James Luck and the Great Galactic war: Resistance Dossiers

These files are classified at Clearance level 5:

The Following are known Resistance Organizations operating within the Occupied zone, they are fighting both Coalition and Invader forces.

U.N Remnant:  Leadership: Commander Wilkins- UNMC  Strength:Unknown

A collection of what remains of the United Nations forces scattered across planet Earth, as well as the civilian militias and insurgencies.

They are one of the few groups that engage the Coalition forces in open conflict on numerous occasions, mostly because of the support behind it. Some reports even detail that they are still holding onto a small number of towns. However some would claim that this is only successful with the support of U.N blockade runners, ferrying supplies and equipment to the resistance.

Even then these towns are outlying locations, such as Churchill on the Hudson bay in Canada. It is these locations the Coalition does not consider the need to send permanent forces.

In recent months alongside (Redacted) teams, the U.N remnant has begun to become more organized with local forces as well as becoming more willing to provide help to resistance groups on other worlds, up to and including providing troops for critical offensives.

It is considered that with greater support then the Remnant may be able to retake and hold a large scale city, which they had attempted in New York, however after an Invader counter attack retook the city, many in the resistance no longer think that they are capable of "Liberating" a major city.

Free Martian Movement:  Leadership: Unknown  Strength: Unknown

One of the most successful and supported of the Sol system resistance groups, mostly due to its initial creation.

The Free Martian Movement, originally started as a political movement which slowly became more of a direct militant insurrection against the United Nations Governorship of Mars. Initially the movement was focused on gaining more independence from the central government on Earth, believing that an Earth based government should not direct control of the Martian cities, due to the apparent lack of understanding of life on Mars, especially the system of terraforming.

As according to them and scientific groups, the Terraforming of Mars is not complete, where the terraformers have changed certain areas of Mars, making it easier to breath the air and calm the weather. Areas further away from the major cities and their nearby terraformers, the climate is much more uncertain, constant sand storms of ranging strength force people to live in underground settlements, as well as this the oxygen levels further from the terraformers are lower and lower the further one goes.

The movement gained significant support when they commenced an Insurrection against the U.N with insurgents numbering in the hundreds. However once the Invaders took most of the Martian colony, the insurrectionists, provided safe haven for the scattered U.N garrison. Now both the Insurrectionists and the U.N troops fight a guerilla war as equals.

In fact some intelligence suggests that the Invaders and the Coalition only control the major cities, which the Insurrectionists constantly produce trouble in. Attacks range from ambushes, raids, bombings and sabotage of major and minor mining installations and equipment.

The Angels of Death:   Leadership: Unknown  Strength: Unknown

One of the mysterious of the known resistance groups, there is little information of this group as they have a strategy of not leaving anyone alive in any of their ambushes. No information of the group int he Coalition or Invader systems, all that is known that they range their attacks from ambushing small patrols to strategic attacks and raids against lightly defended garrisons or fortifications.

From we have been able to gather is that the group, is centralized in the Mythran solar system, which is primarily a Felis colony, under the control of the Coalition. All intel from the system say that the Coalition has construction new flashy cities to entice people to see the Coalition in a different light and it seems that the Angels of Death, live on the fringes of these glowing cities.

The Lost Swords:  Leadership: Lennoxe  Strength: A few Hundred

A break away faction of the Broken Swords rebellion against the Guardant Empire, they broke away after the initial invasion. During the period when the Guardant Empire and the Broken Swords were negotiating a ceasefire to focus their combined forces against the Invaders.

The Lost Swords broke away because they feared that whilst the two spoke the Invaders would get closer to the worlds they called home in the Imperial borders. Like all Guardant they use close quarter combat, using a type of Plasma blade which is held with a hand held knuckle holders, (Brass Knuckles, which hold the power cell to the blades, the user activates them, holding their fist strong and use the blades by slashing or punching) Allowing them to use one in each hand.

From what General (Redacted), elite (Redacted) have been able to uncover. The group is willing to speak to the Alliance in order to gain support and possibly fresh recruits, so that they might commit larger offensives against the Coalition on the 6 inhabited planets within the Dashaar solar system. The General is intending to provide a few elite units to support them and establish bridges between them and different resistance groups in the occupied zone.

