conditions are unable to properly serve in the field. But this didn't mean he was simply let go.
Instead he was transferred over to the support roles, where he primarily works as a communications expert but not that often. No the Expert is the primary selector and distributor of Contracts to agents, this comes in two forms, first he is responsible alongside the Teacher to designate which new recruits are capable for what areas of work. I.E bodyguarding, assassination, mercenary work, espionage etc, but also which of the available agents are the best suited for certain contracts offered by clients.
Although he does find it difficult at times, since many of these include having to send new faces to almost certain death, but also because he finds it taxing. Taxing because those whom he respects are out in the field doing jobs that are more proactive, such thoughts are often pushed aside however whenever Knight comes along and reminds him that he has an important job ensuring that the right person is matched to the right contract.