The sheer determination of this group is one that has the Coalition on edge, because in most cases from what reports say, the Coalition troops never seem to get a shot off before the Swords are among them cutting them apart.

The Insurrection:   Leadership: Unknown    Strength: Unknown

The Insurrection is one of the most ferociously active and brutal of all the known Resistance groups, mostly because it does not differentiate between Civilian and enemy casualties in its actions. For example during an ambush against a transport convoy, carrying a vehicle full of ammunition and explosives, during the assault several civilians were caught in the cross fire of laser bolts and explosives. During the firefight sixteen innocent people were killed when the Insurrection destroyed the vehicle carrying the explosives, resulting in a massive explosion which damaged all the surrounding buildings.

These actions are both an annoyance for the Coalition forces but also a propaganda coup, allowing them to portray the Insurrectionists and other Resistance or Rebel groups as more Terrorists than freedom fighters. Despite the actions of the Insurrection, many still either support the group or secretly have sympathy for it. Contact with the group brings the intelligence of fear based tactics in use, they claim that to defeat an enemy such as the Invaders and the Coalition you have to show them how weak they are and how terrifying you are.

Many in the Alliance are against providing support to the group as they fear that anything sent could result in more civilian deaths. Some are claiming that some of the actions committed by the group border on the line of war crimes, indicating a possible tribunal should we win the war.

Unknown Group:     Leadership: Unknown     Strength: Unknown

Recent intelligence has brought forth, numerous large and small scale guerilla actions against Invader and Coalition installations across the Occupied zone. The first attack has been identified as an Invader/Coalition research base, it is believed that the facility was used as a cloning operation, allowing the Invaders to reproduce their forces quickly.

What is odd, is that the attacks are sporadic, they are not focused at any one form of occupation or system, each resistance group we have contact with, focuses on something specific that the enemy requires and can easily be hit. But this group has attack everything from a small communications outpost, to a Intelligence post in the asteroid belt of the Alta system.

The only thing that stands common is a form of brutality inflicted on the creatures and coalition troops, it seems that the group carve into the bodies somewhere the word puppet, we have yet to understand what it means.

Stand Strong..Stand Together:   Leadership: Rennik Feln     Strength: Few hundred

The Stand Strong.... Stand Together resistance movement is a peculiar name for an organization, yet they claim they call themselves this after the motto of the survivors Division that founded it, 1st Division of the Liberator Marines. Lead by Rennik Feln a Durk Captain in the Liberator Marines. Convinced several civilian militias to join forces with the remnant of his battalion after they were cut off in the Myriam system.

The group uses a variety of tactics to incite rebellion, ranging from standard hit and run attacks, but also propoganda, calling on the people to "Stand Strong... Stand Together". They believe that by showing the multicultural planets in the system can fight together as one, then the people will rally and over throw the Coalition Governor.

Generals (Redacted) and (Redacted) have been rather interested in supporting this group, as they claim its strategic position as well as importance of Morale proof the many races can stand together.

The Black Hand:     Leadership:Blood Eye     Strength: Few hundred

The Black had initially started off as a Gharial rebellion against the Gharial government, however when the invasion occurred, their Leader Blood eye called a truce with the government and took his rebels off their world, and lead them to a solar system called Penchark deep behind enemy lines.

The Black Hand started off with solely Gharial fighters, however as they became more and more successful and their causalities increased, they recruited like minded individuals and defectors from their attacks and raids. They are also one of the few to actual exchange prisoners, when taking a prisoner thy hand them over to Federation, Guardant or Alliance military officials. And most strangely without a trade, so they give the prisoners but refuse anything in exchange.

They do however have the Support of General Luck, who knew the Blood Eye from his early days in the military. Claims that the Blood Eye is a good being, honest, brave and has never told a lie in his life.

The Black Hand resistance group and their leader, might be of use in earning the trust of Gharian and the Gharial people. Even though they do not like worlds with a lower gravity than their own, they are not afraid of a fight, this group might be able to convince the Gharials to officially join the war, not just have a few of their race fighting as mercenaries or volunteers.
